This study is grounded in the understanding that the everyday lives of adolescents and young people are shaped by social markers such as gender, class, and territory. It is a qualitative, exploratory, and participatory research project aimed at understanding the daily experiences of young female students attending a public school. The Photovoice methodology was employed as a means of expression and analysis, combining image production with attentive listening and critical reflection. The investigation was conducted in a public school located on the outskirts of São Carlos, São Paulo, and involved female students who documented significant aspects of their daily routines through photographs, which were subsequently shared and discussed collectively among all participants. Data analysis was carried out using thematic analysis, allowing for the identification of emergent categories based on the participants’ oral and visual narratives. Group meetings enabled the collective construction of narratives based on the images, addressing themes such as self-esteem, self-care, family relationships, the burden of domestic tasks, aesthetic pressures, rivalry among girls, and future aspirations. The photographs and narratives revealed both challenges and potentials present in everyday life, with particular emphasis on affective bonds with female figures—especially mothers—as well as on the desire for recognition and belonging. Among the main challenges identified were gender inequality in domestic responsibilities, the need to reconcile academic demands with family caregiving, and pressures related to aesthetic standards. It is concluded that this research highlights the importance of recognizing the knowledge and experiences of young girls as a means of fostering more equitable and sensitive educational spaces. Furthermore, it contributes to the strengthening of social occupational therapy by demonstrating the potential of participatory methodologies to promote participation and to make visible experiences that are often silenced within school and broader social contexts.

Physiotherapy plays a significant role and has a significant presence in the hospital environment, mainly by preventing complications from immobility and promoting improvements in functional and respiratory conditions, which can impact patients' length of stay. Therefore, understanding the resources used in the assessment and provision of hospital physiotherapy, as well as analyzing kinetic-functional data and length of stay, allows for obtaining detailed information about these practices and their impacts, in addition to supporting reflections aimed at potential improvements in institutional processes. Objective: To conduct a survey of the main assessment instruments, techniques, and physiotherapy resources used in different hospital inpatient units. Methods: This is a descriptive, retrospective study of medical record analysis, which sought to provide a detailed analysis of the physiotherapy care offered to patients hospitalized in wards and intensive care units. This analysis was conducted in the context of the University Hospital of UFSCar. The research encompassed a wide age range, including elderly and adults, reflecting the diversity of patients receiving physiotherapy care. Access to medical records was through the AGHUX electronic hospital record system. Clinical and hospitalization data from patients were collected, as well as data related to physiotherapy care, such as: which assessment instruments and intervention resources were most used, whether a physiotherapy diagnosis was established, whether the objectives and goals of physiotherapy care were clear, as well as patterns and content presented in the progress notes. Results: After data analysis, the most prevalent physiotherapy techniques and resources were found to be bedside sitting (77%), secretion removal therapy (47%), standing (64%), stretching (55%), and functional positioning (42%). The most evaluated aspects and instruments used by physiotherapists were respiratory rate, peripheral oxygen saturation, pulmonary auscultation, heart rate, Glasgow Coma Scale, and ICU Mobility Scale (IMS). The physiotherapeutic diagnosis was established in 4.7% of the consultations/patients. Conclusion: Physiotherapists used vital signs, level of consciousness, and the IMS scale as the most prevalent assessment instruments, and the most frequently used intervention techniques were secretion removal therapy and bedside sitting. The physiotherapeutic diagnosis is still poorly established.

