Teacher training is an important area of education and ultimately responsible for improving the quality of education received by students. The exercise of the teaching profession is full of intentionality and requires a deep knowledge of the dimensions that permeate the teaching and learning processes, namely, the human, technical and political-social dimensions. In this context, initial training is configured as a stage in the teacher training process that enables contact with different knowledge and discourses about education and pedagogical practice, guided by the National Curricular Guidelines for Higher Education Teacher Training (DCNs) and the Pedagogical Project of the Degree Course (PPC) where they study. At the same time, certain policies may contrast with the conception of education proposed by these documents, so that neoliberalism presents itself as an antagonistic political, social and economic model when looking at education from a market logic, neglecting its role in other spheres. Based on this, the This work aimed to collect the meanings of students completing undergraduate courses at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), Araras campus, regarding the role they attribute to the school together with their understanding of the teaching and learning processes, seeking to understand how such speeches and statements align or conflict with the DCNs and the neoliberal discourse. To this end, an online questionnaire and semi-structured interviews were used to capture the speeches that underwent subsequent discursive analysis, based on the Foucauldian framework, which sought identify in these speeches elements that highlight the construction of the subjectivity of these future educators in the context of initial teacher training, seeking to highlight the techniques of self and power responsible for modifying the experience that these individuals have of themselves and the world around them in these contexts. It was possible to verify the significant contribution of initial training in transforming the way in which undergraduates conceive the educational process and the role of the school and the teacher, in addition to revealing forms of resistance and opposition to the dominant discourse together with a deep knowledge and critical look at the challenges and the reality that the Brazilian educational scenario imposes, especially in relation to inequalities and school failure.

Carbon cycling of macrophytes in aquatic ecosystems occurs both by the characteristics of the environment (extrinsic properties) and by the different characteristics of their debris (intrinsic properties). So, in this study, you researched a proven carbon cycling of different initial Eichhornia crassipes debris compositions and humic material formations under the effect of increasing temperature on decomposition. A plant, inoculation material and incubation water were collected in the Barra Bonita reservoir in Barra Bonita / SP. Three types of experiments were performed that contain different initial compositions of macrophyte debris: (i) natural debris, simulating or newly added debris to the sediment; (ii) remove the aqueous extract, simulating debris after a few days of decomposition; and (iii) remove the alkaline extract, simulating advanced stages of decomposition. The materials were incubated for 120 days in anaerobic and aphotic chambers, at temperatures of 20 and 28 °C. A temporal variation of the mass loss caused by experiments, parameterizes the kinetic model using the Levenberg-Marquardt iterative algorithm, and is also calculated by coefficients Q10. The statistics employed follow a significance of 5%. By mathematical model adopted, higher values of mineralized carbon and wet material training were found without decomposition experiments, including natural debris and for experiments with debris without aqueous extraction, and the values of these fractions detected in this experiment may be affected by chemical use. the initial debris suffered prior to incubation. The refractory fraction was the main non-experimental component that only removes the aqueous extract. The more refractory to debris, the more transformations are necessary for it to be incorporated by the microbial community, as demonstrated by the parameterization of the mathematical model used. Decomposition coefficients (mainly refractory refraction) were more affected by quality than temperature increase, while Q10 values indicate higher sensitivities by temperature variation for experiments without water and alkaline extraction. On these evidences, the debris quality as well as temperature contributed to the increase in mineralization values. Mathematical modeling used in experiments clearly expressed as mineralization routes of different debris. Although the increase in temperature causes a mineralization process in the aquatic environment to be accelerated, the quality of the debris was more significant.

In the last decade, mobile applications have gained widespread use through smartphones, it has radically transformed the way people can access and use the media, bringing the internet and many everyday tasks in the palm of their hands. Such ease, however, brought with it new challenges, such as the need for devices with high energy efficiency, good processing capacity, performance, good ergonomic form, lightweight and easy handling. Despite the great efforts expended by all of these companies, some issues with mobile application classification are at the top of many developers' concerns, as implementation defects, lack of domain knowledge or even preparation for future functionalities can cause mobile applications to consume hardware resources incorrectly allocated to both the application user's need and the domain for which it was developed. Focusing on the identification of permissions' profiles, the correct use of resources and the way the application is implemented, this research proposes a method that involves Google Play Store data collection, to use techniques like clustering and visualization, which will provide to device manufacturers, mobile application developers, and researchers a simple way to compare and analyze mobile applications that use similar features. To evaluate the method, a case study related to the energy consumption of mobile applications was conducted, which proves its effectiveness in this type of analysis.

