This work focuses on a critical analysis of constitutional democracy in Brazil, especially about the (in)definition of public policies in the electoral process. The aim is to investigate the relationship between the Brazilian electoral system and the speeches contained in government programs, a legal requirement for all executive candidates, to verify whether they reflect the constitutional possibilities of the position they intend to hold. This is because, currently, the political discourse in government programs is predominantly formal and centered on the candidate’s image, without the program presenting/representing substantial governance or, often, concrete proposals for the realization of fundamental human rights embodied in public policies. To this end, brief notes will be made on contemporary democracy, as well as the way in which the circulation of political discourses present in the government programs of the candidates for the head of the Federal Executive Branch in the years 2018 and 2022 that advanced to the second round, to identify the ideological load and concrete density of the proposals, indicating their eventual constitutional limits. Next, the objective guidelines for the formulation of public policies will be outlined, based on the foundations and objectives of the Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil, then a comparison will be made with the candidates’ proposals in order to analyze whether they are compatible, not only with the Constitution, but also with the regime of administrative acts and, finally, the current position of the Judiciary in the effectiveness and guarantee of the protection of fundamental rights with the turn propitiated by neoconstitutionalism, measuring it, with constitutionalism of the future, in order to reveal the judicial enforcement of content, if necessary. The work will be carried out, therefore, based on a bibliographical review and elements of discourse analysis for the confrontation of government programs with the constitutional possibilities of implementing the proposals.

Over time the area of medicine has presented significant advances due to the development of new technologies, diagnostic equipment and treatment of diseases, as well as the advent of new drugs, which result in better results associated with the reduction of side effects to patients. To keep up with these advances, hospital environments must be adequate mainly in relation to new technologies and equipment. In hospital units already in operation, these environments need reforms that must follow specific standards to ensure a minimum standard of care for patients, either by the number and type of professionals, as by the physical structure and equipment to assist in the treatment and eventual cure of patients. The objective of this work is to describe the reform process of the Hospital das Clínicas (HC) of Ribeirão Preto - SP and the implementation of the Nuclear Medicine Laboratory and PET-CT, considering the requirements prescribed in RDC N° 50 - Collegiate Board Resolution number 50 and norms of the National Nuclear Energy Commission (CNEN). To achieve this objective, a bibliographic review was carried out in order to guide the theoretical foundation on the theme and, in sequence, the case study in question was approached, contemplating its characterization, the agents involved, planning and logistics, the scope and specificities of the reforms and its comparative description, considering the precepts of RDC N° 50 and pertinent norms. In conclusion, it was verified the compliance with the normative requirements during the process of reform of the hospital environments of the Hospital das Clínicas (HC) of Ribeirão Preto – SP, despite the difficulties and challenges in carrying out these processes in a hospital in full care to patients.

During supervised internships, future teachers can establish their own professional identity, conceived during professional socialization processes and through acquired learning. In inicial training, like the graduation itself, the teaching identity is constituted, especially, with the experiences of the curricular internship with the teacher-collaborators, enabling different types of learning. It is during the supervised curricular internship that future teachers can have contact with the profession, a time when they can learn and build their identities as teachers and contribute to teaching professionalism, which is built throughout a process, with special attention for the work of the collaborating teachers. However, the obligatory internship is complex, since, by involving two institutions, such as the university and the school, articulation is necessary, aiming at joint work in favor of the learning of future teachers. Thus, this research had as its presupposition the following question: What are the learnings identified by the interns of the degree course in Physical Education arising from the Supervised Curricular Internship? It is proposed, as a general objective, to identify and analyze, from the student`s perspective, the learning acquired in the internships. Specifically, we sought to: a) identify and analyze the learning about teaching perceived by Physical Education interns; b) identify and analyze the trainees' perception of the role of the teacher-collaborator in the construction of the teaching identity. The research approach is qualitative, exploratory, using the questionnaire, semi-structured interview and document analysis as data collection techniques. The collected materials were analyzed based on content analysis and, after the analysis, two axes emerged, as follows: “Learnings about teaching in the supervised Curricular Internship”, in which learnings about teaching are perceived and indicated by Physical Education interns during this stage of initial training, as well as the professional profile to be formed and the structure of the internship; and the second, entitled “The role of the teacher-collaborator in the construction of the teaching identity”, in which the perception of the interns about the role that this professional plays in the construction of their identity was identified and analyzed. From the axes presented, we observe that future teachers recognize the importance of internships for graduation, as well as the relevance of the teacher-collaborator in the context of different learning about teaching and the construction of professional identity. We identified that the interns learn elements related to practices linked to the management of class time, the appropriate language for each age group, the use of spaces and the adaptation of materials for Physical Education classes, but they also point out difficulties concerning the relationship between university and school, indicating the need to bring them even closer together. Finally, we found that learning related to teaching can be acquired during internships and, therefore, there is a need for a commitment to teacher training, strengthening the partnership between university and school.

