This work, through a multi-case study, aimed to identify the success key-factors of the companies who operate the flowers electronic retail business. Such analysis adopts as a parameter the strategies of marketing-mix and logistic used by the sector in question. In this context, this work aimed to find out the performance targets prioritized by the companies and its stakeholders. The Identification of the flowers electronic retail success key-factors focus on elaborating recommendations to improve the performance of the flowers electronic retail companies as well as of companies which directly or indirectly relate to them. To do so, this work has basis on both the theoretical revision and the empirical analysis. The bibliographical revision approaches the theories related to the distribution channels, electronic commerce, marketing-mix, logistic, performance targets and success key-factors. The empirical analysis, through a multi case study with four flowers electronic retail companies, using an personal interview with a specialist in flowers trading and an author s observation, intended to verify the gap between the theory and practice in this type of enterprise. Finally, the elaboration of suggestions and recommendations to the retail companies is made based on the intersection of the two dissertation basis: the bibliographical revision and on the empirical analysis.

The present study describes the preparation of amides containing the methylenedioxyphenyl group and also their activity against the leaf-cutting ant, Atta sexdens rubropilosa, its symbiotic fungus Leucoagaricus gongylophorus and the fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda, larvae. From the bioassays it was observed that N-piperidine-3-(3 ,4 - methylenedioxyphenyl)-2-(E)-propenamide (65) was the most promising as insecticide agent among the compounds studied against S. frugiperda with an LD50=1.07 µg/mg larvae. Amide 65 and N,N-diethyl-3-(3 ,4 - methylenedioxyphenyl)-2-(E)-propenamide (66) were the most active against the symbiotic fungus; and N-pirrolidine-3-(3 ,4 -methylenedioxyphenyl)-2-(E)- propenamide (67) and N-benzyl-3-(3 ,4 -methylenedioxyphenyl)-2-(E)- propenamide (72) against the leaf-cutting ant. Additional studies were necessary to establish the structure activity relationship for piperamides. Thus, Combinatorial Chemistry technologies were employed and a solution-phase synthesis of indexed collection of amides was carried out, identified by Gas Chromatography coupled with Mass Spectroscopy (GC/MS), and screened against S. frugiperda. From this library, the most active compound identified was 1-[4- (trifluoromethoxy)benzoyl]piperidine, A8B1, which was then individually synthesized and evaluated. It has shown a LD50 = 8,15 µg/mg larvae, thus less active than amide 65 against S. frugiperda.

The fruit sector is found in expansion, being considered one of the fastest emerging and potential in the Brazilian agribusiness. The fruit chain has been affected by the increase in global competitiveness, where the big producers and retailers, focusing on the strengthening of their competitive position have amplified their strategies and acquisitions leading to a greater market concentration, a greater asymmetry of power and more complex configuration of this chain worldwide. The mango is in the spotlight in the Brazilian fruit culture, it is the third best exported fruit (113 thousand tons) in 2005. Brazil was eighth in worldwide production of mango in 2005, producing 850.000 tons. The northeast was the main productive area, responsible for 66% of all national production. The fruit sector is strongly affected by non-tariff barriers (NTBs), especially technical and phytosanitary. The restrictions have represented serious obstacles to the Brazilian fruit culture expansion in the international market. Therefore, the general goal of this research was analyze the productive chain of the exported Brazilian mango, focusing on the imposition of non-tariff barriers in the production, harvest, post harvest and distribution of national producers of mango in natura, where the study of case was selected as a more adequate method for the research and thus as multicase study was carried through. Some results found stand out: the technical barriers (having a phytosanitary state) are more frequent in mango exportation; the fruit is sold indirectly; the agriculture practice and non-tariff barriers are interrelated and finally, the consume behavior in different markets and consumers interfere in the process and practices adopted by the producers.

