Item type:Item, Caracterização do desgaste do rebolo na retificação de insertos de metal duro(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-03-09) ;Rodrigues, Aristóteles Guido ;Ventura, Carlos Eiji Hirata ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1689198421096127https://lattes.cnpq.br/7952861067827367The cutting tool manufacturing industry constantly seeks to improve its products, due to the high competition in this sector. In this scenario, cemented tungsten carbide cutting inserts stand out for their wide application, related to their excellent cost-benefit ratio in the machining of diverse types of metals. Thus, an increasing knowledge of their manufacturing process variables and their effects is required, being the grinding operation a fundamental step in the search for high efficiency of cutting inserts, as it is responsible for providing the final dimensions as well as appropriate surface and edge quality. Within this context, the present work aims to characterize the wear of a diamond grinding wheel during grinding of cemented tungsten carbide inserts and to assess its effects on the insert surface characteristics with the increase in total material removal volume. For this, a resin bonded wheel with diamond grains D46 was applied and the normal and tangential force components were measured during the process. In addition, the grain protrusion in the abrasive grinding layer, the insert surface and edge roughness were analyzed. The obtained results revealed an initial reduction in the grain protrusion and the consequent increase in the grinding forces with the increase in the volume of removed material. With the grinding of larger volumes, however, the occurrence of self-sharpening was also observed, which led to increased grain protrusion and reduced forces. This phenomenon contributed to the increase in the number of active edges in the abrasive layer and caused a reduction in the insert surface roughness. Little or no variation in edge roughness was identified.Item type:Item, Síntese de complexos de Mg(II), atividade antioxidante e citotóxica(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-03-09) ;Santos, Josenilton de Jesus ;Carlos, Rose Maria ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1589143355309943https://lattes.cnpq.br/8905293463487217The objective of this work was to develop metal complexes containing natural products that have antioxidant activity to be applied in the cosmetics sector. For that, 3 [Mg(phen)2PN]+ metal complexes were synthesized and characterized, where phen = 1,10-phenanthroline and PN are the natural products: caffeic acid (caf), cinnamic (cin) and cinnamic 4-dimethylamino acid (dmaca). The characterizations of ligands and complexes were carried out by electron injection mass spectrometry, UV-Vis, infrared, and 1H NMR spectroscopic techniques. The antioxidant activity of the compounds was investigated in relation to electron and hydrogen atom transfer using the free radical DPPH. In these experiments, only free caffeic acid and its [Mg(phen)2(caf)]+ complex showed antioxidant activity in relation to DPPH. An indirect test to determine the ability of superoxide dismutase (SOD) to inhibit the reactions induced by the superoxide radical anion was performed. Using the riboflavin reduction method in the presence of methionine and induced by 420 nm light irradiation, the antioxidant capacity of the complexes in relation to the superoxide radical was evaluated. In this study, antioxidant activity was observed for the phenolic compounds caffeic acid (caf) and cinnamic 4-dimethylamino acid (dmaca), as well as for their respective [Mg(phen)2(caf)]+ and [Mg(phen)2(dmaca)]+ complexes, with the highest inhibition percentages of O2.- were observed for the complexes. The antioxidant activity in relation to singlet oxygen (1O2) was performed using the paramagnetic resonance (EPR) technique. For the [Mg (phen)2(caf)]+ complex the IC50 value was 5.0 μg mL-1 and for the [Mg(phen)2(dmaca)]+ the IC50 value was 7.5 μg mL-1. The complexes did not inhibit the activity of the enzyme acetylcholinesterase. MTT assays to estimate the cytotoxicity of complexes in A375 human melanoma cells indicated IC50 around 6 μM for the 3 complexes studied.Item type:Item, Terras Indígenas ou recursos naturais para o capital? o papel do Estado nos conflitos territoriais no Alto Xingu(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-03-09) ;Souza, Elierson Fernando de ;Franca, Gilberto Cunha ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/0983946781650048https://lattes.cnpq.br/9584864773213070This paper aims to analyze the role of the Brazilian State in territorial conflicts in the Xingu basin. To do so, we will make a geographic cut focusing on the Alto Xingu region, state of Mato Grosso, to present the problems present in this region that generate conflicts between the peoples of the Xingu Indigenous Park and the Soybean-producing Landowners. By using the epistemological basis of David Harvey's theory on the production of capitalist space in the 21st century, which, therefore, is a theoretical framework aimed at critical analysis on the process of capitalist territorialization in globalization, we will have a work related to political geography, reason why the territory will be the main category of geographic analysis applied to the study in question.Item type:Item, O uso de treino informatizado para ensinar professores a conduzirem Avaliação de Preferência de Escolha Pareada(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-03-09) ;Macedo, Viviane Alves de ;Goyos, Antônio Celso de Noronha ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/3407008711535651https://lattes.cnpq.br/0512314068392954Knowing