In this perspective, university libraries can play a fundamental role looking for ways to present the potential of science as an element of social transformation. The objective of this research was to investigate the performance of the university library, as an active actor in scientific dissemination, through cultural action. The research method used was ex post facto. The units of analysis were the Community Library of UFSCar and the National Institute of Science and Technology of Hymenoptera Parasitoids (INCT Hympar). It was possible to achieve the following results:1] identification of cultural practices and initiatives, involving scientific dissemination to non-specialist citizens; 2] identification of benefits for the library, for the research group and for society. It is considered that through cultural initiatives, multicentric Brazilian research centers, through university libraries, can have a closer relationship with society, promoting the appropriation of scientific and technological knowledge by the lay citizen, through scientific dissemination.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Análise das características superficiais da liga Ti-15Mo após torneamento com ferramentas de diferentes geometrias(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-03-16) Paris, Denny; Ventura, Carlos Eiji Hirata; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1689198421096127; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0285143188247061It is consolidated that the machining of titanium alloys poses obstacles due to their low machinability, which is related to the maintenance of mechanical resistance at high temperatures, the low thermal conductivity, the chemical affinity with various tool materials and the low elastic modulus. Due to these difficulties, surface and subsurface problems are recurrent in components of titanium subjected to machining processes, compromising their operation in different applications. Such components are often subjected to severe working conditions and, as a result, require adequate surface integrity parameters for their applications. In order to better understand the influence of tool geometry on the surface integrity of a given titanium alloy and enable the use of different types of tool to increase part quality at the expense of changes in cutting parameters, which affect the productivity of the process, the present work aims to determine correlations between the geometry (clearance angle and nose radius) of uncoated cemented tungsten carbide cutting inserts and the surface characteristics of the Ti-15Mo alloy after turning process. Consequently, the region has a rich biodiversity, containing taxa that have already been extinct in most of their original distribution. In addition to the great forest remnants, the region includes enclaves of muçunungas, vegetation formations in sandy soils, considered environments sensitive to anthropogenic disturbances. Here we study bird assemblies in the region called Costa do Descobrimento, south of Bahia, between 2011 and 2019, under two perspectives: (i) the influence of landscape changes; (ii) present the first discussed list of muçunungas’avifauna with different structures (grassy-woody - GL and muçununga forest - FM), characterize the use of feelding resources in these formations, as well as the influence of adjacent vegetation formations. In Chapter 1, our hypotheses are (1) native vegetation thresholds of pristine areas be likely to be distinct than sites under long term disturbances and/or more fragmented over a larger chronological scenario for birds; (2) forest dependent (FD) and semi-dependent (FS) species respond differently to patterns of land use; (3) specifical sensitivity patterns are distinct from general patterns studies. We sampled 293-point counts, and 100 were settled across ten different classes of forest cover percentage to generate models for estimating the landscape effects on birds. We defined one buffer (1 km radius) for each point, where we calculated six landscape metrics and three bird attributes. We recorded 340 species; 56 highly sensitive. We confirm that there are higher thresholds in pristine areas; landscapes preserving large remnants of native forest host bird taxa locally extinct from other regions, with many species present only in areas> 60% of native vegetation. This is due to better vegetation structure and a larger set of resources, possibly. Thus, the core area was the variable that showed the highest correlation with the abundance and richness of forest species. We also confirmed that forest FD and FS respond differently to land use; FD species are more sensitive because of their ecological requirements. Our data also revealed specifical patterns of environmental sensitivity. The importance of maintaining 60% thresholds of native vegetation is emphasized, as well as the need to direct efforts to preserve large fragments (≥ 100 ha) in the landscape for the maintenance of more sensitive bird species. In the chapter of muçunungas, in turn, we recorded 216 species; 32 endemics to the Atlantic Forest and 14 threatened with extinction. The most abundant feeding guilds were insectivores (77 species), omnivores (53), and frugivores (32). A total of 109 species were recorded in FM and 183 in GL. Strictly forest birds prevailed in FM (66%), and forest, semi-forest, and open-area species were detected in similar amounts in GL. Similar to restingas, muçunungas are influenced by surrounding environments. There was a predominance of generalist birds, with many species coming from these surrounding environments. It turns out that the main approach in most of the works, was given to aspects that consider the perspective of the STIs. The perspective of entrepreneurs and professionals representing licensed companies, with regard to how to proceed so that the knowledge generated in universities and research centers has increased the possibility of reaching the consumer market, needs to be further understood. This need arises, among other factors, from the differences of interests of the parties, differences in organizational cultures and aspects related to the impacts on the business due to such differences. This study aims to identify the main factors of effectiveness in the technology licensing process from the perspective of representatives of companies licensed by an STI, establishing correlations with the characteristics of the companies and the technical and commercial performance of the licensed technologies. Therefore, it intends to expand the range of knowledge for innovation managers, enabling the strategic implementation of practices that are more appropriate to the reality in which they find themselves, in the search of an increasing in the number of STI technology licenses for companies and success in the commercial exploitation of products, processes, etc., arising from technologies. As a result of the work, it was found that, according to the literature, technology transfer offices play a leading role in the process, but from the perspective of representatives of licensed companies, technology assumes the main role in the licensing process.