Boophilus microplus tick affects cattle productivity causing economic losses in the order of billions of dollars annually. It is know that tick saliva exert immunomodulatory effects, an evolutionary adaptation to the immune response of the host that can counteract tick feeding. It has been suggested that the outcome of many parasitic infections with regard to resistance or susceptibility is determined by the pattern of response involving Th1 and Th2 cells, which produce specific cytokines that may direct the immune response towards different mechanisms. Limited information is available regarding to the host response to B. microplus tick infestation. In an attempt to improve our knowledge about cattle immune-response to ticks, this work determined the expression levels of cytokines mRNAs in two groups of Nelore (Bos indicus) calves: one control and other challenged by tick infestation. Our results demonstrated a down-regulation of IL-2 (P < 0.03) mRNA levels in challenged animals, while no effect of tick challenge was observed for IL-4, IL-8, IL-12p35, TNF-α and MCP-1. The down regulation of an important Th1 cytokine suggests a tendency towards a Th2 response pattern, which is in agreement with similar studies conducted with other tick-host models.

Many GIS developers ignore the essential phases of the project like modeling databases, damaging the future development of the system. Considered very important to the project development, modeling will be broached in this article due to the great volume of existing data in transport systems and the need to manipulate them in a safe, reliable and fast way. In order to do it, a model for georeferenced database in being purposed, according to OMT-G graphical note model form BORGES (1997), to subsidize the management of the urban public transport. The method adopted for the modeling development was CÂMARA's (1999) abstraction levels. The application of the conceptual model developed will be carried out on a sample project considering the data referred to the public transport system raised at EMDURB Empresa Municipal de Desenvolvimento Urbano e Rural de Bauru, using a GIS SPRING tool and an Access database. Considering the difficulties the public administration finds in raising resources and the easiness to obtain these tools, considered one of public domain and another of low costs, the interested administration , specially in the medium and small cities, in introduce this model won't need great investments for the project development and the consequent procurement of georeferrenced information regarding the public transport.

Computational tools - softwares become more and more useful in the scope of Engineering. Several authors have already confirmed its benefits for the engineering's students education. In the last years, the availability of specific softwares for Traffic Engineering have increased. Nowadays, the selection process to identify the more adjusted computational tool to each task is one of the major difficulties in its use. This paper presents a methodology for selecting computational tools - softwares to be used in teaching disciplines of Traffic Engineering. This methodology, named MESET - METHODOLOGY FOR SELECTING COMPUTATIONAL TOOLS FOR TEACHING TRAFFIC ENGINEERING, was based on United States Department of Transports method, (2004). Its original evaluation criteria and specific tasks were adapted for teaching use inside the Traffic Engineering s parameters from Brazilian reality. The component criteria and item were identified through research carried with Traffic Engineer s Brazilian universities teachers. After defining the adequate procedures and routines MESET was also demonstrated through the software Synchro/SimTraffic, demo version. Through the criteria adopted, MESET s application final results have indicated that the software Synchro is adjusted to teach the analysed item - the modeling of intersections traffic lights.

