Item type:Item, Dimensionamento do conjunto manga de eixo, ponta de eixo e cubo de roda de um veículo Baja(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-05-26) ;Costa, Cleber Roberto ;Moreno, Mariano Eduardo ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1307496862518321https://lattes.cnpq.br/0354719121948600The suspension of a Baja SAE vehicle is highly demanded in competitions, due to the terrain characteristics, and can show constant failures, if badly designed. Besides, the dynamics of the car are directly linked with its own mass. Therefore, a precise dimensioning of the components will represent, not just a raise in reliability, but also in performance. With the dissemination of finite element analysis software, the dimensioning of parts with complex geometries, such as the knuckle gets much easier. However, the usage of these software by users that do not have the proper knowledge to perform a structural finite element analysis is becoming very common. It is a recurrent problem in the SAE competitions recently, also affecting the Baja UFSCar team. This work intends to design a group of components that compose part of the front suspension system of a Baja SAE vehicle, the knuckle, the hub, and the stub axle. The basis of the project will be a load history provided by a simulation made in a Python algorithm. After a revision of all the theory regarding the phenomenons involved, the dimensioning of the parts have been made with the help of a CAE software, which led to a mass reduction between 19% and 30%, of the worked components, considering a finite life of 60 hours, which is enough for four competitions, considering tests, or the life cycle of the vehicle.Item type:Item, Parametrização de ligantes em Co(salen) aplicados na despolimerização de ligninas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-05-26) ;Costa, Mateus Oliveira ;Ferreira, Marco Antonio Barbosa ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/6874055640224407https://lattes.cnpq.br/7899790817486672Since the industrial revolution, fossil sources such as oil, natural gas or coal have become indispensable resources for human development with a variety of uses: from energy generation to drugs production and household items. Nowadays, we possess large reserves of these sources but they are not renewable and studies indicate few decades to run out of them. The use of renewable and non-toxic sources, as biomass, provides an interesting alternative for this dependence on oil and similar. Obtaining fine chemical products from lignin is an interesting alternative for the valorization of biomass, but to achieve it in an efficient, cheap and chemically sustainable way is a challenge. In the present work, we investigate oxidation reactions of lignin models catalyzed by Co(salen) complexes trying to understand which parameters influence the reaction efficiency. Therefore, we used data from the literature to create a statistical model that guided us to the synthesis of catalysts further used in this kind of chemistry, which were evaluated by means of conversion and yield. The reactions performed with the lignin models were parameterized, giving us information about the influences on steric and electronic properties the catalyst ligands must have to maximize the catalytic efficiency.Item type:Item, Contribuições da psicologia histórico-cultural para o processo grupal com usuários com esquizofrenia nos Centros de Atenção Psicossocial(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-05-26) ;Piza, Helen da Costa Toledo ;Schühli, Vitor Marcel ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/2603826111657811 ;Bellenzani, Renatahttps://lattes.cnpq.br/5545222663436009The intent of this research was to investigate and systematize theoretical-practical contributions capable of adding up to a greater range of group activities at Psychosocial Care Centers – known in Brazil as CAPS - particularly to assist, along people with schizophrenia, the reorganization of personality through new mediations for reconstitution of the psychological system. This is a theoretical-conceptual study that evokes categories from historical-cultural psychology, collective health, historical-dialectical materialism and the group process theory according to the Latin American social psychology. By considering that the set of care actions in a mental health service needs to be aimed at socialization, without giving up therapeutic purposes, of psychosocial rehabilitation, it is understood that it is necessary to think about the group process in the light of the cultural-historical theory, evoking Leontiev's Activity Theory and the relation between the structure of activity and the development of the psyche. The starting point was the need to reflect on the possible mediations that a group activity could intentionally dynamize, focusing on the reorganization of consciousness and the entire psychological system. For this, it is necessary to take into account the particularities of each person with schizophrenia’s system disintegration and how this person has reacted, according to the singular and general conditions of the development of consciousness that takes place in historically configured social relationships. As a result of the theoretical-conceptual research, illustrations and practical recommendations were synthesized for the development of the main types of workshops recommended for the CAPS (therapeutic with manual and expressive, income generation and literacy/pedagogical activities). Two sections were organized: one which has more general contributions that these references add up to group practices in mental health; and another that has contributions of greater specificity for carrying out with people with schizophrenia. The most relevant principle is that groupality (sociogenetic plan of development) is the source and expression of microgenetic processes of development, which can reveal themselves as processes of reconstitution of higher psychological functions disintegrated in schizophrenia, and of the personality as a whole. Group management will be more powerful the more professionals direct their attention and efforts both to grouping (identifications, bonds, collective dimension of tasks, activities, roles and meanings), and to the dimension of singularity (needs, reasons, meanings to perform the activity), in addition to the system dynamics of the psychological functions of each participant. It is expected that the study can derive technical