Software startups differ from established companies because they are organizations that work with innovative products, having a high degree of growth and at the same time dealing with financial uncertainties, lack of time, limited trained professionals and running a high risk of instability in the market. Many startups end up closing in the first few years because they are unable to manage their uncertainties and deliver efficient and differentiated products. Among the various tools that can help these professionals to enrich their products and connect them to their customers, User eXperience methods and techniques are being alternatives to maintain the high quality level of the software. Studies indicate that, for many professionals, UX is an area that is still unexplored, requiring training of the team (in which they usually do not have time) or hiring professionals (in which they usually do not have financial resources). The objective of this master's project was to propose a catalog, called CatUX, which has recommendations for UX Research approaches, methods, techniques and tools to help professionals in software startups. The catalog, available in web format, has detailed explanations about the method, which tools to use and how to apply it. CatUX was proposed based on a thematic analysis of the results of a gray literature review. After extracting and validating the information, the final version of CatUX was defined. CatUX was evaluated from two perspectives: catalog usage and catalog acceptance. The result of the evaluation with real users showed that, despite the need for some adjustments, CatUX is useful and helped the participants to choose the most appropriate approach, method, technique and tool for the situation of each proposed scenario.

Weeds are considered the most limiting biotic factor to production agricultural world, and in citrus, ecological mowing proved to be a viable management option; however, there is a lack of information regarding the interaction with other types of control and with residual herbicides. This study aimed to evaluate over an agricultural year (2022/2023), in an orchard formed by Hamlin orange, the interrow mowings: ecological (ECO) and conventional (CONV); and five weed control programs among citrus plants: mechanical (CM); pre-emergent herbicides (PRE): sulfentrazone (spring), indaziflam (summer); post-emergence (POS): glyphosate (spring), saflufenacil+clethodim (summer); mix between pre and post (PRE+POST): sulfentrazone+glyphosate (spring), indaziflam+saflufenacil+clethodim (summer); and the pre and post duality herbicides (P/P): flumioxazin+glyphosate (spring) and diuron+clethodim (summer). The experimental design was randomized blocks, in a split-plot scheme, with four replications. The plot was composed by the mowing types, and the subplot, by the weed control types. The following were evaluated: biomass deposition, weed control, and the crop development. As main results, ECO associated with PRE, PRE+POST or P/P promoted greater weed control throughout the year (~100%), in addition to greater growth (+4 m³) and fruit yield (+15 t ha-1). It is concluded that there is a positive interaction between ecological mowing and different methods of weed control, physical or chemical.