In tropical regions, resistance of cattle to external parasites is an important factor determining efficiency of the production systems. The objectives in this study were to evaluate the degree of resistance of Nelore (NE), Canchim x Nelore (CN), Aberdeen Angus x Nelore (AN) and Simmental x Nelore (SN) females of several ages to cattle tick (Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus), horn fly (Haematobia irritans) and beef-worm (Dermatobia hominis), and the possibility of selection to increase resistance of beef cattle to these parasites, through the estimation of genetic parameters of the degree of natural infestation, in order to furnish information to beef cattle breeding programs in Brazil. Two experiments were carried out. In experiment 1, 16 NE, 18 CN, 16 AN and 16 SN 16.5 months old females, were artificially infested with 20,000 larvae of cattle tick, four times 14 days apart each, were done, and from day 18 to day 22 of each infestation the number of engorged female ticks (≥ 4.5 mm) was counted on the left side of each animal. In this experiment, data were analyzed as the percentage of return (PR = percentage of ticks counted relative to the number infested), transformed to (PR)1/4, using the least squares method with a model that included effects of genetic group (GG), animal within GG (error a), infestation number (I), GG x I, and the residual (error b). In experiment 2, from six to ten cattle tick, horn fly and beef-worm countings on NE (184), CN (153), AN (123) and SN (120) naturally infested females of several physiological states (calves, pregnant and open heifers, primiparous cows with and without a calf and pluriparous cows with and without a calf), from July 2003 to December 2004, were done. In this experiment, data, transformed to log10 (n + 1), were analyzed by the least squares method with a model that included effects of genetic group (GG) of female, animal within GG (error a), year-season of counting (YS), physiological state, and GG x YS interaction. Besides that, genetic parameters of the degree of infestation by the parasites were obtained by the restricted maximum likelihood method, using models that included fixed effects of contemporary group (genetic group, year-season of counting) and physiological state, and additive direct, animal s permanent environmental, and residual random effects. In artificial infestation, despite the GG x I interaction, in general, NE animals were more resistant, followed by CN, and, at last, by SN and AN ones, which showed, respectively, the following percentage of return: 0.35 ± 0.06, 0.54 ± 0.05, 0.89 ± 0.06 and 0.85 ± 0.06. In natural infestation, the difference among genetic groups depended on year-season of counting, however, in general, NE females were less infested by ticks than females of the other genetic groups, while AN females showed higher infestation by horn flies and beef-worm than females of the other genetic groups. Heritability and repeatability estimates based on one-trait analyses were 0.12 and 0.12, 0.30 and 0.30, and 0.04 and 0.12, for infestation by cattle ticks, horn flies and beef-worms, respectively, indicating that it is feasible to obtain genetic progress for infestation by horn flies. The genetic correlations among these traits were low, except that between infestations by horn flies and beef-worms (0.60).

The environment dimension was not considered in the most process of urban and regional planning. The global process understanding and the interconnections between elements and dynamic character of the landscape have to be reached, going beyond this model. The landscape should be understood not across its issues, but by its comprehension of dialectic relation existent between the elements themselves. So, the Maps of Potential Fragility and Environment of Ribeirão Monjolinho Basin, situated in São Carlos SP Brasil, were made and methodological discussed, based in cartographic systemic methodology. This methodology is structured on ecodynamic, based on General Theory of Systems, the most logical instruments used to study the environmental problems itself. Using a Geographic Information System associated to a methodology, was possible to realize the landscape elements evaluation and modeling, in other times only described and analyzed in a qualitative way. The theoretical bases of ecodynamic mapping have fundamental value in the understading of the complex game of natural and antropic forces, helping and incrementing the planner s work in the cartographic and methodological way. This study demonstrated the importance of this methodology to the planners, since it is base don inventory detailed-specific data, but also fundamentally based on methodological theory sanctioned philosophical schools.

The Extractive Reserve was initially created as a handling category proposal around 1989, and in 2000 became a direct use conservation unit with the creation of SNUC (National System of Conservation Units). Since then, it has been possible to observe an increasing rise in the number of conservation units of this category, for whom the handling plan must consider - at first instance human population and its exploitation forms. In regards to this, the present work proposes to give an answer to the question who are the extraction workers of the REM (Marine Extractive Reserve) of Corumbau , aiming at granting and directing the above unit s Handling Plan And Multiple Use restructure. To so proceed, social-economic and fishery aspects of the extraction workers were identified, by means of structured and semi-structured questionnaires and analyses based on Shannon- Wiener diversity, Bray-Curtis dissimilarity indexes, as well as Levins niche breadth and overlap. Gathered socio-economic aspects allowed to verify that REM of Corumbau fisherman is within the standards of Brazilian artisanal fishermen. His profile can be defined as: professionally informal fisherman, male, indigenous color and descent, between 21 and 40 years of age, few school years and fishing as main activity. In what concerns the characterization of fishing occupation, the canoe should be mentioned as the most used form of navigation; the main fishery tackles were lines/hooks, gill nets and harpoons. The Bray-Curtis index allowed the division of fishermen communities into three groups, defined in a similarity decreasing order. Fishery activities diversity values varied from medium to high. Nevertheless, niche measures showed tendencies towards specialization and high overlap, due to the predominance of fishing tackles such as lines/hooks, gill nets and harpoons in all studied communities.

