Abstract

The undergraduate medical course of the Federal University of São Carlos has the objective to create physicians according to the National Curriculum Guidelines, which guide the shaping of the intended physician profile: a generalist one, with humanistic, critic and reflexive posture, capacitated to act on the health-disease process, on the areas of health promotion, prevention, recovery and rehabilitation. This publication is written in the form of a critical-reflexive narrative coupled with description of the trajectory of an undergraduate student, from his joining in medical school in 2013, until his leaving with a degree in 2022. Summarily describes the main activities done by the author as well as the main obstacles faced on his way and the obstacles faced by his colleagues and peers. Tells the story of all his undergraduate years as well as considerations due to the pandemic of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2, which began in 2019 and has effects up until the date of this publication.