Significações acerca do currículo formador - egressos(as) do curso de licenciatura em Educação Física
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-12-12) Lopes, João Pedro Goes; Pinheiro, Rosa Aparecida; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6292207464385037; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6596971826889695
The present work has as its central problem the meanings of undergraduates in the initial formation in Physical Education about their educational curriculum, from the perspective of the theoretical framework of Cultural Studies in its poststructuralist version. Initially, there is a contextualization of higher education in Physical Education demonstrating its growth, as well as the expansion of this educational level in Brazil - with emphasis on private higher education. Language gains central prominence and it is from it that one explores the concept of culture and that of meanings. The methodology was based on two main moments: document analysis and semi-structured interviews with four graduates from two private institutions in the interior of São Paulo. The documentary analysis uses as a subsidy the Pedagogical Political Project of each institution in which the graduates studied were formed, as well as the analysis of the National Curriculum Guidelines of the Physical Education courses, which establishes directives to the training courses of this institution. modality. It is emphasized its importance in generating data for analysis, as well as to support the construction of the script of semi-structured interviews, for which graduates who work in the field of Physical Education degree were selected and, based on their speeches. , analyzed specific meanings about your training curriculum. Regarding the documentary analyzes performed, we discuss firstly the formation and identification of the authors; the strong concern with the practical issue of the course; the lack of specificity in the definition of the field and their expectations regarding the aptitude of the graduates to work in education. With the analysis of the semi-structured interviews, the meanings shared by the graduates reveal that the degree, in relation to the bachelor, is always allocated in a less prominent space; which has a close connection with the market logic propagated by the curricular organization - the appeals are always for the constant movement (of the students and graduates or the curriculum itself), to the lag and incompleteness of the initial formation. “Always” and for individualism (for merit or failure); culminating in what is conventionally called the Salvationist continuum. It concludes by pointing out the gaps of the initial formation, the preponderance of the market logic and the weakness of the subjects related to the degree.

As birds are a well-known class of animals, occurring in almost all habitats, where they perform essential ecosystem functions, they are indicated as good bioindicators of ecosystem services (ES). Many services provided by birds arise through their ecological functions and their benefits are often transmitted indirectly, thus they are hardly understood or measured in terms of their contribution to human well-being. In this sense, this project aims to evaluate the relationship of the bird community with ES, not only the services promoted directly as birds, but also the ES of the environment itself that is related to its biodiversity. We selected 43 survey points distributed along riparian ecosystems, covering the entire Monjolinho River basin (São Carlos / SP), aiming to (1) analyze community structure in relation to the seasonality, land use and occupation influences, functional diversityand supply of ES; (2) to evaluate the seed disperser community with an improvement in the understanding of this ES provided by birds and its seasonal and spatial distribution in the study area; and (3) to investigate a relationship between bird richness and current state of ES as Cooling effect, air pollution retention and Nature-based recreation opportunities and their dynamic along an urbanization gradient. The results point to a well-structured community with 201 species and few seasonal variations, and remain with high richness at all points, even in urbanized areas. The functional diversity observed is linked to 8 ES types according to species’ ecological functions. The land use mapping showed a vast mosaic composed predominantly byanthropic areas such as agriculture and urbanization. The in-depth analysis of the seed dispersion ES, promoted by at least 39 species during two seasons, indicated significant changes in species composition and in taxonomic diversity and distinction between the rainy and dry seasons of the year, and higher quality of the dispersion service supply in environments with a higher proportion of native vegetation. The study over the relationship between bird richness and ES showed a significantly positive relationship between bird richness, air pollution retention and microclimate regulation, and negative with the recreation opportunities. These results can be used as a basis for better urban planning and for the definition of priority areas for environmental enrichment in order to expand the ES supplyas a guarantee of biodiversity conservation and increase in the human well-being.

In organizations, knowledge is already assumed as a strategic asset, as well as an explanatory variable for their performance and growth. Thus, it is considered that the diffusion and acquisition of knowledge determine the innovative potential of companies. In this context, this paper aimed to select the Absorptive Capacity (BB) Buildings Blocks (BBs) through the Systematic Review Literature (SRL) and validate them through econometric models for developing and developed economies. The research also identifies possible thresholds of these BBs using the fixed effects threshold model in panel data (2007-2015). The results show that BBs and their respective most significant thresholds for developed countries are not, in fact, the most important for emerging and developing countries, as groups have different socioeconomic conditions and therefore assume that each group has BBs that are more expressive.

