Introduction: HIV/AIDS assumed the character of a chronic disease, especially with antiretroviral therapy. To the extent that one experiences a biological recovery and the possibility of life; the adverse effects of medications and a coexistence with psychosocial barriers emerge. In this perspective, work is highlighted as an important interface of daily life. Objective: To analyze the social representations of the work of people living with HIV/AIDS in the use of antiretroviral therapy. Methods: Qualitative research, based on Social Representations Theory. It covers two phases: the mapping of scientific productions (scoping review) and the field work developed in a Specialized Attention Service (SAS). Inclusion criteria: to be in SAS at the time of data collection; age greater than or equal to 18 years; positive serology for HIV; being in regular use of antiretroviral therapy; to be in mentally conditions and have been employed with paid work for a minimum period of 3 months. The exclusion criterion was coinfection under treatment. A socioeconomic and clinical questionnaire and semi-structured interviews were applied. The analysis was thematic categorial. Results: 18 interviews were carried out. Three thematic categories emerged. The work of people living with HIV/AIDS has been anchored to the elements of social representations of HIV/AIDS and antiretroviral therapy. It is represented by the possibility of survival and to remain in work activities with the advent of antiretroviral therapy. On the other hand, meanings of prejudice, stigma and fear are established. For the female gender, domestic activities are also considered, often leading to a choice between work, family care and treatment. Formal work is recognized for providing better stability. Informality and autonomous work seem to show greater flexibility in the face of disease and therapeutics. Retirement is seen as a safe haven for those who failed to return to work activities. They look for adaptations and strategies to coexist with the adverse effects and to maintain the condition secrecy, before the necessity to have closer to the "normal" life and to avoid constraints and loss of the employment. Final Considerations: Investigating the work of those living with HIV/AIDS is necessary for a better understanding of the meaning of life and health; being able to contribute with the direction of actions to these people in their importance.

The families of children with disabilities may have necessities that need to be feed to allow quality interaction with their children. Based on the hypothesis that such necessities may be specific considering the child's age and disability, the present research aimed at: (a) to identify and to analyze the routine, necessities and families social support of children from 0 to 6 years with Down syndrome, and (b) to relate the socio-demographic variables, necessities and families social support of the children aged between 0 to 6 years with Down syndrome. It was participated in the study fifteen parents or guardians of children aged between 0 to 6 years with Down syndrome. The instruments used to collect the data were: (a) Brazil Criteria Questionnaire; (b) Survey on the family needs; (c) Survey of social support and (d) Semi-Structured interview script "Necessities, support and stimulation of families of children with disabilities" (which was prepared for this study). These instruments were applied in the form of interviews. Qualitative and quantitative data were obtained via the instruments. Qualitative data were analyzed via categories previously established in the interview script. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive methods (central tendency measures and dispersion). The Pearson's correlation coefficient was used to relate sociodemographic variables, necessities and families social support. The results showed that the greatest necessities of the families were related to the information about the child's disability and the support services that could assist in its development. In relation to the social support, the families were supportive to diverse situations. Considering the routine, most of the children had certain schedules to do the day-to-day activities, a therapies routine and intensive care and they was highly stimulated inside and outside the home. It was also noted that they had a diversity of toys and materials in the home. When correlating the necessities, social support and sociodemographic variables data, it was verified that: (a) the higher the participants' schooling, the greater the total social support; (b) the higher the number of siblings, the greater the support needs; (c) the older the children, the greater the need to explain to others; (d) the higher the per capita income of the family, the greater the total social support and the need to explain to others, and (e) the longer the age of the participants, the greater the need for community services, as well as correlating with the total necessities. It is concluded that this study specifically covered families of children with Down syndrome, and thus, it serves as a guide to possible interventions, considering the specificities of the age group and the target population.