a child's preferences can be an essential strategy to motivate the child to perform tasks in the classroom context. For this, it is important that teachers know how to apply tests to identify these items of preference, especially in children with delayed language development. The present research aims to develop a teaching assessment and test its effectiveness by training teachers in conducting a Paired-Choice Preference Assessment based on Animated Auto-Instructional Video. Two studies were carried out, both developed with Special Education teachers and carried out within a public school, with three participants for each study. In the first, it was tested in a pre and post-test design, in three different conditions (Condition A, Condition B and Condition C), if the Independent Variables (IV), called: 1) Animated Auto-Instructional Video and 2) Instructional Guide (IG), were responsible for modifying the Dependent Variable (DV), called: Conducting a Paired-Choice Preference Assessment. The performance results of the three participants demonstrated the effectiveness of the training performed through Animated Videos. The difficulty of all of them was evidenced in the performance, especially in what concerns the measurement and control of time by means of the stopwatch. The purpose of the second research was to teach teachers through Animated Auto-Instructional Videos (IV), using a multiple baseline design between subjects to measure, in repeated sessions, whether the Dependent Variable (DV), called: Conducting a Paired-Choice Preference Assessment, remains stable throughout the sessions. Three Special Education teachers who work in the Multifunctional Resource Room participated in this study. The repertoire of each subject was evaluated in three baseline sessions, applied before the manipulation of the variables. After the intervention, the repertoires of these participants were again evaluated in three sessions held under the same conditions as the baseline sessions applied previously. The results showed that all participants performed better in the intervention sessions. The performance related to the control and measurement of time using the stopwatch was superior to the performance presented in the first study.Item type:Item, O Data Catalog Vocabulary (DCAT) para a publicação de dados de pesquisa nos princípios Linked Data(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-03-10) ;Tomoyose, Kazumi ;Arakaki, Ana Carolina Simionato ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/9896600626524397https://lattes.cnpq.br/8794584054375201With the development of semantic technologies, the importance and the recognition of data as information sources grow. In this context, the data generated from researches are increasingly valued, since their publication allows the foundation of the results obtained with the scientific works, also helping in the production of new knowledge in a sustainable way. Thus, there is a need to organize these research data, so as to optimize their retrieval. For this purpose, vocabularies could be used. From the standardization of data representation, vocabularies allow data to be organized and retrieved efficiently. When considering the Web environment, the discovery of new data is also improved, using Linked Data principles, and the Data Catalog Vocabulary (DCAT) appears as a vocabulary aimed at describing catalogs and its datasets, seeking to favor their interoperability. The objective of the research is to analyze the characteristcs and fundamentals of the Data Catalog Vocabulary (DCAT) and the vocabularies adopted by it, for the publication of research data in the Linked Data principles, in order to identify the discussion on the subject in the literature and verify the use of it. Through exploratory, descriptive and theoretical research, it was possible to systematize and analyze the characteristics of the vocabularies, identifying that DCAT allows catalogs and datasets to be standardized, reducing ambiguity issues and providing the discovery of data and data services, since it has specific terms for this purpose. Thus, in line with Linked Data principles, the use of DCAT allows the benefits of sharing research data to be accomplished. An analysis of re3data platforms was also carried out in order to identify the current use of vocabulary by them, where we verified low adoption of DCAT. However, the results indicate the concern of these platforms with issues of findability, accessibility, interoperability and reuse, going against the Linked Data principles and the FAIR principles. The research revealed that there are few discussions about DCAT in the literature, especially in the scope of Information Science. Thus, we point to the need to better explore the possibilities of representing information in the context of research data. In addition, further discussions that align the knowledge of the area with the semantic tools and concepts applied to the Web enhance the benefits of finding, using and retrieving information, in addition to expanding and improving the knowledge and possibilities of information professionals' performance.Item type:Item, Modelos de regressão misto para resposta limitada usando distribuições do tipo Johson-SB(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-03-10) ;Piccirilli, Giovanni Pastori ;Bazán Guzmán, Jorge Luis ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7302778157579178https://lattes.cnpq.br/3537295929023333In this work, new properties, estimation methods, residual analysis and extensions are developed for regression models in the (0,1) interval considering the Johnson-SB type distributions (JSB). The extensions are zero-and-one inflated models and mixed regression