The composition and distribution of fish fauna from streams and creeks of Mogi Guaçu and Corumbataí river basins, at São Paulo State, were studied and compared. A watershed in the boundary of the geomorphological provinces Cuestas Basálticas and Depressão Periférica isolates the drainage systems of Mogi Guaçu and Tietê rivers, from which Corumbataí belongs. The works were focused in collection and identification of fish species from the streams Cabaceiras, Araras, Quilombo and Pântano (tributaries of the Mogi Guaçu River) and from creeks affluent of Corumbataí River, aiming to the realization of an inventory of the ichthyofauna in the region and to verify the similarity and distribution of species, associating them to geological and geographic events that occurred in these river drainages. The species lists of the two drainage systems were compared and particularities of each one were identified. The distribution of these species restricted to one or other drainage is analysed relative to relief. The drainages isolation is considered important factor acting in the occurrence of fish composition particularities in these small rivers. For inventory of species fish were collected in sites distributed in both mountainsides. A total of 16455 fish specimens belonging to 92 species were collected. Other fish species that occur in the study area were added to this preliminary list by the examination of lots deposited in LISDEBE (Laboratório de Ictiologia Sistemática da UFSCar) and from the studies in the Corumbataí River, summing 104 fish species. Eighty-one of these species were registered in affluent of the Mogi Guaçu River basin and 88 in the Corumbataí River. The 104 species are distributed in six orders: Characiformes (52 species), Siluriformes (40 species), Gymnotiformes (3 species), Cyprinodontiformes (2 species), Perciformes (6 species) and Synbranchiformes (1 species). Twenty-one species were restricted to one or another drainage, being 16 of these restricted to the Corumbataí, and five to the tributaries of Mogi Guaçu River. Some of the species that showed restriction in our study area to the Corumbataí River, or in the Tietê basin, are also encountered in the Paranapanema River, as Bryconamericus sp., Astyanax sp., Schizodon intermedius and Loricaria prolixa, and in the Paranaíba River, as Bryconamericus turiuba. Others are restricted to the Tietê River, as Corumbataia cuestae, Corydoras flaveolus, Planaltina glandipedis, Cyphocharax vanderi, Hypoptopomatinae gen. sp., Harttia sp. and Trichomycterus sp. About the species that showed to be restricted to the tributaries of Mogi Guaçu River basin (in our study area), Bunocephalus sp. only occurs in this basin and Corydoras difluviatilis also occurs in the headwaters of the rivers: Grande, São Francisco and Paranaíba, evidencing a shared biogeographical history among these drainages. The recognition of the upper Paraná River basin as a great area of endemism may be reevaluated not only on the strength of the results obtained, which indicate species of restrict distribution to one or another basin of affluent of the upper Paraná River, but chiefly in function of several work actually being developed, which have been demonstrated the existence of smaller areas in this great basin that presents species of restricted distribution. The lower stretches of Corumbataí River and tributaries of Mogi Guaçu River show several common species, including species of small body size and medium to great body size, widely distributed in the upper Paraná River basin, such as Acestrorhynchus lacustris, Piabina argentea, Salminus hilarii, those of the subfamily Cheirodontinae, the species of genus Leporinus, Schizodon nasutus, Prochilodus lineatus, Pimelodus maculatus, the species of genus Hypostomus, among others. Of the inventoried species, Astyanax sp., Bryconamericus sp., Odontostilbe sp., Bunocephalus sp., Hypoptopomatinae gen. sp., Harttia sp., Trichomycterus sp. e Laetacara sp. are probably new to science.

