listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Estudo do coeficiente de permeabilidade de mídia filtrante de celulose e sua variação com deposição de contaminantes(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-21) Ferreira, Gabriel Tavares; Campo Junior, Vivaldo Leiria; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7150892281897003This work addresses the correlation between automotive applications of cellulose papers used for air filtration in combustion engines and the permeability coefficient. The work presents experimental data from a specific cellulose media filtration application and correlates it with the physical laws governing flow. It also applies these laws to study the variation of the permeability coefficient of a filter media with the deposition of contaminants in its medium (dust deposited on the surface and inside the filter element). The study aims to find a correlation between the variation of the permeability coefficient of the cellulose media and the pressure variation in the engine’s air intake system, so that it becomes possible to predict the engine’s pressure drop and the filter element’s lifespan based on the average pore size and the average thickness of the media in question. In addition, it seeks to correlate the variation of the permeability of the paper as a function of the mass of dust deposited on the filter. The results presented support a relevant correlation and aim to justify further in-depth studies.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Planejamento Educacional: olhares sobre o monitoramento e avaliação do Plano Municipal de Educação de Conchal/SP.(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-21) Silva, Débora Aparecida Martinho da; Lima, Paulo Gomes; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5109357037661496; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9932-4934; Brasileira; https://wwws.cnpq.br/cvlattesweb/PKG_MENU.menu?f_cod=901BD82DBC0BC676F753FBAC82896C5B#; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2429-3480The objective of this research was to analyze the debates and conflicts, in light of the bodies responsible for monitoring and evaluating the PME (Municipal Education Plan) of the city of Conchal/SP, regarding its implementation. The research was limited to the city of Conchal, a municipality belonging to the Mogi Mirim Education Board. The methodology, of a qualitative nature, consisted of a bibliographic survey, in addition to semi-structured interviews involving five actors, whose members were part of the Organizing Committee, the Technical Team, the Municipal Education Forum, the Municipal Education Commission, and one of these members represented the teachers of the Municipal Education Network. The specific objectives of this research were: a) to list the historical trajectory of the construction of national documents that structure the country's educational planning; b) to identify, through a state-of-knowledge research, themes related to the monitoring and evaluation of PMEs, considering the municipality of Conchal/SP of the Mogi Mirim/SP Education Board; c) to explain the processes of participation in the elaboration, monitoring and evaluation, through the expressions and understandings of the members involved in these processes; d) to analyze, based on the respondents' feedback, through a semi-structured survey, the involvement and impact of PME on education in the city of Conchal/SP. We hope that this research will provoke reflections regarding the quality of education in the country and, especially, in the city of Conchal/SP, taking into account the history of Brazilian educational planning. To this end, we chose to point out, through the data collected, the importance of civil society participation in the preparation, monitoring and evaluation of the PME, in order to obtain knowledge of their rights, while exercising their citizenship, seeking to raise awareness of the contribution to quality education at the municipal, state and national levels. The results showed that the monitoring and evaluation of the Conchal PME had flaws in its process, making it difficult to accurately measure the data for publicizing to civil society as a whole. The flaws presented were due to changes in government during the PME's term and the lack of awareness regarding the meaning and importance of the requirement recommended in the PNE (National Education Plan). Civil participation did not occur in a democratic and participatory manner, causing gaps in the democratic act. Compliance with the planning corroborates similar historical facts in Brazilian education, which were constantly changing due to government directions, not valuing a state policy, due to the political and personal interests of the rulers, in each period.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Os principais desafios da educação de jovens e adultos no Brasil(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-21) Santos, Barbara Lazzarini dos; Souza, Ana Paula Gestoso de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2662760426985944This work analyzes the main challenges faced in the Education of Young Adults (EJA) in Brazil, highlighting the reconciliation between work and studies, the challenges of teaching, and the specificities of the students. Through a bibliographic survey, common difficulties encountered by EJA students were identified, who often need to balance professional responsibilities with their educational aspirations, in addition to having a history of social marginalization. The research also reveals the insufficient training of educators, who lack specific qualifications to address the peculiarities of this modality. Therefore, it is essential that higher education institutions include disciplines related to EJA in their curricula and that public policies are strengthened to ensure quality education, recognizing EJA as a priority. The study concludes that continuous dialogue among the various parties involved in education is imperative for the success of EJA and the gradual overcoming of its challenges.