The analysis of accidents on highways is of great importance for understanding their origins and for the development of road safety. Accidents can occur in specific sections of a road due to various factors, such as engineering design flaws, failures in traffic rule enforcement, and reckless driving. Therefore, the information gathered in these analyses, such as the primary causes, sections with the highest accident rates, and the most common types, allows for proposing effective measures to mitigate their occurrence. Considering the significance of road safety, numerous programs aim to reduce the impact of traffic accidents through the analysis of various influencing factors on accident numbers and severity, followed by the implementation of corrective and preventive measures in the studied segment. Thus, this study proposes an analysis of traffic accidents on a section of the SP-280 highway located in Itu, São Paulo, through the PARE program (Program for Accident Reduction), to determine the most critical sections of that location. A comparison was conducted between a method that determines segment criticality based on victim status weighting and another method that, in addition to weighting, considers traffic volume in the segment. It becomes evident that while there is no alteration in the final result of the most and least critical segments, there is a fluctuation in the level of criticality for other segments, depending on the method used, as the severity rate method incorporates data on the average traffic volume and segment length.

This research aims to discuss Anti-racist Education in the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) in the “Arts” Curricular Component, focusing on the early years of Elementary School. For this purpose, we will use the final version of the document approved in 2017 by the Ministry of Education (MEC). The research is a bibliographic, qualitative and documentary study from the perspective of Content Analysis and the principles of Communicative Methodology. Initially, we can point out that the Education for Ethnic-Racial Relations proposed by the BNCC does not offer subsidies and objective notes for an Anti-racist Education. In this sense, we justify the importance of research to understand how the BNCC articulates an Antiracist Education or if, in fact, the document's proposals make an Inclusive Education for Ethnic-Racial Relations unfeasible. As an initial theoretical support, we resorted to research carried out by Gomes (2005) in the field of Ethnic-Racial Relations, Cavalleiro (2001) and his proposals for an Anti-racist Education and Almeida (2019) in the recurrent studies to understand Structural Racism.

The purpose of this work is to discuss the importance of anti-racist education as a part of Art/Education, serving as a catalyst for new cultural paradigms. This perspective is highlighted in the teaching of Art through the enactment of laws 10.639/2003 and 11.645/2008, which make it mandatory to include African and Afro-Brazilian history and culture in the school curriculum, with an emphasis on History, Art, and Literature subjects. The main research question is: "What is the significance of Art/Education in anti-racist education?" To address this question, the author of this study explored personal learning experiences in the field of Art, official legislations, and relevant bibliographical references on the topic. The results point to the urgency of combating racism in pedagogical practices, which often remain rigid and suppress black identity, leading to stigmatization. Several factors contribute to progress in this matter, with one of them being teacher artistic training. This perspective believes it is essential to promote the teaching of African and Afro-Brazilian arts in Basic Education and initial teacher training, in order to value black identity within our society and counter structural racism.

This paper has as theme the (lack of) knowledge regarding the health of black population by universities professionals of mental health. It researched what knowledge the different university professionals who integrated multidisciplinary teams in two Psychosocial Attention Centers (CAPS) had related to the National Policy of Black Population Integrative Health (PNSIPN), its relation to their qualification processes (both in the undergraduate and permanent qualification) and professional performance. The considered hypothesis was that most professionals did not have or had little knowledge regarding PNSIPN since undergraduate and permanent qualification courses have incorporated neither the content related to the previously mentioned National Policy nor what is determined by the National Educational Curriculum Guideline to the Education Related to Ethinic-Racial Relationships (DCNERER) as well as Afro-Brazilian and African History and Culture. The theoretical reference is mainly founded in intellectuals who discuss health, mental health, racism and colonialism, such as Frantz Fanon, Lélia Gonzalez, Deivison Mendes Faustino, Rachel Gouveia Passos and others. This work includes bibliographic and documental research, questionnaire application and interviews (authorized by the Research Ethics Committee) with eight (8) university professionals from different areas of knowledge who work in two different CAPS managed by the Dr. Cândido Ferreira Health Service in Campinas/SP. It begins with the Brazilian Psychiatric Reform, the disregard with specificities of the black population which determine the proposal of a policy to that group, that black people have a higher percentage of representation in institutions of mental health service, from asylum to the current CAPS. Although the discussion of social determinants means a greater vulnerability of the black population, including psychosocial effects of racism, it is found that the implementation of PNSIPN is still a challenge and there is absence of its discussion in undergraduate, postgraduate courses and/ or permanent education. Data revealed that most professionals did not have advanced knowledge regarding the national policy, undergraduate and postgraduate courses did not provide education on ethinic-racial relationships, health of the black population and related topics and the professional qualification is determining whether or not the professional will have an anti-racist performance. The knowledge of social determinants of health and the health of the black population imply in university professionals' practice of multidisciplinary teams in mental health which were investigated and should consider the unique and diverse characteristics of the served population, such as cultural, ethnic and racial aspects. It was observed the institutional racism is found in practice and discriminatory behavior in the work routine. Furthermore, it was also observed that the life experiences of professionals who declare themselves black and face racism imply in their practice; the permanent qualification can be the fundamental allied in preparation to an anti-racist practice in the health og black population; also, it is urgent the universities incorporate the DCNERER and PNSIPN in their undergraduate and postgraduate courses as well as local governments management and health institutions fulfill their responsibilities regarding the professional qualification.

