    Dynamic modeling and study of the response of three automated guided vehicles proposals

    The automatically guided vehicles (AGVs) are a technology widely used in industry for the trans portation of the most diverse products. Its advantages in speed, safety and logistics in warehouses or production lines are remarkable. Despite their frequent use, the academy approaches in AGVs are, generally, towards their automation, sensoring and locomotion trails, being little explored, for example, the manufacturing of prototypes and the study and developing of their suspension. Considering the application of AGVs in outdoor environments, such as sandy terrains or snow, the present work intends to investigate three models among those available in market, being: two of them of the unit load type (one with four driving wheels and the other with six wheels, being only the central pair driving) and the third one a forklift with four wheels. More specifically, the linear vertical displacement of the set load + chassis and the angular displacement (pitch) around their gravitational center are evaluated. To reach this, the state space method was applied together with the Matlab - Simulink software in order to obtain the responses in time domain for the inputs pulse, step and ramp. Frequency stability analyses also took place and were performed with the aid of Bode diagrams and maps of poles and zeros for the three systems. All concepts were proved stable, even though the damping (defined with support on literature) was found insufficient for the four-wheel models. Finally, it was verified for all cases that the pitch has more influence on the load then vertical displacement, which brings the need of optimizing damping and stiffness coefficients to attenuate such an effect or even implement an alternative control for the vehicles’ suspension. keywords: AGV, dynamic modeling, suspension, time response, Bode diagrams, stability

    Influência do manejo sobre espécies nativas com potencial madeireiro em sistemas agroflorestais no Portal da Amazônia

    We evaluated functional attributes of fifteen native tree species with timber potential in multi-stratified and biodiverse agroforestry systems implanted and managed by farmers, in recent agroforestry movement, in three municipalities of Portal da Amazônia (MT – Brazil), to provide subsidies and discuss how growth conditions and management can affect the potential for wood production of these species. For this, we verified how the growth conditions (full light, half-light or shade) and the intensity of thinning and pruning management (absent, moderate, intense) affect the functional attributes related to productivity (diameter, height, volume and crown width) and stem quality of native wood species grown in thirteen agroforestry systems. Generalized mixed model and principal component analysis (PCA) were carried out to verify the relationship between the variables analyzed, the environmental conditions and intensity of management. The results showed that individuals with higher biomass increases in areas with more incidence of light. The management did not affect the stem quality for any of the selected species, and only 18% of the individuals had good stem quality. We grouped the species by their mean values of their functional attributes, and ranked the best for each management intensity. The most suitable species for areas poorly managed in relation to the stem quality were Colubrina glandulosa, Sterculia striata, Cedrella fissilis, Dipteryx odorata and Astronium urundeuva; for intensively managed areas were Schizolobium parahyba, Sterculia striata, Samanea tubulosa, Dipteryx odorata and Tabebuia Gomes ex DC. Complementary studies are needed on the effect of management and light requirement on agroforestry systems, to realize the wood potential of the species evaluated in this study.