materials and training activities for CAPS professionals, promoting the advance in the conscious use of group techniques with users in general, particularly those affected by schizophrenia, contributing to the consolidation of the mental health policy in Brazil.Item type:Item, Violência entre parceiras íntimas: caracterização do fenômeno e avaliação da rede de apoio das vítimas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-05-26) ;Furukawa, Letícia Yuki de Araujo ;Komatsu, André Vilela ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8393101225656270 ;Pessoa, Alex Sandro Gomeshttps://lattes.cnpq.br/4333565964821090Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) is recurrent in the daily lives of many Brazilian women. Despite the recognition of the impacts of IPV, as well as the existence of homosexual relationships between women in numerous cultures, there are few studies that have focused on the experiences of violence experienced in these relationships, especially in the national context. The absence of investigations focused on this segment hides the epidemiological data and mask this harmful reality. It was hypothesized that lesbians who do not have the perception of support from social support are more exposed to IPV, as well as having more difficulties in breaking up with the aggressor partner. Based on these prerogatives, the objective of this research was to characterize IPV, more specifically in women's homosexual relationships, as well as to analyze possible associations between Perceived Social Support (PSS). This is a quantitative investigation, with a cross-sectional design, organized into three complementary studies that were presented in the form of articles. A total of 1057 Brazilian lesbian women, aged between 18 and 58 years old, participated in the investigation. Data collection was online and the following instruments were used: i) Brazil Socioeconomic Classification Criteria; ii) Revised Tactical Conflict Scale (CTS-2); iii) Perceived Social Support Scale (adult version) (EPSUS-A). Article 1 aimed to verify the association between IPV and PSS, based on the socioeconomic, ethnic and educational classification of Brazilian lesbian women. Data were analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficient, which did not differ significantly in relation to violence data, with only differences in relation to PSS being observed. The study, despite its limitations, suggests that violence in women's homosexual relationships occurs in all social strata, regardless of ethnicity and level and education. Articles 2 and 3 are closely related as the sample was split so that Latent Class Analysis (LCA) could be conducted. In Article 2, based on an exploratory model, the objective was to characterize the manifestation of violence in women's homosexual relationships (n = 634) based on its typology and frequency, and to analyze the possible associations between violence and the perception of social support. Four significantly different classes were identified in terms of patterns of violence suffered and perceived social support. The findings reinforced that the relationship between partner violence and social support is a heterogeneous phenomenon, whose variables are not always directly related. Subsequently, in Article 3, the confirmatory analysis was performed. The sample consisted of 423 lesbian women and the number of classes obtained in the present study, through the LCA, confirmed the number of classes in the exploratory study. However, the results of this investigation suggested that the perception of social support can reduce the prevalence of violence in the relationship of only a part of the participating women. Other psychological and social variables should be included in studies of this size to detect other dimensions that are directly associated with the reduction or perpetuation of indicators of violence in women's homosexual relationships. It is hoped that this investigation will contribute to the unveiling of obscured issues regarding the manifestation of violence between intimate partners, as well as subsidize consistent reflections on the role of the support network in the rupture of violence in these relationships.Item type:Item, Ensino de topografias variadas do mando por informação “Quando?” em crianças com autismo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-05-27) ;Brassolatti, Isabella Marino ;Miguel, Caio F ;Cortez, Mariéle Diniz ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7927746584626515https://lattes.cnpq.br/8990262015182120Recent studies have been developing procedures for teaching complex verbal operants to children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), such as mands for information. However, the literature evaluating procedures for the acquisition of the mand “When?”, which can be evoked by a variety of stimuli correlated with delayed access to reinforcers, is still scarce. The present study aimed to replicate and extend the study by Landa, Hansen and Shillingsburg (2017), using the same experimental task to teach children with autism the mand for information “When?”, including a new type of trial and teaching of specific topographies (names of items) varied from this type of mand. Three boys with autism participated in the study and were exposed to experimental trials in which, after issuing a mand for an item highly preferred by the participant (e.g. “Can I play with the tablet?”), access to the item was denied by the experimenter. (e.g., “Not now”), with the aim of creating motivation for issuing the mand based on the information in question. After going through the Baseline and Training conditions, the three participants learned the mand for information topographies taught in a few teaching sessions (from eight to eleven), which were issued only during the Establishment Operation Present (OEP) type trials, and not during the other types of control trials (Establishment Operation Absent – OEA and free access – AL, the latter being inserted only for two of the three participants). Two participants showed variability in the independent responses presented. However, for two participants, it was necessary to provide tips for issuing mands for itens, which significantly influenced the teaching of the skill.Item type:Item, Priorização de áreas para alocação de Reserva Legal(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-05-27) ;Coutinho Neto, Reginaldo Santos ;Valente, Roberta Averna de Oliveira ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1582627535733911 ;Molin, Paulo Guilhermehttps://lattes.cnpq.br/1529819650942373The Legal Reserve (LR) is defined by the Native Vegetation Protection Law (NVPL) as a portion of a rural property whose function is to ensure the economic and sustainable use of natural resources, contributing to the conservation and rehabilitation of ecological processes and biodiversity conservation. Rural properties or possessions that are irregular because they have a deficit of LR may comply with the law, as long as they commit to restoration measures inside the property or compensate outside, to the extent established by law. To support the decision making of the allocation of LR, the Multicriteria Evaluation (MCE) methods appear, which have been efficiently used for forest restoration processes. Considering the criteria suggested by the NVPL and other indicators of environmental fragility, the main objective of this work was to elaborate a zoning of priority areas for the allocation of LR of the Atlantic Forest and Cerrado biomes, inserted in the Alto Paranapanema watershed, having as limit rural properties declared in the Rural Environmental Registry. We observed results of different importance for each biome since the reality of each is different due to behavior of variables in each scenario. Areas classified as Very Low, Low and Moderate for LR allocation are the majority (76.7% for Cerrado and 61.8% for Atlantic Forest) and have little area covered by native vegetation (12.37% in Cerrado and 10,59% in the Atlantic Forest), with a predominance of agriculture and pasture cover. The areas classified as High and Very High priority have greater coverage of native vegetation (24.15% in the Cerrado and 34.1% in the Atlantic Forest) and that comply with the criteria guided by the NVPL. The MCE proved to be efficient even without the weighting of the criteria, allowing prioritizing areas for LR allocation within the watershed. This study can facilitate the population's choice for the placement of LR compensations and may also facilitate the public perception of the importance of compensating LR locally.Item type:Item, Extensões H-cleft distinguidas por H-identidades polinomiais(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-05-27) ;Oliveira Junior, Abel Gomes de ;Schützer, Waldeck ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8638200922501477https://lattes.cnpq.br/9426745921249950Our main object of study is the well-known question asking whether the set of polynomials identities distinguishes PI-algebras up to isomorphism. Let k be an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0 and H a non-semisimple monomial Hopf algebra. We prove that H-Galois objects over k are determined up to H-comodule algebra isomorphism by their polynomial H-identities. Afterwards we show that if H_N^q is a Taft algebra over a finite commutative unital ring R and N is an invertible element in R, then the H_N^q-cleft extensions over R are determined up to H_N^q-comodule R-algebra isomorphism by their polynomial H_N^q-identities.Item type:Item, Adolescência e divulgação não consensual de imagens íntimas: um estudo exploratório a partir de registros digitais de ocorrência(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-05-27) ;Luca, Lucas Azzis Ferreira de ;Pessoa, Alex Sandro Gomes ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4333565964821090 ;https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9271-8575https://lattes.cnpq.br/9544805511851927Sexting consists of sending intimate images to third parties and its practice has been adopted as a mean of expression of sexuality mediated by digital technological resources, including by adolescents. However, such conduct imply in some risks, mainly because the Non-Consensual Disclosure of Intimate Images (NCDII) of the people involved can occur, which can impact the individual's mental health and even lead to suicide. Based on these arguments, the aim of this study was to characterize, through the reported cases available in a police station, victims, suspects and complaints alluding to the non-consensual disclosure of intimate images of adolescents. The research was qualitative, documental, exploratory-descriptive and cross-sectional. A documentary analysis of digital reported was carried out in a Women's Defense Police Station (DDM), located in a medium-sized city in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. The period analyzed encompassed to the reported cases of a period of approximately 12 years and the fieldwork was carried out in seven complementary stages. Initially, 22734 records were analyzed and, after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 19 occurrences remained. In terms of the variables analyzed through the document, three dimensions were included: i) characteristics of the victim; ii) characteristics of the suspect; iii) characterization of the complaint. The findings showed that most victims were female adolescents, self-declared as white and, in most cases, were 13 or 14 years old when their intimate images were released. The alleged aggressors, in turn, were male in most of the documents analyzed, although occurrences were also identified in which the images had been shared by female friends of the adolescents. Attention was drawn to the fact that most of the documents did not present data that allow the identification of the alleged aggressors, which may imply in the difficulty of holding accountable for the violence committed. In addition, it was found that only one complaint was forwarded to the justice system, which suggests that cases of NCDII involving adolescents were not properly investigated. These findings are partially consistent with the international literature, but also pointed out to specificities of the Brazilian reality that deserve further investigation in the future.Item type:Item, Biofortificação agronômica de rúcula (Eruca sativa Miller.) com ferro em cultivo hidropônico(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-05-27) ;Ceccherini, Guilherme José ;Sala, Fernando César ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/6771975466075202https://lattes.cnpq.br/0192036018907086Arugula is the second most cultivated leafy vegetable in the NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) hydroponic system, as it guarantees greater productivity, shorter cultivation cycle and greater efficiency in the use of water and fertilizers. Biofortification is a technique that aims to enrich