The present work consists of a bibliographical review on the topic of reverse logistics applied to the main polymers in the automotive industry. Reverse logistics is a process that aims to recover products, materials and components after use, with the aim of reintroducing them into the production cycle or using them for other purposes, such as recycling, energy generation or even the production of raw materials for the manufacture of new materials. The automotive industry is one of the most significant industries in Brazil, but it is also responsible for several environmental problems, including the generation of waste after automobile disposal. Of the waste generated, polymers stand out, which, when compared to other components and materials, have a lower rate of reuse. Thus, the implementation of reverse logistics of polymeric materials can contribute to reducing the environmental impact caused by industry, in addition to generating economic and social benefits. Among the main challenges faced in implementing reverse logistics in polymers in the automobile industry, the complexity of the supply chain, difficulty in adopting the recycling process, the lack of financial incentives and the need for investment in infrastructure and technology stand out. However, reverse logistics can bring several benefits to companies, such as reducing costs with purchasing raw materials, improving the company's image before consumers and society, developing new processes and technologies, and the generation of new business opportunities. To implement reverse logistics in polymers in the automobile industry, companies can adopt several strategies, such as recovering parts and components for reuse, recycling materials, remanufacturing products and selling waste to other companies. Therefore, the objective of this work is to base itself on well-established sustainability cases related to the automotive industry, such as the reverse logistics of tires and metal components, in the search for solutions aimed at the reverse logistics of polymers. With the results compiled by bibliographical research, it is concluded that there is the possibility of using a portion of recycled material in the manufacture of new components, and even the use of some polymers, mainly polyolefins, as an energy source. Simply implementing these practices would not solve the problem of reverse logistics in this industry, but they can serve as a starting point for future studies on this topic.

Several evaluation systems are applied to Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), and good performance in these assessments is crucial for the success of HEIs' institutional projects. In this sense, decision-making processes and strategy development for university management emerge as complex issues, demanding an understanding of the operational environment of these institutions. This involves academic practices in teaching, research, extension, and innovation, the requirements of higher education assessment systems, as well as the performance of organizations operating within their environment. Academic Intelligence Systems (AIS) are developed based on the identification of intelligence needs, employing Competitive Intelligence (CI) practices to support the strategic management of HEIs. The aim of this research was to develop and apply a systematic approach to create indicators of Academic Intelligence that are relevant to HEIs' activities. This approach is grounded in CI concepts and the dimensions of higher education assessment systems. The method employed was an exploratory case study with a qualitative-quantitative approach. The analysis encompassed federal public universities located in the state of São Paulo, Brazil (Universidade Federal de São Carlos, Universidade Federal de São Paulo e Universidade Federal do ABC). Information sources included records from the Currículo Lattes, enriched with other data sources, regarding the background of 3,077 professors engaged in the 158 stricto sensu graduate programs associated with the units under analysis. To identify informational and intelligence demands of the analysis units, academic assessment systems such as the Sistema Nacional de Avaliação da Educação Superior (SINAES), the Sistema Nacional de Avaliação da Educação Superior of CAPES, and university rankings were used. Subsequently, the information sources meeting these demands were identified, categorized, and analyzed using Bibliometrics and Social Network Analysis techniques. The results obtained include: 1] a proposed systematic approach for the development of Academic Intelligence indicators, and 2] a set of Academic Intelligence indicators related to the dimensions of evaluation systems and the intelligence needs of decision-makers in the units of analysis. The results demonstrate the feasibility of obtaining Academic Intelligence indicators using data from the Plataforma Lattes, in combination with the employed analysis techniques and data enrichment. It is believed that these outcomes can contribute to the success of HEIs' institutional projects by enhancing the understanding of their operational environment through Academic Intelligence indicators.

