Metodologias de avaliação da qualidade ambiental em ecossistemas aquáticos continentais
Abstract
The present work aims to carry out a bibliographic survey on methodologies used to assess
environmental quality in lotic ecosystems, and analyze the importance of these methodologies
for this type of assessment, highlighting their positive and negative points, in addition to
highlighting their forms of application . Highlighting traditionally used methodologies, such as
the Water Quality Index (WQI), with a more efficient approach to detect environmental
impacts, seeking to integrate physical, chemical and biological information on aquatic
ecosystems brought by the analysis of these methods, in addition to highlighting other
mechanisms of analysis of water quality and its relevance in each circumstance of use, seeking
to improve efficiency in detecting environmental impacts. The importance of bioindicators as
tools for assessing environmental impacts is also highlighted, highlighting their ability to
respond to natural and anthropogenic disturbances.
