This study aims to correlate the sensory processing and the engagement in family routines of typically developing children enrolled in early childhood education at the age of 3, from the perspective of parents and guardians. With the evolution of thought related to child development, it is known that today development is a variable process that depends on interaction. Based on this knowledge, the child, the caregiver, and the physical and social environment can contribute substantially and interdependently to the child's development and adaptations. In order to help the family member to improve the child's outcomes, this study focuses on the family's role in assessing needs and identifying priorities for possible intervention. Based on the assumption that the complex process of assimilation and learning takes place at various levels of the nervous system, and that sensory information is used as nourishment so that it can develop and learning can take place, we identified possible correlations between sensory processing and engagement in the child's family routines. Data collection was done by parents filling out the two questionnaires, under the supervision of the researcher, during school meetings, and by the family members filling them out at home. SPM- p was a questionnaire to evaluate the sensorial profile, and MEISR was a questionnaire to evaluate engagement, independence, and social relationship. The analysis is by tabulating the data according to the categories of each questionnaire, transformation into graphs and statistical correlation by a professional in the area. The results presented show that there is a correlation between the data and the literature, since 4 routines presented more than one correlation between the variables, demonstrating that there is an interference of sensory processing in the engagement of children. Thus, the study points to the importance of investment on the routines, on the families, and new evaluation instruments to be used in Brazil.

This research aims to investigate how the use of Machine Learning can contribute to the teacher in the identification of the mathematical skills of the students of the three years of High School for individualized teaching proposals. The use of Machine Learning shows that we can program a machine to learn things and perform certain tasks on its own. The Orange Canvas software, which uses Machine Learning tools, identifies the student's profile according to Bloom's Taxonomy. Bloom's taxonomy or educational taxonomy aims to contribute to the teaching process as well as to guide the evaluation procedures. This is a practical tool for evaluating individual performance, which we used in the current research to identify the students' skills in three domains: cognitive, affective, and psychomotor. The research was exploratory and had a qualitative approach, in which the modality of case study was chosen, where we collected the data through online questionnaires made for a group of high school students, who were being tutored by the researcher. The data collection was carried out in two stages, the first one for the machine to start its calibration, and the second one for the machine to identify the students' skills and, thus, easily determine which instruments, methods, and techniques we should use for students, to classify educational behaviors and help with planning, organizing, and managing learning objectives. We observed that the use of Machine Learning on the Orange Canvas greatly helped the researcher to identify the needs of the students, providing her the opportunity to prepare activities suitable for the development of the skills of each student. Based on the current study, if the researcher had not used Machine Learning on the Orange Canvas, she would have to apply a diagnostic test to manually classify each student and discover their individual needs, concluding this technology can be a useful tool for teachers in the elaboration of activities for individualized teaching.

(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-07-02) Silva, Nathalia Sales da; Gatti, Márcio Antonio; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0369563657842763; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7493907480985337
Teaching literacy is a process that involves practices, exercises and experiences about learning letters and sounds. And it has been started earlier and earlier, since 2, 3 years old. Therefore, this research want to explore issues related to early literacy, around cognitive and motor maturation, language, reading and writing, in order to understand the influences of this practice on child development, through the analysis of bibliographical research results and information on the possibility to get “advantages” in submitting children to early literacy practices. Among the main authors who starred in the lines of this work, it is worth mentioning Piaget and Vygotsky, mainly, but also Alessandra Del Ré, Papalia and Feldman, Magda Soares and Artur Gomes de Morais. It was intended to investigate the needs of early childhood and the relationship with the practice of schooling that stands. In this sense, it is important to understand the weight of school actions and the possible consequences of accelerating learning processes in Early Childhood Education. As a result, it was concluded that this practice when introduced so immaturely, in addition to not bringing any further advantages, can also lead to complications and learning difficulties.