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Análise comparativa da viabilidade de garagens subsolo e sobresolo de edifícios residenciais com base no método CUB(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-21) Cornegian, Júlio Chicone; Almeida Filho, Fernando Menezes de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0447825383222965This study analyzes the costs and feasibility of three garage subsystems in residential buildings in São Carlos - SP: basement, ground floor and basement. The research uses the Basic Unit Cost (CUB) as a reference, evaluating the financial impacts of excavation, containment and reduction of useful area, as well as the regulatory and structural requirements of each alternative. The single-story garage demonstrated the best financial balance, eliminating high initial costs and providing faster payback. On the other hand, the underground garage offers better use of space and increases the value of the project. An underground garage can limit the construction area and impact the size of the building, altering its viability in certain urban contexts. The choice of the ideal subsystem depends on factors such as municipal regulations, urban restrictions and economic strategies of the project. Therefore, the decision between reduced initial cost, maximum use of the land or constructive flexibility must be evaluated depending on the specificities of each project.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Escrevivência nas abordagens biográfico-narrativas de pesquisa em Educação: diálogos teórico-metodológicos, ético-estéticos e epistemopolíticos em teses e dissertações (2020-2024)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-21) Fonseca, Leandro Limoni de Campos; Aygadoux, Bárbara Cristina Moreira Sicardi; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9746628149674449; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5097-459X; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0498033669242024; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1083-9585La Escrevivência, concepto formulado por Conceição Evaristo, designa una práctica de escritura que articula experiencia, memoria y resistencia, inscribiendo la subjetividad negra en la producción de conocimiento. Las consideraciones finales evidencian la potencia crítica, creativa y creadora de la producción insurgente de mujeres negras y reafirman la urgencia de su valorización y visibilidad en la academia.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Altas expectativas na relação professor-aluno: análise do livro “Pigmalião em sala de aula”(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-21) Ferrão, Bianca Gomes; Marigo, Adriana Fernandes Coimbra; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4014738511373573; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8784-3478; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5818016788062662This undergraduate thesis focuses on the impact of students' perceptions of teachers' expectations on their dreams and aspirations, addressing a topic that gained relevance in the studies of Rosenthal and Jacobson in the 1960s. The objective of this study was to analyze the contributions of the book Pygmalion in the Classroom: Teacher Expectation and Pupils’ Intellectual Development by Rosenthal and Jacobson (1968) for educators, seeking to establish the relationship between teacher expectations and student performance. This learning approach emphasizes that high expectations from schools, families, and the broader community that interacts and communicates with students are essential for fostering learning. The research followed a bibliographic approach and applied content analysis methodologies to the selected book. Through this analysis, three main categories were identified: (1) "Influence on Pedagogical Work," (2) "Effects on Students," and (3) "Implications for Teaching." The findings indicated a significant impact of teachers' expectations on students' academic performance and their perception of behavior in the school environment.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Meninos brincam de bola e meninas brincam de bola também: problematizando a dominação masculina no futebol nas aulas de Educação Física(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-21) Perassolli, Marina Arriaga; Souza Júnior, Osmar Moreira de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9176123942671062; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2915-5634; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5984935939308126; https://orcid.org/0009-0000-7393-3221This research takes as its starting point the male domination in the practice of soccer (football) inside and outside the school environment. With four decades of prohibition on women's participation in sports, and more specifically in soccer, the consequences of this impediment are still found, and the invisibility of women's participation promotes acts of prejudice and sexism during Physical Education classes. It is necessary, therefore, to work on soccer in schools beyond the reproduction of the spectacularized sport logic, understanding this