    Aging in concomitance with frailty can overload health and social assistance systems that target elderly people. Assessing them in the context of social vulnerability will contribute data for decision making and improvement of actions and proposals of the equipment that serve these individuals. The main objective of the study was to analyze the fragility of elderly people living in neighborhoods with social vulnerability and registered in CRAS in relation to life quality, cognition, health perception, support, family and social relationships. The secondary objective was to analyze the burden of family caregivers and limitations/difficulties in providing care for the elderly. This is a transversal study, observational and analytical, using the quantitative and qualitative method of investigation. The following techniques were applied: observation, semi-structured interview and use of assessment and screening instruments for biopsychosocial conditions of elderly people and family caregivers. The instruments applied to elderly participants were the Edmonton Frail Scale to assess frailty, WHOQOL – bref and WHOQOL-old to verify quality of life, The Montreal Cognitive Assesstment to track cognitive impairment, Genogram, Ecomap and Medical Outcomes Study to verify support and social support network. The instruments applied to caregiving participants were the Zarit Burden Interview to assess the caregiver's burden, Subjective Fragility to verify the frailty condition of the elderly person being cared for and three open questions about the care process. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics with the creation of frequency tables, position and dispersion measures for the quantitative. Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis tests or Fisher's exact test were used for comparison between groups to compare categorical variables. Qualitative data were analyzed using a content analysis method. The study included 70 elderly people registered in CRAS and 18 family caregivers of elderly people registered in CRAS. Most elderly participants (n = 70) were women (87.14%), with a mean age of 72.57 years (sd = 7.52), white (51.42%), catholic (60%), widowed (45.72%), retired (51.42%), with incomplete elementary schooling (64.29%). As for fragility, 37.20% were fragile at some level. Of the frail elderly, 47.05% had an indication of cognitive decline. There was a strong negative correlation between frailty and quality of life in the physical domain (-0.667; p <0.001) and moderate in the psychological domain (-0.586; p <0.001). In the qualitative analyzes, three categories emerged: family arrangements and relationships of elderly people, welcoming and mourning relationships and social support. Most of the participants in family caregivers (n = 18) were women (88.8%), with a mean age of 59 years (sd = 12.13), married (77.7%), without individual income (72.2 %) and unemployed (72.2). As for the frailty self-perceived by the elderly person's caregiver, 88.8% of the elderly cared for are considered fragile. Regarding the assessed overload, 66.6% had some overload. As for reports of difficulties in care, 77.7% of respondents said they felt some difficulty in caring. In the qualitative analyzes carried out from the report of family caregivers, 2 categories emerged: forms of care and difficulties in the care process. The results demonstrate that fragile elderly people have a worse quality of life, in the physical and psychological domain and need assistance to perform activities of daily living. Family caregivers were overwhelmed and had several difficulties in their care tasks. Qualitative data point to influences from the family nucleus on the quality of life of elderly people, which may influence positively or negatively. The tensions identified from the analysis of reports from elderly participants and caregivers were related to the needs arising from sociodemographic and health conditions and types of support available to meet the different demands and may contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of public policies for this populational.

    Ex situ breeding and conservation programs have been established for endangered species with the objective of keeping populations self-sustainable and demographically stable, capable of to retain genetic diversity and avoid inbreeding depression. However, despite the success of In many of these programs, maintaining a species in captivity faces major challenges. The low number of individuals that originates the founding group and the reproduction between individuals related factors lead to the loss of genetic diversity and the increase of inbreeding in captive populations. To address these issues, some conservation programs have started to combine traditional analyzes, based on the genealogical records of the species (Studbook), with genetic-molecular approaches. This information can be used even to integrated in situ and ex situ management, which facilitates decision-making that translocations and / or the creation of priority conservation areas, and, eventually, introductions of captive animals in the wild. In this context, the present work analyzed the diversity genetics of free-living and captive groups of the black lion tamarin Leontopithecus chrysopygus, a species of endangered primate, endemic to the Atlantic Forest of São Paulo, which has been kept in captivity as an alternative strategy for their conservation, through markers microsatellites. The data demonstrate that captive management is succeeding in avoid homozygosis, since the Ho values ​​have also remained higher than those of the He after nine generations. The values ​​of Fis, He, Ho did not show significant differences between 2014 and 2018, however, there was a significant decrease in allelic wealth in Brazilian groups, demonstrating that loss of alleles is occurring over the generations. Kinship analyzes for captive groups confirmed the relationships described in Studbook; and the genetic structuring analyzes demonstrated the existence of a captive ex situ metapopulation. As for the groups in situ, differences were evidenced significant differences in the levels of genetic diversity calculated for populations belonging to three distinct fragments. The values ​​observed for the inbreeding coefficient, however, were similar, showing an excess of heterozygote and probably a behavior flight tendency from inbreeding. The genetic structuring analyzes showed that the three free-living populations analyzed in this study are structured and have strong genetic differentiation. When the ex situ and in situ groups were compared, it was verified existence of population structure.

    The research has as main theme the music in the pedagogical work with babies and young children, being covered based on the following problem question: what are the ways and meanings that music can have in the pedagogical work with the baby and young child in the daycare center? Considering the importance of pedagogical work with music since early childhood for the formation of the human being in an integral perspective, the study concerns arose from observations of working with music in a daycare center in the period from 2018 to 2020 in the city of Salto de Pirapora, São Paulo. The nature of the research is qualitative, being characterized as a case study, and consists of the following excerpts: the first chapter brings a memorial that reports the author's musical experiences from childhood to the moment of the construction of this work; Chapter II discusses the methodology; the third Chapter presents the theoretical framework in three parts, which are about the concept of the baby and the young child today, the possibilities of working with musical language in childhood and the importance of the repertoire of children and cultures of childhoods; in the fifth Chapter the analysis of the field observations is made. The research results point to the following main verifications: it is up to educators to provide children with moments of exploration of different materials and repertoires that contemplate the breadth of cultural diversity; pedagogical planning must recognize the child as a participant, creative and creative being; in order to build a humanizing education, the music practice at school should not be based on models on how to do, but rather encourage children to carry out their own research and exploration of the sonorous and musical universe.