Studies in Science, Technology and Society (STS) arose amid questions about the role of science and the use of technology in society, and its main purpose is to elucidate theories and methods that address the relationships between these three strands. One of the issues that raises the most concern in the scientific community, and affects society as a whole, concerns social and environmental problems, which are taking on increasing proportions even though there are legal provisions to mitigate them. In this arrangement of intense relationships, involving society and the environment, an important theory of the STS field arises that discusses the mutual influence exerted by human and non-human actors: the Actor-Network Theory, whose precursor is Bruno Latour. Supported by this theory and guided by the guidelines of a Brazilian Environmental Education program, this research proposes the formation of a network of social actors to face social and environmental challenges in a community in the city of Uberaba, located in Minas Gerais State, Brazil, in which society is invited to reflect on their reality and to act on relevant issues that impact its environment. The main objective of this study was to characterize the role of these actors in conducting the desired transformations, taking a close look at the organizational capacity of society during the confrontations. Based on the participatory action research methodology, network mediations were constituted by the stages of diagnosis, social mobilization and field intervention, involving community, schools, churches, universities, cooperatives, public authorities, among other agents. The results indicated that although society has the potential to overcome socio-environmental challenges, it is still unable to perpetuate the necessary transformations due to its dependence on government initiatives that, in turn, do not prioritize collective and participatory actions focused on socio-environmental confrontations. In addition, another aggravating scenario refers to environmental education, which is largely characterized by pragmatic actions, with little investment in actions based on critical thinking. In view of this, it can be concluded that although society is aware of the social and environmental challenges, its organizational capacity to face them requires, on the one hand, further dialogue between social actors and, on the other, educational processes that contemplate historical contexts about the social and environmental crisis and encourage the exercise of social control.

Shared attention (SA) is considered a milestone in child development. One of the most mentioned components in the literature for children starting SA is eye contact. The study of SA in young children with visual impairment is scarce and limited, suggesting the following questions: What are the behavioral dimensions of shared attention in the interaction between an adult and a young child with visual impairment? Is it possible to define theoretically and empirically what are the components of shared attention when the visually impaired child is involved in the interaction? To answer these questions, three studies were developed: the first aimed to characterize the components of shared attention of young children with visual impairment found in the definitions and in the method of empirical research conducted with this population. To achieve this goal, a systematic literature review produced between the 1980s and 2017 was carried out. The methodology used attended Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyzes/PRISMA requirements and resulted in 2,919 manuscripts survey theme of shared attention, 288 occurred with targeted participants by special education and 28 of them shared attention with visual impairment children. The result of the analysis of indicated studies addressed predominantly themes: definition of Shared Attention (N = 15); Limits of Shared Attention (N = 8); Maternal Interaction (N = 4) and Perspective Taking (N = 3). The main components highlighted in publications were touch/touch and communication when related to caregiver's interaction with the child. Many components descriptions of shared care found in publications about children with visual impairments brought difficult to identify and characterize the behavioral dimensions, especially components function indicated by studies. Therefore, Study 2 sought to empirically identify the behavioral components performance of initiating and responding to children with low vision in episodes of shared attention with an adult during free play. The study included 27 dyads (small and responsible child) recruited from an Educational Assistance Center Specialized in Visual Disability in Curitiba - PR. The instruments used were: Participants Protocol Characterization by Parents/Guardians; Brazil Criterion Questionnaire; Operationalized Portage Inventory; Transcription Protocols and Functional Analysis Protocol for Episodes of Shared Attention and analysis software adapted to OpenPose Realtime Multi-Person 2D Pose. The dyads were filmed in play situations for up to 10 minutes. The video recordings were edited with excerpts suppression from the beginning to the end recordings, totaling three minutes editing for each dyad. Videos descriptions and analyzes were carried out by completing the Transcription Protocols and Functional Analysis Protocol of Shared Attention Episodes. After observing and categorizing the SA behaviors in free inspection, video recordings were submitted to OpenPose programming treatment, in order to observe points of convergence between the guardian and the child in relation to the object and presented behaviors. The results indicated with the analysis using contingency of three, we have how much the OpenPose program was effective in identifying the SA behaviors of young children with low vision. Initiate a behavior SA most observed by those responsible were speech, hand movements and directives; for children and responding behaviors to SA were vocalization, conversation, responding orally and looking towards the source of the sound. The results presented by participants were in accordance with literature, as well as the result indicating that children were less likely to initiate shared attention. It is concluded that children components who shared attention with visual impairment are similar to those described for children in general. Additional research may help to refine the analysis procedures to advance the characterization of the phenomenon. In order to verify which components of initiating and responding to shared attention are presented by the child with low vision in a situation of structured activity, Study 3 was carried out: the participants in this study were 14 children selected from the 27 who undertook Study 2. The selection criterion was the child not to have completed four years and to be enrolled in the specialized institution. The instrument used was an unsystematic adaptation of Early Social Communication Skills - ESCS. The task materials that referred to shared attention were adapted/replaced by others with sound and light so that the children could access and carry out the activity. Original objective tasks proposed by the scale were preserved. Tasks were organized with reference to triple contingency. Results indicated that children with visual impairment had more behavior classes of responding to shared attention than of initiating shared attention. The ESCS behavioral observation protocol provided effective measures to identify SA components, as well as to verify children performance with low vision in tasks that evaluated the IAC and the RAC. Material adaptation and specific insertion components for SA behavior identification in children with DV were essential to obtain results. The thesis was concluded by stating that three studies contributed to describe shared care components with visual impairment children. Despite the effort to analytically break down aspects of shared care between the visually impaired child and their caregiver, it is necessary to invest in studies that detail and expand the findings of these studies. The lack of consensus in literature on shared care components, associated with conceptual problems and data collection methodological compatibility and analysis, limited discussion scope about this research results. Realization of other modalities of functional analysis, supplementary and complementary to those carried out here, may indicate new directions for consolidating behavioral components identification that establish the bases of shared attention in children with visual impairment.