models. New mixed-effects models for bounded longitudinal data in the interval $(0,1)$ based on the $JSB$ distributions are presented. The penalized likelihood estimators are obtained by maximizing the penalized likelihood and are computed by the Rigby and Stasinopoulos (RS) algorithm. From the Bayesian perspective, the No-U-Turn-Sampler (NUTS) is used to sample from the posterior distribution. Residual analysis is performed considering randomized quantile residuals. Simulation studies considering robustness to outliers from the distributions and extensions of the models to support 0 and 1 observations are presented. Three real data sets motivate the use of the new models. The first dataset contains the proportion of individuals vulnerable to poverty of the 645 municipalities from São Paulo state in Brazil and with no covariate. The second dataset incorporates the proportion of votes obtained by a political party in five Brazilian presidential elections, every four years, from 1994 to 2010, from the 75 municipalities from Sergipe state in Brazil. The third dataset comes from the public health area in Brazilian states. It contains the mortality rates from bronchial and lung cancer from the 27 Brazilian states over the last 30 years. The aim is to identify if factors like sex, age, and the Municipal Human Development Index of the state can influence the mortality rate. The $JSB$ mixed regression models and the Beta mixed model were applied. The $JSB$ mixed models display better values than the Beta mixed model for the model comparison criteria. The results and the residual analysis reveal that the $JSB$ models are an alternative to the Beta model.Item type:Item, Lidando com o inimigo: caracterização comportamental, molecular e cardiovascular de roedores resilientes e susceptíveis ao estresse de derrota social(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-03-10) ;Silva, Gessynger Morais ;Marin, Marcelo Tadeu ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7920438802539727https://lattes.cnpq.br/3204284578353385Despite the well-known correlation between prolonged stress and the development of diseases, not every individual exposed to stressful situations develops stress-related disorders. This individual difference could be related to their ability to cope with the adverse events, that is, their resilience or susceptibility to the stress. In the context, this work aimed to evaluate the differences between the resilient and susceptible phenotypes in an animal model of psychosocial stress exposure. In the chapter 1, we evaluated the behavioral, molecular and cardiovascular differences in the resilient and susceptible phenotypes to the social defeat stress (SDS) in rats, and the effect of the N-Acetylcysteine (N-AC) treatment in such alterations. In the chapter 2, we evaluated the role of the ventral pallidum Npas1+ neurons in the susceptibility to the SDS in mice. Using the repeated SDS exposure followed by the social interaction test (SIT), we identified Wistar rats as resilient or susceptible to the SDS in the chapter 1. The susceptible rats showed social avoidance, depressive-like behavioral alterations, long-term memory impairment and cardiovascular alterations related to the development of cardiovascular diseases. Except for memory impairment, resilient rats did not develop the alterations found in the susceptible phenotype, in addition to show cardiovascular alterations related to a protective effect from the stress consequences in the cardiovascular system. These two phenotypes showed distinct alterations in the expression of DeltaFosB and the cystine-glutamate exchanger in the brain. The N-AC treatment reverted the depressive-like behavioral alterations in the susceptible rats to the SDS, but did not altered the DeltaFosB expression related to the stress-coping phenotypes. In the chapter 2, we verified that the activation of the ventral pallidum Npas1+ neurons increased the susceptibility to the SDS in mice, in addition to increase the anxiety-like behaviors. These neurons projects to diverse encephalic areas important in the stress-response, especially the nucleus accumbens, ventral tegmental area and lateral habenula. In conclusion, susceptible rats to the SDS showed numerous behavioral and cardiovascular alterations after repeated stress exposure, which are absent in the resilient rats. Such alterations seem to be related to DeltaFosB expression in brain areas related to stress-response. The N-AC treatment in able to revert the behavioral alterations, besides not being effective to change the neuronal molecular alterations related to stress exposure. The SDS susceptibility could be related to the activity of the ventral pallidum Npas1+ neurons, since their activation increased the SDS susceptibility in mice.Item type:Item, Conjunto de dados de annealing aplicados a Termocronologia por traços de fissão em Zircão: estudo de caso de uma amostra brasileira(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-03-10) ;Sales, Antonio Said Webbe ;Silva, Adriana de Oliveira Delgado ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/2707979913713089 ;Dias, Airton Natanael Coelhohttps://lattes.cnpq.br/7070166380084691Fission Track Thermochronology (TTF) has been used for decades as a technique that makes it possible to date and infer the thermal history of rocks in regions of geological interest, from different minerals. The methodology is based on the study of fission tracks spontaneously generated by 238U or induced in a nuclear reactor by 235U, which after a chemical attack can be observed under an optical microscope. Specifically, this project focused on the study of the zircon mineral, which is a mineral that is very abundant in nature