The COVID-19 pandemic was considered a humanitarian crisis for the entire world population. The construction industry went through significant challenges related to the health and safety of its workers, having to adapt to new changes and practices recommended by organizations and governmental entities. This research proposes an action plan for construction companies to face new pandemics based on the health and safety measures implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic. The methods used were a literature review in the context of COVID-19 and workers' health, followed by a diagnosis of two surveys developed by the Social Service of Civil Construction of the State of São Paulo (SECONCI-SP) and the Brazilian Chamber of the Construction Industry (CBIC) which collected information on the impacts and safety measures implemented in engineering companies. The results revealed that the number of works in progress in the first two years of the pandemic remained stable; there was a 4% reduction in permanent workers working in the first year and 1% in the second year. There was a 45% reduction in the number of workers on leave suspected of having COVID-19 in the second year, while the number of workers on leave due to being considered a risk group was higher in 2021 (35% more compared to 2020). Around 79% of companies said they had suffered some impact related to the pandemic. Furthermore, a questionnaire or a practice investigation protocol was drawn up and applied to a construction company in the interior of São Paulo. As a result of the research, an action plan is presented that presents several measures, including training employees regarding the prevention and early diagnosis of the disease, daily measurement of their temperature, taking time off when necessary, providing disposable or fabric masks and uniforms, increased individual and environmental hygiene, favoring natural ventilation and division of activities on the construction site, aiming to maintain distance between workers. It was concluded that in a new pandemic scenario, it would be essential to absorb the previous experience and implement good safety practices at the construction site since this is the central place for thousands of construction workers live together.

Currently, weed control for citrus is more costly, as it is a perennial crop where weeds coexist at the same time and space, thus reducing control options. Also, there are reports of the excessive and inappropriate use of glyphosate by Brazilian citrus growers, which the producers themselves justify due to the current low level of control. Moreover, there is much speculation about the biochemical and physiological consequences of the interaction between citrus and glyphosate, and the existing works are incipient and inconclusive. This study aimed to evaluate the glyphosate implications, elucidating from disturbances in the shikimic acid metabolic route to the identification of the main routes of intoxication between this herbicide and citrus plants. Glyphosate by different routes (leaf, soil, and weeds) was evaluated on two soil types and different doses of glyphosate in Pêra orange tree seedlings. The experimental design was randomized blocks in a triple factorial scheme (2 soil types x 3 glyphosate application sites x 4 doses), three replications, with repeated evaluations over time. As the main results, glyphosate on citrus plants had the worst results for crop development and plant physiology, such as shikimic acid accumulation. At the same time, the application directed at weeds produced the best results since, with the control of these, there was better development of citrus plants, and the application directed at the soil presented insignificant results, regardless of the type of soil. Thus, it is concluded that there are significant differences between the glyphosate application sites and the herbicide doses used.