We address the Constrained Guillotine Cutting Problems (CGCP) in this doctoral thesis. The CGCP consist of producing items from objects using guillotine cuts, i.e., cuts that divide the rectangular materials into two rectangular sub-objects without restricting the number of guillotine stages, and with a limitation over the maximum number of copies per item type to be cut from the object. New linear mathematical formulations are proposed for the Constrained Two-dimensional Guillotine Cutting Problem (C2GCP). The first proposed formulation is based on object discretization, which is also extended to deal with 2-staged and 1-group patterns, and a Benders decomposition algorithm is developed from it. Two other formulations are proposed to the C2GCP, based on the concept of successive combination of copies of item types and sub-patterns, i.e., the bottom-up approach; from the proposed additional constraints, these models strictly deal with d-staged cutting patterns, where d is a positive integer scalar. Two extensions of the C2GCP are also addressed in this thesis. The first extension is the Constrained Two-dimensional Guillotine Cutting Problem with Defects (C2GCP-D). The linear model and the Benders decomposition algorithm, both based on object discretization, are extended to deal with this variant, and then a new solution method based on Constraint Programming is developed. The second extension is the Constrained Three-Dimensional Guillotine Cutting Problem (C3GCP), which is addressed by models and by a tree-search algorithm. All these proposed approaches are evaluated through computational experiments, using instances of the literature or randomly generated ones, and compared to another approaches in the literature. Despite the applicability of these problems, the literature took more than three decades to present mathematical formulations to the CGCP. Therefore, this thesis contributes to new formulation paradigms for the CGCP and effective methods to solve them, which are competitive with those known in the literature.

Pneumococcus surface protein A (PspA) is a lactoferrin-binding protein that can be found on the surface of Streptococcus pneumoniae. The use of this protein as a carrier in the formulation of conjugate vaccines contributes to the protection against infections such as pneumonia, sinusitis and meningitis. Recently, the Butantan Institute developed a purification process for PspA4Pro produced by cultures of Escherichia coli BL21 (DE3) pET37b + PspA4Pro. Although the results achieved in terms of purity were satisfactory, it was observed a significant loss of the product during the purification, especially in anion exchange chromatography, the most expensive step in the downstream process. In this context, the present work aims to model and simulate this operation, developing an applicable methodology to model complex mixtures. In the first stage of this work, clarified cell extracts obtained from E. coli biomass produced under different cultivation conditions were purified. Anion exchange chromatography was performed on the Akta Avant 150 system and the samples were analyzed by Bradford methodology and band densitometry. The process was modeled by the EMSO software (Environment for modeling, simulation and optimization) and the modified Langmuir and the steric mass action isotherms were separately tested along with the equilibrium dispersive model to estimate the parameters and validate the models, proving to be adequate to simulate the process. The steric mass action isotherm was also used to simulate the chromatography of a virtual sample, with the parameters of PspA4Pro and the protein impurities separately adjusted. The simulation results were compared with the results of an experimental elution. In both cases it was observed that PspA4Pro eluted at the beginning of the peak, showing similarity between the simulation and experiment profiles and allowing to establish an alternative purification scheme that provided PspA4Pro at a purity of 82.8%, representing an increase of 34% when compared to the original purification process. In the second stage of this work, different experiments involving modifications in ionic elution forces and in the processed protein mass were tested on the column and a cross-validation methodology was applied. Simulations demonstrated that the chromatographic column could process twice the protein without loss of quality of the obtained PspA4Pro. These results were experimentally confirmed, providing a specific yield of 22 x 10-3 g PspA4Pro.mLresin-1 with purity of 81.2%, which was higher than the specific yield of 10 x 10-3 gPspA4Pro.mLresin-1 with purity of 73,9% obtained at the original process. In the last stage of this work, the cross validation methodology was once again used to separately estimate the PspA4Pro and the protein impurities parameters. The results of the simulations once again showed the tendency of PspA4Pro to elute at the beginning of the peak, but in variable profiles according to the applied ionic force, enabling the identification of alternative elution strategies. The best results were obtained by applying lower ionic forces, leading to a significant increase of purity (91.0%) without reduction of specific yield (9.7 x 10-3 gPspA4Pro.mLresin-1). The conclusions of this work show that it is possible to use mathematical models to describe chromatographic processes and to increase efficiency, even when complex mixtures are being processed, such as cell extracts with recombinant proteins. This approach facilitates systematic process analysis and allows a better understanding of actual purification operations.

