Introduction: Carboxytherapy consists of the administration of carbon dioxide (CO2) subcutaneously. The application is done through needles, which can generate local pain, which is considered the main limiting factor in clinical practice. The Aussie current is indicated for pain control, and as it is a medium frequency current, it is considered that it can reach deeper tissues and may be a promising current in the relief of pain in painful procedures, such as pain caused by carboxytherapy. Objective: To investigate the feasibility of the Aussie current over three sessions during the application of carboxytherapy in the treatment of cellulite. Methods: This is a case series aimed at assessing pain intensity and increasing current amplitude. Pain intensity was assessed using the Numerical Pain Scale (END), being measured by each quadrant that received a maximum of two punctures. With this, the average of pain intensity was performed by quadrant and, later, by gluteal laterality that received the intervention. At the end of the three sessions performed, the averages found between them were compared. The current amplitude was recorded in mA at the beginning and end of each session. In addition, it was adjusted throughout the therapeutic procedure and compared between the three sessions performed. The research was carried out in 25 women, between 18 and 49 years old, with no previous experience with carboxytherapy therapy, with presence of moderate and/or severe cellulite in the gluteal region, according to the Cellulite Severity Scale (CSS). For the intervention, the depressions of the skin with cellulite were demarcated and the delimitation of the gluteal area was performed for the infiltration of CO2 in the subcutaneous tissue, whose volume of gas infused by puncture was 50 ml. The Aussie current parameters were: carrier frequency of 4 kHz, phase duration of 125 μs (pulse duration = 250 μs), duty cycle of 20% (burst duration of 4 ms), modulation frequency of 100 Hz and amplitude gradually adjusted for maximum tolerable sensation. Results: The pain intensity assessed showed a considerable reduction over the three sessions and the current amplitude increased. Conclusion: It is concluded that the use of the Aussie current during the application of carboxytherapy was feasible. Pain intensity decreased over the three sessions and current amplitude showed a gradual increase between sessions.

Introduction: Cellulite is one of the most common aesthetic disorders in clinical practice. Carboxytherapy is a new and promising therapy for treatment of this disorder, the administration is subcutaneously through needles, which can generate local pain and that is considered the main limiting fator in clinical practice. Vibration anestesia has desmonstrated effectiveness during painful procedures but it has not yet been investigated in relieving pain associated with carboxytherapy. Objective: To asses the effects of vibration anesthesia on pain intensity associated with the application of carboxytherapy in celulite. Methods: This is a randomized clinical trial that was carried out with 52 women, between 18 and 49 years old, with no previous experience with carboxytherapy therapy, with the presence of moderate and/or severe cellulite in the gluteal region, according to the Cellulite Severity Scale. The patients were randomly distributed into two groups, the vibration group and the control group. For the intervention, the depressions of the skin with cellulite were demarcated and the delimitation of the gluteal area was carried out for the infiltration of CO2, through needles, with an angle of 45º and programmed flow of 80 ml/min, whose volume of gas infused by puncture was 50ml. The vibration device used was a Vibrata® brand, with a flat-shaped tip, measuring 3cm in size, with frequency (f) 6,000 vibrations per minute. The application of the vibration anesthesia device in the vibration group was started 5 seconds before the start of the puncture, and remained on until the end of each puncture. The device was positioned approximately 2 cm away from the needle throughout the procedure. Results: The women were divided into two groups and the mean pain was measured in their respective quadrants in both groups. The mean pain intensity in the vibration group was 4.95 (2.37) and in the control group 4.98 (2.43). Conclusions: Vibration anesthesia did not reduce pain intensity when compared to the control group.