sport as a cultural phenomenon that carries countless possibilities and knowledge. We seek, then, with this research to identify and analyze the educational processes emerging from the implementation of a didactic unit of soccer composed of 12 classes with a 5th-grade elementary school class during Physical Education classes. A qualitative research of the action-research type was carried out, in which the main data collection instrument was field notes and questionnaires that were analyzed through content analysis using the category coding method. The results and their analysis are divided into categories, the first of which is “Boys don't want to play with girls because they are worse,” which brings sexist situations that occurred throughout the application of the classes and their developments. The second is entitled “When I scored the goal, I saw that I can actually play soccer or do something else,” and brings evidence about the process of empowerment and confidence of the girls. The third, entitled “We don't know any female athletes, that's why we didn't talk,” discusses the educational processes that emerged from factors of the external logic of soccer. We consider that the application of the didactic unit provided students with several positive experiences and an increase in girls' confidence regarding their participation in sports activities and soccer, in addition to having provided students with various knowledge related to the external logic of soccer."listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Metodologias ativas no ensino de ângulos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-21) Hernandes Beluco, Jonas; Barbosa, Grazielle Feliciani; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5368292206467565; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5844911788023314In a generation of post-pandemic students immersed in Digital Information and Communication Technologies (TDIC), teachers, especially in mathematics, are challenged to ensure that meaningful learning occurs, associating Active Methodologies. This research was carried out with a focus on the knowledge of object of angles, for a seventh-grade class in the second stage of elementary education. At first, we analyzed the data generated by the São Paulo state test, where it was possible to identify a significant gap in the descriptor "Solve problem situations involving angle measurements." The, we conducted a diagnostic assessment to decide the next steps and interventions with the class. The questions were pre-selected and organized to assess the knowledge object of angles in different contexts. After the application, each question was corrected, and the results were tabulated. We considered it important to present the angles associated with ¼ turn, ½ turn, ¾ turn, and a full turn to the students, with activities for awareness, contextualized with sports, hands-on activities, clocks, vehicle directions, and the house of angles (GeoGebra material), not to mention the conceptual questions from digital material. Furthermore, we worked intensively on gamification using the Matific platform, and these activities will be described and highlighted in this work. After all the tasks proposed to the students, we designed a final assessment with some new questions and others already assessed, with the aim of comparing the initial data and analyzing the students’ learning progress.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, O pensamento computacional no ensino de matemática: contribuições para os anos finais do ensino básico(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-21) Segundo, Jose Pedro Romano; Seixas, Wladimir; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1697352974728327; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0843-3500; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7029502029599885; https://orcid.org/0009-0005-1816-3291Computational Thinking (CT) encompasses a set of essential skills for problem-solving across various fields of knowledge, combining logical and mathematical reasoning with strategies for organizing and structuring steps in an intelligent and systematic way. These competencies are fundamental not only for computing professionals but for anyone dealing with complex challenges. As such, strategies to integrate CT into basic education have been widely explored in recent years. Studies indicate that its application, especially in conjunction with subjects like Mathematics from the early school years, can significantly enhance students’ problem-solving abilities and promote the development of mathematical, systematic, and algorithmic thinking. The methodology of Computational Thinking is structured around four main pillars: decomposition, abstraction, pattern recognition, and algorithms. Applying these methodological elements to Mathematics aims not only to improve student performance but also to stimulate more efficient and creative problem-solving approaches. However, despite notable progress, there is still a lack of evidence directly linking CT concepts to the mathematical competencies defined by Brazil’s National Common Curricular Base (BNCC). This study aims to propose didactic strategies to address mathematical problems through a mapping between the Fundamental Mathematical Capabilities and the Core Concepts of Computational Thinking. To this end, a set of math problems was developed that integrates both domains, with the objective of disseminating and validating the proposed strategies. Preliminary investigations suggest that Computational Thinking can be seamlessly integrated into Math teaching, with many of its concepts—especially Data Analysis, Abstraction, Problem Decomposition, and Algorithms and Procedures—showing strong correlations with the fundamental competencies of Mathematics.