the edible parts of agricultural products with micronutrients in the parts used for plant consumption. Biofortification, for example, with iron is a way to minimize anemia. The objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of iron doses on the biofortification of two arugula varieties in a hydroponic system, in the winter and summer period. The experimental design was in randomized blocks, with a factorial of 4 doses of chelated iron (EDDHA) (T1=1.8; T2=3.6; T3=5.4 and T4=7.2 g 1000L-1 ) x 2 arugula cultivars (V1= Astro and V2= Roka), with four replications. Agronomic evaluations of plant diameter, number of leaves, plant height, root length, root and shoot fresh mass, root and shoot dry mass, productivity and iron accumulation in shoots and roots were carried out, in addition to instrumental analysis of leaf area, total chlorophyll index and colorimetric analysis. Only the fresh root mass was equal to the statistics performed. Iron accumulation in roots was considerably higher than in leaf tissue, about 10-20 times higher. Therefore, in the winter period, Astro at the dose of 3.6 mg 1,000L-1 and Roka, in the summer period of the treatment, 7.2 mg 1,000L-1 , were the ones that showed the highest translocation and accumulation of Fe in the edible part.Item type:Item, Monitoramento estatístico aplicado à ciência dos dados: uma abordagem para validação contínua de modelos preditivos classificatórios(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-05-27) ;Bueno, Carlos Renato ;Oprime, Pedro Carlos ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/9291517431456908https://lattes.cnpq.br/3580541754508326Predictive models are those that apply to data of observable variables, called independent, inferring on the behavior of another variable, observable or not, called dependent. A particular case, and widely used, are the binary classificatory models, in which the dependent variable can receive two values: Yes or no (positive/negative, success/failure). The present thesis demonstrates that operational environments increasingly digitized allow more complex applications of these classification models. Add to this the need to increase business competitiveness, through the search for information that reduces costs or increases the profitability of companies: it is the “Perfect Storm”, which increases the importance, scope, financial impacts, and horizon time of use of these models. This phenomenon occurs both within the industry with Big Data Analytics (BDA), and in other sectors, with the development of Data Science (DS). However, the boundary conditions, or existing operational conditions, when creating the model, can undergo significant variations, due to technical problems in the generation, capture, flow of information, or even in the relationships between the variables studied, which can reduce the quality of the forecast. of the created model. The literature review showed that several researchers claim that it is important to periodically check the performance of hits and misses of these models, however, there is a lack of more specific criteria and methods that define the checking frequency and sample sizes suitable for this monitoring. To fill this gap, the concepts of Project Science Research were used to integrate the concepts of Statistical Process Monitoring (SPM) with the methods of elaboration of models applied in the field of DS. In the construction of this integration, Phases I and II of the SPM were related to a structured process of data analysis and model generation, creating an approach for its continuous validation. This was validated using analytical and simulation techniques applied to the Cohen's Kappa index, resulting in prescriptive criteria for its use, supported by comparisons based on the Matthews correlation coefficient (MCC) and the index from Youden. Control charts, based on Kappa, were found to perform well for sample amounts of m=5 and sample sizes of n=500, provided the Pe value is less than 0.8. The simulations also showed that for monitoring through Kappa fewer samples are needed than for the other studied indices.Item type:Item, Desenvolvimento de vidro cristal de nióbio guiado por inteligência artificial(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-05-27) ;Souza, Maurício Lima ;Santos, Gisele Guimarães dos ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/0761705816463042 ;Zanotto, Edgar Dutrahttps://lattes.cnpq.br/1055167132036400Utensils containing lead have been used for centuries, but the need to reduce exposure to this metal has encouraged the search for lead-free materials. Artificial neural networks (ANN) were used in this work as a tool in the development of new crystal glasses containing niobium instead of lead. Fixing certain parameters, such as refractive index, nd (≥ 1.55), glass transition temperature, Tg (≤ 570 °C), Abbe number, d (≤ 47), and the amount of the network-forming oxide SiO2 (≥ 60 mol%), tens of possible compositions were obtained. The most viable (eight, in total) were selected for synthesis and characterization. The glasses were prepared by melting the reagent mixtures (~ 1500 °C), and the refractive indices, glass transition temperature, chemical durability, and microhardness Vickers were estimated and compared to the values of a commercial lead-free crystal glass. The d values were only predicted established by the ANN. The values of nd and Tg predicted by the ANN were satisfactorily consistent with the experimental values measured. Among the prepared glasses, five presented values to nd similar or superior to the commercial sample and four of these presented Tg’s values just slightly higher than the commercial sample. All these glasses had a high degree of transparency and absence of color, with refractive indices between 1.558 and 1.634, glass transition temperature between 522 and 650 °C, and predicted Abbe number values between 40.9 and 54.4, low chemical solubility, and microhardness equivalent to the commercial sample.Item type:Item, Adolescentes usuários de substâncias psicoativas: desafios vivenciados em internações psiquiátricas e as possibilidades de cuidado no CAPSad(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-05-27) ;Pereira, Natalia Alonso ;Matsukura, Thelma Simões ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5611215381682164https://lattes.cnpq.br/5180802289083121The literature has shown that the adherence of adolescents users of Psychoactive Substances (PAS) is still a challenge, and alerts us