Since banana is a food of high energy value, has low production technological indexes and has great socioeconomic importance for Brazil, the increase in shelf life is desired. Drying is one of the most used processes in conservation and maintenance of its guarantees, whose main objective is the quality of a product with longer shelf life, post- processing refrigeration exemption and shorter enzymatic and oxidative degradation. On the other hand, for the dimensioning of equipments and optimal process control, is required a clear understanding of the transport phenomena, heat and mass transfer, the properties involved and the correct choice of the numerical method for solving the equations derived from the discretization. In this sense, two numerical methods were developed and studied, Progressive Finite Difference Method and Method of Lines, in order to study the transfers. Simulations in Octave Software were performed in order to check the convergence order of the method applied to a simplified problem.

Harttia genus comprises a fish group widely distributed in hydrographic basins of South America. In the cytogenetic point of view, present large karyotypic variation, including an extensive variation in position of ribosomal DNA, B chromosome presence and diversified sex chromosome systems. It is proposed the occurrence of chromosomal instability sites present on the genome of this species could lead the DNA double strand breaks, which trigger these chromosomal rearrangements. Thus, this work aimed to analyze rearrangements and the chromosome involved on karyotypic differentiation in Harttia species, as well the accumulation of repetitive sequence in these regions. Ten species were collected in different hydrographic basins of south, southeast and middlewest regions, including two new not described species. Firstly, classical, and molecular cytogenetic tools were used, including in situ hybridization of ribosomal genes and telomeric sequences, in addition to comparative genomic hybridization essays. The results reveal two new cases occurrence of multiple sex chromosome XX/XY1Y2, besides of new not described species with the highest diploid number founded in the genus. In the investigation of chromosomal rearrangements, was used the microdissection and whole chromosome painting techniques. Were isolated six different chromosomes: 25 (X1) and 26 (X2) from H. punctata, 9 and X (pair 1) chromosome from H. carvalhoi, X chromosome (pair 1) from H. intermontana and chromosome 1 from H. torrenticola. The chromosome painting results using the X1 and X2 probes indicated several chromosomal rearrangements occurred during the diversification of Harttia species from south and southeast regions. With these results, was possible detect that chromosomal breakpoint regions are located inside or surrounding the ribosomal DNA sites in Harttia genome, and these sites triggered several events of chromosomal remodeling. The chromosome painting results obtained with X chromosome probes and chromosome 9 of H. carvalhoi showed that fusion centric events were responsible for the origin of these chromosomes and for decrease in diploid number variation in this lineage. The chromosome 1 of H. torrenticola demonstrated high homeology to chromosome X of H. carvalhoi. Although with similar morphology, the X chromosome of H. intermontana arise from a translocation event between X and autosome (chromosome 9 of H. carvalhoi) besides the identification of other chromosomal rearrangements that triggered the repositioning of homeology blocks on the karyotype of this species. Furthermore, demonstrated two different types of multiple sex chromosome systems founded in the genus, had independent evolutive origin. About the investigation of repetitive sequences associated with this instability regions, were mapped microsatellite sequences and analyzed regarding to the accumulation in chromosomal rearrangements occurred regions. It was observed an enrichment of different sequences in double strand break region. Although a genomic characterization can be necessary to identify the instable sites, the results obtained point to double strand breakpoints in Harttia genome and reaffirm the high karyotypic plasticity in the genus.