This work aims to compare different link functions applied to Generalized Linear Models (GLMs) for binary response variables, especially in contexts with unbalanced data. Traditional link functions, such as Logit, Probit, and Cloglog, as well as generalized extensions based on Power and Reverse Power functions, were evaluated. The interest in conducting this study arises from the claims in the literature that asymmetric links tend to exhibit superior predictive performance compared to symmetric functions in scenarios with strong imbalance. Accordingly, this work sought to systematically investigate whether such an advantage is indeed observed in practice. To this end, Monte Carlo simulation studies and applications to various real datasets were conducted, allowing observation in practice of how these functions behave under different degrees of imbalance. The analyses allowed us to evaluate, in various contexts, whether the flexibility introduced by the additional parameters of these links results in relevant gains in performance or stability. In general, the results showed that the different link functions, both traditional and generalized, presented very similar Area Under the ROC Curve (AUC) values in both simulations and practical applications, maintaining similar performance patterns even when faced with changes in the degree of imbalance, the distribution of covariates,or the number of predictors.

With the advent of technology, geotechnologies have been gaining prominence in recent years, especially in the field of surveying. Currently, there are several ways to perform a topographic survey of a given area, either on-site or remotely, using free software that utilizes satellite imagery. However, each of these systems has technical particularities that can compromise the entire project, given that planimetric and altimetric data obtained on-site or through satellite imagery may present different correspondences. In this sense, the present study aimed to conduct a comparative analysis between planialtimetric data obtained through the QGIS software and GNSS RTK (Real Time Kinematic) technology, in order to evaluate the accuracy, efficiency, and limitations of each approach for topographic surveying. The research was carried out in an experimental area of the Agricultural Sciences Center at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), using QGIS 3.40.9 for coordinate extraction and a GNSS RTK receiver (CHC NAV) for field data collection. The results showed a high planimetric correspondence between the methods and small altimetric variations, with an average difference of ΔZ = –0.24 m, demonstrating the reliability of GNSS RTK for precision surveys. The most significant discrepancies were attributed to differences in vertical datums and to the resolution of the Digital Elevation Model (DEM) used in QGIS. The integration between GNSS RTK and QGIS proved to be technically feasible and advantageous, combining the centimeter-level accuracy of GNSS positioning with the analytical and visualization tools of the GIS environment. It is concluded that, although QGIS is suitable for preliminary analyses and planning, GNSS RTK offers superior performance in terms of accuracy and reliability. Therefore, the combined use of both platforms constitutes an efficient, precise, and economically viable alternative for topographic surveys applied to agricultural, environmental, and engineering fields.

Protected areas (PAs) are essential for conserving native biodiversity and the ecosystem services they provide. In Brasil, these areas are governed by the National System of Nature Conservation Units (SNUC) and are classified into two main management groups: Strict Protection and Sustainable Use. Among the factors that compromise biodiversity conservation in PAs, the presence of invasive alien species stands out, as they represent one of the main drivers of biodiversity loss and directly affect the effectiveness of conservation and restoration efforts. One of the strategies used to control these species is the application of chemical methods, with herbicides being an efficient alternative. In this context, this research aims to (i) evaluate the use of herbicides in ecological restoration within protected areas in the state of São Paulo, (ii) determine whether legal restrictions exist regarding herbicide use in ecological restoration in these areas, and (iii) identify and quantify the protected areas in which herbicide use is permitted or prohibited for restoration purposes. In order to achieve the goals, the current environmental legislation and the management plans of each state-level PA were analyzed to verify permissions or restrictions regarding the use of chemical control. The results suggest that the lack of specific guidelines in management plans tends to affect how chemical control is implemented, leading to differences in how management actions are carried out. In this context, it is important that these documents incorporate more consistent technical guidance capable of better supporting decision-making by managers and promoting the adoption of efficient methods suited to the needs of each protected area.