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Impacto da articulação de saúde da pessoa idosa na atenção primária à saúde com foco na implementação da avaliação multidimensional: um ensaio comunitário(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-21) Porcatti, Luana Rafaela; Vassimon-Barroso, Verena; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7496298739077529; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8322-4023; Gramani-Say, Karina; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5096508613057074; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2451-8109; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4030810929025140; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5201-3709Population aging poses challenges to Primary Health Care (PHC), requiring organizational adaptations to ensure quality care for the elderly population. In this context, the Multidimensional Assessment of the Elderly (AMD) emerges as an essential tool for identifying demands and planning care. However, its implementation faces challenges. Objective: This study aims to verify whether, in Health Units with readiness for change, the presence of the elderly health coordinator influences the number of AMDs performed and recorded in the PHC electronic medical records. Methodology: Two studies were conducted: the first assessed commitment and effectiveness for readiness for change in PHC units in São Carlos-SP, using the ORIC-BR instrument. The second analyzed the impact of the coordinator's presence on the execution and recording of AMDs through a community trial comparing the Control Group (CG) and the Intervention Group (IG). Results: The results indicated that only 8 of the 28 units that agreed to participate in the study showed readiness for change. The analysis of ORIC-BR responses revealed significant variations between managers and professionals, suggesting a misalignment in their perception of the organizational capacity to implement changes. In the community trial, it was observed that the units with a health coordinator recorded a significant increase in the number of AMDs performed and registered in the Citizen’s Electronic Health Record (PEC). A statistically significant interaction was identified between the group and the assessment moment (p < 0.001), indicating that the IG showed a significant improvement in the post-intervention period compared to the pre-intervention period (p < 0.001), in addition to recording more AMDs than the CG in the post-intervention period (p < 0.001). Conclusion: The application of ORIC-BR proved to be a useful tool for diagnosing organizational readiness, assisting managers in identifying units more prepared for the implementation of new practices. Additionally, the presence of the elderly health coordinator proved to be a viable strategy to strengthen AMD in PHC, promoting greater integration among professionals and enhancing the effectiveness of assessments. It is concluded that the articulation between different levels of care and the training of teams are key determinants for the success of AMD and, consequently, for improving elderly care services.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, A potencialidade da relação entre família, escola e comunidade para promover a aprendizagem das crianças no ensino fundamental: indicações de artigos científicos brasileiros(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-21) Julião, Adnes Caroline; Marigo, Adriana Fernandes Coimbra; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4014738511373573; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8784-3478; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9798907794399918This final course paper focused on analyzing the impacts of the relationship between family, school, and community on the learning process of elementary school students. Based on the theoretical framework of Paulo Freire, which advocates for a more equitable and liberating education, and the concept of dialogical learning grounded in this educator’s ideas, the relevance of the study was justified by the growing concern for the quality of education and the multiple factors that influence children's learning. In this approach, the interaction between family and school is considered crucial for the holistic development of students. The main objective of this study was to investigate and discuss the potential of the relationship between family, school, and community in promoting elementary school students' learning, based on the analysis of Brazilian scientific articles. The research was bibliographic in nature, with a qualitative and exploratory approach. An organized set of procedures was used, including the development of the research project, the investigation of solutions, the explanatory analysis of solutions, and the integrative synthesis. Data were collected from articles published between 2014 and 2023, available in the SciELO Brasil database, focusing on the category of human sciences and the field of educational research. The main categories discussed in this study were the relationship between family and school, the role of the community in education, and the learning process of elementary school students. These aspects were addressed based on the results of the analysis of the selected materials, providing significant contributions to understanding how the integration of community and family is proposed in Brazilian education. The study proposed a reflection on how Brazilian research has been focusing on the relationship between school, family, and community as a means to improve the quality of education in Brazil.