    The present research aimed to investigate how the Municipal Education System of Bauru has interpreted and translated national public policies for IE, and how these influenced the conceptions and directions assumed for playing expressed in its municipal document. Through documentary analysis of the notebooks produced by the Coordination of Early Childhood Education - COEDI and by the Secretariat of Fundamental Education - SEF (BRASIL, 1994-1998), the National Curriculum Reference for Early Childhood Education - RCNEI (BRASIL, 1998) and the National Curriculum Guidelines for Early Childhood Education - DCNEI (BRASIL, 2009), and the Pedagogical Proposal for Early Childhood Education of the Municipal Education System of Bauru (PASQUALINI; TSUHAKO, 2016), sought to understand how the main socio-historical, political and theoretical milestones influenced public policies for Brazilian early childhood education, and the defended conceptions and guidelines for playing. The theoretical framework for studies on playing is supported by the Historical-Cultural Theory, and the methodological framework is inspired by the Policy Cycle Approach (BOWE; BALL; GOLD, 1992, 1994). The results presented from the contexts of influences, text production and context of practice point to distances and similarities between public policies for national and municipal early childhood education. This study is part of the research line “Assessment and public policies in early childhood education”, of the study group EDIPIC- Early Childhood Education and Small Childhood in Context, at Federal University of São Carlos/SP.

    Mídias sociais, cultura pop e divulgação científica: um estudo do canal Nerdologia

    It is highlighted some of the main aspects of scientific dissemination, the act of communicating science to the public, being the social media, one of the vehicles part of this communication, such as the YouTube platform. In this sense, it proposes to analyze the Nerdologia channel as an integral part of this platform, being a channel focused on entertainment and dissemination of scientific knowledge through elements of pop culture. The study sought to identify the models of public communication of science in order to investigate the methods that the channel uses to communicate science with the public, its strategies, its main elements, and tools of disclosure, which had as sampling reference, the selection of the 50 most accessed videos between the years 2013 to 2019, in addition to contextualizing the public communication of science and the discussion involving the field of Science, Technology and Society, being the study area in which the present research focuses. The methodology used was Content Analysis that assisted in the processes of treatment and analysis of the data and information. The results obtained revealed the science communication models that focus respectively on the "Koru" model of Longnecker, also linked to informal education, and the "contextual" model of Lewenstein, in addition to the style of scientific dissemination, being classified as "independent". The research also addressed the issue of the aesthetic and sound elements of the channel and its discursivities. It was concluded that the Nerdologia channel seeks to disseminate and teach science in an implicit and independent way, using visual and sound resources as strategies to obtain greater views in their videos, always aiming at the context of their audience, as consumers of products of the Cultural Industry as part of Pop Culture.

    Reduzindo o custo do teste de mutação com base no conceito de arcos primitivos

    Context: Software testing plays an important role in quality assurance. Testing techniques and criteria help the tester to develop and assess test suites. Mutation testing is a fault-based testing criterion commonly used to evaluate the quality of test suites. However, a high computational cost to generate and execute the mutants and the existence of equivalent prevent mutation testing to be widely applied in practical situations. In this sense, it is important to propose studies to overcome such problems. Objective: This work presents an approach that combined mutation testing and the concept of primitive arcs, used in the context of control-flow testing criteria, to reduce the cost of mutation testing. Overall, the goal was to verify if the execution of a subset of mutants located on the primitive arcs of a program under testing reduces the number of mutants and maintains a high mutation score. Next, this work evaluated the relationship between minimal mutants and primitive arcs. If both hypotheses confirm, it is possible to design new testing criteria based on the results obtained. Method: This work presented an experimental study to evaluate the proposed approach. To carry out the experiment, this work considered a set of 29 programs in C already used in other studies involving mutation testing. Results: The results showed that the approach reduced the number of mutants and achieved a high mutation score. Besides, the results showed that the primitive arcs concentrated a high percentage of minimal mutants. Then, the approach was compared to random mutation. The results showed that mutation on primitive arcs was slightly better than random mutation. Finally, this work presents a set of testing criteria based on the results obtained. Conclusion: Although powerful to detect faults, mutation testing still requires some improvements to large use in industry. The proposed approach may guide further works once the results obtained showed that the combination of mutation testing and primitive arcs might be a promising alternative. Thus, a broad experimental study using industry level programs and different test suites, may bring different results and hence, bring some contribution to the community.