This study analyzes, from a Foucauldian and documentary perspective, public policies and the condition of persons with disabilities within the Brazilian prison system, emphasizing processes of exclusion, recognition, and biopolitics. Based on a bibliographic review and documentary analysis—including laws, decrees, institutional guidelines, official reports, and datasets from IBGE, INEP, RELIPEN, and SISDEPEN—the research is organized into three analytical axes: (1) the State, norms, and invisibilities; (2) data, structures, and exclusionary patterns in the prison context; and (3) anomalous bodies, biopolitics, and the management of the “undesirable.” The study reveals a significant gap between the normative framework (such as the Brazilian Inclusion Law, educational legislation, and accessibility standards) and institutional practice. Persistent shortcomings include insufficient accessible cells and adaptations, informational gaps, and the communicational invisibility of persons with disabilities. Official data also highlight structural deficits—such as the reduced number of adequate facilities compared to the population with disabilities—demonstrating systemic violations of rights. The research concludes that urgent actions are needed, including the production and standardization of specific data, the strengthening of intersectoral policies, effective implementation of accessibility measures, professional training, and enhanced monitoring by oversight bodies, to transform formal legal guarantees into concrete conditions of dignity and inclusion within prisons.

The understanding of women's mental health transcends the traditional boundaries of gender studies, expanding into an approach that recognizes the complexity of female identities, identifying how factors such as social class, race, sexual orientation, and many other elements interact to shape individual experiences. In the context of CAPS (Psychosocial Care Centers), understanding these factors is essential to identify the specific challenges faced by women, which include not only clinical aspects but also social and gender dimensions that affect their mental health. This Course Conclusion Work aimed to investigate and understand the factors that influence the mental health of women users of Psychosocial Care Centers (CAPS). This is a Narrative Literature Review, conducted based on searches in the BVS, Scielo, and CAPES Periodicals Portal databases using the following descriptor combinations: "women AND CAPS AND mental health"; "women AND CAPS AND psychological distress" and "women AND CAPS". At the end of the searches, reading process, and analysis of the studies, the review was composed of 10 articles, which were organized into three categories for discussion, namely: 1) Mental Health and Gender; 2) Psychoactive Substance Dependence and Social Vulnerabilities; and 3) Impacts of Work and Precarization on Mental Health. The results highlighted that female psychological distress is deeply linked to gender inequalities, violence, overload of social roles, and the persistence of stigmas and social barriers. It was found that the professionals' approach in CAPS services must go beyond symptoms, recognizing the social dimensions and the intersection of factors such as race, class, and sexual orientation that accentuate the users' psychological vulnerability. It is concluded that understanding these factors is essential for CAPS practices to become more sensitive and inclusive, questioning the asylum logic and deterministic models, promoting more equitable and effective support for women.

Social contractuality, as formulated by Benedetto Saraceno, refers to the social conditions that enable individuals to circulate within community spaces, engage in exchanges, and assume socially recognized roles, representing a central goal of Psychosocial Care. Within Brazil’s Psychosocial Care Centers (CAPS), group practices and everyday-life-oriented interventions serve as powerful mechanisms for fostering relationships, encouraging the exploration of new occupations, and strengthening connections beyond the institutional setting, which are core elements in the reconstruction of contractual agency. This paper presents an experience report from the perspective of an Occupational Therapy student participating in activities with a user group in a CAPS II, aiming to describe and reflect on how the actions developed within the group contributed to supporting early movements toward social contractuality. Based on records produced throughout the extension project and organized into three intervention scenes, small yet meaningful developments were identified, shaped by shared doing, collective activities, and the strengthening of group identity, elements that mobilized processes of lending contractual power on the part of the team. The analysis of these reconstruction processes, articulated with the literature, showed that these movements emerged primarily within the domains of social networks and work. However, the limited availability of community social spaces and the lack of intersectoral coordination restricted the exercise of contractuality within the dimension of inhabiting everyday community life. The findings reinforce the relevance of group practices in CAPS and highlight the contribution of Occupational Therapy in mediating processes that expand participation and belonging, emphasizing the importance of integrating theory and practice in professional training.