In the recent years, the necessity of ceramic pigments production with new shades and variable distributions of particle size has increased considerably. The color and size of pigment particles are responsible for important applications in the ceramic industries, resins, cosmetics, dyes, plastics and dentistry materials. In this work, nanometric pigments based on iron, nickel and manganese doped Al2O3 (1, 2, 4 and 8 mol% of cations) were prepared using the polymeric precursor method. The powders were calcinated in temperatures ranging from 700 to 1100°C. The γ-Al2O3 and α-Al2O3 crystalline phases obtained at 900 and 1100°C, respectively, were identified by X-ray diffraction. Using the Rietveld Method was possible to quantify the α-Al2O3 solid solution containing Fe3+, Ni2+ and Mn2+. The secondary phases, NiAl2O4 and Mn3O4, increased with the doping concentration of the cations Ni2+ and Mn2+, respectively. Infrared spectroscopy allowed the characterization of the alumina vibrational modes and identification the octahedral and tetrahedral sites of the Al2O3 structure. Nanometric particles, around 10 nm, of iron, nickel and manganese doped Al2O3 obtained at 900°C were observed by transmission electronic microscopy images. The electronic transitions of Fe3+, Ni2+ and Mn2+ were characterized by ultraviolet-visible reflectance spectroscopy. The pigment colors, yellow for iron, blue and green for nickel, and brown and red for manganese were described by Colorimetric analyses using the CIELab colors system. These colors are related with the amount of chromophores in the alumina composition, the powders calcination temperature and the ions occupation sites in the alumina lattice. The obtained nanometric pigments have potential applications in cosmetic and polymers areas.

It is well known that the previous experience to the elevated plus-maze (EPM) increases the avoidance of rodents to the open arms and impairs the anxiolytic-like effect of benzodiazepines in a subsequent exposure to the EPM, a phenomenon known as "one trial tolerance" (OTT). This study investigated the effects of intra-periaqueductal gray matter (PAG) infusions of midazolam (MDZ) in EPM-naïve and EPM-experienced mice. The antiaversive effects of MDZ were also evaluated after prior injection of flumazenil, a benzodiazepine receptor antagonist, into to same midbrain site. Test videotapes were scored for conventional measures of anxiety (% open arm entries and % open arm time) and locomotor activity (frequency of closed arm entries), as well as a range of ethological measures related to risk assessment (e.g. stretch attend postures; head dips, etc). In EPMnaïve mice, intra-PAG infusions of MDZ increased % open arm entries (2.26 nmol) and % open arm time (2.26 and 30 nmol). These effects were observed in the absence of significant changes in locomotor activity, indicating a selective anxiolytic-like effect of MDZ. The antiaversive effects of MDZ were completely blocked by prior injection of flumazenil (16 nmol) into the same midbrain site, and did not alter any behavioral measures per se. In EPMexperienced mice, intra-PAG infusion of MDZ did not modify any behavioral measures. Taken together, present results demonstrates that GABA-benzodiazepine receptor complex located within the PAG plays a role on anxiety modulation in EPM-naïve mice as well as indicates its involvement in the OTT phenomenon.

This study presented cytogenetic analysis of small fishes species collected in the headwaters of Jaguariaíva, Ribeira and, Tibagi rivers. Some of these species have had a comparative cytogenetic population analysis among different basins, while in the others were observed inherent specific problems only in one population. In this work we boarded cytogenetic, cytotoxonomy, biogeographic and evolutive biology aspects of these populations: Corydoras paleatus, Corydoras ehrhardti, Apareiodon sp., Geophagus brasiliensis, Cichlasoma facetum, Astyanax scabripinnis species complex, Astyanax janeiroensis, and Characidium sp. cf. C. gomesi. Here we discussed and presented (a) the sympatric occurrence of C. paleatus and C. ehrhardti from Dourada lagoon, Tibagi basin; (b) a ZZ/ZW sex chromosome system in an undescribed species of the genus Apareiodon in the Verde river, Tibagi basin (c) the karyotypic conservadorism visualized in species and populations of Perciformes, G. brasiliensis and C. facetum, in the Jaguariaíva, Ribeira and Tibagi basins, showing the dispersion of fish species hypotheses among these basins; (d) a comparative cytogenetic analysis of A. scabripinnis species complex, among Jaguariaíva, Ribeira, and Tibagi basins, all of them shared karyotypes with 2n=50 chromosomes but minors differences among them were observed, and we also showed a sympatric cytotype with 2n=48 chromosomes only in the Jaguariaíva basin; (e) the composition, location and nature of heterochromatic sites present in the A. janeiroensis karyotype of Ribeira basin and; (f) a possible sinapomorphic condition in the Characidium species with heteromorphic sex chromosome system. We also discussed the possible faunes interchange in the headwaters regions of Ribeira de Iguape and Tibagi rivers in the Ponta Grossa arc region, beside to the supposed endemic ictiofaune of Jaguariaíva basin. Thus, this study associated cytogenetic data, biogeographic aspects, and evolutive biology of fishes species located in the headwaters of three Paraná State rivers.