to the need to consider the specific aspects of this period. Thus, the aim of this study was to understand the perceptions of adolescents who use PAS about their experiences in psychiatric hospitalizations and follow-ups received in the Centers for Psychosocial Care Alcohol and Drugs (CPSCad) as well as identify the challenges and benefits experienced in these occasions. This is an exploratory and qualitative study. Four adolescentes, linked to two CPSCad from two cities in the interior of São Paulo state, who had a history of psychiatric hospitalization and who answered a semi-structured interview, participated in the study. The interviews were transcribed and analyzed by the Content Analysis method. These adolescents started using drugs early, have experiences of "heavy" drugs uses and come from social vulnerability contexts. The hospitalization were involuntary, and aspects such as family distancing, feeling of confinement, situations of lack of security and as well as the absence of diversified approaches in daily life were considered the greatest challenges experienced in them. It was identified that the understanding that they would have served their sentence through this isolation, detoxification, the recognition of the need for help and the damages associated with the consumption of PAS were the main contributions of psychiatric hospitalizations. Regarding the treatment offered by CPSCad, there was greater acceptance when compared to hospitalizations. The difficulty of abstinence, and displeasure with some activities and with the approaches during the care attendance were the greatest challenges experienced in the service, as for their contributions, they consider it and acquisition of socioemotional skills. It is argued that hospitalization remains strongly characterized as punishment, isolation and control, and that only referrals, both for hospitalization and for post discharge, are configured as communication between the care devices where the study was conducted. Regarding CPSCad, the need for review and expansion of care actions in the territory is pointed out, in a network and articulated with the demands of adolescents and their families, prioritizing the protagonism of adolescents in the process of their care.Item type:Item, Wearables para a monitorização contínua da saúde cardiorrespiratória(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-05-27) ;Frade, Maria Cecília Moraes ;Beltrame, Thomas ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/0045363023998833 ;Catai, Aparecida Mariahttps://lattes.cnpq.br/5801652590531684Background: The cardiovascular health (CH) or aerobic power can be represented by maximal the maximum oxygen uptake (VO2max) measured during the cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET). However, despite the extensive clinical relevance of CH evaluation, the CPET could be interrupted before obtaining the true VO2max due to many different reasons such as the lack of motivation, in addition, it is performed only occasionally and involving the use of medical equipment that are not available to the general population and in realistic settings. Thus, this thesis is composed of 3 studies, as shown below: Study 1- Aim: To verify if supra maximum exercise testing (SMET) is reliable to confirm the VO2max achieved during the CPET, in addition to using different equipment to investigate the integrated physiological responses during peak CPET and SMET. Methods: 74 volunteers of both sexes were evaluated, aged between 19 and 72 years, and with different levels of maximum aerobic power. They performed the CPET with incremental protocol followed by SMET with constant load at 110% of the peak workload of the CPET, both tests were performed on a cycle ergometer and interrupted by maximum volitional fatigue. During both tests the metabolic and ventilatory variables were collected, by the metabolic system, in addition, the cardiovascular variables were measured, by an electrocardiography and photoplethysmography system. Results: There is no significant difference between VO2max in CPET and SMET. While there were statically significant differences between the metabolic, ventilatory, and cardiovascular variables during the peak of CPET and SMET. Conclusion: The SMET at 110% of CPET workload should be reliable to confirm true VO2max reached during CPET, in just one day, with different integrated responses of metabolic, ventilatory, and cardiovascular variables. Study 2- Aim: To evaluate the prediction of CH using artificial intelligence (AI) methods from data obtained by wearable technologies, in addition to using an explainable method of AI to investigate how CH can be estimated from the longitudinal signals acquired by wearables during activities of daily living (ADLs). Methods: 43 volunteers of both sexes were evaluated, aged between 19 and 72 years, and with different levels of aerobic power. The first stage consisted of the evaluation of the CH by CPET with incremental protocol. The second stage was performed in non-supervised environments to collect the longitudinal data (for 7 days) with a smart shirt with three embedded sensors. Finally, the last stage was the training of AI algorithms to predict the CH in addition to the use of an explanatory method. Results: There is a positive, strong and statistically significant correlation between the VO2max measured during CPET and that predicted by AI techniques. The most important inputs were age, heart rate, hip acceleration, weight and height (considering the Hemodynamic and Anthropometric domains) used to predict VO2max, using the explainable models. Conclusion: The VO2max can be predicted by wearable technologies associated with AI, by a support vector machine. Explanatory models were used to extract clinical insights from these predictions. Study 3- Aim: To verify the correlation between the biological and accelerometry variables from a wearable system during different intensities and the CH, in addition, to verifying the differences in biological responses in front of the different intensities of ADLs. Methods: 43 volunteers of both sexes, aged between 19 and 72 years, and with different levels of aerobic power The stages 1 and 2 were conducted as the same as described before in Study 2. Finally, the last stage was the stratification of three free ADLs intensities: low, moderate, and vigorous. Results: Biological and accelerometry data during unsupervised vigorous-intensity ADLs correlated with CH. There are statistically