listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Espinelização em sistemas cerâmicos complexos para aplicações refratárias(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-03-06) Sardelli, José Alvaro Previato; Pandolfelli, Victor Carlos; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7369376873984839; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1711-9804; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5793845745023895; https://orcid.org/0009-0006-1114-6461Refractory bricks containing carbon and in-situ spinelization [Alumina-Magnesia-Carbon (AMC)] are broadly used in steel secondary refining ladle metallurgy. Due to the increasing demand for cleaner steels, there is a growing interest in bricks free from carbon sources and with higher performance. Unlike current material technologies, focusing on concepts of thermal shock resistance and slag resistance, bricks with engineered microstructures, carbon-free and with in-situ or pre-spinelized spinel, emerge as an alternative to meet the current demand for performance and for the low carbon steels production. The usual formulation involves the addition of electrofused alumina sources (brown or white), magnesia sources, carbon sources (graphite, pitch, carbon black, etc.), antioxidants, and a binder, typically based on resins (phenolic or novolac). As an additional contribution to literature and technology, this study proposed in three different technological approaches: i) a comparison between the most addressed aluminate formation mechanisms in the literature (MgAl2O4), compared to ZnAl2O4 formed in-situ or pre-formed added; ii) the addition of ZnO as a mineralizing agent in the Al2O3-MgO system, aiming for the anticipation of spinelization and its impact on properties at lower temperatures; iii) understanding complex spinels systems (Al2O3-MgO-ZnO) and their potential use for refractory applications. It was observed that the distinct in-situ reaction mechanisms base on the added oxides affected the physical and thermomechanical properties of high-alumina bricks, with the Kirkendall effect displaying a significant role. When evaluating the addition of MgO and ZnO in the same system for in-situ spinelization, a positive synergy was observed between the early spinelization of ZnAl2O4 and the benefits of the presence of MgAl2O4 at high temperatures. Additionally, when adding zinc in the form of pre-formed or complex spinel, considerable improvements in properties were noted, expanding, and innovating the possibilities of using ZnO in refractory ceramics.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Acessibilidade informacional e comunicacional em editais de ingresso da Educação Superior: um estudo de caso(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-03-06) Braseliano, Luana Alves de Abreu; Cabral, Leonardo Santos Amâncio; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5306031040506357; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3520-3687; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8341642245610493; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6912-6184Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) are important social historical-cultural spaces, for development, through their teaching, research, extension, management and coexistence activities. However, people with disabilities have found it difficult to access the information that guarantees the materialization of their formal rights to enter, stay and graduate from this level of education. Against this backdrop, the general aim of this research was to identify and analyze, from an accessibility perspective, the communication and information elements that make up undergraduate admission notices. Specifically, the aim was to: (a) identify the main variables that cross-cut the drafting and/or revision of formal documents with a communicational and informational accessibility approach; (b) understand students' perspectives in relation to higher education admission instruments; (c) analyze the facilitating and hindering communicational, informational and technological aspects present in digital assets related to undergraduate admission notices; (d) propose structural, informational, linguistic and technological guidelines for preparing accessible notices. This is a predominantly qualitative case study. Data was collected at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), both online and in person. The research included the participation of three subjects linked to UFSCar: a disabled undergraduate student, a civil servant responsible for drafting, reviewing and disseminating the public notice and a disabled civil servant involved in the entrance exam boards. The data was processed based on its content and analyzed using the theoretical approach of Institutional Analysis. The results indicate aspects that facilitate and hinder in culture, administration, in the content of the information and in the communication structure of the admissions notice. They are scientifically relevant because they methodologically and theoretically systematize ways of analyzing and improving documents; academically relevant because they enable feedback on a cooperative approach to resolving institutional issues; and socially relevant because they materialize rights proving the population with more access, accessibility and accessibilization.