and that contains about dozens of ppm of uranium in its chemical composition. Therefore, it can be used as a thermochronometer in the TTF, where the density and length of the fission tracks in the mineral are useful for dating and inferring the thermal history of the rocks present on the Earth's surface. This is because the temperature to which this mineral has been exposed for millions of years causes the fission tracks to shorten. This phenomenon is known as annealing and can be better understood from kinetic models, known as annealing models. Such models use a data set that shows how the phenomenon interferes with fission tracks. The data set available for the calibration of TTF systems using NST zircon is extracted from a region that has a thermal history defined by a rapid cooling and the absence of a subsequent geological heating, being its dating from the Miocene geological era (~ 22 Ma). Therefore, the objective of this work is to obtain a new set of annealing data with zircons obtained from a region with a thermal history and geological era different from the NST zircon. For this, a sample of Poços de Caldas-MG was chosen, called ZPC whose dating back to the Mesozoic era (~ 80 Ma). Two aliquots were prepared: one containing only spontaneous fission traces (238U) and the other with only induced fission tracks (235U). Both aliquots were subjected to heating experiments for 1, 10 and 100 hours at a temperature between 500 and 800 ° C. The results showed the fission traces of the ZPC sample have behavior compatible with those of the sample commonly used by the scientific community. The new set of annealing data from the Brazilian sample was applied to annealing models and has potential as a data source for reconstructing thermal histories in regions of geological interest.Item type:Item, Os desafios políticos e pedagógicos no enfrentamento à evasão no Cursinho Educação e Cidadania(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-03-10) ;Pereira, Abner Santos ;Torres, Juliana Rezende ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/3083345943491817 ;Mendonça, Viviane Melo dehttps://lattes.cnpq.br/4827331651090223This paper the thecnical and pedagogic issues in Cursinho Educação e Cidadania (CEC) and also the consequences of the implementation of a political-pedagogical reorientation project, regarding the dropout of class and team. Merr.](Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-03-11) ;Costa, Josicleia Oliveira ;Wouters, Felipe Christoff ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4392349445398645https://lattes.cnpq.br/9469985968777626The soybean (Glycine max) is a legume species originally from China, belonging to the Fabaceae family. This crop is exposed throughout its cycle to attack by different species of insect pests, which can affect the plant development and, consequently, its productivity. Some studies classify flavonoids as relevant constituents in the defense of soybean against injury to herbivores. Despite the potential role of flavonoids against herbivores, little is known about the variability and spatial and temporal allocation of these defenses in soybean leaves and throughout its developmental stages. Therefore, this work aims to investigate the chemical profile of a commercial soybean cultivar, comparing the flavonoid profiles from different leaves over different developmental stages. Conventional soybean seeds BRS 284 were germinated and grown in a greenhouse. Samples of old, young and immature leaves from emergency stage (VC), cotyledon stage (VE), vegetative stages 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 (V1 to V5), and reproductive stages 1 and 2 (R1 and R2) were collected and extracted in 1:1 (v/v) methanol: water, and the extracts were analyzed by LC- MS. The main flavonoids of soybean leaves were identified by mass spectra and relatively quantified. During the developmental stages, higher levels of kaempferol mono, di and isomeric triglycerides found in immature and young leaves were found. The initial stages, emergency vegetative and coethylene vegetative, showed higher concentrations of isoflavones such as daidzein, genistein, glycitein and their glycoconjugates, which are more abundant in old leaves. The chemical profile and allocation dynamics of the studied flavonoids provide information on the different strategies used by the plant to allocate its resources, demonstrating that leaves of different ages differ in their composition, possibly according to their physiological and ecological context. Therefore, evidence of the role of constitutive flavonoids in the defense mechanism of soy will help in the development of methods that can contribute to agricultural productivity, adaptability and resistance to various stressors in a more sustainable way.Item type:Item, Avaliação do lasso e métodos alternativos em modelos de regressão logística(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-03-11) ;Alcântara Junior, Gilberto Pereira de ;Pereira, Gustavo Henrique de Araujo ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4536501674241631https://lattes.cnpq.br/1598281979751453Logistic regression has always been an important tool not only in the area of statistics, but also in several other areas such as economic, biological and medical. In many of these areas it is common to encounter problems of high dimensionality, in which the number of covariates to be tested is greater than the sample size. Classic estimation methods present certain problems in high dimensionality. One of the ways to solve this problem is the estimation by methods of penalty, as the lasso proposed by Tibshirani (1996). Despite the many works done on the application of lasso in the logistic