The caipira is a fundamental part of Brazil's historical formation, yet their identity is rarely addressed in educational institutions beyond the representations present in June festivals. This assumption is reinforced by the fact that definitions of the caipira are still associated with a context of prejudice and exclusion. Thus, this research aimed to investigate the representations and manifestations of caipira culture in schools through the analysis of normative documents and school June festivals. The theoretical foundation traced the historical and social trajectory of the Paulista nuclei in colonial Brazil, based on authors such as Ribeiro (1995) and Brandão (1983), combined with the description of cultural practices through Cândido (2010), Ferreira and Matos (2018), and Guerra (2022), the latter focusing on the contemporary caipira. The methodology consisted of qualitative, documentary, and exploratory research (Severino, 1979), applied to the analysis of the BNCC (National Common Curricular Base), the Paulista Curriculum, and the São Paulo state's Student Book. As a result, it was observed that caipira culture is treated as a cross-cutting theme in the BNCC, while the Paulista Curriculum advances by presenting more direct terms that encompass the diversity of cultural manifestations in the state, yet still without explicit mention of the caipira Simultaneously, the Student Book shows a significant gap in including caipira culture as a constituent identity of the state of São Paulo, reducing its presence to a strictly economic dimension. Faced with curricular gaps related to the caipira identity, the June festivals were analyzed as a possible compensation for this absence. Through the thesis of Campos (2007), associated with the concept of cultural industry (Adorno, 2009) and the spectacularization of popular culture (Carvalho, 2010), it was found that the festivals perpetuate a stigmatized view of the caipira. It is concluded that the current approach maintains the invisibility of caipira culture, making its valuation dependent, above all, on teacher initiative.

This work investigates the perceptions of high school students and teachers regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence in science education, seeking to understand how these technologies influence pedagogical practices, learning processes, and socio-technical relationships in the school context. The research starts from the recognition that AI has become part of students' daily lives, while simultaneously raising ethical, pedagogical, and social concerns that demand critical reflection from the perspective of Science, Technology, and Society (STS) education. The central objective was to analyze how different educational actors interpret and give meaning to the presence of AI in the school environment, identifying potential benefits, tensions, and limitations for its responsible integration into the curriculum. The investigation is characterized as a mixed-methods study, articulating quantitative and qualitative procedures. Structured questionnaires were applied to students and teachers, containing perception scales, closed questions, and open-ended questions, in addition to semi-structured interviews with teachers to delve into subjective and contextual dimensions of the phenomenon studied. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, content analysis, and interpretive triangulation, allowing for an understanding of the convergences and divergences between the groups. The main results indicate that students demonstrate familiarity and enthusiasm regarding the use of AI, recognizing its potential to facilitate learning, but also revealing ethical concerns, insecurity, and fear of technological dependence. Teachers, on the other hand, showed more cautious perceptions, emphasizing structural limitations, lack of continuing education, and the risks of inappropriate use of AI tools in the school context. The combined analysis shows that the educational use of AI requires critical pedagogical mediation, consistent institutional policies, and training processes that consider the ethical, social, and epistemological dimensions of scientific and technological knowledge. It is concluded that a responsible integration of AI into science education is only possible when articulated with an ECTS (Education, Technology, and Innovation) framework that recognizes technology as a complex sociocultural phenomenon.

Microservices architecture has gained widespread adoption due to its scalability and flexibility, but it also poses significant challenges for monitoring and fault detection. Manual analysis and simple statistical methods often result in false positives or negatives, hindering the accurate identification of anomalies. This work proposes a comprehensive methodology for anomaly detection in microservices environments through time series metric processing and the application of deep learning. As there was no access to real data, a plausible synthetic database was developed containing HTTP latency, Kafka lag, and CPU usage metrics, reproducing real problems such as different collection frequencies, temporal gaps, outliers, and decentralized distribution of metrics. Next, a preprocessing pipeline was developed involving temporal standardization, format transformation, missing data imputation, and information enrichment, among others. Simulated anomalies—representing common crashes in production—were then inserted into the dataset. Finally, an initial model based on 1D CNN was trained and evaluated for the task of binary classification between normal and anomalous behavior. The results obtained showed good precision, recall, and F1-score values, indicating the potential of the approach, although limited by the use of artificial data. The study demonstrates the feasibility of applying deep learning techniques for anomaly detection in distributed systems and lays the groundwork for future work with real data and more refined models

