| dc.description.abstract | The following work describes the process of carrying out an experimental video-essay that, based on the seminal work by Laura Mulvey, Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema, that inaugurates feminist thought in cinematographic studies, seeks in the two versions of Suspiria — both the original 1977 film, directed by Dario Argento, and its 2018 remake, by Luca Guadagnino — a reflection on the representation of the female body in cinema. Based on theoretical research and a bibliographical review of works on female representation and on different video-essay formats, we seek to elaborate an audiovisual product that explores the link between the female body and its images — provoked by these two films — without necessarily relying on a “thesis” to be proved. The goal is to launch a sort of initial questioning and let the editing, in itself, provoke reflection in the viewers. | eng |

| dc.description.resumo | Este trabalho de Conclusão de Curso descreve o processo de realização de um um vídeo ensaio experimental que, a partir do texto Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema, trabalho seminal de Laura Mulvey que inaugura o pensamento feminista nos estudos cinematográficos, procura nas duas versões do filme Suspiria — seu original de 1977, dirigido por Dario Argento, e seu remake de 2018, de Luca Guadagnino — uma reflexão sobre a representação do corpo feminino no cinema. Partindo de uma revisão bibliográfica sobre a representação feminina e sobre diferentes formatos de vídeo ensaio, buscamos elaborar um produto audiovisual que explorasse o vínculo entre o corpo feminino e sua representação no cinema — provocado por estes dois filmes — sem necessariamente valer-se de uma “tese” a ser comprovada. A ideia é lançar uma espécie de questionamento inicial e deixar que a montagem visual e sonora, em si, provoque reflexões em quem assiste. | por |
