Youth and Adult Education (EJA), a basic education modality, has historically faced invisibility in official education documents in Brazil. The objective of this paper is to analyze how this modality is addressed in recent official education documents: the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) and the São Paulo Curriculum (CP). In addition, it aims to delve deeper into the discussion of the political context surrounding this modality from the 20th century to the present day. To this end, qualitative and documentary research was applied through the exploration of the aforementioned documents. Regarding the perspectives obtained in the National Common Curriculum Base, Youth and Adult Education is little explored in the introduction and does not have any further visibility throughout the document. Regarding the perspectives obtained in the São Paulo Curriculum (CP), Youth and Adult Education has a space in the document with visibility to show that it is a basic education modality and to explore its specificity. The document takes the opportunity to develop the following fact: the methodologies applied in regular education are not applicable to EJA due to the diversity of the subjects and their experiences. The results corroborate the invisibility of Youth and Adult Education (EJA) in the documents, leading to the understanding that this modality has suffered and still suffers from disrespect from government agencies. The investigation helps to reinforce that the documents analyzed serve thousands of people and that this could be an opportunity to, even if minimally, guide curricular paths for this audience.

The present work aims to collaborate with the management of urban green spaces through the technologies of geographic information systems. These spaces impact the life of the population through the provision of ecosystem services, cultural and environmental quality regulation. Based on the mapping of areas available on the SIGAVERDE platform (https://sigaverde.web.app/map), the objective was to validate its operation by monitoring maintenance/cutting/pruning process and verifying the indexes corresponding to vegetation growth. The observation of the vegetation growth rate of Bahiagrass species is intended to facilitate the management of the maintenance/cleaning of a previously delimited area or lot, predicting the growth time, and indicating when the grass is tall, as well as allow the user to register on the platform when maintenance is carried out, thus optimizing the planning processes for better management. The model simulates growth by measuring some environmental stresses, such as water availability and radiation. Seeking to evaluate the model, we used vegetation indices (NDVI and EVI2) obtained from the PlanetScope satellite to estimate the leaf area index (LAIP) and compare this with the model outputs, which return LAI and biomass values. The results show that the model fits relatively well to the real scenario, although there were setbacks in the platform update. With some adaptations for operational conditions, it is believed that it has a lot to contribute to the municipal administration, adding management efficiency, collective participation of citizens and conservation of the environment.

The aim of this paper is to critically analyze the environmental education activities carried out by the Australis Institute in Imbituba/SC during "Whale Month", which celebrates the month with the highest number of right whales (Eubalaena australis) on the southern coast of Santa Catarina. This analysis sought to identify the limits and potential of the educational practices carried out by the Australis Institute team during this month, in 2021, adopting the concepts of dialogue, problematization, contextualization and interdisciplinarity conceived within the framework of the foundations of Critical-Transformative Environmental Education via generating themes as an analytical framework. The results of the analysis reinforce the importance of carrying out activities that address environmental problems, aim to increase visitors' criticality and lead them to critically reflect on the issues addressed, so that they become more aware and can once again feel part of nature, and the analysis also points to new forms of educational approach during the application of the activities developed, using interdisciplinarity as a key point.

In this work, we propose one of the many possible ways in which the scientific method can be introduced in different schools, utilizing simple materials such as a ruler, paper, a twelve-sided die, and creativity. The objective is to promote the development of scientific thinking in high school students through pedagogical interventions, involving activities related to both science and pseudoscience in the classroom. Pseudoscience is represented by Astrology, and the activity is divided into two parts: in the first phase, each student must choose one of the twelve presented characteristics that they identify with the most, and then roll a twelve-sided die, noting the upper face that appears. The idea is to demonstrate that both events are random. On the other hand, science is represented by the scientific method, and the activity involves calculating the area of three different rectangles, so that in the end, students realize that the precision of calculations results from errors and refinements throughout the process. The results obtained show that the majority of personality descriptions chosen by each student do not coincide with their birth sign and follow a random distribution, much like the numbers obtained from the die. They also demonstrate that the values of the area for the rectangle with a more defined border deviate much less compared to the one with a thicker border. This is because achieving a value closer to reality requires adjusting materials, methods, and discussing conclusions with others. This approach allows students to discover connections between different topics, such as the concept of measurement involved in calculating the areas of a simple geometric figure, in this case, the rectangle, and the randomness associated with Western Astrology sun signs.