This paper analyzes the most recent literacy policies: the National Literacy Policy (PNA), established in 2019, and the National Commitment to Literate Children, from 2023, outlining the convergences and divergences between them. The objective of the research is to compare and discuss the concepts of literacy, reading, and writing present in the two legal frameworks. As the methodology consisted of a documentary analysis based on official decrees was carried out based on the official decrees, also supported by bibliographic research. Having Soares (2024) and Mortatti (2006; 2008) as the main references, the analysis was structured into five categories: general principles of the documents, target audience, initial and continuing teacher training, forms of implementation and monitoring, and application of assessments. The results indicate a conceptual and political rupture. The PNA aligns itself with a reductionist perspective, based on the “cognitive science of reading,” treating literacy as the acquisition of coding and decoding skills, while ignoring the concept of ‘literacy’. In contrast, the Commitment represents a return to literacy and the complexity of this process, defining it as a “discursive process” that recognizes “multiple literacies.” It can be concluded that the PNA represented a technical and political setback, while the Commitment revives the paradigm of literacy in its social dimension.

This study examined the communication structure, processes, and relationships within the Itupararanga Environmental Protection Area (APA) with the objective of producing a communication diagnosis to support the development of an integrated strategic communication plan for this Conservation Unit. In the first phase, the APA’s communication structure, processes, and relationships were analyzed through documentary and content analysis based on Bardin’s methodology. During this stage, documents such as legislation, internal regulations, and the management plan were reviewed to identify communication guidelines relevant to the APA. For the content analysis, interviews were conducted with representatives of the Conservation Unit’s Advisory Council, following the model established by Kunsch. This approach made it possible to understand how the communication guidelines were operationalized in practice. The interviews also enabled an examination of the level of interaction among the Council’s various stakeholder groups, drawing on Dreyer’s methodology, an essential step in constructing the communication diagnosis. The analysis revealed that, overall, the communication guidelines established in official documents are not implemented, primarily due to insufficient resources, limited organizational structure, and a lack of personnel. Conversely, it identified a subset of entities within the Advisory Council that already engage, to some degree, in communication or educommunication activities and could potentially contribute additional resources to strengthen communication regarding the APA. Based on the diagnosis, a Strategic Communication Plan for the Dissemination of Socio-environmental Agendas related to the Itupararanga APA was developed, following public relations communication methodologies proposed by Kunsch and Dreyer. The core strategy of the plan is to leverage the communication resources, structures, and capabilities of the entities represented on the Advisory Council to establish an integrated communication system coordinated by an organizational communication office dedicated to the APA. Using the interaction levels defined by Dreyer’s model, the plan was structured for phased implementation: the first phase focuses on information and communication, while the second seeks to encourage participation and engagement through educommunication initiatives. Finally, mechanisms for evaluating, monitoring, and controlling the plan were developed based on communication metrics proposed by Guissoni and Neves, ensuring the effectiveness of its implementation.

With technological advancements and the consequent reduction in costs, access to cameras and equipment for night sky observation has become easier, contributing to the popularization of astrophotography, a practice that consists of photographing astronomical objects through long-exposure imaging. Under these conditions, the apparent motion of celestial bodies, especially stars, becomes more evident in the images, forming trails known as star trails, caused by Earth’s rotation relative to the equipment. To compensate for this effect and allow for longer exposures, star trackers are used. However, their high cost limits access for beginners and enthusiasts. This work proposes the development of a low-cost, open-source star tracker, offering an accessible alternative for long-exposure astrophotography. The device operates through the motorization of an equatorial mount, with most of its parts produced using FFF 3D printing and low-cost components. Tests were conducted with the equipment to determine the maximum exposure time achievable through proper alignment with Earth’s rotational axis. The results indicate that it is possible to reach exposures of up to five minutes, a value more than 180 times greater than that obtained without motion compensation, in addition to reducing by nearly 93% the total storage volume required for the images, due to the smaller number of photos needed to achieve the same total exposure time, thus validating the effectiveness of the proposed solution.

Anthropogenic activities can negatively affect ecosystems such as riparian environments, leading to biodiversity loss and consequently impairing the functioning of ecosystem processes and services. In this context, ecological restoration is essential to recover both biodiversity and ecosystem functioning. The use of bioindicators is an important tool for monitoring the progress of forest regeneration, and ant communities, in particular, stand out due to their high sensitivity to environmental changes. In this study, we evaluated whether soil ant communities, ten years after the restoration of a degraded riparian area (restored site), had recovered in comparison with adjacent forest remnants (forest) and pasture areas. Ants were sampled using pitfall traps in six plots per vegetation type, and individuals were identified to the morphospecies level. Our results indicate that the restored site and the forest remnant harbored ant communities with similar diversity values, both being more diverse than the pasture, which exhibited higher species dominance. In addition, species composition was also similar between the restored site and the forest, whereas the pasture showed a distinct composition, possibly due to lower species richness and higher dominance. Therefore, riparian forest restoration allows the recovery of ant diversity after ten years, potentially contributing to the reestablishment of ecosystem processes mediated by this important group of soil fauna.

