Cancer-associated venous thromboembolism (CAVTE) is a common complication in oncology patients and is associated with a high risk of morbidity and mortality. Several anticoagulants are used for its treatment; however, the lack of direct comparisons among all available therapeutic options makes the optimal clinical choice challenging. In this context, this study conducted a network meta-analysis using a Bayesian hierarchical approach to compare the efficacy and safety of the anticoagulants Dalteparin, Apixaban, Rivaroxaban, and Edoxaban, integrating both direct and indirect evidence from six randomized clinical trials. The modeling was carried out using a random-effects binomial framework and Monte Carlo Markov Chain (MCMC) algorithms implemented in the R software. The results indicate that Apixaban performs best in terms of efficacy, while Dalteparin shows a superior safety profile, especially concerning non-major clinically relevant bleeding events. The findings reinforce the value of network meta-analysis as a decision-support tool in clinical contexts involving multiple therapeutic alternatives.

Considering the challenges in the schooling of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) reported in the Brazilian scientific literature, the present study aimed to investigate the effects of teacher training procedures for educators working in inclusive regular education settings, across two separate studies. Study 1 aimed to design, implement, and evaluate the effects of an online, lecture-based training program for participants regarding basic theoretical knowledge of Behavior Analysis, specifically related to the management of challenging behaviors in students with ASD. An A-B-A experimental design was employed. The dependent variable was the participants' performance on theoretical questions about managing challenging behavior, while the independent variable was the training delivered by the researcher. Five teachers from a municipal school district in the interior of São Paulo state participated in this study. The data collection procedure comprised four stages conducted online and synchronously. The results indicated that the training increased participants’ theoretical repertoire and stimulated reflection on their educational practices, leading them to consider evidence-based practices grounded in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Study 2 aimed to evaluate the effects of a collaborative consultation on the development of documents related to the schooling of students with ASD, focusing on ABA-based practices within the regular school context. The specific objectives were: (a) to identify challenges in implementing the collaborative consultation for intervention planning through the development of the following documents: Assessment Report, Individualized Education Plan (IEP), and Challenging Behavior Management Plan in the School Context; and (b) to assess participants’ perceptions regarding the importance and feasibility of implementing these documents in their school settings. This was a collaborative research study, involving three teachers. The dependent variable was the behavior of one participant in the development of the Assessment Report, IEP, and Challenging Behavior Management Plan for their students, and the independent variable was the collaborative consultation with the researcher. The data collection procedure included nine stages, and the consultation sessions were conducted online and synchronously. The results showed that the participant demonstrated an increased repertoire of target behaviors related to the development of each document. Additionally, social validity was established through the other participants’ positive evaluations of the importance and feasibility of implementing the documents in school settings. Therefore, it can be concluded that both studies—teacher training on theoretical foundations and collaborative consultation for teachers of students with ASD in regular education—can be effective services for fostering reflection and improving pedagogical practices. However, further research is needed to develop and validate procedures and outcomes, improve working conditions for teachers, and promote legislation that encompasses evidence-based practice in education.

Introduction: Post-COVID-19 syndrome, characterized by the persistence of symptoms and functional impairments after the acute phase of SARS-CoV-2 infection, represents a clinical and public health challenge. The Post-COVID-19 Functional Status (PCFS) Scale has emerged as a tool to assess post-COVID-19 functional limitations, but no Portuguese version was available for use in Brazil. Objective: This thesis aimed to translate, culturally adapt, and validate the PCFS Scale for use in Brazil, as well as to explore its clinical applicability in the post-COVID-19 population. Methods: The research was conducted in two phases: (I) translation and cross-cultural adaptation of the PCFS Scale, following international guidelines, and assessment of its measurement properties (construct validity, internal consistency, intra- and inter-rater reliability), using the WHO Disability Assessment Schedule 2.0 (WHODAS 2.0) as a reference; (II) application of the Brazilian version of the PCFS in an online cross-sectional study involving participants with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19. Results: The Brazilian version of the PCFS demonstrated excellent internal consistency (α = 0.85), reliability (ICC > 0.8), and strong correlation with WHODAS 2.0 (r = 0.73–0.84). Its clinical application revealed that 40% of the sample exhibited functional impairment, along with a longer duration of symptoms, a greater number of symptoms, and a higher proportion of persistent symptoms. Conclusion: The Brazilian version of the PCFS Scale is valid and reliable for clinical and scientific use, representing a relevant tool for assessing and guiding rehabilitation programs in the post-COVID-19 population in Brazil. This thesis provides support for clinical practice, future research, and public health policies.