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Análise da capacidade viária e nível de serviço de uma rótula moderna entre Avenida Bruno Ruggiero Filho e Avenida Parque Faber na cidade de São Carlos (SP)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-21) Paulino, Maria Antonia Conti; Hirosue, Fernando Hideki; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4091598921285700; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4132767259791795With the growth of populations and urban networks, there is also an increase in the number of automobiles, making the flow of traffic troubled and the roads inadequate for the new flow. Thus, there must be studies to keep the intersections and roads at a reasonable level of service. In the present work, the traffic capacity of the roundabout located between Avenida Bruno Ruggiero Filho and Avenida Parque Faber, in the city of São Carlos - SP, is analyzed. The point is located next to a Travel Generator Pole, Shopping Iguatemi. Due to the high flow of vehicles that travel in this device, it was necessary to evaluate the flow capacity, with the purpose of defining the level of service of the same, and also to present possible mitigating measures, in order to reduce local problems. To define the service level of the device, in the current scenario, vehicle counting was carried out at peak hours, with an O/D matrix, using the methodology proposed by the National Department of Transport Infrastructure (DNIT) in the Intersection Design Manual, since it is a modern roundabout. An analysis of the service level in a future scenario was also carried out, calculated for 5 years, with a fleet projection based on real data from the last 4 years. For the case under study, in the current scenario, the service level had a result lower than acceptable in one branch in the morning peak, and in 2 in the afternoon peak. For the future scenario, in the morning peak 1 saturated branch and 3 in the afternoon. Thus, with results demonstrating that the roundabout is not in good use, suffering from congestion and may result in an increase in traffic accidents, it is necessary to deepen the question of measures capable of improving the fluidity of this device.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, De mulheres e de algumas relações familiares no Portugal do século XX: uma leitura de A boneca despida, de Paulo M. Morais, highlighting, above all, the women in this plot and how they act, according to each of the historical periods in which they are inserted. At the same time, we will also seek to verify how the socio-historical system has been changing, fully affecting each of the female trajectories (BARREIRA, 1992; FREIRE, 2010; POLICARPO, 2011). We will try to demonstrate that such analysis is possible, due to the construction of the protagonist, the character Julieta, who spans more than 100 years of the country's history, from the colonial period of Portugal to democratization.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, International Early Learning and Child Well-Being Study: uma análise crítica sobre avaliações em larga escala para a educação infantil(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-21) Galbiatti, Luísa Fagá; Magalhães, Giselle Modé; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2726281356078379; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4045-7040This study presents and analyzes the 2020 report of the International Early Learning and Child Well-Being Study (IELS), a test funded by the OECD to assess the early learning of children aged 5 to 6 in terms of cognitive and emotional skills. Through document analysis and a literature review, the impact of Large-Scale Assessments (LSAs) on Early Childhood Education is discussed and understood. Based on the study of neoliberal policies, which transform education into a commodity, the research concludes that this type of assessment prioritizes quantitative results over a holistic and contextualized education. Finally, the study proposes a reflection on alternatives to LSAs, inspired by more democratic and humanistic approaches, such as Paulo Freire's pedagogy, aiming for an education that values equity, diversity, and the comprehensive development of students.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Calma, respira, escuta o seu coração: condições de trabalho e a interação entre adulto e criança na educação infantil no setor privado(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-21) Camargo, Melissa Alves; Aceituno, Gabriela; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9787048458711616; https://orcid.org/0009-0003-4439-1074; Santos, Maria Walburga dos; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2954227254025696; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9304-5800; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6837688089148417; https://orcid.org/0009-0006-1473-2335This Final Graduation Paper aims to investigate the working conditions of early childhood in the private sector and how these conditions impact the relationship between adults and children. The research is qualitative and bibliographic in nature, based on the reading and analysis of articles, books, and documents related to the history of private early childhood education and the working conditions of early childhood educators in private schools in Brazil. In addition, exploratory qualitative research was conducted through an online questionnaire with educators from various private institutions, considering that it was not necessary for these educators to still be working in the field of private early childhood education. The educators' accounts reveal that, despite significant advances in early childhood education, much still needs to be improved. Issues such as salary, workload, lack of resources and infrastructure, disorganized management, and neglect in relation to families, among others, directly impact the educators' relationship with the children. The history and reports suggest that private early childhood education requires improvements in working conditions, such as salary increases, reduced working hours, professional appreciation, and more humanized and organized management.