regression model, none of them presents a complete study of simulation of the method's prediction performance using some traditional measure of performance evaluation. There are also no studies in the literature that compare the performance of other possible combinations made from lasso, such as lasso to select covariates and estimation via maximum likelihood, or selection via stepwise and estimation via lasso. In this work an extensive simulation study is presented under several scenarios created in order to study and compare the performance of the lasso and 3 other techniques combined in the logistic regression model. Several examples of applications in which the logistic model can be used were also studied and analyzed. Through the results obtained both by the simulations and by the applications, in relation to the predictive power, it was possible to verify that the lasso stood out or had similar performance to the other methods in all the presented scenarios. Regarding the comparison of the adjusted model with the real one, none of the methods considered stands out in all scenarios and in relation to all aspects analyzed.Item type:Item, Diversidade taxonômica e funcional das aves da Mata Atlântica sob influência da maior metrópole do hemisfério sul, São Paulo, Brasil(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-03-11) ;Melo, Marcos Antônio ;Piratelli, Augusto João ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4747322084219058https://lattes.cnpq.br/2184880129329313Urbanization creates one of the most irreversible forms of land use and occupation. Commonly, urbanization results in species losses and functional homogenization of bird communities, thus affecting the functioning of ecosystems. The objective of this thesis was to understand, in different ways, how the urbanization of São Paulo's megacity influences bird communities and ecological processes. In the first chapter, I evaluated how urban parks and residential areas contribute to the maintenance of bird communities and diversity of ecosystem functions compared to large forest fragments (source areas). The results show the need to maintain large areas of native forest on the city limits to preserve the rich avifauna and maintenance of ecosystem functioning. Urban parks next (<10 km) to the source areas show greater bird’s functional diversity, but not taxonomic, than those far away (> 10 km). Moreover, vegetation complexity can mitigate the impact of urbanization in urban habitats. In the second chapter, I evaluated how bird guilds and the entire community can be influenced by biotic-abiotic characteristics in São Paulo’s urban green areas. The results indicated the importance of large green areas with high shrub cover to shelter rich regional birdlife. On the other hand, small green areas should mitigate the possible negative impacts on birds related to glass panels, vehicle traffic and the presence of humans, dogs and cats, which can systematically eliminate functional groups and decrease the provision of ecosystem services provided by specialist guilds (frugivorous-nectarivorous and insectivorous) and also generalists. In the third chapter, I tested how species, functional groups and functional diversity indices respond to the amount of vegetation (normalized difference vegetation index, NDVI) and red clay roofs (RCR, a potential bird nesting site) in residential areas of the São Paulo megacity. The results indicate that combinations between high coverage of NDVI (> 0.5) and RCR can increase the occurrence of species and ecological functions in Neotropical cities. These results can guide environmental management measures and public policies aimed at the conservation of biodiversity and its ecosystem services (essential to human well-being) in different urban habitats.Item type:Item, Impactos da COVID-19 nas práticas de Experiência dos Pacientes em hospitais brasileiros: uma pesquisa de levantamento com os profissionais de saúde(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-03-12) ;Bernardo, Juliana Maria Savio ;Mendes, Glauco Henrique de Sousa ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7564259060572565https://lattes.cnpq.br/1399282167332080The concept of customer experience has been widespread in different industrial and service sectors as a positive customer experience in relation to a product, brand and services has the ability to increase levels of satisfaction, loyalty and word-of-mouth communication. In the health area, there is a clear concern with the patient's experience. This is a multidimensional concept focusing on the cognitive, emotional, behavioral, sensory and social responses of patients in relation to direct or indirect interactions with the company providing health services. In the literature on this topic, one of the challenges is how to measure the patient's experience. This assessment becomes more necessary in the context of a pandemic such as that experienced by many countries, including Brazil. Thus, this research aims to measure the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on patient experience practices in Brazilian hospitals through a closed questionnaire. To achieve this objective, two research methods were adopted. The first refers to a scoping review in the literature on models for measuring the experience of adult patients in general hospitals. The second method refers to conducting a survey type survey by applying a questionnaire on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on patient experience practices in Brazilian hospitals. Data were collected for a valid sample of 88 health professionals and / or hospital managers. Among the results of the research, we highlight the identification of the main