Brazil is internationally recognized as one of the largest producers of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) and soybean (Glycine max). This high productivity is made possible by the country’s favorable climatic conditions, such as high temperatures and abundant rainfall. The warm and humid climate makes Brazil one of the most productive agricultural regions in the world. Both legume species play a significant role in human nutrition due to their high nutritional value, being rich in proteins and carbohydrates and having a low caloric content, which makes them valuable for both human and animal diets. However, the productivity of these crops has been increasingly threatened by the emergence of bacterial diseases. The use of pesticides in seedlings contributes to the control of these pathogens, although, over time, it also promotes bacterial resistance. Microbial metabolites can serve as an alternative strategy for managing bacterial diseases in bean and soybean crops. Thus, this project aimed to evaluate the activity of biosurfactants produced by Pseudomonas aeruginosa LBI 2A1, known as rhamnolipids, in the control of bacterial diseases such as common bacterial blight (CBC) (Xanthomonas citri pv. fuscans) and bacterial pustule (Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. glycines). The methodology involved experiments in which different concentrations of the biosurfactant were added to the culture medium used for bacterial growth. After data collection, the results were analyzed using appropriate statistical methods. The antimicrobial effect of rhamnolipids proved to be effective against X. citri pv. fuscans, showing a significant reduction in microbial growth across the tested biosurfactant concentrations. In contrast, X. axonopodis pv. glycines demonstrated resistance to the biosurfactant, exhibiting an increase in bacterial population growth at the different rhamnolipid concentrations, indicating a positive effect on bacterial proliferation

The intensification of poultry farming generates large volumes of organic waste, demanding sustainable management strategies. Anaerobic digestion emerges as a promising alternative, enabling the treatment of these residues and the simultaneous production of biogas and biofertilizers. This experimental study aimed to assess the technical feasibility of using a laboratory-scale anaerobic biodigester for biogas production from poultry waste, as well as to evaluate the potential of the resulting digestate for use as a biofertilizer in soil restoration. The experiment was conducted at the Laboratório de Pesquisa em Bioninsumos (LaPeBi), using nine anaerobic reactors of 3 liters, distributed into three treatments in triplicate: Control (water + manure), Treatment B (higher proportion of manure and eggs), and Treatment C (equal proportions of manure, eggs, and vinasse). Reactors were maintained at 25 °C, and biogas production was monitored daily by liquid displacement (STP). Weekly samples were collected for pH, fixed total solids (FTS), and volatile total solids (VTS) analyses. Treatment C presented the highest cumulative biogas production (829 mL) and greater process stability, a statistically significant difference compared to the other treatments, confirming its superior anaerobic digestion efficiency. Treatment B showed intermediate production but greater variability among replicates, suggesting lower operational stability. The Control treatment did not produce measurable biogas, highlighting the importance of co-digestion and complementary nutrient supply. pH remained mostly within the optimal range for methanogenesis (6.6–7.4). FTS and VTS values indicated greater organic matter degradation in Treatment C, although without statistical difference compared to Treatment B, reinforcing the potential of vinasse as a co-substrate. The results demonstrate that co-digestion of poultry manure with white eggs and vinasse is an effective strategy to enhance biogas production at laboratory scale while producing a digestate with potential agricultural applications. Further experiments are recommended to monitor the complete digestion cycle and optimize operational conditions, aiming to maximize production at larger scales.