The present work aims to treat through the syntactic-semantic-pragmatic interface of the imperative phenomenon in Brazilian Portuguese. For this to be possible, we will present and discuss some theories that have already worked and proposed some hypotheses. Through the field of generative syntax, we will bring Han (2000) together with the argument that imperatives have, at the top of the hierarchy of syntactic structure, an abstract operator [IMP] that determines both its force (directive), through a [directive] and the notion of unrealized action given by [irrealis], both abstract operators that are part of [IMP]. Also in the syntactic field, we will present the behavior of the imperatives when used in conjunction with the modifying adverbs, as treated by Tescari Neto (2008). In addition to the syntax, we will show that there is only one form, canonical, as given by grammars (CUNHA & CINTRA, 1985; ALMEIDA, 1995; BECHARA, 2009), but there are also imperative phrases: ‘Trata de’, ‘Deixa de’, ‘Para de’, ‘Pode’, ‘Nem pensa em’ e ‘Nem me vem com (essa de)’. From the formal Semantic perspective, specifically from the studies of intensionality, the work will deal with aspects already discussed by Portner (2004), with his Theory of Properties; Condoradvi & Lauer (2012), with its Theory of Performativity; and Kaufmann (2014), with his Modal Theory. After this incursion, we will present our own hypothesis: imperatives are, semantically, anchors of reality, as Kratzer (2015) argues, but they are indeed anchors of time, not of possible worlds, like modal verbs. In the semantic field, after presentation of the formalization of imperatives, From the pragmatic perspective, we will point out that the imperatives are sentences that, through the directive Speaking Act (OLIVEIRA, 1996), engage their listeners (or addressee - Ad). Let us proposing two principles to understand them. In the end, we will connect all the aspects brought within the three fields, discussing the relevant parts, the flaws and the ways of adapting them to our theoretical interface proposal. We will have a brief look and discuss two forms that are used in conjunction with them: imperative-like conditions (ILUs) and imperative-like ultimatums (ILUs), as discussed by Jary & Kissine (2014).

All behavior implies choice and every choice, like all behavior, is installed and maintained by the consequences it produces in the environment. Choices are at the basis of what decision-making behaviors are. Self-control, for example, refers to the choice of a stimulus that produces delayed reinforcement, but of greater magnitude, as opposed to choice by a stimulus that produces an immediate reinforcement but of a smaller magnitude, known as impulsivity. Much of what is meant by social behavior can also be understood under the approach of behavior of choice, such as generosity, selfishness, and altruism. Generosity has been defined as a systematic pattern of choices that benefits the other in the same way that it benefits the one who makes the choice. Selfishness, on the other hand, has been defined as a pattern of choices that benefits the one making the choice and less the other, and altruism, a pattern of choices that benefits the other and nothing, or almost nothing, the one that makes the choice. To study the different patterns of choice the area has used an instrument known as Sharing Game. Studies that have used this game to study the phenomena of generosity and self-control have shown that such processes can be influenced by variables such as differences between genders, cultures and cost of response. However, no study was conducted to investigate whether a participant who had a selfish response pattern, after undergoing self-control training, could have his pattern of selfish responses modified by a pattern of optimized responses in the Sharing Game. The goal of these studies was to evaluate the effect of a self-control training on the emission of optimized responses in the Sharing Game in participants with typical (Study 1) and atypical (Study 2) development. In Study 1, initially the participants were submitted to the Sharing Game and the temporary discount task. If they had their response patterns classified as selfish and impulsive, they underwent a self-controlled response training, which involved a simple discrimination (TDS), reinforcement quantity training (TDR) and reinforcement delay training (TAR). Participants were then submitted to the abrupt reinforcement delay condition (AAA) and later to a high preference activity self-control training (CEAP). Finally, participants were again submitted to the Sharing Game to identify whether self-control training had an effect on the emission of optimized responses. The same procedures were applied in Study 2, however, initially it was tested if the participant presented discrimination of the greater relation between the Numerals and later, he was submitted to all sequence of procedures of the previous study. The results of study 1 demonstrated that the participant, who initially presented a pattern of selfish responses in the Sharing Game and an impulsive pattern in the task of temporal discount, after being submitted to the training of self-control, started to chose significantly more optimized responses in the Sharing Game. The results obtained in study 2, with participants with atypical development, demonstrated that the participants did not present the necessary prerequisites to verify if a pattern of selfish responses in the Sharing Game and impulsive in the task of temporal discount can be altered after the participants are submitted to self-control training

