Studies and daily practices show that there is an exclusion of diversities (gender, racial, social, ethical, political) in this field. The research was guided by the theories of Feminist Science and Gender Studies, studies supported by researchers such as Marcia Barbosa and Betina Lima (2013), Marinês Cordeiro (2017), Teresa de Lauretis (1987), Guacira Louro (1997), Margareth Rago (2013), Hilary Rose (1989), Steven Rose and Lisa Appignanesi (1989), Londa Schiebinger (2001), Carmen Silva and Silvia Camurça (2013), Fabiane Silva (2012) and Alessandra Alves (2021). Historically, in the process of development of science in Brazil, some social segments were markedly contemplated with the attraction of their members and women were not part of these segments. In this period of the covid-19 pandemic, the training process offered by federal universities in the country started to be carried out remotely. Most women begin to develop their academic training, in the exact sciences, within their homes. From this scenario, the research under development aims to map the intensities of these movements made by them during the pandemic, anchored in the thoughts of philosophers Deleuze and Guattari and authors Suely Rolnik (1989) and Virgínia Kastrup (2007). Guided by these authors, the research seeks to map these bodies, historically distanced from the field of exact sciences, and in the current singular moment of the covid-19 pandemic, bodies present and resistant in this space. Fungal infections (FIs) represent an example of these emerging diseases, accounting for approximately 1.7 million deaths annually. The fungus Candida albicans can act as an opportunistic pathogen that has the ability to form biofilms as a resistance mechanism. C. albicans biofilms are resistant to antifungal agents, therefore, the search for alternative therapies that are able to inactivate biofilms is necessary. Alternative treatments arise, such as photodynamic inactivation (PDI), sonodynamic (SDI) and sonophotodynamic (SPDI). The present work analyzed PDI, SDI and SPDI, mediated by Curcumin as a photosensitizer in the inactivation of C.albicans biofilms, in addition, the work evaluated the role of ultrasound and light parameters in sonophotodynamic inactivation. Thus, the results showed that SPDI, PDI and SDI were able to reduce viability by 6.0; 1.2; 2.0 log, respectively, compared to the control biofilm. The results showed that with low doses of US, the effectiveness of the treatment decreases, and with higher doses, the effectiveness is greater, therefore, the US has a fundamental role in the effectiveness. The results also demonstrate that the use of light in combination with US is a promising alternative option to overcome limitations of PDI and SDI. These aspects reinforce and encourage the use and evaluation of SPDI for microbial diseases.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Relações entre autoritarismo e fracasso escolar: atitudes de agentes escolares profissionais e implicações na vida escolar de estudantes do ensino médio(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-02-13) Marcato, Célio Tiago; Conti, Celso Luiz Aparecido; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6967887143687279; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1792573254284850; https://orcid.org/0009-0003-2001-3669This work was intended to establish a relationship between inappropriate professional school agents’ postures and negative implications in the students' school life, and also to set up guidelines for action in order to overcome these situations. For this, in light of the communicative methodology, conceptual investigations were carried out, through review and bibliographical survey, in national and international databases, in order to form a synthesized theoretical framework, aiming at definitions of concepts presented in the hypothesis of this research, precisely authoritarianism and school failure. Then, field research was carried out to identify inappropriate practices at school, focusing on authoritarian practices and actions, and their consequences in relation to attendance, performance, dropout and retention, the main evidence of school failure. As research subjects, we have established high school students from the Araraquara region, and as the main sample, we have defined students who graduated from regular high school between 2012 and 2017 and who are currently studying technical education. We have concluded that there are some opened and camouflaged practices of authoritarianism by professional school agents, such as disrespect, manifested by offenses to the student's cognitive capacity, class prejudice, unwillingness to dialogue and the chances of recovery. We have concluded, by extension, that these practices imply school failure, whether in attendance, performance, retention or, at the limit, dropout. Finally, in a propositional way, we have guided towards an action to overcome situations of authoritarianism from professional school agents in order to minimize the possibilities of school failure and, in effect, increase the possibilities of overcoming situations of social vulnerability.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Modelagem da rugosidade de insertos de metal duro com base na topografia do rebolo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-02-13) Costa, Hugo Emanoel de Andrade; Ventura, Carlos Eiji Hirata; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1689198421096127; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1640243504857858After sintering, cemented tungsten carbide cutting inserts are ground so that the final dimensions can be obtained and surface defects can be reduced. To quantify the insert surface quality after the finishing process, different roughness parameters are measured, which depend on the process conditions and, mainly, on the grinding wheel topography. In order to reduce carrying out experiments to determine the conditions that lead to optimal roughness values, which involves consumption of time and resources, several analytical and numerical models have been applied. In this research, however, it is proposed the use of a graphic model, elaborated through CAD software, based not only on the kinematics of the process, but also on the characteristics of the grinding wheel topography and of the workpiece, such as geometry and spatial distribution of the abrasive grits. As obtained through the graphic models, the Rayleigh distribution used to position the grit about to its protrusion, grinding wheels with smaller grain protrusion and inserts with lower initial roughness led to lower values of final roughness. For the surfaces simulated with the real grinding wheel topography, in general, it was observed that higher grain protrusion or number of active cutting edges caused an increase in roughness, as the surface was significantly modified.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Adolescência e ansiedade: interfaces com a Educação(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-02-13) Silva, Matheus Henrique da; Sant'Ana, Izabella Mendes; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7860235863062183; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8689050972573634Adolescence is a phase characterized by numerous changes, covering bodily, cultural and psychosocial aspects that can be related to situations of mental illness, in particular, symptoms related to anxiety. This work aims to address the relationship between adolescence, anxiety and education, considering dimensions related to the development and school life of adolescents (specifically high school students), with a view to focusing on theoretical assumptions related to these themes and their possible connections. For that, a narrative review was carried out (ROTHER, 2007). The following topics are addressed: concept and historical context of adolescence; puberty and psychosocial aspects of adolescent development; anxiety and adolescence, historical aspects of education and school; and about the adolescent’s school life. It discusses the importance of carrying out proposals for the prevention and awareness of anxiety in schools, monitoring and offering the necessary specialized support to adolescents who have difficulties in dealing with the pressures and conflicts that may arise at this stage and during their schooling, seeking to create possibilities for the psychosocial strengthening of this subject and his better integration into society. It is concluded that adolescence is historically constituted in social and economic relations and is not made in biological changes, with the experience of adolescents being marked by the biases of capitalist society and man’s behavior in contemporary times.