significant differences between the intensities for these variables. Conclusion: The biological and environmental data from a wearable system is related to CH during unsupervised vigorous-intensity ADLs. General Conclusions: Therefore, it was possible to confirm the true CH in a single laboratory visit by an SMET at 110% of the CPET workload. Furthermore, it was possible to predict the CH using two AI models and with an explanatory method. In addition, the CH was correlated with vigorous-intensity ADLs. All these findings were performed in a population with a broad spectrum of maximum aerobic power (VO2max).Item type:Item, A igualdade de gênero na ciência brasileira: um estudo da ocupação feminina nos Institutos Federais de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia da Região Sudeste(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-05-27) ;Rocha, Etiene Siqueira ;Pedro, Wilson José Alves ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8135701448186851 http://lattes.cnpq.br/1846482205412825Science, Technology, and Society (STS) Studies encompass feminist epistemology that is dedicated to the debate on the impact of gender relations in the production of scientific knowledge mainly. In this sense, the main purpose of this study was to trace female participation in S&T, through a study at the Institutos Federais Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia (IF) in the Southeast region of the country from 2008 to 2020. It bases the discussion on the need for (re)existence of public policies for gender equality in S&T outlined since 2004. The specific purposes are to characterize the women who make up the teaching and administrative staff at the IF; to map the participation of women in the administrative and academic management of the IF; to observe the female representation in the research groups and scientific journals of the IF; analyze the academic production of professors holding the IF; to verify the performance of the academic community of the IF from the perspective of gender issues; and looking at female aging in IF, paying attention to factors that may be decisive for their permanence in these spaces. For that, a documental analysis of primary and secondary information sources of public character produced by the Federal Government was carried out, as well as a bibliometric analysis of the academic production of the professors who are professors of the IF. The study pointed out that, throughout the analyzed period, women in the IF were mainly white young women and the increase observed in the number of women present in the IF are still underrepresented in some scientific areas and have made little progress. in positions of greater prominence and academic success. It was also possible to observe that they are a minority in the editorial bodies of journals, with the female participation in scientific committees being less unequal. The professors' academic production indicated a preference for proceeding as well as for the collaborative work that was established with both IF colleagues and external researchers with emphasis on Southeast Region institutions. As for the research groups led by women, it was possible to verify that the figure of the 2nd leader was composed of women, as well as the composition of the groups was equal. It was possible to identify numerous actions focused on the debate of asymmetries in S&T and on the promotion of gender equality in the Southeast Region, with emphasis on the number of activities at the IFSP and IFRJ. However, the IFSULMG, despite the wide academic production, did not present activities focused on gender issues in S&T. The proposed study contributed to the area by bringing light to the participation of women who help in the formation and teaching of S&T in the country. That said, it can be considered that the incorporation of a gender perspective is essential for a change in the S&T paradigm, making scientific and technological knowledge free from gender bias and androcentrism.Item type:Item, Plano de negócio de uma fábrica de painéis monolíticos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-05-29) ;Renno, Bruno Matile ;Giorgetto, Guilherme Pedroso ;Cunha-Nardy, Neila Conceiçãohttps://lattes.cnpq.br/6586808642504798The business plan aims to demonstrate the feasibility of a monolithic panel factory, located in Cravinhos-SP. While our competitors practice on average, values of R$ 150.00/ m², Trêss Panels will practice on average values of R$ 85.00/ m² for Constructors and Houses of Construction Material. Considering an investment of BRL 12,000,000.00, the company, through its earnings projections, would take approximately 8.5 years for payback, with an internal rate of return of 13.06%. The company's average ROI over 5 years is set at 12.46%. Considering that civil construction is on the rise, having grown by 4% in 2021, the moment is for the insertion of a new construction method, which is beneficial for the environment, for the builder and for the customer. For the environment through sustainable features, for the builder through lightness and speed, and for the customer through comfort and mostly through savings in financial resources.Item type:Item, Participação da rafe bulbar na regulação da temperatura corporal em ave precoce(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-05-30) ;Silva, Caroline Cristina ;Bícego, Kênia Cardoso ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/0169967378071426https://lattes.cnpq.br/6987381269659614Numerous evidences in rodents indicate that caudal brain regions, such as the raphe, are involved in the activation of production effectors (tremor-dependent and tremor-independent thermogenesis) and conservation (peripheral vasoconstriction) of thermal energy. On the other hand, in birds, which had an evolutionary trajectory for acquiring endothermy totally separate from mammals, this scenario of neural regulation of body temperature is not clear. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the participation of medullary raphe in the activation of thermoeffectors of cold (thermogenesis and peripheral vasoconstriction) and heat (dry and evaporative heat loss) in chicks in the first week of post-hatch life. For this, body temperature, oxygen consumption (thermogenic index), pulmonary ventilation (thermal tachypnea to heat or hyperpnea to cold) and dry heat loss index (from skin temperature) were measured in animals with inhibition and activation of rafe and subjected to cold (26°C), heat (36°C) or neutral environment (31°C). Inhibitions and activations were performed with local microinjection of GABA and NMDA glutamate receptor antagonists. And the results indicated the existence of glutamatergic and GABAergic excitatory influences on the medullary raphe of chicks modulating thermogenesis, and glutamatergic stimulation preventing tachypnea, without having any role in the defense responses to heat. Since the raphe is the main serotonergic region of the brain, the participation of serotonergic neurons in this region in the thermoeffector responses of chicks exposed to cold and heat was also verified. However, analysis of the activation of chick medullary raphe neurons showed that they are activated in the cold (increased expression of c-Fos) and are involved in thermogenesis, but do not appear to be those that synthesize serotonin, since a low percentage of neurons serotonergics expressed c-Fos and there was no effect of serotonergic neuron-specific injury on thermoeffector activity. In addition to serotonergic neurons, the medullary raphe of chicks was also shown to have GABAergic neurons, and the lesion of these neurons affected Tc, O2 consumption, and influenced the ventilatory pattern under cold and thermoneutral conditions. Thus, the results indicate that, unlike in mammals, the modulation of thermogenic and ventilatory responses to cold by medullary raphe in chicken chicks does not involve serotonergic neurons. Among other phenotypes of neurons possibly involved in this neural modulation, we evidence a role for GABAergic raphe neurons. Such results open a new perspective related to the neural regulation of body temperature in endothermic vertebrates.Item type:Item, Sexting e divulgação não consensual de imagens intimas na adolescência: inovações metodológicas e processos de resiliência(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-05-30) ;Muniz, Haryadny Kamylla Macedo ;Pessoa, Alex Sandro Gomes ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4333565964821090https://lattes.cnpq.br/9489980020335145The expression sexting is used to denote activities that involve sending text messages, images and videos with sexual content and/or intimate images. Although the practice of sexting is a contemporary expression of sexuality and does not represent, a priori, a risk factor for the development of adolescents, there are risk factors associated with its practice. The exposure of intimate images in a non-consensual way appears as one that brings suffering to the lives of children, who are mostly women. As it is a dangerous phenomenon, images of intimate exhibition complexes with teenagers can be delivered. This occurs, between the difficulties of access for the victims and the possibility of re-victimization of the adolescents, which can be verified on the coerced with research teams. Based on these findings, this dissertation was organized into two articles. In Article 1, we study how adolescents are themes presented in a collection of com, especially in data studies that involve sensitive data, a research modality that involves the collection of adolescents in digital format. In important hypotheses, it is known that as video platforms, teenagers were allowed to share their stories in the way they felt most appropriate and convenient. Some of the teenagers were informed this time for the first time that they had addressed the matter publicly. The fact that teenagers have the opportunity to edit the videos is also relevant, as it allows them to reflect on the content they produce and share what they really want, exercising a leading role. Also, by recording the videos in spaces they choose and feel, they enable spontaneity and authenticity, the fundamental requirements in research. In Article 2, we sought to analyze protective factors and nearby resilience processes in adolescents who had images released in a non-consensual manner. For this, videos of teenagers residing in Brazil and the United States were selected who had their intimate images released without consent and who voluntarily published their reports on an online video platform. This was a qualitative, exploratory-descriptive case study, based on a multiple study. After defining the reports of teenagers presented on the YouTube platform, 15 videos were selected, 9 videos with reports of teenagers in the United States and 6 videos of residents in the United States and 6 videos of residents in Brazil. Data was analyzed using computer techniques. 3 topics were reported in Article 2, namely: (i) Interfaces between and protection; (ii) “This made me who I am”: Resilience Processes experienced by adolescents; (iii) ‘No face, no story’: Protagonism and Harm Reduction Recommendations. Both articles are released and disseminated for the scientific advancement produced in the area.Item type:Item, “Mulher serve pra tudo...”?: O feminino nas vozes de mulheres de diferentes gerações(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-05-30) ;Gaudenci, Anna Giulia Coppe ;Silva, Vanda Aparecida da ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/9920701759600807https://lattes.cnpq.br/9583151837567400This work aims to understand the dynamics of interpersonal relationships experienced by women and other people from different family nuclei, and, thus, bring their views on their bodies and the female, from the transmission of knowledge between generations. It is intended to understand how the construction of gender identities from the family nuclei takes place, considering “gender” as a social and historical construction and of education for the female as a learning process. From this, the intention is to bring elements about the different origins and different traditions and cultures that women translate through memories. It is concluded from the research that the perceptible cultural changes from one generation to the other point to the possibility of establishing more democratic and egalitarian relationships between women. Therefore, the method used was the collection of oral reports, through semi-structured interviews, with 10 women belonging to three different family groups and from different generations: granddaughters, daughters, grandparents and great-grandparents.Item type:Item, Lean UX Research: um framework para pesquisa em design construtivo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-05-30) ;Ferreira, Vinícius Afonso Raimundo ;Zaina, Luciana Aparecida Martinez ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/0192085115595443https://lattes.cnpq.br/9434475545998260Constructive