Deficiência intelectual e sexualidade: a violência sexual em foco
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-04) Mendes, Marlon Jose Gavlik; Denari, Fátima Elisabeth; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5575213011914394v; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2555831401770563
Sex, sexuality and disability are complex phenomena, present in everyone's lives, but manifesting themselves in different ways. These phenomena are permeated by knowledge and powers and can motivate episodes of aggression. Sexual violence is any sexual act that involves coercion, intimidation, threats or blackmail, and is carried out without the consent of the other person. Sexual exploitation is the forced involvement of minors in situations of prostitution or forced marriage. There is a high incidence of this violence today, especially among female adolescents, however there are few studies that investigate this violence aimed at people with disabilities. This gap in Brazilian scientific production prompts questions to Brazilian researchers and unfolds in research possibilities, such as the vulnerability of people with disabilities to situations of sexual violence and their knowledge about violence, sex and sexuality. Thus, the general objective of this research was to investigate the vulnerability of young people with intellectual disabilities in the face of situations of sexual violence and to identify the knowledge of these young people and their guardians and teachers about sexuality, sex, sexual violence and its prevention. Quali-quantitative methods of data collection and analysis were used. Initially, the “What if – Situations test” instrument was applied to nine young people diagnosed with intellectual disabilities residing in the interior of the state of São Paulo to investigate their vulnerability to situations of sexual violence. Semi structured interviews were also carried out with these young people, their guardians and their teachers, addressing topics about sex, sexuality, sex education and protection from sexual violence. The collected data were systematized and analyzed qualitatively using genealogy under a Foucaultian understanding. The results showed that young women demonstrate considerable vulnerability to sexual violence, with difficulties in recognizing situations that indicate danger and in acting in the face of these situations. Their responses to situations of danger were permeated by social constructions of gender, approaching socially required performances of the male and female gender. The speeches of the guardians circulated about the overprotection of their children, constituting a system of surveillance and control of the body, and in infantilizing and asexual notions of disability. The teachers also noticed these speeches by the guardians, and they try to do orienting work with the students, however their performance is permeated by the control and surveillance of the body and by the hypersexualizing discourses of disability. Both teachers and guardians say they do not work on preventing violence with young people, giving vague and not very assertive guidelines on sexual violence. The intersection between the studies of sexuality, violence and disability is an unexplored field, however rich in contributions to professional practice and to the fight against violence. It is hoped that this thesis has contributed to these questions.

Polynomial Weingarten surfaces of tubular type
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-04) Silva, Fernando Gasparotto da; Barreto, Alexandre Paiva; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3369766702725474; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3794617946389521
This work seeks to contribute to the classification of Weingarten surfaces. More precisely, it fully classifies three families of surfaces (named tubular, cyclic and canal surfaces) in a tridimensional space form (Euclidean, Lorentzian and Hyperbolic spaces) that verify an arbitrary polynomial relation among its Gaussian and mean curvatures. The results obtained provide geometric features of the surface as well as algebraic conditions over the polynomial that defines a surface as Weingarten. Furthermore, results that allow us to investigate Weingarten surfaces only by the polynomial analysis are presented.

The concern of international bodies regarding sustainable consumption and production is growing due to the environmental impacts caused by humanity, and the constant governance of production processes is extremely important. In this context, this work proposes a sustainability indicator for monitoring and directions for the mitigation of environmental impacts caused in the production of friction materials, an industry highly harmful to the environment. For this, a research divided into four phases was carried out, in the first, a systematic review of the literature in international databases covering 1,573 articles. In the second phase, based on a deep content analysis, it was observed that the existing indicators, although they have general similarities, such as the evaluation of social, environmental and economic factors, lack external validity due to the singularities of the industries. indicator adapted to the industry studied. In the third phase, using the action research method for the application and practical validation of the indicator developed, identifying the critical points of the object of study. After applying operational research techniques and statistical analysis, according to phase four, important results were achieved, such as the reuse of 240 tons per year of materials previously considered waste, in addition, the decrease in the rate of harmful materials used in products fell from 24 .2% to 17.41%. In this way, the present work contributes to the refinement of the theory and the practical validation of sustainable metrics in the specific context of the friction materials industry, bringing to this context a tool for directing the improvement of this environmentally harmful industry.