This paper discusses the formation of the Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) / Portuguese Language interpreter, whose presence interferes with the psychological care provided to the signaling deaf patient in Libras. We analyzed the data obtained by the questionnaire, in order to score contributions regarding the role of TILSP in the health context. To carry out the work we brought clippings to illustrate our questions regarding mainly the formation of TILSP, as well as the emotional balance established within the therapeutic setting. However, the qualitative research was developed from the exploratory research methodology that according to Gil 2002, “Qualitative analysis depends on many factors, such as the nature of the collected data, [...], defining this process as a sequence of activities ”. Therefore, the work produced in addition to promoting the discussion of the formation of the TILSP professional in the health context, also aims to present some contributions about the role of the interpreter in the therapeutic context through the participants' reports. The work is organized in three main chapters in order to collaborate with the promotion of research that relates the interpreter of Libras in the context of psychology. Therefore, we identified that the participation of TILSP in the deaf community and deaf associations is indispensable. the search for complements in training. Finally, it is relevant that the professionals involved should qualify in order not to harm the main character who is the deaf person at any time, and should seek to improve their training in congresses, research area, articles, so that in practice can apply your knowledge and provide a better result of your work.

The present work aims to analyze how the movie The Others (2001), by Alejandro Amenábar, integrates and modernizes itself on the Freudian concept of Uncanny in the cinematic tradition of the gothic. The Uncanny is part of a sensitivity core, something that is awakened on the individual something that is awakened in the individual when they are confronted with a situation that diverges from their conscious understanding of the world. Gothic art, by transposing into the environment the psychological and emotional state of the individual, transforms into Uncanny what was once familiar, becoming the genre that best suits the Freudian concept. In addition, the gothic is responsible for the reflection of social trauma, a repressed essence that returns after being left in the shadows.

O olhar do intérprete educacional sobre o professor e as aulas de biologia
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-12-12) Matuhara, Yan Eiji; Santos, Lara Ferreira dos; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7312070448044165; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0423269209507957
The advent of school inclusion brought the presence of deaf students to regular schools. In order to maintain quality, some measures had to be taken, such as the regularization of the profession of the educational interpreter, the professional responsible for mediating communication between deaf and hearing people. However, the Brazilian Sign Language, Libras, is very recent in our country, and several specific terms from the academic world are still not dictionized or are being created. Biology is one of those areas that, in addition to being full of specific terminology, has non-visible or even microscopic contents. Considering that the interpreter has a generalist training, we aim to find out what are the main difficulties they face when interpreting, as well as the strategies and resources they use to overcome them, together with professionals who work in high school. In this qualitative and exploratory study, we interviewed and analyzed the discourse of two educational interpreters regarding their practice during biology classes. The interviews were carried out at the Federal University of São Carlos. The analyzes were built through the presentation of excerpts from the interview, with theoretical basis in studies on deafness and education. The results indicate difficulties in relation to the partnership with the regent teacher, with the necessary adaptations for deaf students and also with regard to the lack of specific lexicon in sign language. Given the findings, we highlight some possible strategies, but we emphasize the urgent need for further research, involving deaf people and biologists, so that the area of biology can be studied in depth. Only with a refined linguistic repertoire in specific areas will deaf people have equal opportunities and access to knowledge as hearing individuals.
