A docência no Instituto Federal – campus Itapetininga no contexto da verticalização do ensino: horizontes possíveis
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-08-07) Carvalho, Ana Carolina Medeiros Gatto Vieira; Sant'Ana, Izabella Mendes; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7860235863062183; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9381-350X; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5433928294320958; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2305-6539
This work investigated how Professional and Technological Education Professors experience vertical education at the Federal Institute – Campus Itapetininga. The methodological approach of the research was configured from the Historical-Cultural Theory, specially in the "experience" concept proposed by Vigotski (1995, 2000, 2001). Data come from three primary sources: systematic mapping, document consultation, and interviews with professors. The results indicate that teaching is a profession that is constituted for the participants through their personal and professional experiences and their relationship with students and co-workers, enabling professional development. Training is considered necessary, but greater importance is given to previous experiences/knowledge in vocational training and sharing experiences with peers. Verticalization is understood as a formative itinerary between high school and graduate school, covering specificities in the different levels of education, difficulties, potentialities, and tensions resulting from this process. Concerning teaching at the Federal Institute, good working conditions are highlighted, such as remuneration, infrastructure, class hours, research and extension activities development, and positive relationships with students and colleagues. However, a few difficulties related to the verticalization of teaching in the IF are addressed, which, in general, are seen as a potentiality of the educational work. The teachers' experiences rescue subjective aspects and significant situations in professional practice. The investigation presents a proposal for a training path for these teachers. This work develops the "multifaceted teaching" concept, which seeks to portray the complexity of vertical teaching work in Federal Institutes. The study shows the training needed for Professional Education teachers, carried out in a planned and systematic way, and discusses the importance of the professional induction period in the EBTT teacher's career and collective spaces for continuing education, considering the teaching role in this vertical process.

The anti-asylum movement is a social and political movement that aims to transform the mental health care model, overcoming the asylum logic, which involves the isolation and exclusion of individuals with mental disorders in psychiatric hospitals. In this perspective, studying the impact of the anti-asylum movement on new public mental health policies presents a relevant topic to foster a debate aimed at promoting equality, well-being, and social inclusion of individuals with mental disorders. The methodology adopted involved conducting a literature review. It is concluded that the Anti-Asylum Movement in Brazil represents a highly relevant social and political movement in the pursuit of guaranteeing human rights and the dignity of individuals with mental disorders. Regarding public mental health policies, it is necessary to strengthen them, invest in the training of qualified professionals, and promote awareness and sensitization of the population regarding issues related to mental disorders.

This dissertation reports on an investigation carried out within the Group of Studies and Research on School Organization: Democracy, Human Rights and Principals’ Training – DEFORGES, having as its theme school leaderships in a public-school democratic administration perspective. The general objective was to map out scientific productions on school leadership in Brazilian basic education to identify possibilities for strengthening schools’ democratic administration. The specific objective was to analyze and systematize its theoretical references, methodologies, and results. The guiding question was: how are school leaderships configured in Brazil, based on the scientific production found in Brazilian digital databases, regarding strengthening the public schools’ democratic administration? From a methodological point of view, this was a qualitative, descriptive, and analytical meta-study. The databases consulted were the CAPES Journals, Theses and Dissertations Portal, the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations – BDTD and the Google Scholar search engine, in the time frame from 2018 to 2022. The corpus of analysis comprised 18 works – 10 articles, six dissertations and two theses, which were selected through bibliographical research procedures, with analytical syntheses being elaborated for each one of them. Then, the sections dedicated to the metamethod, meta-analysis and metatheory were developed, the latter using the technique of content analysis of the data, for which the MAXQDA 22 software was used. The analysis of the corpus enabled an advance in the theme of school leaderships, present in some works, with democratic assumptions, that is, of collective participation, decision distribution of and awareness of those involved. In this democratic context, school leaders can emerge in all school segments – in addition to the administrative one, as it was evidenced in this dissertation, including teaching leadership.

    The memristive response in solids
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-08-07) Silva, Rafael Schio Wengenroth; Richard, Victor Lopez; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4492188799583104; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7897-3860; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2491908553625300; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9796-2059
In this Master Thesis, we have investigated basic ingredients of the theory of solid state transport, namely the Drude like conductivity and the activation of nonequilibrium charge carriers subjected to a relaxation time, concluding that they are sufficient conditions for a memristive response. These findings point to the natural emergence of memory that, if discernible under adequate set of driving inputs, turns to be the rule and not the exception, with contrasting signatures according to symmetry constraints, either built-in or induced by external factors. Explicit analytical expressions for conductance and content are presented, unveiling very concise and accessible correlations between general intrinsic microscopic parameters such as relaxation times, activation energies, and efficiencies (encountered throughout various fields in Physics) with external drives: voltage pulses, temperature, illumination, etc. Four toy models under different applied bias: sinusoidal and triangular, have been investigated, providing insights about the memory formation, as well as the expressions mentioned above. The model has also been successfully applied to predict and explain memory features in samples based on ZnO thin films that were fabricated and characterized by colleagues, reinforcing its validity. The theory allowed providing values for the system’s fundamental parameters, such as its relaxation time. Finally, the perspectives and directions of the forthcoming research tasks, to be continued on a PhD, are presented, pointing to the extension of the theoretical results by introducing asymmetries in the model and by exploring the topology of the current-voltage characteristics. The model can be extended to other physical systems, such as those based on quantum dots, and by applying the robust mechanism thus far constructed to study, explain, and predict results in experimental realizations, such as in oxide thin films.