In order to achieve a sustainable production, in a sector where the demand for natural raw materials is very high worldwide, this project aimed to explore the feasibility of increasing the addition of recovered materials in castable refractory for application in main runners, as well as exploring the addition of a recovered material previously not used for this application, in order to reuse diversified refractory waste and save raw materials. The work focused on investigating the impact of increasing the addition of torpedo car chamotte (Al2O3-SiC-C) to 10%, as well as analyzing the addition of 10% of a new material: AZS chamotte (Al2O3-ZrO2-SiO2), to Al2O3-SiC- C based castable. This refractory is widely used in main runners due to its good properties of resistance to carbon oxidation, thermal shock, but mainly, resistance to pig iron and slag attack. Therefore, studies and packing adjustments were performed using the EMMA (Elkem Materials Mixture Analyzer) software, with the goal of obtain a higher efficiency in the replacement of the original raw materials of the castable, by the material to be reused, in order to obtain an adequate accommodation of the particles and, consequently, a packing as close as possible to the original castable. Thus, it was sought to obtain apparent porosity levels similar, or even lower than those of the original castable, in order to obtain adequate properties of mechanical strength, corrosion and oxidation resistance. Besides the packing study, used as an initial tool, an analysis of the castable raw materials was also performed, using data analysis in Python, aiming to optimize the flow properties of the material with the addition of the recovered materials. Thus, the influences caused in the properties of castable refractory, due to the addition of these recovered materials and the changes that were necessary during the packing adjustments were investigated. Even with the increased content of recovered materials, it was possible to obtain high fluidity, reduced apparent porosity, reduced carbono oxidation of the material, as well as wear to the attack of pig iron and slag close to those obtained with the original castable.

herapeutic itineraries seek to analyze the individual and collective resources that an individual uses to seek answers to their health problems. Therefore, having knowledge about the therapeutic itineraries of a population can be very beneficial in understanding how the health network in that territory is functioning and what its weaknesses are. Thus, the present study falls within the field of qualitative approaches, with the objective of investigating and describing ways of (dis)articulation of the Psychosocial Care Network (RAPS) of São Carlos - SP, based on the therapeutic itineraries of users of this network . To this end, data collection and production was done online through semi-structured interviews. One user from each Psychosocial Care Center (CAPS) in the city participated in the study: a CAPS for alcohol and drugs, a CAPS II and a CAPS for children and youth, their respective companions and professionals, totaling eight participants. The interview data were processed based on the thematic content analysis technique, allowing the production of analytical categories linked to each other. The main results show that there is a gap between the RAPS points, with little articulation of shared care, especially in relation to basic care and with a vacuum in the care of children and adolescents; there are difficulties for CAPS in elaborating and developing care in the psychosocial model, especially in acute situations of psychological suffering, when the local RAPS uses asylum strategies such as hospitalizations and excessive medicalization. As possible responses to these difficulties encountered, we have the training of professionals, the strengthening of continuing education, the presence of managers engaged with mental health, care for workers' mental health and actions that encourage the participation of civil society.

Sarcopenic older adults are at greater risk of falls, hospitalization, death, diminished functional and cognitive capacity and a poorer quality of life compared to non-sarcopenic older adults. The aims of the present study were to analyze factors associated with health-related quality of life (HRQoL – total and domains) in community-dwelling sarcopenic older adults and determine possible differences in the perception of HRQoL among these individuals before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Two studies were developed. The first involved data from a previous study with 54 and 117 older adults with and without sarcopenia, respectively, according to the European Working Group on Sarcopenia in Older People 2. The Short Form Health Survey (SF-36) was used to assess quality of life. Comparative and linear regression analyses were performed. Differences between groups were found regarding health conditions and the perception of HRQoL, with worse outcomes among sarcopenic older adults. Perceived HRQoL was poorer in the sarcopenic group compared to the non-sarcopenic group in the following SF-36 dimensions: physical functioning (<0.001), physical role functioning (<0.029), general health state (p<0.001), vitality (<0.011) and social role functioning (p<0.001). All models related to HRQoL in sarcopenic older adults were statistically significant, with the best prediction related to physical functioning (83.3%). The factors associated with low HRQoL were being married (p<0.001), being widowed (p<0.022), depressive symptoms (p<0.007), anxiety/depression (p<0.005) and pain (p<0.009) in the general health state domain; nutritional status (p<0.045) in the social role domain; and depressive symptoms (p<0.005) in the mental health domain. The second study compared the HRQoL of sarcopenic older adults before and during the COVID-19 pandemic using the Sarcopenic Quality of Life (SarQoL®) scale. For the pre-pandemic period, a databank was used with information collected at the homes of the older adults. During the pandemic, the same individuals were interviewed by telephone. Interviews lasted an average of 15 minutes. Half of the older adults felt vulnerable to contamination by SARS-CoV-2 (p<0.001), felt some or considerable fear (p<0.013), a minority felt isolated and a reduction occurred in activities of daily living (p<0.001). No differences were found in the comparison of the pre-pandemic and pandemic period regarding the perception of overall HRQoL or any of the dimensions, with the exceptions of locomotion (p = 0.013) and body composition (p = 0.005). In conclusion, older adults with sarcopenia had poorer HRQoL in all domains of the SF-36 compared to the non-sarcopenic group, except for the bodily pain, emotional role functioning and mental health domains. Being married, being widowed and having depressive symptoms, anxiety and pain were associated with poorer HRQoL in the general health state domain, nutritional status was associated with the outcome in the social role domain and depressive symptoms were associated in the mental health domain. Unlike what was expected, no differences were found for the majority of HRQoL domains evaluated using the SarQoL® scale before and during the pandemic among sarcopenic older adults. These findings are important to the planning of care for older adults in the primary care context.

