O impacto do Programa de Extensão “Caixa De Histórias” no processo de formação profissional de Terapeutas Ocupacionais e a contribuição deste para suas atuações profissionais
Abstract
Hospitalization causes a break in children's daily life, and Occupational Therapy is responsible for seeking and offering therapeutic resources capable of helping to cope with the pathology and hospitalization. In this sense, the Extension Program “Caixa de Histórias” presents itself as an important tool for improving the context of hospitalization of children and adolescents, in addition to helping in the professional training of undergraduates through the development of assistance and interventions. Thus, the present research aimed to characterize the Occupational Therapists who went through the training and implementation process of the “Caixa de Histórias” Program, identifying what motivated them to participate in the referred program, in addition to the practices during the participation in the program. triggered in their professional training process. The study was characterized as a cross-sectional descriptive research of qualitative and quantitative analysis, using a form developed through the Google Form application, being sent to Occupational Therapists graduated from FMRP-USP who went through the training process and implementation of the “Caixa de Stories”. In all, the questionnaire consisted of 37 questions, 21 of which were multiple-choice questions and 16 essay questions, ordered into 7 general stages: presentation of the project, characterization of the participant, characterization of the program, impact of the program, skills acquired, importance of the program and personal perception of the former graduate student. As a result, of the 97 Occupational Therapy graduates who participated in the “Caixa de Histórias” Extension Program, 94 professionals were contacted. In all, 64 participants agreed to participate and respond to the survey. Through the results, the positive impact of the program for professional training of Occupational Therapists was evidenced, allowing the development of a professional reasoning and the development of procedural and attitudinal skills that can be used during and after graduation.