Design Research (CDR) aims to produce design knowledge through experimentation and debate within the academic community about the process of designing and evaluating an artifact. However, many studies in this area neglect important details when reporting the methodology and procedures used, as well as the context and justifications for the decisions made in both design and evaluation, negatively affecting the contribution of these studies in a theoretical and practical sense. This neglect is due to the lack of structure, clarity, and objectivity of the documentation. In this context, this Ph.D. thesis proposes a framework called Lean UX Research, composed of a process model associated with a set of guidelines that help the production of scientific knowledge through more focused design research with an artifact and a more concise and structured CDR. This framework extends the Lean UX methodology, an iterative process of creating, validating, and reflecting on prototypes to find a solution to complex problems based on agile methods. Thus, the model and guidelines allow researchers to situate themselves in the CDR, selecting the most appropriate methods and tools at each stage. The formalization of this framework involved a broad literature review of design processes and design research, and agile methods applied in design and documentation to be grounded in the theory and state of the art of existing practices. To evaluate the framework, an inspection by experts was carried out, which resulted in its refinement, establishing a methodological framework that supports design and research equally, while avoiding unnecessary documentation. Thus, as a product of better documentation of the design research process, it is possible to build and refine theories, methods, and tools. Furthermore, the adoption of research programs in this framework will allow research to progress in a more linear way, consolidating Design as a discipline and a research practice.Item type:Item, Influência da gestão de casos em um programa de prevenção de quedas para idosos nas variáveis funcionais: estudo clínico randomizado(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-05-30) ;Alberto, Silsam Napolitano ;Ansai, Juliana Hotta ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1028110691131464 ;Gramani-Say, Karinahttps://lattes.cnpq.br/5096508613057074Advances in technological, economic and health conditions have increased the life expectancy of human beings. Currently, the number of older adults is approximately 1 billion worldwide according to the World Health Organization. One of the major concerns of the older population is the falls risk. In Brazil, the prevalence of falls in 2017 ranged from 10% to 35% in older people living in urban areas. Falls generate high expenses for public and private health systems; have harmful consequences for the physical and mental health of the older adults, such as fractures, injuries, injuries, psychological consequences, such as fear of falling again, loss of confidence and social isolation, in addition to institutionalization, increase in emergency room visits and long-term hospitalizations. Case management seeks to identify the problems and conditions that can change for the older adults individually in order to meet the needs found, this model of care associated with the health care plan is able to offer physical, psychological and social assistance that goes beyond the traditional models of health care. Therefore, this dissertation aimed to evaluate the influence of case management applied to a fall prevention program in order to reduce the risk of new episodes of falls in the older adults. The dissertation was divided into two studies. Study 1 “A Case Management Program at Home to Reduce Fall Risk in Older Fallers: a Single-Blind Randomized Controlled Trial Protocol (Magic Study)”. Objectives: to describe the protocol used in a single-center, parallel-group (Intervention Group and Control Group) and single-blind (evaluators) randomized clinical trial involving a case management-based fall prevention program for older adults who had suffered 2 or more falls in the last 12 years. months. Methods: Community-dwelling older adults will be volunteers and will perform an initial assessment by video call and will be randomly allocated into one of 2 groups: intervention group or control group, volunteers from the intervention group will be invited to participate in the 16-week intervention with physical activity and management risk factors for falls at home by telephone and video calls, the volunteers in the control group will maintain their usual routine, after 16 weeks all will be reassessed by video call. Results: To date, 52 older adults have been recruited for the study. Study 2 “Influence of case management in a fall prevention program for the older people on functional variables: Randomized Clinical Study”. Objectives: To assess the effects of a case management-based fall prevention program on postural balance, functional capacity, presence and sites of pain, falls risk, and risk for osteoporotic fractures over the next 10 years in community-dwelling older adults who suffered 2 or more falls in the last 12 months. Methods: Sixty-two community-dwelling older adults volunteers underwent an initial assessment by video call, after which they were randomly allocated to one of 2 groups: intervention group or control group, volunteers from the intervention group were invited to participate in the 16-week intervention with physical activity and management of risk factors for falls at home by telephone and video calls, the volunteers in the control group maintained their usual routine, after 16 weeks all were reassessed by video call. The evaluators were blinded to the randomization and allocation of volunteers in the groups. Results: There were significant differences after the intervention in the improvement of functional capacity and balance evaluated by the Up and Go Test in the Control group. There were no other significant differences in balance, functional capacity and lower limb strength and in the presence of pain among the volunteers. Conclusion: The association of case management in a program for the prevention of falls in older adults fallers in the community did not present significant results in the functional variables, but it was important for the characterization of pain and fracture probability for the next 10 years in this population.