This work aims to investigate multicomponent alloys for hydrogen storage through the formation of metal hydrides, using titanium alloy scrap (Ti Grade 2 – ASTM F67 and Ti6Al4V-ELI – ASTM F136) and commercially pure metallic elements, with the goal of obtaining more sustainable materials in terms of the environmental impact of raw materials. Initially, the Ti-V-Nb-Cr system was studied by replacing high-purity Ti with Ti6Al4V-ELI scrap, resulting in the Ti18Nb23V24Cr33Al2 alloy, whose major phase exhibits a body-centered cubic (BCC) structure. The presence of Al and the lower Ti content increased the equilibrium pressure and reduced hydride stability compared to the reference alloy (TiVNb)65Cr35, produced from high-purity elements. Nevertheless, the recycled alloy showed a hydrogen storage capacity of 2.7 wt.% H at room temperature and improved cyclic stability. To further reduce the carbon footprint, vanadium was eliminated from the composition, as primary V presents the highest CO2-equivalent emissions in the Ti-V-Nb-Cr system. Alloys from the T-Nb-Cr system were then developed using Ti Grade 2 and Ti6Al4V-ELI scrap. The Ti33Nb33Cr33 and Ti32Al2V1Nb37Cr28 alloys exhibited predominantly BCC microstructures, with a fraction of C15Laves phase, and hydrogen storage capacities between 2.25 and 2.5 wt.% H. CO2 emissions associated with raw materials were reduced by approximately 30% after removing V from the composition. Finally, the Ti15Zr17Fe22Mn21Cr22Al2V1 alloy, produced from Ti6Al4V-ELI scrap and commercial elements, was investigated. This alloy formed a C14 Laves phase and exhibited a hydrogen storage capacity of 1.2 wt.% H, with excellent reversibility at room temperature. Despite the lower capacity, the emissions associated with its raw materials were only 1.3 kg CO2-eq, corresponding to reductions of 89% and 80% compared to the Ti-V-Nb-Cr and Ti-Nb-Cr systems, respectively.

This final project focuses on the reflective exploration and research of the pedagogical experiences of Yasnaya Polyana, seeking to identify the aggregative and applicable possibilities that the pedagogical framework constructed by Tolstoy can offer to contemporary Brazilian early childhood education, with a view to enabling more humane and emancipatory teaching practices. The project employed a methodological bibliographic collection process of various textual genres, expanding the boundaries of traditional academic and scientific sources. The primary sources used were literary, didactic, religious, and other critical works by Tolstoy, in national and foreign languages, as well as those of commentators, who comprise a limited universe. The work concluded that Tolstoy and Russian education possess a rich historical and cultural heritage, whose analysis and reflection, especially on the experience developed in Yasnaya Polyana, can favor the development of new educational approaches and practices in our current reality.

This final paper aims to report the experiences faced during the Medical graduation course at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) by a student of the XV class, between 2020 and 2025, focusing on the obstacles caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The social isolation, whether academical or interpersonal, the fear of contamination and the experience of death and grief were the pillars of this dark times, impacting not only the lives, but also the mental and physical health of many students. Furthermore, the delay in returning to the practical activities, as recommended by the political-pedagogical project of the Medicine Department, and the risks involved in said return, caused great psychic impairment. However, the shared coping of said obstacles, the resilience and the empathy, tools used to build a repertoire of skills to solve problems and manage frustration, were positive and welcomed results of such a terrible historical event. Equipped with these experiences and emotional instruments, I now finish the Medical graduation with the expectation of not having to face such a barrier evermore, and if it so comes to be necessary, then let it be with better strategy and easiness, with greater knowledge, skills and attitudes.

This work is characterized as an analytical descriptive study that investigates, in the context of public elementary and high schools in the city of São Carlos, São Paulo, Brazil, the possible conditions for the lack of commitment of school principals to the pedagogical dimension of their role. The research was motivated by the author's observation of an antagonistic situation in the performance of these professionals: on the one hand, the need for a pedagogical posture from the school principal that enables the execution of the teaching-learning process; on the other hand, the resistance, manifested by these professionals in their daily lives, in assuming the pedagogical dimension of their role. The subjects of this investigation were 32 school principals of the public elementary and high schools network of the state of São Paulo, from the cities linked to the São Carlos education department. A questionnaire consisting predominantly of open-ended questions related to the problem investigated was used as the instrument for data collection. Data analysis was performed by considering groups of statements with similar meanings configured in response classes quantified as percentages. This analysis includes both the academic and post-academic training of school principals and their conceptions, opinions, explanations and/or justifications in relation to the problem investigated; the intra- and extra-school requests made to them and the predictions and alternative proposals expressed by these professionals. The results obtained confirm the antagonistic situation identified. School principals acknowledge the importance and need for their pedagogical work in order to make the teaching-learning process viable in their schools, but they do not assume, in their daily school life, the pedagogical dimension of their work. The possible conditions for the lack of commitment to the pedagogical dimension of their role were revealed, according to the reports of school principals, to be of diverse natures and levels: excess of tasks performed, division and fragmentation of daily activities, constant and diverse requests both within and outside the school, failure to fill modules with the consequent reduction of professionals needed by schools, minimal and sometimes non-existent decision-making power and lack of direct participation in proposals for curricular change and/or pedagogical innovations.