instruments (HCAHPS, PPE and QPP) and variables (communication and information, work team and care and safety) used to assess the patient's experience. The results also show the relationship of the hospital's response capacity to coping with COVID-19 with the performance of the current and future hospital and with the patient's experience practices and, these, with the performance of the patient's experience. It also shows the positive moderating effect of patient guidance on the hospital's present performance.Item type:Item, Impacto das ecobarreiras na qualidade de água e redução da poluição flutuante em rio urbano (Ribeirão dos Carrapatos, Itaí, SP)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-03-12) ;Moreira, Guilherme de Oliveira ;Santos, André Cordeiro Alves dos ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/2131880667704281https://lattes.cnpq.br/5019930959658829Solid waste, lack of basic sanitation and water pollution contribute negatively to the quality of life of cities and their inhabitants, in addition to the deficiency of public policies aimed at local sustainable development, as the vast majority of cities suffer without adequate infrastructure. The universalization of public services is distant considering that in the 21st century, 47% of the Brazilian population does not have basic sanitation and 16% does not have treated water. Eco-barriers are structures that aim to capture all types of floating waste improperly disposed of in water courses. In view of this, the general objective of the present study was to evaluate the impact that eco-barriers have on water quality and reduction of water pollution. The amount of floating solid waste collected in the periods from October 2019 to March 2020 was determined from the installed eco barriers, such as the water quality of the stretches evaluated with the presence of macrophytes (Eichhornia crassipes) and application of the Callisto Protocol to measure the degree of impact on the points assessed. It was observed through the protocol, that points 1 and 2 had the same score (20 points), which characterizes the stretches as impacts through mainly anthropic actions. In point 3, a slightly greater presence of vegetation was observed on the banks of the Ribeirão, in addition, there was no presence of oil in the water and no evident odor, classifying it as an “altered” section with 26 points. With regard to collected waste, 2018 was the year where the lowest monthly average of collection (294.9 kg) was obtained over a six-month period. The year of 2019 stood out, with just over a ton and in 2020, even considering the months of January, February and March of evaluation, the volume corresponded to 65.03% of the year of 2019. With regard to hydrological monitoring , there were statistically significant differences in the electrical conductivity parameters and total dissolved solids. Eco-barriers are functional structures because they prevent floating residues from reaching the Jurumirim dam and compromise the fauna, flora and all natural habitat. Regarding the use of Eichhornia crassipes, the values show that there is apparently an improvement in water quality, however other studies are essential with the increase in the sampling period and frequencyItem type:Item, O conhecimento metacognitivo no gerenciamento de impressões: avaliação do uso da falsa modéstia na auto apresentação(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-03-12) ;Fujie, Márcia Akemi ;Schelini, Patrícia Waltz ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/6185333517392859https://lattes.cnpq.br/3161677431639997Metacognitive knowledge refers to the information that the subject holds about his own cognitive systems and also about cognition in general, being considered as the segment in which the knowledge of the world is stored and the human being is understood as a cognitive creature. It is through this knowledge that the individual controls his resolution behaviors, enabling him to recognize and characterize problem situations, and to choose the resolution strategy that best suits him. Impression management, on the other hand, is the process by which individuals attempt to control their actions in order to adapt to and shape the impressions that others construct about them. One technique recently included in this process is humblebrag, composed of a combination of the strategies humility, complaining, and bragging. However, studies in this field have evidenced that demonstrating sincerity in speech is essential for building a positive image. The main objective of this doctoral dissertation is to investigate evidence of the relationship between metacognitive knowledge and impression management, as well as to examine humblebrag as a self-presentation technique: whether its elements interfere in its process, and if so, which ones. It is first hypothesized that metacognitive knowledge has a direct influence on impression management. The second hypothesis is that humblebrag is moderated by the strategies that compose it, the motivations of self-presentation and the speaker's sincerity and ability to convince. Thus, this thesis is divided into three studies, described in the format of scientific articles. The first manuscript aimed to analyze, by means of a systematic review, studies on impression management and humblebrag. Five references were obtained, the first of which was published in 2015. Main results indicated that complaining and bragging are preferred strategies by the audience when compared to humblebrag. The second manuscript described a pilot study, in which an instrument was developed with the aim of assessing metacognitive knowledge in impression management, and humblebrag and its elements. This