Biosurfactants are multifunctional compounds of microbial origin of industrial and environmental interest due to their surfactant and emulsifying properties of biodegradable nature and low toxicity. Several culture media and carbon sources are used in the production of these compounds, as well as a wide variety of microorganisms, isolated from multiple environments. The present work aims to promote a bioprospection in the microbiota associated with fruit residues (orange, mango and fruit mix) in order to identify the genetic composition of this microbiota related to the biosynthesis of biosurfactants. For this, the residues were evaluated through a metagenomic approach, where the genetic potential of their associated microbiota for biosurfactant biosynthesis was determined. The residues presented a common core that includes the genera Klebsiella, Enterobacter, Stenotrophomonas, Acinetobacter and Escherichia and similar functional profiles related to biosurfactant biosynthesis, presenting a genetic potential mainly for lipopeptide biosynthesis, with emphasis on genes related to the biosynthesis of putisolvins, mycosubitilin and iturin A. The taxonomic assignments to the genes present in higher abundance in the samples were related to the common core found. From the metagenome, 34 genomes (MAGs) were retrieved, 10 of which were of high quality, which were evaluated for genes related to the production of biosurfactants. MAGs showed genetic potential for the biosynthesis of biosurfactants, especially lipopeptides, corroborating the metagenomic analysis. The MAG OB01 taxonomically identified as Brevibacillus laterosporus stood out for the number of assigned genes. Subsequently, the microorganism isolated from mango residue, identified as Brevibacillus borstelensis ISM04, was used in the fermentation process for the production of biosurfactant using glycerol as a carbon source. The produced biosurfactant showed an emulsifying activity of 67 % in kerosene and showed thermal stability up to 80 °C and at pH range between 6 and 10, in addition, it did not show toxicity in tomato and lettuce seeds. The compound produced was partially characterized and the analyzes suggest that it is a lipopeptide biosurfactant.

The presence of the Deaf Instructor in school contexts is a recent development when compared to the entire history of deaf education in Brazil. This professional, who is part of the proposal for bilingual education, has as his main function to provide the reaffirmation of the identity of deaf students, their specificities, and the valorization of their language and culture. This motivated the research regarding the performance of this professional, since the work of the Deaf Instructor is still little explored in the field of education. The aim of this research was to investigate how the Deaf Instructor's work is carried out, seeking to understand how this work is done and what strategies are used in their workshop to promote the learning of deaf children, considering in this learning the construction of the deaf child's identity and also the valorization of their language and culture. Data collection was carried out through observation of their work in the classroom with deaf children in early childhood education, with records in a field diary, in order to report the practices developed by this professional. It was possible to identify the importance of play in the relationship between the Instructor and the student, based on Vygotsky's studies on language development, mediated by a more experienced adult and the role of play in this acquisition process. The data presented are excerpts from these reports, analyzed in light of studies on language development and deaf identity. The results indicate that the work of the Deaf Instructor is fundamental in the development of the child, focusing not only on teaching (Brazilian Sign Language) Libras, but also on play, relationships, and giving meaning to the elements present in communication, enabling them to acquire knowledge of the world.

In the current Brazilian scenario, one of the facets of violence that most kills individuals is violence motivated by homophobia. One of the forms of homophobia that has the potential to be traumatic for the victims, and which lacks in-depth studies - especially in the areas of qualitative research and psychoanalysis - is that which comes from the family environment, called intrafamilial homophobia. The present study sought to investigate how intrafamilial homophobia can cause long-term traumatic effects on subjectivity, through the qualitative research approach "Method of Narrative Interviews of Free Association", and based on Sándor Ferenczi's theory of trauma. For this, four homosexual men were interviewed, of which two suffered explicit intrafamilial homophobia and two implicit intrafamilial homophobia.

(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-09-04) Camargo, Ludimilla Anny Scopin; Santos, Lara Ferreira dos; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7312070448044165; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2251741959000142
This study addresses the importance of accessibility in health campaigns aimed at the deaf community, highlighting the need to overcome challenges to ensure full social inclusion. Although legislation has advanced, there are still obstacles to ensuring the inclusion of Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) in these contexts. The main objective of the research was to evaluate the accessibility of health campaign videos on the official YouTube channel of the Government of the State of São Paulo, between February 2022 and February 2023. During the analysis, 21 videos related to the theme "health" were found during this period. The evaluation took into account the presence of a Libras interpreter or Libras window, the provision of subtitles, and the use of images and visual resources. The results showed that, in some cases, resources were adopted to make the content accessible, such as interpreters, Libras windows, plain language, and complementary images. The analyses indicate that the inclusion of interpreters or Libras windows, combined with the use of visual resources and more accessible language, is essential to ensure the effective inclusion of the deaf community. Despite the progress, it is still necessary to pressure the government to improve accessibility in health campaigns, ensuring equal access to information and health care for all.

The puerperal pregnancy cycle marks a period of intense changes in the woman's psyche and body, filled with particular emotional demands. Childbirth is an emotionally relevant event, which, depending on its consequences, can significantly impact maternal mental health. The aim of the study is to understand, from the maternal perspective, how the experience of childbirth took place and the thoughts, feelings and emotions involved in this process. To this end, 6 women, recruited in the third trimester of pregnancy, took role in the study. Participants answered a characterization questionnaire, two semi-structured interviews (prenatal and postnatal), the Childbirth Violence Assessment Questionnaire and the Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale (EPDS). Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative data were analyzed using Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). Four of the six interviewees experienced some type of violence during childbirth and two had scores that suggest more intense distress symptoms. The analysis of childbirth reports highlights the diversity of perceptions and emotions in relation to pregnancy and childbirth. The study also emphasized the importance of expectations and the perception of control for the women involved, and the importance of a positive relationship between mothers and health professionals in shaping a positive childbirth experience.