Cu-Zn-Al mixture oxides catalysts with atomic ratios r-Cu/Zn=3,0 and R=Cu+Zn/Al=1,2 were obtained by means of citric complexing method. The influence of citric acid content was studied varying P=(eq.citric acid/Eq.metal) between 0,7-1,5 and the calcination temperature from 400 to 700°C in the precursors. Precursors and oxides were characterized by IR, TDA, TGA, XRD, SBET, TPR, SCU and SEM. The thermal decomposition of the precursors was studied in N2 and air atmosphere. The X-rays diphratograms of the calcinated oxides presented two cristallite phases: CuO and ZnAl2 04. The TPR curves showed an increment of CuO phase segregation as the calcination temperature was increased. The catalytic activity of this system was checked through the direct transformation of ethanol varying contact tim e and reaction temperature. It was verified that the catalysts presented decreasing activity for ethyl acetate when Cuo segregation increased.

Alumina (Al2O3) ceramic specimens have been prepared via traditional ceramic process, namely, powder analyses, classification and conditioning, uniaxial cold pressong and sintering. DC electrical resistivity measurements has been carried out at RT and 600oC. A tubular resistive furnace with an alumina sample chamber with platinum leads and electrodes was used. The main results show that the electrical resistivity of polycrystalline alumina increases with the decrease of the porosity, having as a limit the single crystal resistivity. Moreover, the electrical resistivity depends on the average grain size in the 4Wm 10 Wm range. For grain sizes smaller than 4 Wm the porosity is found to be higher than 0,1%.

Nowadays, the modern society is going through radical technological changes that are generating debate and proposals concerning new ways of working. Information, computer and communication technologies represent an important role as modifiers of the way the work is done. When people in any kind of organization join themselves in workgroups to solve a problem or make a decision it is necessary to develop or use new dynamic group techniques for these people to work together. So, this work is concerned with matters of this kind where the computer is used to support the tasks of workgroups, what is quite new and revolucionary, being necessary some facilities to aid in the development and coordination of the work. In this dissertation it is introduced and defined this new technology. It is also presented a prototype of a groupware tool which helps people organize workshops, conferences, seminars, etc. The developed prototype brings some contributions to the CSCW área an is the begining of a more complex system to help the organization of Academic Events (conferences, workshops, etc.). From the user point of view the cooperation is seen as the possibility to the program committee, to share the decision to choose the papers that will make the technical program. In this case the decision should be centralized on-line. The tool allows that the referres can make, in assincronous mode, the assessment of the papers they are judging. Among many others tasks the tool allows the recording of the structure of the event, incluiding comittes, their chairs and participants, role definition and script of each stake holder, etc.

This paper looks at the intersections between feminist epistemology, feminist jurisprudence and research on artificial intelligence and the law. It is suggested that feminist theory highlights the role of subjectivity which is ignored in the traditional epistemology of AI systems. This allows AI systems to appear to be "perspectiveless" when they may be tacitly used in a normative role which ignores alternative knowledges. The paper looks at the Cyc system as an example. In developing an expert system to advise on Sex Discrimination law a number of lessons are learned both from the Forms Helper system and more particularly from feminist jurisprudence and from the critique of AI from feminist epistemology.