Sustainability has become a growing concept in contemporary society. Namely the application of alternative materials in civil construction has increased considerably, like concrete reinforced with vegetable fibers. Actually, Brazil is one of the largest grain producers in the world, which directly implies the generation of agricultural and industrial residue. It is estimated that in the 2021/2022 period of corn harvest, Brazil produced about 264 million tons of corn residues, like cornstalk that through previous treatments, provide the removal of impurities from the fibers and corroborate to increase improvements in the characteristics of resistance to cracking, impact and compression of concrete reinforced with vegetable fibers. Therefore, the present project objectived to analyze influence of the cornstalk fiber in concrete, through the specific mass and resistance to axial compression determination. For this, corn fibers has been submitted to the pull-out test to determine its critical length. Furthermore, corn fibers underwent a heat treatment in boiling to remove impurities and sugars, as well as, any residues from the harvest. The specimens has been molded with different percentages of fibers for a better spectrum of analysis, being them 0% (control), 2%, 6% and 10% and based on NBR 5738: 2003. The tests performed has been conducted based on the respective regulations: NBR 5738 and NBR 5739. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, tests of 10% composites were not performed. However, the 6% fiber specimens showed an average compressive strength of 36.5 MPa while the control 29.7 MPa. For the specific mass, the variations determined were not significant, with a slight reduction in the same with the addition of fiber. It is concluded that, fiber reinforced concrete shows great potential for application in civil construction.

Servitization and digitalization are trends that have generated changes in manufacturing companies. From the convergence between them arises the concept of digital servitization. Digital servitization is understood as the use of digital technologies in servitization-related processes and offerings. Like servitization and digitalization, digital servitization, to varying degrees, requires reconfiguring the business models of manufacturing companies. The literature points to digital servitization as a process of organizational change that can be understood by the factors that lead to this change (context), the factors that need to be transformed (content), and how the change is processed (process). Therefore, it is relevant to understand digital servitization from a holistic perspective and to understand how it unfolds throughout its implementation. Therefore, this thesis has the general objective of developing a model that describes the transformation process of manufacturing companies towards digital servitization. For this purpose, a multi-method approach was used that brings together several research methods such as systematic literature review, research with experts, and multiple case studies. Furthermore, the thesis was organized in the form of articles, which summarize the main results achieved: (i) identification of challenges in digital transformation from the perspective of the business model; (ii) an account of how digitization fundamentally transforms manufacturing companies in their transition to services; (iii) clarification of the transformation process to digital servitization in manufacturing companies from the perspective of experts and, (iv) understanding of how the journey to digital servitization in manufacturing companies unfolds from case studies. The integration of results allows the description of the transformation process for digital servitization in manufacturing companies. In this sense, a conceptual model was proposed for the digital servitization process. In terms of theoretical contributions, this thesis contributes by (i) discussing the challenges faced by manufacturers in the search for innovation in business models through digital transformation; (ii) presenting a conceptual model and propositions capable of providing a broad view of how digitalization imposes changes in the traditional dimensions of servitization; (iii) demonstrate the factors that impact the transformation process to digital servitization and their interrelationships; (iv) reveal how the journey to digital servitization unfolds from the analysis of two cases and, (v) develop a theoretical-conceptual model for the transformation process of digital servitization. As a practical contribution, the results guide managers that can be used to guide or improve the process of implementing digital servitization in their companies.