Serratia marcescens is a member of Enterobacteriaceae familly with intrinsic resistance to various antimicrobial groups. In this study, 54 strains of Serratia marcescens isolated from patients admitted to the intensive care unit of a tertiary hospital in Tocantis, Brazil, were characterized phenotypically and genetically. A large part of S. marcescens isolates (n = 13, 24.07%) were classified as multidrug-resistant (MDR), with a high level of resistance to β-lactam antibiotics, aminoglycosides, quinolones, tigecycline and colistin. Our data confirmed the presence of genes in S. marcescens, which confer resistance to beta-lactam antibiotics, including carbapenems. PCR analyzes showed that all the isolates (n = 54, 100%) harbored the blaKPC-2 and blaTEM genes, 7 (12.96%) were positive for blaCTX-M-15.8 (14.81%) for the blaOXA-1 gene. The beta-lactamases genes blaVIM-1 and blaNDM-1, blaSHV and blaIMP-2 and the gene conferring resistance to colistin mcr-1 were not found. The ERIC-PCR technique was used to determine the clonal relationships between the strains. The results showed a high genetic similarity between the lines, indicating that S. marcescens circulating in this UTI are highly genetically related. The resistance pattern presented by S. marcescens clinical isolates and the potential transmission of these clones, observed in our study, is very worrying, since it is suggested that they are important disseminators of hospital infections. Therefore, measures that eliminate the sources of resistance development and the reservoirs of these bacteria are of extreme importance for the control of these infections.

The objective of this study was to investigate the social representations of workers of a Family Health team about Matrix Support. We seek to analyze, understand and interpret the ideas, perceptions and concepts reported by participants. The study had as a field of study a family health unit in a municipality in the interior of São Paulo. In the construction of this work, we counted on the participation, as interviewees, of thirteen members of this FHS selected for the research (all the workers who worked there in a superior period two months ago and who were in contact with the actions of matrix support). This is a qualitative research, like a case study, in which methodological approach we used semi-structured interviews from which the contents were analyzed by IRAMUTEQ software. The results presented point to the formation of 5 classes based on two themes: Experiences in mental health, with classes in mental health and mental health learning, classes 1 and 4 respectively; the second theme, attributions and actions of the matrix support with the classes: the role of the NASF in the matrix support, the matrix support in the establishment of the diagnosis and referrals to the specialized services by the primary care and activities of matrix support performed by NASF professionals, being classes 2, 3 and 5, respectively. The matrix support was presented by the group as synonymous with NASF, and represented as something important, however, with notes of poor comprehension, difficulties of knowing the role and for what it effectively serves, thus, how they perceive that it is an activity for a group professionals, doctors, and all other workers are left without the need for such support. Such perception seems to be anchored and maintained by the hegemonic tradition of the domain of health knowledge by certain groups of workers. Thus, mental health activities, such as care and learning in mental health, remain ineffective, pointing out that the matrix support should be better organized and grounded as a policy for transforming primary health care.