Some social skills are crucial to contribute to friendship formation, social support and work satisfaction; moreover, the social skilled behaviors have been identified as a pre requisite for workers with disabilities to have a good performance and to maintain their jobs in the competitive world. The main objective of the present research was to elaborate, to apply and to analyze the effects of a Social Skills Program for Work (PHST) with workers with physical and mental deficiency in natural work situations. The selection of the participants took place after a initial study about the instrument construction on social abilities. The selected workers to participate in this study were one female and two males, with ages ranging from 21 to 36 years old. In order to characterize the selected participants it was used a questionnaire about professional performance and a structured interview. In order to achieve the study objective, a multiple probe design was employed baseline, intervention and probes), being the PHST the independent variable and the quality of performance on social skills was the dependent variable evaluated by the instrument: PRQDHS: Protocol to register the level of performance quality on social skills throughout the experimental design. The results indicated a gradual increase in the performance of social skills, such as: to question if there were things to do; to offer and ask for help; to talk about personal needs. Those aspects were worked with participants and their job colleagues. Since this area is nationally still under investigation, other studies are suggested as well as a training of the job colleagues in the promotion of social repertoires of workers with deficiency

Ferroelectric materials have a vast application in modern industry as data storage devices. Some of this materials, as the ferroelectric oxides class ABO3, have phase transitions with the alteration of of the lattice modifiers concentration ("A"). The aim of this work was to study the tetragonal to cubic phase transition in (Pb,Ca)TiO3 ferroelectric solid solution with a experimental and theoretical view point. The powders and thin films were achieved by the polymeric precursor method and characterized by X ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, capacitance vs voltage and capacitance vs frequency electrical measurements on thin films. The theoretical results were obtained by periodic quantum-mechanical calculations of (Pb,Ca)TiO3 structure in discrete compositions, applying the density functional theory (DFT) for the calculations in CRYSTAL98r code. The comparison of theoretical and experimental results pointed that the solid solution starts from a ferroelectric tetragonal structure to a paraelectric cubic structure with the increase of calcium relative content and, albeit cubic in calcium concentrations above 40%, the perovskite structure conserve a local disorder of titanium atom in the perpendicular direction relative to the unit cell z axis. This local disorder was confirmed by the appearing of characteristics vibrational modes in Raman spectrum of the oxide powders of the higher symmetry. The theoretical results suggest that Ti-O bonds in the oxides posses a great influence in the unit cell electronic densities distribution. The X-ray diffraction profiles of (Pb,Ca)TiO3 reveal that the relative intensities of (hkl) plans of tetragonal structure obeys a first order exponential decay function with the increase of calcium concentration on the PbTiO3 structure. The ferroelectric experiments in thin films show a decrease of relative dielectric permittivity with calcium incorporation due the structural modifications imposed by alkaline cation increase. The thin films displayed formation of space charges, perceived in the degradation of capacitance vs voltage profile in low application frequencies of the reversal electric field.