Statistical calibration methods effects to accuracy and uncertainty representation of sub-seasonal to seasonal ensemble forecasts
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-12-11) Scardellato e Silva, Eduardo; Aguiar, Fernando; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2081741860624898; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3733594155553181
This work investigates the impact of a statistical calibration method on the accuracy and uncertainty representation of ensemble forecasts at the sub-seasonal to seasonal (S2S) scale. The study is motivated by the importance of these forecasts for sectors such as energy, agriculture, and risk management, as well as by the known limitations of raw models, which often exhibit systematic biases and inadequate spread. Based on a literature review of advanced statistical post-processing techniques, with emphasis on approaches such as Bayesian Model Averaging (BMA), Non-homogeneous Gaussian Regression (NGR), and homogeneous bias-correction methods, this study focuses on evaluating the Mean-Variance Adjustment (MVA) method, already used at seasonal scales, examining whether its simplicity and low computational cost are sufficient to improve S2S forecasts in comparison with raw forecasts from the ECMWF extended-range model and with a reference climatology. The main objective is to quantify how the application of MVA affects the accuracy and calibration of wind-speed forecasts at 100 m height. To this end, ERA5 reanalysis data are used as ground truth, together with operational forecasts and hindcasts from ECMWF for Northern Hemisphere winter over Europe, processed in Python with the Xarray library and evaluated using deterministic metrics (bias, root mean square error – RMSE) and probabilistic metrics (spread, spread–skill ratio – SSR, rank histograms, Continuous Ranked Probability Score – CRPS, and Continuous Ranked Probability Skill Score – CRPSS). The results show that MVA significantly reduces the bias of raw forecasts and improves CRPS and CRPSS relative to both the raw model and the climatology in the first forecast days, especially in the first and second weeks, although the method leads to some underdispersion of the ensemble and to limited gains in terms of SSR, indicating that uncertainty is still not represented in an ideal way. It is concluded that MVA is a simple and efficient solution as a first level of calibration for S2S wind forecasts, improving the statistical compatibility between forecasts and observations at short to intermediate lead times, but that, for longer horizons or for a more realistic representation of uncertainty, it is advisable to investigate more sophisticated and possibly multivariate calibration techniques in future work.

This monograph presents an in-depth study of the Lorenz system, integrating theoretical foundations, qualitative analysis, stability analysis, and a numerical investigation of chaotic behavior. Initially, the essential concepts of dynamical systems—equilibrium points, linearization, bifurcations, and Lyapunov’s Second Method—are reviewed, providing the basis for understanding higher-dimensional nonlinear systems. Next, a detailed analysis of the Lorenz System is developed, including its physical properties related to thermal convection, the Rayleigh and Prandtl parameters, the system’s symmetries, and volume contraction. The stability of the equilibrium points is examined, with particular emphasis on the Hopf bifurcation that precedes the chaotic regime. Through numerical simulations using a high-order Runge–Kutta method, the strange attractor is visualized, highlighting sensitivity to initial conditions and the fractal structure of trajectories. The work thus consolidates the understanding of the transition from regular behavior to deterministic chaos, characterizing the Lorenz System as a landmark in modern dynamical systems theory.

This work demonstrates the restructuring of Spring Espresso, a web software created with the intention of assisting the application of the xPloiT framework in exploratory testing sessions in the context of games. Starting from a prototype developed by students of the Web Software Development 1 course at the Federal University of São Carlos, this application was created with the intention of serving as a support tool for xPloiT - a framework for conducting exploratory testing in games. The main evolution in relation to the initial prototype occurred in the restructuring of the class model, which was reorganized in order to offer a more consistent and aligned representation in relation to the framework. This restructuring enabled the integration of entities in a coherent way, resulting in a solid base to support future functionalities, although it is not free from limitations. The refactoring process revealed significant challenges, such as cascading impacts when modifying the previously established class relationship and structure, making it necessary to restart development to ensure robustness. It is concluded that this new version is better structured to support the application of the xPloiT methodology.