Tradução e adaptação da escala “Dementia quality of life scale for older family carers – DQOL-OC” para o contexto brasileiro
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-02-20) Silva, Helena Rita Oliveira; Oliveira, Déborah de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3232426949659754; Orlandi, Fabiana de Souza; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7395879552721664; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0142300134312358
As a result of the rise in the population longevity, the prevalence of the diseases that commonly affect older people, such as the dementia syndromes, tends to increase. People with dementia require long-term care, which is mostly provided by family members. Family caregivers often do not have the necessary training to provide care, which may impact their physical, emotional and social weel-being, which may compromisse their quality of life (QoL). Contemporary family arrangements have led to an increase in the number of older people who assume the role of caregivers. Assessing and implementing effective strategies to increase the QoL of older family caregivers is therefore paramount. Age- and dementia-specific QoL scales for use with older caregivers are necessary to validly and reliably measure the QoL of these individuals. With this purpose, the Dementia Quality of Life Scale for Older Family Carers (DQoL-OC) was firstly developed and validated in the United Kingdom by Oliveira et al. (2018). Translating and culturally adaptating such scale for use in Brazil is important to provide a relevant measure for use by health professionals in clinical and research practice, as well as by the older caregivers themselves to assess their QoL. OBJECTIVE: To translate and culturally adaptat the DQoL-OC in Brazil. METHODS: This was a methodological study conducted in five sequential phases, as per recommended by Beaton, Guillemin and Ferraz (2000): initial translation, synthesis of translations, back translation, review by an expert committee and pre-test of DQoL-OC. All ethical procedures were respected (approval n. 2.291.487). The study was reported into two academic papers, which aimed to: 1. Identify in the literature and describe the psychometric characteristics of the specific QoL instruments for use with family caregivers of people with dementia which had been developed (or translated and culturally adapted) and validated for use in Brazil; and 2. Translate and culturally adapt the DQoL-OC for use in Brazil. RESULTS: In the systematic review of the literature, only two studies reporting the cross-cultural adaptation and validation of a single, two-version QoL instrument for use with both family carers (CQOL) and people with Alzheimer’s Disease (QOL-AD) were identified. In the translation and adaptation of the DQoL-OC in Brazil, two translators independently conducted the translation of the DQoL-OC from English into Portuguese. A consensual version was established, which was then back translated into English by a third translator whose mother tongue was British English. Subsequently, the translated versions of the DQoL-OC were reviwed by an expert panel composed of seven specialists who had extensive knowledge in QoL, caregivers, older people and dementia. The Content Validity Index (CVI) was calculated for all of the items of the DQoL-OC, of which 5.3% showed insufficient CVI (< 0.78 - 2 items) and were revised. Finally, the pre-test stage was conducted with 20 caregivers to assess the clarity and relevance of the items. The caregivers suggested modification in 21 items to help improve the clarity and understanding of the Brazilian version of the DQoL-OC. CONCLUSION: The Brazilian version of DQoL-OC was translated and culturally adapted for use 9 in Brazil. Further research is necessary to establish the validity and reliability of this tool in a Brazilian sample of Brazilian oldfer family caregivers of people with dementia.

The evolution of mobile communication is opening up opportunities for the innovation of vertical industries, whose varied applications demand different requirements. The insertion of 5G networks in vertical industries requires an infrastructure preparation to efficiently support numerous and varied services, one of the alternatives for this is the network slicing. Network slicing allows network operators to simultaneously provide a number of dedicated virtual networks with specific functionalities over a common network infrastructure, allowing a variety of services for different applications. This paper presents a proposal for a Virtualized Infrastructure Manager On-Demand for cloud slicing that allows bare metal control and network services with focus in on-demand creation. For this, a management system was implemented using Openstack in conjunction with virtualization tools allowing the instantiation of a physical machine. In this paper, we present 3 options of installation: complete instantiation bare metal, complete instantiation with containers and complete instantiation with preloaded image. The results indicate that the proposed, implemented, orchestrated and tested architecture meets the requirements of VIM On-Demand, and points out the main prevailing points in VIM.

Virtual Reality (VR) is becoming more and more popular, growing mainly in the educational area being applied in many types of systems, such as games, simulators, etc. Low-cost devices are helping in this advent of VR, especially head-mounted displays - HMD. Several studies point out that students who use VR education systems improve their performance, are more interested and learn more. VR in computing is a technology that allows the user to “be” in other places without having to leave their current location. Two important features of this technology are immersion and interaction. The more immersive, the more the user has the feeling of being within the virtual environment, which contributes with better attention and concentration. With the new VR devices emergence, many interaction techniques can be combined. This work aims to investigate whether different forms of interaction with conventional keyboard and mouse, only HMD and HMD with joystick can improve immersion, usability and comfort in an educational 3D simulation game with adapted 2D menus. To carry out this study the following procedures and scientific methods were utilised: (i) state-of-the-art on VR in order to identify which inexpensive devices are available and which interaction techniques can be exploited in these resources; (ii) a systematic mapping on the use of VR applied to education; (iii) the design of the experiment, hypothesis definition, structure and pilot test; (iv) the statistical analysis of the data collected and the answer to the research question. The game chosen for the experiment was initially developed for the desktop platform and was implemented two more HMD's versions: (i) one using only the HMD gaze input interaction technique; (ii) another using the HMD with joystick to perform the interaction. The experiment was conducted with 57 high school students divided into three groups. To measure the proposed variables was used: (i) eGameFlow for immersion (FU; SU; YU, 2008); (ii) the System Usability Scale - SUS for usability (BROOKE et al.,1996); (iii) Simulator Sickness Questionnaire - SSQ for comfort (KENNEDY et al., 1993). Finally, the preparation, the cleaning, the coding, the organization, the normality test and the statistical analysis of the collected data are presented. The results show that HMD game versions improved immersion when compared to the desktop version, but did not improve usability. The desktop version was the one that got the best comfort.

