Resumo
This work sought to analyze the implications of the Covid-19 pandemic in Brazilian Education during the years 2020 and 2021, with the suspension of face-to-face classes. Using as main methodology the bibliographical review, allied to the documental research (). Internet memes about emergency remote teaching were taken as the research object, based on the hypothesis that they constitute a new discursive genre – capable of translating, in a humorous tone, the representations constructed by the subjects about themes with social impact. The research was divided into three moments, the first of which focused on building a timeline with the events of the pandemic in Brazil based on news and documents; the second containing a historical review of the events that marked the emergence of the Digital Age in the 21st century (CASTELLS, 1999; 2003) (LÉVY, 1999) (BELL, 1977) and, finally, a deepening of the concept of meme (LEAL- TOLEDO, 2017) and the analysis of a corpus of 14 memes.
