Seleção competitiva de fornecedores de serviços de armazenagem: Um estudo de caso do processo licitatório numa empresa do setor da saúde

Abstract

As market demands and commercial pressure increase, the selection of warehousing services becomes a challenge for companies, as it can raise costs and compromise competitiveness. This study analyzes the bidding process for warehousing service providers in a multinational healthcare company located in São Paulo. The research was conducted through interviews with seven professionals from different areas: procurement, logistics and operations, and safety, all of whom participate in the company's bidding process. This study aims to categorize the main criteria required during the supplier selection bidding process, identifying strategies, advantages, and challenges. It also seeks to explore the bidding process specifically for companies in the healthcare sector. By comparing the case with the literature, it was observed that even when employing different supplier selection methodologies, the criteria evaluated, and the strategies adopted by the company in the case are similar. The results indicate the competitive advantages of implementing a formal and systematic process for the selection of warehousing providers through bidding: improvements in quality and operational efficiency, cost reduction, strengthening of strategic partnerships, service innovation, and an evolution in strategic alignment of objectives between suppliers and the contracting company.