Sexual education in schools is usually based only on a biological and technicist bias, which leads to universalizing and essentialising visions about sexuality and gender. For this research were interviewed the educators of the disciplines of Sciences and Biology of public schools of Sorocaba - SP, considering that these professionals are considered the holders of the discourse authorized for curricular contents about the body. However, these are issues that also encompass social, historical and cultural points of view. The research has a qualitative character and from semi-structured interviews, using the concepts of discursive practices in Bakhtinian conceptions, we seek to understand the different discourses of the subjects of the research on sexuality and gender in the teaching of sciences and biology, understanding that such discourses are not individual but collective; socially constructed. We seek to identify in which theoretical-methodological perspectives educators guide their pedagogical practices and which approaches they consider pertinent for the teaching of sex education in their disciplines. We observe that there are several devices that act on sexual education, among them, religious and moral values and beliefs about sexuality and gender are significant. The values that the school management and students possess work as a coping to be addressed by some education professionals. Also, the absence of training was pointed out in the interviews, mainly in relation to sex education in addition to the medical-biological discourse, which causes anguish those interviewees who feel the need for a more plural approach. Therefore, in the midst of such difficulties, we perceive strategies and actions built by the educators for dialogical approaches, project realizations and activities that consider the theme in a broad and democratic way.

Tradução, adaptação cultural e validação do Frail Non-Disabled Questionnaire para o contexto brasileiro
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-02-20) Lanzotti, Rafaela Brochine; Orlandi, Fabiana de Souza; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7395879552721664; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5079229672724211
Frailty syndrome can be conceptualized as a state of age-related physiological vulnerability, produced due the decrease of homeostatic reserve and organism’s reduced capacity for dealing with health issues. The aim of this study was translating, analyzing, and validating Frail Non-Disabled Questionnaire (FiND) for Brazilian context. This is a methodological study which followed the international recommendations for instruments in health field: initial translation, translations’ synthesis, retro translation, revision by a committee of experts, pre-test, and evaluation of scale’s psychometric properties. All the ethical aspects were respected. Translation and retro translation was conducted by two independent and qualified translators. The review carried by the committee of experts revealed the validity of the instrument content. Pre-test phase revealed the FiND to be an instrument whose application and comprehension was easy. The evaluation of scale’s psychometric properties was calculated by the Kuder-Richardson test and Intraclass Correlation Coefficient, which showed satisfactory values. According to these tests, the proposed instrument is reliable and replicable. In addition to that, it was verified the concurrent validity by means of Spearman’s Correlation Coefficient and Receiver Operating Characteristic Curve (ROC curve). Results suggested positive correlation between FiND and Fried’s frailty phenotype, as well as satisfactory values for sensibility, specificity, positive and negative predictive value, and accuracy. The validity of instrument’s construct convergence was analyzed by Spearman’s Correlation Coefficient, which indicated a positive correlation between the FiND and depressive symptoms. The same analysis revealed negative correlations with nutritional and cognitive states, as well as with quality of life’s physical components. Comparison of means was used to analyze discriminant validity between robust, non-frail, and frail groups considering the following: with or without depressive symptoms; better or worse perception on quality of life; and adequate nutritional state, at risk for malnutrition, or in a malnutrition state. All these comparisons were statistically significant. Considering the proposed goals, as well as the obtained results, it is concluded that FiND was translated, adapted, and validated for Brazilian context, which allows its use for future research on incapacity and frailty in community-dwelling older adults; it also instrumentalizes health professionals, caregivers, and family members who works in places that attend the elderly.