Reparar as cores.
This thesis presents an ethnography of the cerrado with the women who live in the sertão das veredas, geographically located in the northwest of Minas Gerais state (Brazil). Walking, knowing, and writing the cerrado together with the women's mexidas is the main task of this work. Its main argument follows the idea of reparar as cores [repairing the cerrado colors], an expression often used in the sertão das veredas that express the variety of forms found in the colors of the landscape. This thesis is attentive to the ordinary practice, to everyday relations among rural women and the contrasts between the poverty of development and the riqueza [wealth] in the cerrado. It is about the relation of time and the abundance that comes from the variety of collective practices of economic organization. Likewise, it focus on the nuances of the women's adherence to development projects, and the way they create difference and wealth, in contrast to the pecuniary quantification of the cerrado. It also discusses the various ways people establish prices in very particular economic transactions. Finally, it deals with the color of pigmentations that, in face of lived experiences amid the transformations of the land, the waters, the wind, the flowers, the landscape, paint an image against the secamento do tempo [the drying of time] in the cerrado.

Considering the increase in the number of allergy cases related to products originating from milk, it is necessary to develop products with rheological and sensory characteristics similar to conventional products, replacing animal protein with a vegetable base to include this food in the population's diet allergic. Knowing that cottage cheese is a food present in Brazilian cuisine, it is estimated that there will be demand fortheproduction of the new product. Thus, it is reported the development of a requeijão food of vegetableorigin based on manioc, which is totally free of lactose and casein. For this, three differentformulations were elaborated, and sensorial analyzes were carried out by the triangular test in order to find the closest formulation to conventional cream cheeses. Rheological analyzes were also performed using rotational rheometry, in order to achieve the characteristic fluid profile, analyzing the behavior of the shear rate curves as a function of the shear stress of the formulations. However, it was found that formulation three was the closest to commercial requeijão, both sensorially and rheologically. However, other formulation tests would be carried out to correct aspects pointed out by the panelists, such as residual cheese flavor and viscoelastic texture, which were not performed due to lack of time.

Robotic manipulators are increasingly present in current industrial activities. They are used in tasks such as: painting, drilling and welding operations, material handling, etc. Although these robots are widely used, their tasks are often not performed optimally. There are different characteristics that can be used to define the optimization of a manipulator, such as manipulability, torque, energy, conditioning, among others. Task space redundancy occurs when the end-effector has more degrees of freedom than the task needs, so it is possible to optimize performance using the excess degrees of freedom. This excess of degrees of freedom defines a problem with infinite solutions for the robot joint positions. Defining these positions through an optimization process is called redundancy resolution. There are two types of resolution: local and global. The local observes the gradient of a cost function at each instant of time and decides the joint positions from that. The global one observes a cost function throughout the task execution period to define these positions. Therefore, this work aims to study a planar serial robotic manipulator using task space redundancy to optimize its dynamic performance in order to compare the different redundancy resolution methods. The local and global methods were compared with each other and with the performance of a non-redundant robotic manipulator. In addition to this analysis, the impact of other factors on the optimization of dynamic performance was studied, such as the initial orientation of the end-effector and the use of a weighting factor for gravitational forces in the dynamic equations. The manipulator implementation, simulation and optimization were done using the software MATLAB. The results obtained indicate that the resolution of the redundancy by the local method presented a better dynamic performance and that the joint optimization of the initial orientation and of the weighting factor of the gravitational forces collaborates for this.