The management of natural resources, especially water, is one of the greatest challenges in the world. The disposal of effluents from aquaculture in rivers and streams has the potential to change water quality, with possible eutrophication. The integration between activities, with the use of fish farming effluents for irrigation of agricultural crops, allows to optimize the water resource. The objective of this research was to evaluate the reuse of fish farm effluent from pangasius rearing to fertigate mini-tomato, grape type. Two experiments were carried out, the first one in 2019 and the second on in 2020: 1st) Raw fish farm effluent for fertigation of minitomato, grape type, in protected cultivation; 2nd) Cultivation of mini tomato, grape type, fertigated with nutrient solution prepared in pangasius fish farm effluent. The experiments were installed in a randomized block design, the first with five treatments: nutrient solution (control) and four concentrations of raw fish farm effluent: 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%, with four replications; and the second with four treatments in tomato fertigation: nutrient solution prepared in water supply and nutrient solution prepared in pangasius fish farming effluent (EPCP) in three concentrations of nutrient solution salts (25%SN/EPCP, 50% SN/EPCP and 75%SN/EPCP). The fish farm effluent was characterized in relation to NH4+, NO2-, NO3-, Ca++ and PO4-, concentration. The biometric trait evaluated in the minitomato were plant height, stem diameter and yield. Tomato leaf analysis and evaluation of the relative chlorophyll index were performed for nutritional diagnosis purposes. The fruits of the mini tomato, grape type, were evaluated for quality. An economic analysis was realized considering the price of fertilizers and the sale value of minitomatoes. The average pH of fish farm effluent was 8.2 and EC of 0.77 dS m-1 for the first experiment, and for the second the pH was 8.1 and the EC was 1.2 dS m-1. The total nitrogen content was 10.42 ± 4.94 mg L-1 and 6.2 ± 8.8 mg L-1, for the first and second experiments, respectively, with a predominance of nitrate. Plants fertigated with 100% nutrient solution had a higher relative chlorophyll index. For yield (number and mass of fruits), in the first experiment, the treatment with 25% of raw effluent was similar to the control. The average soluble solids content was 7.6 ºBrix. In relation to the second experiment, the productivity and fruit mass of the treatment fertigated with 50%SN/EPCP had no difference in relation to the control. The results indicated the possibility of reducing up to 50% of the amount of fertilizers used in the nutrient solution in combination with fish farming effluent from pangasius farming, providing similar productivity to the control. The tomato plants fertigated with 75%SN/EPCP had higher yields and better economic return without interfering in fruit quality, which had a maximum value of 10.76 ºBrix and 7.1 mg ascorbic acid 100 g-1 of fruit.

(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-07-02) Pecci, Matheus Guilherme; Gebara, Maria José Fontana; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6585493065968961; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5833205379645035
Research on students and teachers’s conceptions of Science has been developed since the second half of the 20th century. Based on these researches, Norman G. Lederman initiated investigations into how the Nature of Science is manifested by teachers in the teaching-learning process. This movement in Science Teaching, which began to study the view of teachers, in particular, on the Nature of Science, motivated Gil-Peréz, Cachapuz, Fernandéz and other collaborators (2001, 2002, 2011) to formulate seven Deformed Visions of Science that group together inadequate conceptions about Science and scientific knowledge present in the minds of teachers. From these works, it was defined as the objective of this research to map the Deformed Visions of Science presented by Science teachers - and future Science teachers - in current researches in the area. Were obtained 54 works in the literature to compose the corpus of this research, of which 35 are articles, 3 are completion of course works, 13 are masters dissertations and 3 are doctoral theses. Using descriptors established prior to the research, it was obtained that the most frequent Deformed View of Science in the analyzed works, representing the one that most occurs among teachers, is the Empirical-Inductivist and Atheoretical view. It was also found that 41 of the 54 papers focused on data collection to obtain the Conceptions of Science of the researched teachers and future teachers, since the question "What is Science?" appears frequently in these surveys. Finally, from the theoretical references of the analyzed researches, it was found that the authors most used as reference were Gil-Peréz, Cachapuz and collaborators (2001).

Additive manufacturing is a manufacturing process that allows obtaining complex shapes and/or with many stages. Therefore, obtaining a solid is a harder and more complex task. Historically, the use of this technique has started with printing polymers and in metallurgical industry. Currently, due to technological advances and cost reduction of components, the domestic and services markets have been reached, while the niche of custom gifts is promising. In this context, the cooking segment shows potential applications to chocolates and candies, given the current restrictions due to usage of molds. The use of additive manufacturing, through 3D printers, brings to the market new design options, making the final product innovative, competitive and customized, being these characteristics the motivation for the development of this academic work. The theme of this project is the development of a tridimensional printing device applied to the chocolate market. As part of the development of a system based on an open source printer already widely used for polymers, this project executed the necessary adaptations for use of this material, since the most relevant working parameters diverge from those seen on most common raw materials used by general industry. The solidification of chocolate can occur on several ways, affecting the final result of the parts, which may fall apart or fail to keep the desired geometry, being this one of the main challenges to the usage of this material. Key words: Additive Manufacturing; 3D Printing; Chocolate; Food; FDM

This study addresses opportunities for high school teachers to use History of Mathematics under the guidelines of Brazil's Common Core (Base Nacional Curricular Comum). We reflect on the importance of History of Mathematics in the practice of teaching, verify the enthusiasm among researchers and examine objections among the teachers. We then associate landmarks in the History of Mathematics to ten skills, two for each of five specific competences that the Common Core establishes. The associations are based on specialized literature and primary sources and are presented as historical recounts aimed at high school teachers, emphasizing mathematical concepts that should be explored in the classroom. For each association, we also propose mathematical tasks aimed at high school students. We conclude that the eventual resistance to the adoption of the History of Mathematics in secondary education can and should be overcome and that the national curriculum offers many rich opportunities for that.