    Desempenho produtivo e qualidade da água em um sistema de aquaponia contendo tilápias em diferentes densidades de cultivo, alfaces e macrófitas aquáticas

    The continuous growth of the world population and the consequent increase in the demand for food and water imply the need for greater production of food and requires investment in research as more productive and environmentally responsible farming systems. The integrated system of fish and vegetable production, called aquaponia, allows the reuse of nutrients present in the residual water of fish farming and which would be discarded from the system, in the growth of vegetables, providing the reuse of water in the cultivation of fish. In this context, the objective of this research was to evaluate an aquaponics system, by determining the ideal stocking density of Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus, and the quality of the water and removing nutrients from the fish effluent by the vegetable Lactuca sativa L. e by the aquatic macrophyte Landoltia punctata, aiming at its best technical and productive performance. The productive performance of fish and vegetables was evaluated, as well as their nutritional quality and the quality of water and removal of nutrients through the use of macrophytes in the tertiary treatment system. The study was conducted in experimental modules installed at the Symbiotec Aquaponics Laboratory - Aquicultura e Sistemas Integrados de Produção Ltda. in Piracicaba - SP. The results showed that different densities of cultivation of Oreochromis niloticus, as well as the introduction of the macrophyte Landoltia punctata in the treatment system, did not interfere in the productive performance of the fish, evidencing the viability of raising tilapia in high density integrated (32 kg/m³) with the hydroponic lettuce system, with water recirculation. The association between the nitrifying bacteria in the biofilter, the hydroponic cultivation of lettuce and the introduction of the macrophytes Landoltia punctata proved to be efficient in treating the effluent of the intensive fish farming system and maintaining the quality of the water necessary for the cultivation of tilapia, mainly reducing ammonia levels, toxic to fish. As for the lettuce productivity, it was found that the residual water from the tilapia farming system proved able to provide sufficient quantities of almost all the nutrients necessary for the good development of lettuce in hydroponic cultivation, thus dispensing the need for supplementation with chemical fertilizers, but only the T4 treatment (114 g of feed/m2 of vegetable cultivation) showed results compatible with that expected in commercial production.

    INTRODUCTION: It is extremely important that community health workers have a broad understanding of aging and the elderly. Therefore, the aggregation of knowledge related to aging and the adherence to actions in this area are of great importance for training, professional qualification and continuing education, which enables a greater bond with the elderly. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate knowledge about old age and to analyze the contribution of audiovisual material about old age, frailty and care for the elderly in a city in the interior of São Paulo. METHOD: This is an exploratory study with a quantitative approach. Seven members of the health teams from the Family Health Units participated in the study, of both sexes, under the attention of the Family Health Center (NASF) in the city of São Carlos. They were evaluated using the Palmore-Neri-Cachione instrument (Cachione, 2002) that assesses the knowledge of professionals about aging and the elderly and 3 videos were presented on specific themes of aging and the elderly, elaborated for this study by the self. The data in this study were coded and organized in a Microsoft Excel database. Descriptive statistics were used, as measures of central tendency (simple frequency, average, median, minimum and maximum). RESULTS: The average number of correct answers was 10.2%, with a scale of less than or equal to 11 being described as having little or less gerontological knowledge. The results presented in the satisfaction survey, indicate that the videos made a lot of contribution regarding the topics covered. The average satisfaction was 6.6 points. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: lack of adequate qualification on the themes explored. In addition, the construction of audiovisual material on topics related to frailty in the elderly, stereotypes about old age and long-term care has made contributions so that professionals have greater contact with the subject and, consequently, more knowledge

    Spintherobolus papilliferus Eigenmann, 1911: a redescoberta de uma espécie de peixe ameaçada de extinção (Characiformes, Characidae)

