dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this work is to discuss the importance of anti-racist education as a part of Art/Education, serving as a catalyst for new cultural paradigms. This perspective is highlighted in the teaching of Art through the enactment of laws 10.639/2003 and 11.645/2008, which make it mandatory to include African and Afro-Brazilian history and culture in the school curriculum, with an emphasis on History, Art, and Literature subjects. The main research question is: "What is the significance of Art/Education in anti-racist education?" To address this question, the author of this study explored personal learning experiences in the field of Art, official legislations, and relevant bibliographical references on the topic. The results point to the urgency of combating racism in pedagogical practices, which often remain rigid and suppress black identity, leading to stigmatization. Several factors contribute to progress in this matter, with one of them being teacher artistic training. This perspective believes it is essential to promote the teaching of African and Afro-Brazilian arts in Basic Education and initial teacher training, in order to value black identity within our society and counter structural racism.eng
dc.description.resumoO trabalho tem por objetivo discutir sobre a importância da educação antirracista como parte da Arte/Educação enquanto fomentadora de novos paradigmas culturais, perspectiva esta que passa a ser ressaltada no ensino de Arte com o estabelecimento das leis 10.639/2003 e 11.645/2008 que tornam obrigatório o ensino da História e cultura africana, afro-brasileira e indígena no currículo escolar com ênfase nas disciplinas de História, Arte e Literatura. A questão-problema principal da pesquisa é: “Qual importância da Arte/Educação na educação antirracista?” Para procurar respondê-la, foram exploradas as memórias de aprendizado no campo da Arte do autor deste estudo, as legislações oficiais e referências bibliográficas que dialogam sobre a temática. Os resultados apontam para a urgência de se combater o racismo nas práticas pedagógicas, quase sempre engessadas em um formato que silencia a identidade negra, muitas vezes estigmatizada. Alguns fatores são importantes para o avanço nesta questão, sendo a formação artística docente um deles. Esta ótica acredita ser necessário fomentar o ensino de artes africana, afro-brasileira e indígena na Educação Básica e na formação inicial, de modo a valorizar a identidade negra em nossa sociedade, combatendo o racismo estrutural.por
