Abstract
This work makes a comparison between the existing methods for the calculation of minimum reinforcement in isolated rigid footing in reinforced concrete. After comparing results, a proposal for this calculation was presented. It is suggested that the minimum reinforcement should be equal to 7,20% of the maximum reinforcement, besides proposing a simplified equation for calculating the minimum reinforcement. The Brazilian standards NBR 6118: 2014, North American ACI 318-19 and European Eurocode 2, 2004 were analyzed. These bildings codes have no specific formulations for calculating the minimum reinforcement of the structural element footing, therefore was considered information regarding the structural beam element in reinforced concrete.