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Secagem convectiva de finos de minério de ferro: aplicação de um ciclone separador como equipamento de secagem(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-21) Genaro, Luana Boger; Béttega, Rodrigo; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1379682125857376; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5647-5385; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3049425547851128; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7288-3787Iron ore is the primary raw material for steel production. In Brazil, once extracted from the mines, the ore is transported by rail to ports, where it is loaded onto ships for export. Throughout these stages, the high moisture content of the material can cause operational challenges, such as pipeline blockages, conveyor belt misalignment, and difficulties in the pelletizing process. Moreover, if the ore’s moisture content exceeds the Transportable Moisture Limit (TML), the cargo may be rejected, preventing its shipment. Currently, iron ore drying technologies are being researched, focusing on the implementation of convective dryers for this purpose. However, due to the injection of hot air at high flow rates and the particle size distribution of the ore, the top stream of these devices may carry away particulate material with residual moisture. In this context, the objective of this study is to evaluate the potential of using a cyclone separator as a dryer for mining products through bench-scale testing and computational simulation. To theoretically estimate the feeding conditions of an industrial cyclone, mathematical modeling and simulation of the iron ore drying process in the pneumatic conveyor connecting the convective dryer to a cyclone battery, were performed. In the bench-scale cyclone drying experiments, the influences of air velocity and temperature, feed moisture content, and solid feed rate on the moisture content of the ore collected at the cyclone underflow were evaluated. Additionally, using the Eulerian Granular model, a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation of the continuous drying process in the cyclone was conducted. To determine mass transfer coefficients, fixed-bed drying experiments and thin-layer mathematical modeling were performed. In the fixed-bed and thin-layer drying experiments, the diffusive models showed good agreement for temperatures of 60, 70, and 80 °C. The effective mass diffusivity values obtained ranged between 1.75·10-9 m²·s-1 and 8.25·10-9 m²·s-1 for the convective diffusive model. In the thick-layer fixed-bed drying experiments, moisture and temperature gradients were observed at different axial positions of the bed. The theoretical estimates from the pneumatic conveyor drying simulation indicated that particles with diameters greater than 50 µm, which are carried by the air, tend to retain residual moisture when reaching the cyclone battery. In the cyclone drying experiments, the smallest reduction in the moisture content of the ore collected at the underflow was 70 %, achieved at a drying temperature of 80 °C, a solid feed moisture content of 0.10 kgwater·kgwet solid−1, and a solid feed rate of 18.3 gwet solid ·s−1. For the other drying conditions, the moisture content of the ore collected at the underflow was close to zero. These results highlight the high potential of using a cyclone separator as an iron ore dryer. The CFD simulation results aligned with the physical and experimental expectations for the iron ore drying process in the cyclone.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Modelagem matemática: uma experiência na escola(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-21) Souza, Aparecido Cavalcante de; Salvador, José Antonio; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2487171069472158; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4613526662103171The object of this study was the use of mathematical modeling for the teaching and learning of first-degree equations in basic education. Recently, physiotherapists have been part of the childbirth care team, but there are no studies investigating the childbirth experience of women who have had physiotherapy support. Objectives: To verify whether physiotherapist assistance during the childbirth process is related to the childbirth experience. Methods: This is a cross-sectional observational study. This research was approved by the Human Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of São Carlos. Participants were recruited in a digital environment through social networks, and data collection was performed by filling out an electronic form by women from all over the country. The study population consisted of Brazilian postpartum women who had a vaginal birth in a hospital setting less than 12 