Diretrizes para implementação de business intelligence no monitoramento contínuo da execução financeira do PROAP na UFSCar

Abstract

The dispersion of information in the management of the Graduate Support Program (PROAP) at Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) makes it difficult to monitor the integrated budget of this resource within the Institution. This study proposes a way to structure the continuous monitoring of the program´s financial execution based on Business Intelligence (BI) principles. The research is qualitative, in case study format, based mainly on documentary analysis and administrative records related to financial execution. The results show that the definition of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), data governance and systematic monitoring routines can favor the organization of Integrated Financial Management System of the Federal Government (SIAFI) and Electronic Information System (SEI) records in general information applicable to monitoring. The study resulted in a proposal for a management panel structured in three layers, with nineteen KPIs and documented calculation rules, in addition to an institutional adoption guide that guides its implementation at UFSCar. These products may contribute to improving budget predictability and reducing of dependence on manual controls in the management of PROAP.