The application of pattern recognition techniques such as principal component analysis and cluster analysis was evaluated for classification of foods according to their production mode (industrial or homemade and organically or conventionally produced), refine mode or geographical source. The main variables were the mineral contents of samples of coffee (roasted and green), vegetables, legumes, sugar, milk, sugar-cane spirit, beans, and rice. The concentrations of metals were determined by ICP OES or by GF AAS after microwave-assisted digestion or dilution. Other variables, such as nitrate and crude protein contents, were determined in vegetables and legumes samples. Nuclear magnetic resonance of 1H was applied to green coffee and beans to attempt to correlate chemical classes with production mode. Separations were obtained for differentiation between organic and conventional green coffees, and between instant soluble and roasted coffees. Attempts to correlate metals contents with geographical sources for coffee and sugar samples, and metals contents and production mode for vegetables, legumes, milks, sugar cane spirits, and rices were not successful. However, differentiation was observed for lettuces and cachaças based on geographical source, and for sugar samples based on the refine mode. Additionally, differentiation was also observed for lettuce samples based on the production mode, and nitrate was the main variable for differentiation. It was observed a trend towards the classification of beans according to the production mode based on NMR data set, however it is necessary to identify the chemical compounds that led to differentiation. According to these results, pattern recognition analyses were able to differentiate some important features in different samples based on their metals contents. Additionally, taking into account metals contents there was no appreciable difference between organically and conventionally produced foods.

The interface implementation in e-commerce applications must consider two aspects: the privacy necessities of the user and the marketing utilization by the personalization application in services provided by sites in the Web. In this context, there are several mechanisms developed as to accomplish the data gathering as to bring to the user certain privacy level. Sites use since formularies in Web pages until techniques as clickstream, cookies and data mining to obtain information, to analyze them and to accomplish personalization. Current mechanisms for privacy protection are limited in their ability to provide privacy guarantees to data gathered on the Web, and some of them don t allow the data gathering by Web sites. The MASKS system manages the anonymity of its users and allows the implicit collecting of data. It neither provides security in the explicit gathering and nor allows the creation of browsing sessions via grouping of cookies into groups of different interests. Project 3P introduces a mechanism to keep users aware of privacy policies while they navigate Web sites. It adds low reliance to the implicit gathering. Here, we introduce a new system that combines an extension of MASKS system, an extension of P3P and an architecture of privacy certification. This combined system gathers the best qualities of each mechanism, and removes their limitations. The extended MASKS system includes sessions in the masking proxy to enable the creation of browsing sessions. The extended P3P adds information about the user benefits in disclosing his/her data to Web services. The privacy certificates guarantees the accomplishment of the policies stated by sites. Tests with users were carried out in order to compare and to evaluate the advantages of using this newly combined system. The results showed that the combined system provides users navigation with higher reliability. Thus, the implementation of this system proves useful for providing privacy during Web browsing, without impeding data gathering.

This paper describes a study on the evolution of contracts used in transactions between orange producers and the processing industry. Its goal is to analyze changes in contracts signed from 1978 to 2004, and to establish the influence of the institutional environment. Three distinct types of contract were identified in the citric network, all of them related to the orange market: fixed price contracts, standard contracts and post-standard contract contracts. Many changes occurred in this period, the most important of which were associated with the tendency of moving from standard contracts to post-standard-contract contracts. In this research, an analysis was made of specific variables in contractual clauses, and how these parameters depended on the company assets, including building infra-structures, dedicated assets and human resources. In this context, the paper indicates the main changes in the variables and in its causes, according to the institutional and/or strategic environment of the industries. Among those changes, it is possible to emphasize the harvest responsibility and fruit transportation, quality standards required by the processing industry, extended contractual relationships (two harvests or more), price and payment policy.

This work is focused on analising the similarities and differences of the perceptions of sex workers and public health system workers about the educative processes that is within sex work related to the sex workers health. We aim to examinate, in the point of view of both social groups, how the sex worker educates herself and others of her own class exchanging informations in the work group, with the client and with health worker seeking their perceptions about the processes which the sex worker teaches and/or learns health related knowledges, values or attitudes. We will also aim the relationship between health and sex work. This research is based on common sense definition according to Paulo Freire. It has been done with the support of the research methodology related with the participation of sex workers in interviews. Interviews are also done with health workers. We aim to contribute to destroy the stereotypes that keeps the prejudiced image of sex workers and also to help on contructing health politics that take this social group in a citizenship perpective.