Complex network science has emerged as a powerful tool for studying the structural and functional organization of the brain under normal conditions and in pathological contexts. In recent years, network-based approaches have been widely used to understand how mental and neurodevelopmental disorders influence brain organization and alter its functionality. The integration of graph theory, functional neuroimaging techniques, and computational methods enables the reconstruction of brain networks and contributes to understanding the impacts of various disorders at the individual level. Moreover, advances in automated diagnosis using machine learning have shown promising results in predicting and characterizing a range of disorders based on the analysis of functional connectivity obtained from time series of brain activity. This project aims to classify different mental disorders through the reconstruction of complex networks from time series extracted from neuroimaging data. The goal is to assess which connectivity metric is most suitable for reconstructing the brain network topology associated with each mental disorder, as well as the one that achieves the best classification performance. Machine learning models were used to analyze functional connectivity matrices in order to characterize the brain topology associated with each condition and to identify disorder-specific connectivity patterns. For major depressive disorder (MDD), Spearman correlation was the most suitable metric for reconstructing brain networks. The results suggest that alterations in connectivity are related to deficits in attention, memory, and decision-making. For autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), transfer entropy was used to build the connectivity matrix, revealing altered patterns in brain regions associated with attention and impulse control in ADHD, and impairments in social and cognitive areas in ASD. Connectivity patterns were also analyzed to understand the progression of Parkinson’s disease (PD). In its early stages, the patterns resembled those of healthy individuals, while in later stages, a reduction in synchronization between brain regions and disease progression was observed. Therefore, the findings of this study contribute to more accurate diagnoses and to the development of personalized intervention strategies, promoting advances in the understanding and treatment of these conditions.

Transa (1972): a canção de exílio de Caetano Veloso
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-05-30) Colombari, Rodolfo José; Salgado, Luciana Salazar; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5206927424265495; Brasileiro; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7535565756243595
This study aims to analyze Caetano Veloso's album Transa (1972), composed and produced at the time of his exile in London due to the military dictatorship established in Brazil since 1964, aggravated after the AI-5, in order to perceive it as a song from exile. Based on Bernd's study (1992), we understand Transa as a desacralizing work in the construction of a national identity, since it is composed of an anthropophagic mixture (Andrade, 1928) of elements that refer to the popular, the historically excluded classes and Afro-Brazilian ancestral culture, while incorporating Gregório de Matos, Dorival Caymmi and João Gilberto with elements of mass culture such as the Beatles' rock'n roll and the English language. Orality, the means by which popular culture has been transmitted through time, finds a way to materialize on the record and in the composition of songs, forming a double body of the medium (Debray, 2000) made up of the institutional dimension (materialized organization) and its material dimension (organized matter), in other words, the object responsible for the transmission and crystallization of certain ideas that refer to the popular and oral culture of the excluded classes, such as blacks, mestizos and indigenous people, and which are mobilized and organized by Caetano Veloso in order to sing about his country as an exile.

Family farming is extremely relevant and strategic for Brazil, playing a fundamental role in food production and local development. In recent years, initiatives aimed at expanding its autonomy and presence in markets have been strengthened through the creation of alternative forms of commercialization. Increasingly, farmers are developing alternative approaches to market food, while at the same time organizations are emerging that seek new forms of consumption and prioritize solidarity-based relationships. The commercialization of food using principles of solidarity economy arises as an alternative to conventional markets, seeking a more equitable and fair socioeconomic relationship among farmers, intermediaries, and consumers. This research aimed to understand how solidarity economy has been studied in different agricultural contexts through bibliometric analysis and, through a case study, to present the incubation process and the operation of a market that applies solidarity economy principles in food commercialization and organizational structure, which may serve as a model and alternative in different localities.
