This assessment considers all stages in which it performs its function, from obtaining resources for production to final disposal. Often, the production stage generates various marketable products, such as in biorefineries, industries whose backbone is the production of biofuels along with a portfolio of other higher-value-added products. Although the contribution of industrial processing to environmental impact is typically lower than that of the agricultural sector, it is from the gates of these multiproduct processes that the final products emerge. Thus, the method employed for allocating environmental impact indices to the various products plays a crucial role in valuing, comparing, and improving production processes. However, there is still no consensus on the most appropriate allocation method. In this context, the objective of this study was to develop a systematic, first-principles-based method for detailed accounting of impacts throughout the industrial process. The new proposed method was compared to the global allocation approach, taking as a case study a sugarcane biorefinery producing ethanol and electricity. In this case study, the proposed allocation method calculated an impact of 27.44 g CO2 eq/MJ for anhydrous ethanol and 4.68 g CO2 eq/MJ for electricity, representing 94.11% and 5.81% of the total impacts of the analyzed process, respectively. In comparison, the classical energy allocation method calculated an impact of 21.89 g CO2 eq/MJ for both products, representing 75.08% for ethanol and 24.92% for electricity. It was found that the proposed method allowed for separating the impacts associated with each production process, without penalizing one product for the impacts generated by the other product. The first study is a systematic review of specific Behavior Analysis books and journals on self-esteem. Key findings include the scarcity of studies and the lack of a well-established behavioral definition for the concept. The second is a theoretical study that seeks to understand the concept of self to comprehend self-esteem and proposes a behavioral definition that takes into account the relevant factors in its construction, especially social interactions. The third study investigates the applicability of the Function Acquisition Speed Test (FAST) in measuring self-esteem, comparing the results obtained with those of a Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale. The results indicate positive self-esteem in participants, both in the FAST and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, though no correlation was found between the results of the two instruments. Thus, it is of great interest to develop processes for the direct oxidation of methane to methanol via more sustainable and cost-effective routes, which would also reduce methane emissions to the atmosphere and, consequently, its impact as a greenhouse gas. Despite the scientific advances achieved in the study of this process, the breakage of the C-H bonds of the methane molecule remains a challenge, which has encouraged the development of highly active and selective catalysts. The studies have focused on exchanging zeolites with oxidized metallic cations to recreate the reactivity mechanism like that found in the enzyme methane monooxygenase, which converts methane to methanol under atmospheric conditions of temperature and pressure. In the discussed context, the objective of the work was to study the direct oxidation of methane to methanol over zeolites Y and mordenite exchanged with copper oxo-cations, analyzing the influence of the zeolitic structure and the activation conditions on the formation, nature, and activity of the generated species, as well as the conditions related to the methane reaction. The activated Cu-zeolites were characterized by energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, nitrogen physisorption, scanning electron microscopy, hydrogen, and methane temperature-programmed reduction, and in situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy by transmission mode. In order to determine the active species generated during activation and their subsequent consumption during methane reaction, both operated isothermally, in situ ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy analysis was performed. All the studied Cu-zeolites were able to convert methane to methanol. The activity profiles of the zeolite Y and mordenite were associated with the nature of the generated active copper species and their reaction temperature with methane. The in situ DRS-UV-Vis spectra showed bands related to dimeric and trimeric copper species in both the studied Cu-zeolites. The power consumption is due to the machining forces involved in these movements, related with the cutting parameters and cutting tool geometry. This relationis usually presented in machining class in a theoretical form, being made through the Orthogonal cutting theory, the Merchant’s model and the Kienzle’s model for cutting forces. This thesis first present these three theories, and aiming to provide an experimental activity for the machining classes, presents the design and instrumentation of a tool holder for measurement of machining forces. Both tool holder design and instrumentation, are present with an integrative look with other subjects of the mechanical engineering course, approaching mainly the use of materials mechanics. Federal Law No. 9433, enacted in 1997, established a way of managing water in Brazil based on the integration among sectors, participation of different actors, and on decentralized decision-making processes. This law also determined a set of institutions responsible for its implementation, composed of federal, state, district, and river basin levels entities, which is called the National Water Resources Management System (NWRMS). However, part of the existing difficulties in implementing these molds of water management may be since that NWRMS is not consolidated yet and these institutions have found obstacles to acting according to their responsibilities. Thus, this research objective was to identify and analyze the gaps, difficulties, and challenges that the NWRMS bodies have been facing, to investigate possible civil society synergies, and collaborations in water management and governance. These limitations identification were possible with a Systematic Review of the literature combined with the Content Analysis. To consider the importance of social actors involved in water management and governance, even if they do not participate in an institutionalized way in NWRMS, semi-structured interviews were carried out with representatives of movements, initiatives, and civil society organizations, whose responses were also examined with the Content Analysis use. The results indicate that there are a series of structural aspects, disputes, and interconnected operational constraints that hinder the promotion of integrated, decentralized and participatory water management. It was also noted that the civil society entities that are active in water governance have aligned perceptions about the limitations of NWRMS with the aspects found in the specialized literature. In addition, it was observed that the performance of entities, such as those interviewed, despite the latent potential, has contributed indirectly to the functioning of NWRMS. Within the analyzed context, it is pointed out that the main synergies brought by initiatives, movements, and civil society organizations are found in water governance, in which they have acted to sustain accomplished practices, claim improvements, and resist setbacks in water management. The effects of varying concentrations of MnOOH, PMS and pH, on morphological, structural, chemical, and electrochemical changes were studied during and after the experiments. The CIP molecule was completely oxidized and partially mineralized (~ 60%) after 6 h under acidic conditions. The mechanism of CIP degradation was induced by PMS activated oxidants (HO• and 1O2) and, to a lesser extent, directly on the surface of MnOOH. The latter process was evidenced by transmission electron microscopy showing the formation of an amorphous shell (MnOx) over MnOOH crystallites, as verified using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and the subsequent increase of the charge transfer resistance that hindered a further electron transfer to the PMS oxidant. We study the spectrum of a multiplicative perturbation XU (UX) with U and X unitary operators. Specifically, we find similar results for the Howland, Weyl-von Neumann Theorems and the continuous singular spectrum for a perturbation of rank one.