The research has as a proposal to capture, understand and analyze the educational ideas of the Pedagogue and psychologist Ana Maria Poppovic, reference researcher mainly between the decades of 1970 and 1980. Prominent intellectual in the educational setting for conducting several studies, projects, researches and work in defense of early childhood education and literacy. Poppovic had collaborationmany times with partnerships of scholars and researchers in the field of education and psychology. At the same time he obtained support and collaboration of a group of scholars, to defend his ideas, took on a leadership role and responsibility in the face of investigations. So, we understand that this research is related to studies of trajectory of Poppovic, but belongs to the field of History of Education and the construction of their ideas, as is dedicated to understanding the work and intellectual studies within your period and historical context by examining their contributions to the brazilian education. We are interested that Ana Maria Poppovic became interested in preschool in order to contribute to the promotion of children "able" and "ready" for literacy. Poppovic was in the field of early childhood education a space to meet and even eradicate the problems and difficulties of literacy in the early grades of elementary school. So, has developed numerous studies and research, and as a result, publications, activities, projects and practical educational materials, mainly for children spoken as "cultural marginalisation", children with difficulties in the learning and belonging to an economically disadvantaged group. We opted for the investigative research in method of theoretical character with the intention of bibliographic understanding educational practices through the context and of the factors that limit. We use mainly the conceptions of Depaepe (2006; 2012) to analyze the ideas of this intellectual from the concept of "demythologization", in an attempt to understand the real reasons and the contradictions that have allowed and took Poppovic to present his proposals for education. We conclude that Poppovic had influence of productions and international programs, especially Head Start, a study developed in the United States with a proposal to follow the teaching-learning and development of poor children. Along your trajectory Poppovic also collaborated and proposed studies international proposals that were adapted to the national context. His educational ideas were related mainly to marginalized children culturally and so supported in defense of early childhood education with dedication to literacy and readiness with Compensatory education to provide defense poor children conditions favourable for the teaching-learning process. So, we believe this research collaborates with the Brazilian educational space reconstruction from an educator of great importance to Education and the History of Education.

The implementation of content-based instruction (CBI), a pedagogical content/language integrating approach, has been recommended by specialists as an alternative for the development of students’ oral ability (OA) in English as foreign language (EFL) undergraduate courses for teaching credentials. However, references for the development of performance tests that could base formative assessment regarding language/content integration have not been verified in the literature. It is believed that this incipiency has led to the adaptation of proficiency tests concepts upon considerably experimental basis. The present ethnographic study aimed at describing instruments and criteria to OA assessment at an OA development subject at an EFL undergraduate course for teaching credentials at a public federal university in São Paulo state, Brazil. Data was gathered throughout 1 term with the deployment of observation, questionnaires and interviews to further investigate the assessment practices of the professor in charge of the subject as well as the test takers attitudes. One of the main goals was to be able to identify and describe the professor’s criteria to the subject’s assessment routine that could eventually suit similar contexts. The results showed that presentations, interviews and podcasts are efficient instruments for OA performance testing in CBI contexts. Such instruments, however, also demonstrated to be impractical when few examiners are recruited which, in the case of this study, led to the employment of communicative language use criteria, rather than the employment of assessment scales. In this particular context, the feedback unfolded as essential to a CBI formative assessment routine, but the test takers were not able to rationalize the results with which they were provided. Further investigation on the relation between test takers’ assessment beliefs and feedback quality would be fruitful.