    The Atlantic Forest is one of the most relevant forests worldwide, housing approximately 5% of all vertebrate diversity and 7% of known species of plants. There are over 350 fish species within its rivers and streams, roughly 38% of which are endemic of this biome. Such is the case of Spintherobolus papilliferus, a critically endangered tropical Characidae. S. papilliferus is defined by five autapomorphies and is currently classified as sister to all other species of the genus. Until recently, few specimens of S. papilliferus were known, mostly from sparse locations in the Upper Rio Tietê basin around the metropolitan area of São Paulo, and from an affluent of Rio Itapanhaú, a coastal stream in the city of Bertioga, SP. In 2019, specimens of S. papilliferus were registered from Rio Ribeira de Iguape basin in Juquitiba, SP, representing a new record in the geographic distribution of the species. In the present study, 17 morphometric and 6 meristic data from all eight specimens were analysed, confirming its identification. For comparison, 10 specimens from the Upper Rio Tietê and 7 from Rio Itapanhaú previously deposited in ichthyological collections were also analysed. A great overlap in the morphological data from the three populations was detected, except for eye diameter, body depth and caudal-peduncle depth. A MANOVA analysis revealed that the Ribeira de Iguape population differs significantly from the other two in these characters, showing less deep body and caudal peduncle. We suggest that these morphological differences may be due to environmental selective pressures, at least partially, since Rio Ribeira drainage is marked by fast waters which can influence the shape of fish bodies over time. In addition, we present herein a hypothesis for the disjunct distribution of S. papilliferus in the light of recent geological events such as headwater capture. Future genetic studies may bring new evidence concerning the evolution and biogeography of the genus and its species.

    It is understood that racism and sexism are markers of the Brazilian social structure and play an extremely important role in the constitution of the country's inequalities and exclusions. These are social problems that historically reflect on the daily lives of the black population. One of the reflexes brought up by this question is the minority number of black students entering higher education and the difficulty of staying in universities. The project Safe Space: host and coping strategies to everyday violence of racism and sexism [Espaço seguro: acolhimento e estratégias de enfrentamento às violências cotidianas do racismo e do machismo] aimed to understand what are the impacts of racism on the daily lives of black university students, as well as their individual strategies to resist racial inequality within the academic environment . Thus, a group was formed to develop collective activities, and listening spaces for mapping and welcoming situations related to the daily racism experienced by participants. The knowledge in occupational therapy and the powers brought by human activities were used as tools for building these Collective Meetings. The project seeks to contribute to the construction of institutional proposals and policies, changes in the context of epistemic inequality, the effectiveness of affirmative action policies and student permanence and, consequently, the construction of a more egalitarian higher education environment. The present work is composed of the contextualization of racism in Brazil and Higher Education, propositions of occupational therapy that contribute to affirmative actions, reports and reflections on the experiences of Espaço Seguro in 2019

    A variação da diversidade de microcrustáceos (Cladocera e Copepoda) a jusante de pequenos reservatórios é influenciada por táxons litorâneos

    The project consisted of analyzing the fate and dilution of zooplankton assemblages downstream of the reservoirs and streams of the UFSCar Lagoa do Sino campus. We evaluated how ecological attributes change downstream of two reservoirs, in short and/or nycthemeral cycles due to vertical migration effects of zooplankton. The hypotheses tested were: (i) zooplankton dilution occurs from the reservoir, with loss of abundance and diversity; (ii) the behavior is similar in both reservoirs, because the distance is similar even with contrasting vegetation cover and velocity; (iii) the effect of the abrupt reduction of water in the stream as a disturbance does not cause an increase in diversity, due to the small size of the system in terms of flow rate and length of the lotic stretches. A total of 8 points were sampled in each section, 1 in the lentic zone of each reservoir and 6 longitudinally downstream in two sections of the same stream, as it is a cascade system. Sampling was carried out twice during one year, with collections being made every 6 hours for two consecutive days in each campaign. Zooplankton was obtained by filtering 400 liters of surface water through a conical plankton net with a 68-μm mesh opening. Limnological variables were measured by a multiparameter probe. The results show the presence of littoral taxa coming from the reservoirs, and there was an increase in littoral taxa residing in the streams. It can be concluded that there was a dilution of species abundance downstream of the streams, but richness and diversity remained stable due to the contribution of littoral taxa.