instrument was evaluated by three expert judges and applied to 12 university students. Results showed that the instrument is adequate for the constructs it intends to assess. Finally, the third manuscript brought the reformulation of the instrument based on the participants' considerations, and the application of the questionnaire in a representative sample of the instrument's target audience. Results pointed out that during the evaluation of metacognitive knowledge, impression management strategies were indicated, establishing a relationship between the two phenomena. Furthermore, the use of humblebrag, in order to be successful, requires a balance between humble and boastful behavior, and the need to convince the public of one's competence.Item type:Item, Análise morfológica e paleoecológica de icnofósseis atribuídos a tetrápodes não-arcossauros da Formação Botucatu (Cretáceo Inferior)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-03-12) ;Buck, Pedro Victor ;Ghilardi, Aline Marcele ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5761534317977568 ;Fernandes, Marcelo Adornahttps://lattes.cnpq.br/6709493251686592Abstract Ichnofossils, studied by Paleoichnology, are structures produced as a result of behavioral and physiological activities of organisms of the past. Fossil tracks (footprints), one of the best-known types of ichnofossils (bioturbations), are produced by the interaction of the animal's autopods with the substrate, the latter being deformed in the process. The shape of the autopods, the conditions of the substrate and the locomotion behavior of the trackmaker directly influence the morphology of the tracks. During the beginning of the Cretaceous, a huge sandy paleodesert covered a large area of the Brazilian territory, giving rise later to the eolian sandstones of the Botucatu Formation. Its main fossiliferous content are the tracks and excavations produced by the animals (vertebrates and invertebrates) that lived in the paleodesert, being the region of the Municipality of Araraquara (São Paulo State) the one that presents the greatest quantity and diversity of ichnofossils. The present work had as main objective the morphological and paleoecological analysis of ichnofossils with affinity to non-archosaurian tetrapods from the Botucatu Formation. The descriptions of the tracks and trackways were carried out based on parameters established in the scientific literature, such as width and length of the tracks, oblique pace, stride, pace angulation, trackway width and rotation of the autopods. Several specimens of tracks with affinity to larger mammaliaformes have been described and analyzed, and a new ichnotaxon, Aracoaraichnium leonardii, has been defined. It was possible to determine that the trackmaker of these larger tracks belonged to a different species than the trackmaker of the Brasilichnium tracks, and not an advanced ontogenetic stage. In this way, the trackmaker of A. leonardii represents a new component in the ecological structure of the Botucatu paleodesert. It is inferred that the trackmakers of this ichnotaxon could feed on invertebrates or plant material, depending on the availability of resources, being potential competitors of the trackmakers of Brasilichnium. Tracks with affinity to Lepidosauria (lizards) were also described and analyzed for the first time. Such tracks are pentadactyl, with curved digits. The digit I is directed to the inside of the trackway and opposite the digit V, which is in a posterolateral position. Marks attributed to drag and contact of the tail on the substrate were identified. The icnotaxonomic attribution was tentatively made to the icnogenus Rhyncosauroides, and future analyzes based on new, better preserved specimens may elucidate this issue. From the analysis of the trackways, it was possible to identify three distinct locomotion behaviors, being the typical cursorial gait, a gait where the footprints are rotated in the same direction, diverging from the trackway’s midline, and one where the producer makes stops. The recognition of a new trackmaker with a lizard-like affinity increases the complexity of the ecological web of the Botucatu Formation and contributed to the understanding of the distribution and niche occupation of these animals in the Lower Cretaceous.Item type:Item, Existência global para a equação periódica e dispersiva de Hunter-Saxton(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-03-15) ;Yépez, Andrés Gerardo Pérez ;Arruda Saraiva de Paiva, Lynnyngs Kelly ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1987217076305725https://lattes.cnpq.br/2623458853469342In this master's thesis, we study the recent results about global existence for the integrable dispersive Hunter–Saxton equation in a periodic domain. Firstly, the local well-posedness of the Cauchy problem of the equation is established in $H^s(\mathbb{S}) $, $ s \geq 2 $, by applying the Kato method. Then, based on a sign-preserve property, a global existence result is obtained for the equation in $H^s(\mathbb{S}) $, $ s \geq 3$. Moreover, the obtained result is extended to some periodic nonlinear partial differential equations of second order of the general form.Item type:Item, Jovens rurais de São Carlos - SP: circulação cotidiana, projetos de vida e os sentidos da escola(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-03-15) ;Farias, Magno Nunes ;Lopes, Roseli Esquerdo ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1507752191797249https://lattes.cnpq.br/9612668432963212This thesis aims to understand the aspects that involve the condition of rural youth life, as well as the everyday circulation, life projects and meanings of the school, taking the case of the rural youth of the