This paper presents a method that seeks to minimize the distance traveled during maneuvers at the headland and thus spending on fuel and soil compaction. It resembles the problem capacitive vehicle routing problem, which is based on the traveling salesman problem, classified as a NP-Hard problem due to their complexity and number of possible solutions, this complexity that the problem treated here is also classified. Due to this it is used the metaheuristic Particle Swarm Optimization being subsidiary in the search of the solution by the Metaheuristics of Ant Colony Optimization, in addition it is used in some cases the strategy to realize the permutation of individuals in order to realize local improvement. To be a matter of great relevance, there are many studies already carried out, which enabled the comparison of the proposed method with another study previously and of fundamental importance in the theme. This comparison showed the viability of the proposed method besides showing the possibility of being used for fields of various sizes and implements that already use current technology or older implements.

In the current scenario of Brazil’s Public Health, which presents many budgetary restrictions, one of the measures found by the State in order to face them is the incentive given to entities with social objectives. This context indicates the need to reflect upon the efficiency and effectiveness in the application of financial resources offered by the State to assistance institutions such as a Federal University Hospital (FUH) that, besides offering medical assistance, carries out teaching and research activities and it is considered a reference in state-of-the-art technology equipment. The present study aimed at demonstrating if the federal government investment in the University Hospital “Prof. Dr. Horácio Panepucci” of the Federal University of São Carlos (UH – UFSCar), in the year of 2017, added economic value to the society after the Brazilian Company of Hospital Services (EBSERH) has taken over the institution management. In order to do that, a case study was carried out at the institution, in which information about all the ambulatory procedures and hospitalizations was obtained, with subsequent SUS value conversions into market values, as well as the identification of all the direct and indirect costs and State investments in the entity. The results of the Economic Value Added Short Term (VECP) and the Economic Value Added to the Society (VEAS) have been positive in the considered period, which demonstrates the institution’s efficiency in using the capital invested by the State and confirming its aptitude in offering health assistance services to the community, as well as its capacity to remunerate the value opportunity cost that was entrusted to it. This study has also identified a significant difference between SUS values and market values and this led to the conclusion that, if UH – UFSCar did not exist, the society would have to pay private initiative on average 9,74 times more for hospital services. Furthermore, these results are extremely important for public management because they demonstrate, through the positive Operational Economic Result, that the institution managers have administrated public resources in an efficient way, returning the taxpayers a lower cost compared to the market, with potential to provide services that add value. The results analysis presented in this research prove the importance of using public governance as a management tool able to provide public management transparency. For these reasons, the performance assessment tools must be required by the society to obtain real information on the uses of investments made by the State.

The multiple racial inequalities, components of the everyday life of the Brazilian Negro, were historically questioned in different ways, mainly by the actions of the Black Movement. Claimed by the latter, racial quotas initially thought of as a form of inclusion of young blacks, present as a corollary the questioning of a university structure that sought to make the presence and history of these subjects invisible, as beings not endowed with rationality, inventive and creative capacity. , as beings little endowed with humanity. Having this problem of research, by object, the policy of affirmative action adopted by the State University of Londrina (UEL) to the present (2004-2018), its general objective was to understand the possible transformations occurred in the university structure with the adoption of vacancies for certain student profiles. The specific objectives are: a) to verify which changes regarding the faculty occurred, if they occurred; b) to investigate which changes have been reached - the academic daily life of the student body; and c) to know the performance of the main managers who participated and participate in university administration. To undertake this study, we used the qualitative methodology, as well as documentary research and interviews (with students, teachers and managers). The theoretical bases of this research have, among other references, the contributions of the research already done on affirmative action policies in Brazil and the Sociology of Race Relations. Besides these, the Cultural and Post-Colonial Studies that helped us to understand aspects underlying the policy of affirmative actions, such as coexistence in difference, the construction of other frames of reference on the black subject and the processes of recognition. Thus, we conclude that the vacancies reserved by racial criteria exert a tension on this structure, insofar as the meaning of being shareholder is questioned by the subjects themselves and undergoes changes. The inclusion of black students from public schools already demonstrates the alteration of the aesthetic universe of these courses. Moreover, the reaction to cases of racism and the research interests of quota students alter the student profile and, with this, bring new questions and new pedagogical and theoretical challenges to the university structure itself.