In this work we analyze the concept of \(p\)-points in \(\omega\) and its relation with forcing, in particular Sacks forcing and side-by-side Sacks forcing. With this we verify that the existence of \(p\)-points with character \(\aleph_1\) is consistent with arbitrarily large \(2^{\aleph_0}\). We then analyze two applications involving \(p\)-points: the construction of a graph without unfriendly partitions and the analysis of the homogeneity of the space \(\beta\omega \setminus \omega\).

In parametric regression models, we often want to test hypotheses regarding the values of their parameters. Specifically, when we depart from the general linear model (random errors with a Normal distribution), the Wald test is one of the most commonly used for this purpose. The square root of the statistic used in this test, known as the Wald statistic, has a standard asymptotic Normal distribution under the null hypothesis. However, various statistical software approximates the distribution of the square root of the Wald statistic with the t-distribution. The main objective of this study is to investigate whether, for regression models considering different distributions of the response variable, the distribution of the square root of the Wald statistic is better approximated in small to moderate samples by the t-distribution or the standard Normal distribution. Conclusions will be drawn from conducting Monte Carlo simulation studies and will be considered for response variables belonging to both exponential and non-exponential families.

The health-disease process is conditioned per many factors denominate social determinants of health, with emphasis for work. During the work, the worker is exposed the many workloads what result in physical and psychological exhaustion. It is known that the nursing work it is precarious conditions that generate exhaustion and disease, being important the understanding this process in areas insufficiently studied for science, with the nurse that work process with tissue and organ procurement. Objective: Understanding the health-disease process of the nurses that working with tissue and organ procurement and identify the workload which nurses are exposed. Method: Descriptive-exploratory study, qualitative, developed at state of São Paulo with nurses that work in tissue organ donation committees for transplantation. The data collection happen by means of individual interview guided by predefined questions for further content analysis. Results: The nurse was identified as an agent of the work process, which has a specific object to the health care needs of potential organ donors and recipients. In addition to specific instruments, which are not used in other areas of health and nursing, to achieve the purpose of the work: obtaining healthy organs and tissues for an effective transplant. It was found that most of the study participants are new, in relation to age, time of training and performance in the Commission and lack specific training to work in organ donation and transplantation. Most of the interviewees do not work exclusively with the Commission, as they are inserted in scenarios marked by the accumulation of functions and work overload. Participants identified the following workloads: physiological, psychic and biological. Conclusions: It is important to emphasize the need for training to exercise the function and provide opportunities for exclusive positions at Donation and Transplantation Commission. The identification of workloads can subsidize actions in worker health to minimize exposure and mitigate wear processes.

After the mid-1980s, wavelet theory quickly spread to many fields. Although wavelet analysis has the ability to decompose data into various time scales and to deal with nonstationary data and time location, this methodology has not become a popular application in economics. This course completion work will use wavelet transformation, wavelet decomposition and wavelet coherence methodologies to analyze the correlation between four financial series, such as the Dow Jones, S&P500, IBOVESPA and Bitcoin. In order to enhance economic analysis, a technique that is little used in the field of economics.

    Acidentes envolvendo incompatibilidade química
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-08-24) Mota, Ana Luiza Capetti; Sitta, Elton; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4326476348284298; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3181-0076
Chemical incompatibility can be determined from the moment that different products, in contact with each other, generate some type of danger. Dangers can be emission of gases, excessive heat, fire or even explosions. When working with chemicals, it is necessary to understand the risks and conditions related to each compound. Thus, it is essential to have knowledge about the chemical reactions, kinetics, and thermodynamics, especially the reaction enthalpy. Furthermore, the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) and the chemical incompatibility table are extremely important to avoid as much as possible accidents, whether on a laboratory or industrial scale and insure adequate storage and transport for each chemical substance. This work presents the study of two accidents that occurred due to chemical incompatibility to exemplify the importance of safety data sheets in the storage, handling, and transport of chemical products. The cases chosen were the accident involving the transport of dangerous products in Rio Claro city; and the accident involving incorrect disposal of products in Pontal city.