Ecosystem dynamics are profoundly affected by environmental degradation, making the restoration of impacted areas essential for the recovery of biodiversity and ecological processes. Because taxonomic diversity does not always fully capture organismal responses or the reestablishment of ecosystem functions, incorporating functional diversity into the monitoring of restoration projects has become increasingly important. Ants stand out as key recolonizing components of the soil macrofauna and are widely used as bioindicators due to their high taxonomic and functional diversity. In this study, we assessed the functional composition of ant communities in an area restored ten years ago, in comparison with a riparian forest remnant and an adjacent pasture area. Sampling was conducted during the dry and rainy seasons to capture potential seasonal variations associated with changes in resource availability throughout the year. Macroinvertebrates were collected using pitfall traps installed in six plots per land-use type, and ants were identified to the morphospecies level and classified into functional groups. Our results indicate that, although functional group richness remained stable and the pasture exhibited higher total ant abundance in both seasons, this land-use type also showed greater dominance and lower diversity compared to the restored area and the forest remnant. Functional diversity varied seasonally and among land-use types, being higher in the forest remnant and in the restored area, particularly during the rainy season. Functional composition differed among the three land-use types, with no significant influence of seasonality. Overall, the restored area can be characterized as a transitional system in which successional processes are still ongoing. This condition promotes increased heterogeneity and the emergence of distinct functional assemblages that diverge from the reference state while maintaining its functional structure.

Reading mediation can be considered a key process for the development of literacy in deaf children. Several authors discuss strategies that favor this mediation, placing the deaf individual as the protagonist of their teaching-learning process. Therefore, this work seeks to identify and analyze possible strategies for reading mediation of literary texts. To this end, a bibliographic research was carried out that addressed this theme, analyzing articles that present these strategies as a fundamental part of the literacy process of deaf children, considering that literary reading incorporates meanings and values social aspects involving the deaf individual based on their own experiences, developing their communication autonomy using two languages – Libras (Brazilian Sign Language) and Portuguese. Based on the analyzed bibliography, we also considered aspects such as teacher training and methodological resources that favor this mediation, reflecting on how these aspects contribute to the integral development of deaf children. The research indicates that the results and contributions of bilingual mediation practices, the use of visual resources, and the presence of mediators proficient in Libras (Brazilian Sign Language) significantly broaden children's understanding and interest in reading. Furthermore, the research reinforces the importance of literary mediation as an inclusive and formative tool, capable of promoting the linguistic, cultural, and emotional development of deaf students.

The research is justified by the importance of the textbooks as a teaching resource, for its relation to curriculum implementation and by the need to understand how teachers’ choices influence their literacy practice. To support the study, document analysis and semi-structured interviews were carried out with literacy teachers from the Municipal Schools of Sorocaba. The goal is to identify how these materials are used, what contributions they offer and their limits, based on teachers’ perspectives and researchers in the literacy field, like Magda Soares and Emilia Ferreiro. The expected results intend to highlight the teacher’s role as a mediator between the textbooks and the literacy process, reflecting on the teaching practices and valuing teachers’ experiences in schools.

This work presents a study on the sizing and improvement of the fan hub frame of a ducted dual-flow aircraft engine. The study is inserted in the context of the development of more efficient and environmentally responsible engines, in response to the increasing demands for fuel consumption reduction and associated aviation emissions. The project was developed in collaboration with Safran Aircraft Engines and aimed to analyze and improve the geometry of a structural component of the FAN module, seeking to enhance its mechanical behavior without compromising structural integrity. The adopted methodology was based on finite element modeling, through which static structural analyses were performed, including the extreme load case Fan Blade Out (FBO), as well as global stiffness and flexibility analyses of the component. The main geometric parameters and their influence on stresses, displacements, and structural mass were evaluated. The results demonstrated that the proposed improvement was successful, allowing the identification of a configuration that achieves a satisfactory balance between stiffness, flexibility, and mass, meeting the structural requirements of the FAN module.

This case study aims to analyze the method used by an agricultural machinery company to estimate the sales potential of replacement parts, identifying its critical points and recommending improvements to enhance sales planning in the after-sales area. The research includes a literature review on demand forecasting and potential estimation models, followed by the analysis and practical application of the method adopted by the company according to the literature, using regressions calculated in Python, whose results were examined within Microsoft’s Business Intelligence environment, Power BI. The findings of this study indicate that, although the method employed by the company is consistent with the theoretical behavior of progressive machinery wear and the consequent increase in replacement part expenses, significant variations were identified that prevent its direct application in the Brazilian agricultural after-sales context. These observations highlight the need for methodological refinements to reflect the real dynamics of customer fleets, especially in high-intensity usage scenarios such as sugarcane cultivation. Based on these results, the study proposes several improvements, including parameter adjustments, data integration through CRM, and the gradual adoption of predictive techniques aligned with Agriculture 4.0. Therefore, it is concluded that the analyzed method serves as an adequate initial reference, but its evolution is essential to strengthen estimation accuracy and support strategic decision-making in after-sales planning for Brazilian companies.