city of São Carlos/SP. It was intended to understand and analyze what are the macro and microsocial aspects that involve the condition of youth life, limiting and/or enhancing the respective living. Thus, the objective was to determine how the everyday circulation of these young people is constituted, considering the traffic in the territories and communities; their life projects; and, finally, the meanings attributed to the school and how it marks such life projects and everyday circulation. With this study, we aimed to contribute to a critical analysis of the phenomena that pervade this population, in favor of solving problems that restrict their participation and social insertion. In addition, it was also thought to encourage advances in research enrolled in the field of rural youth and education, responding to a shortage of productions on the subject. For this purpose, the investigation was based mainly on theoretical and methodological excerpts from a Marxist basis. It is a research that dialogues with assumptions of participatory research and social occupational therapy, considering that it was based on a study carried out by an occupational therapist researcher. For the collection/production of data, “Workshops of dynamics, activities and projects”, “Individual and Territorial Follow-up” (through interviews, informal conversations, joint circulation and activities) and Questionnaire, directed to the production of oral narratives, written, imagery or audiovisual, which were later analyzed in their content. According to the data, these are poor young people, members of class-who-live-from-work. These people like to live in the rural territory, above all, for the tranquility of the space, however, the conditions that permeate the limitations of access to public and private services (health services, education, transport, leisure spaces for meetings, sociability and fun) mark the feeling of isolation in their experiences. In the context of everyday circulation, they point out that the central limits are the absence of transportation, the lack of money and, sometimes, barriers imposed by parents or guardians. Young people are able to find escape points to overcome these limitations, but within that the school still remains the central space that produces everyday circulation, in the coming and going, in the promotion of meetings, fun and sociability, although little dialogue with those indicated needs, which creates conflicts. In relation to life projects, young people build projects that have as main focus the insertion in the labor market and higher education, which are generally associated. Projects are often more tied to the most urgent needs (thus called projects-necessity), such as getting a job to help parents financially, paying for college or courses and having greater autonomy in local territory, especially for young people most affected by poverty. Other projects are aimed at more distant futures, linked to dreams (the projects-dreams), such as being more socially recognized professionals, getting to know other countries and cultures and more, which go beyond the locality. Thus, it is identified that many life projects refer to projects for wider circulation, comprising beyond the local community, which often demands actions that the rural territory does not offer, since the intent is incompatible with staying in that territory. Finally, there is an urgent need for public policies for rural youths based on the emancipatory everyday circulation, in which the school, especially in the context of high school, has the potential to become a center of creativity, which in articulation with other equipment in the rural territory, can expand the experience of life and the chances of coming and going freely - producing the being more of these young people.Item type:Item, Bibliotecas escolares em cooperativas de ensino: relato de caso da Biblioteca da Escola Educativa na cidade de São Carlos- SP(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-03-15) ;Campli, Graziella Fernanda de ;Gracioso, Luciana de Souza ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4898201916360294https://lattes.cnpq.br/8528102085785555The research question about school libraries within the scope of the theoretical trajectory of consolidating the field of research in Information Science (CI) has been contextualized through the presentation of concepts and general definitions about the research developed in School Libraries. Thus, a basic research has been carried out based on a descriptive analysis of the context that represents the school libraries in private educational institutions in São Carlos, highlighting the situation of the library at Escola Educativa, for which an experience report of the functionalities of the school library in a teaching cooperative was drawn up. The objective was presenting general concepts and definitions that punctuate the understandings assumed in CI research in a School Library, identifying and describing census data in School Libraries in Brazil. It also aims presenting quantitative data in school libraries and private educational institutions in the city of São Carlos; describing the educational management model either in Cooperatives or at Escola Educativa, as well as analyzing the context of the constitution of school libraries in the city of São Carlos, in private institutions, highlighting the case Escola Ecucativa. The educational library at the Cooperativa de Ensino Educativa was participative and active in the formation of the student body, complying with the current legislation and being adequate to the proposed Educational Management model, where the benefit of this type of teaching cooperative is to be participatory.