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Futebóis em movimento: sexualidades, subjetividades e tensionamentos no circuito esportivo da Champions Ligay(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-03-06) Camargo, Wagner Xavier de; Toledo, Luiz Henrique de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5366260223109463; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5354-5923; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8062918408696939; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4110-647XThe research unfolded through ethnographies at Champions LiGay, an event that promotes a circuit of sports competitions based on society football played by gay, bisexual, and transgender males. Observations, interactions, and interviews were conducted with amateur players in the Champions LiGay over six years (2018 to 2023), aiming to construct a long-term ethnography. Over this period, the institutionalization of “gay football” and its transformation into “LGBT football” were observed, accompanied by many controversies in this process. As a guiding thread, this study identified tensions among subjects regarding the themes of amateurism vs professionalism, homosexuality vs heterosexuality, and inclusion vs exclusion. Through this realization, it was observed that the notion of “multiple futebóis” is related to an apparent “peaceful coexistence” of sexual and gender diversity in an ostensibly “alternative” football context. Therefore, the empirical analysis of current actions and representations of amateur players served as a starting point to reflect on gender dissonances in this established scenario. The concept of fractals was borrowed to propose a conceptual resizing of the category “multiple futebóis”. In the end, it is concluded that professionalism prevails as a guiding element in sports practices, heterosexuality operates as a “gay prosthesis”, and the proclaimed “inclusion” is merely tolerated coexistence among groups. The research also puts into perspective the idea of political purpose, questioning the future of these ‘futebóis’.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Desenvolvimento microestrutural, resistências mecânica e à corrosão de ligas Mg-Si e Mg-Si-Zn para aplicações biomédicas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-03-06) Gouveia, Guilherme Lisboa de; Koga, Guilherme Yuuki; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0933095081175012; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-0792-1139; Spinelli, José Eduardo; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8882038118634925; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-0611-1038; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9599497476281279The absorbable alloys, especially those based on Mg, have stood out in biomedical applications due to the possibility of eliminating the need for implant removal surgeries. In the scope of this PhD study, Mg-0.6%Si, Mg-1.3%Si, Mg-1.7%Si, Mg-0.6%Si-2%Zn, and Mg-0.6%Si-3%Zn alloys were examined using the directional solidification technique. This technique allowed for a wide range of cooling rates, enabling a comprehensive evaluation of microstructural characteristics and tensile mechanical properties. Additionally, the corrosion behavior of two microstructural conditions (𝜆2 of 11 and 41 μm) of the Mg-0.6%Si-2%Zn alloy in SBF (simulated body fluid) for 7 days was analyzed. In general terms, microstructures composed of Mg-rich dendrites and eutectic microconstituent (Mg+Mg2Si) were observed in Mg-0.6%Si, Mg-0.6%Si-2%Zn, and Mg-0.6%Si-3%Zn alloys. In ternary alloys, structures composed of the eutectic microconstituent Mg+MgZn were also identified for low cooling rates (below 0.48°C/s for the 2%Zn alloy and 0.44°C/s for the 3%Zn alloy). In the case of the Mg-1.3%Si alloy, predominantly a eutectic cellular microstructure (Mg+Mg2Si) was observed, while the Mg-1.7%Si alloy exhibited a typical structure of hypereutectic alloys in the Mg-Si system. The Mg-0.6%Si alloy showed a higher tensile strength limit compared to the Mg-1.7%Si alloy, due to the increase in the Mg2Si fraction with increasing Si, an effective phase in stress concentration. On the other hand, the Mg-1.3%Si alloy, composed of the eutectic microconstituent, revealed a clear dependence between tensile strength limit and cell spacing, being the worst among the three binary alloys. In the case of ternary alloys, the higher the Zn content, the higher the mechanical strength. Corrosion analysis allowed evaluating the electrochemical characteristics throughout the transient regime and the apparent stabilization during the immersion period. The results obtained in the analysis of the Mg-0.6%Si-2%Zn alloy indicate that the electrochemical response is little influenced by dendritic spacing.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Trajetória formativa de professores da eja que atuam com estudantes público da educação especial(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-03-06) Lira, Diego Oliveira; Campos, Juliane Aparecida de Paula Perez; Campos, Juliane Aparecida de Paula Perez ; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3169299095370522; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-0789-808X; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7571824908253014; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5313-3673Considering the challenges that guide teacher training, as well as the growing number of enrollments of Public Special Education (PEE) students in common Youth and Adult Education (EJA) classes, the present research had the general objective of analyzing the training trajectory of EJA teachers who work with PEE students, at the Elementary and High School levels. And the specific objectives were: b) identify how the process of continued training of EJA teachers occurs; c) identify the knowledge and demands of EJA teachers in relation to public Special Education students. Eight teachers participated in the study, five male and three female, with ages ranging between 28 and 58 years old. The participants taught at EJA in different schools located in a medium-sized municipality in the northwest region of Ceará and had at least one PAEE student in the classroom. The data collection procedure included individual interviews with a semi-structured protocol, at the teachers' workplace. The interviews were transcribed and validated by judges, with the data organized and analyzed in the form of categorical content analysis. In general terms, among EJA teachers, there was a predominance of initial training in Pedagogy, but with other different degrees, such as Zootechnics; few teachers had experience in participating in continuing or in-service training on the topic of Special Education; the mix of ideas and knowledge that the participating teachers have regarding EJA and Special Education is noticeable, whether through practice or through courses or in-service training; however, there are still deficits in relation to the training of EJA teachers and the need to pay attention to the demands and practices that include Special Education public people inserted in these contexts.