months ago. To characterize the study population, a data collection form was used, and to assess the experience with the current birth, the Childbirth Experience Questionnaire (CEQ) composed of 22 items was used. Analyses were performed using simple descriptive statistics, such as calculations of mean, standard deviation, and percentage to characterize the sample. The model for logistic regression analysis was constructed from the causal diagram, and theanalysis was used to verify the proposed associations. Results: A total of 321 women participated in the study, with a mean age of 32.0 (5.08) years. Physiotherapist assistance during labor was associated with a higher score on the CEQ-Br (complete case analysis, adjusted β = 0.144, 95% CI [0.028–0.261]; multiple imputation analysis, adjusted β = 0.147, 95% CI [0.03–0.264]). Conclusion: Regarding the relationship between the physical therapist and the birth experience, physical therapist assistance during labor appears to be associated with a positive birth experience. Although these findings are promising, they are preliminary.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Impactos da pandemia de COVID-19: uma pesquisa-cuidado com mulheres mães trabalhadoras(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-21) Amador, Tatiana Doval; Silva, Carla Regina; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6417501858864106; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1590876305209142; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9618-614XAlthough many studies consider the COVID-19 pandemic to be the greatest health crisis of modern times, revealing a wide range of serious social, political and economic problems and questioning ways of living, the protection of life and the persistence of social asymmetries, it is still necessary to discuss ways to address inequalities and gender-based violations experienced by working mothers in this context. This study addresses the lived experiences, knowledge, subjectivation processes and cultural dimensions, as well as the broader historical and political dimensions that permeate the trajectories of working mothers, with the aim of understanding the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on their lives and the coping, resistance and survival strategies they developed in this scenario. Based on intersectional black feminist perspectives, the study, which adopts an exploratory and qualitative methodological approach, employed interventional narrative research, involving the participation of working mothers from a poor peripheral community in the city of Santana de Parnaíba, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. The data were produced using multiple strategies, namely: 1. procedures for identifying participant profiles and collecting data through an electronic form, individual interviews, occupational therapy groups and a subsequent data analysis; 2. care strategies with the research team, including the selection and monitoring of research assistants, in addition to their training and guidance throughout the process; and 3. narrative and creative production through field diaries, innovatice care practices, and the development of artistic creations. The results were organized into four thematic axes: 1. gender inequality at work during the COVID-19 pandemic; 2. motherhood and the burden of love in women's daily lives; 3. violence experienced and faced by women; 4. reinvention of daily life during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to enabling a critical analysis of these issues, the research process provided a space for care, allowing women to engage in new experiences and invent new forms of care in their lives, countering the structural violence they have been experiencing. This research contributed to the strengthening of Occupational Therapy as a political and social practice, promoting a new awareness based on respect, equity, dialogue, friendship and recognition of the rights and diversity of bodies and ways of living.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Passado e presente na construção da personagem Mwadia Malunga de O outro pé da sereia, de Mia Couto(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-21) Deramio, Brígida Priscila Neves; Laks, Daniel Marinho; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9531610287211600; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3941571018579684This master's thesis aims to analyze the process of constructing memory and remembering the characters in O outro pé da sereia (2006), with the main focus being the protagonist, Mwadia Malunga. To this end, it must be taken into account that the effects of meaning found in the narrative are obtained through combinations and the exploration of the meanings of words and the author's peculiar style, resulting in unique writing. The arrangement of the novel's chapters presents a logical construction of the characters and a correlation between different times. In the Coutian narrative it is clear that the notion of time goes beyond the chronological, it extends to something immaterial, a factor that directs us to the issue of identity, including that which refers to the concept of death. Therefore, this study will demonstrate that memory structures the relationships diagnosed in the aforementioned work and in the perspectives to be worked on within Portuguese-speaking African literature. The research will be developed through reading and analysis of the novel and theoretical works that evaluate it, such as Aleida Assmann, Maurice Halbwachs, Paul Ricoeur and Márcio Seligmann-Silva, mainly.
