Blown of films is one of the most important processes of polymers for packaging application. The final properties are strongly linked with the morphology developed during the processing. The relationship between process variables, morphology and final properties is extremely complex being strongly related to the rheological behavior of the polymer, principally for blown films. Nanocomposites constitute a new class of materials which present better barrier, mechanical and thermal properties and better performance for greenhouses films, without decreasing the optical properties and the conditions of blown film process, having great potential for packaging applications. Therefore, the aim of this work was to investigate the mixing variables on the blown film process that are most important on the morphology of High Density Polyethylene nanocomposites films and its relationship with mechanical and barriers properties. Two different screws profiles were used. The nanocomposite produced by the configuration was used to produce the blown films. The properties of the films showed a strong improvement compared to the neat polymer films.

The advent of grid computing made possible to access distributed resources, even when they are geographically spread or belong to different organizations. The most used environment for accessing these distributed resources is the Internet, a worldwide computer network based in TCP/IP architecture. Grid computing provides the infrastructure necessary for managing and communicating with the resources offered by different organizations. These organizations are also known as virtual organizations (VO's). Some of the applications used in these collaborating environments may have minimum requirements by quality of service (QoS). However, the "best effort" service, which is offered by Internet, is not capable to satisfy these QoS requirements. In this case, a different solution is needed, in order to provide guarantees related to the traffic in communication channels. This master thesis aims to apply the concepts of quality of service for networks in grid computing, providing end-to-end quality of service between grid computing applications. In order to achieve this goal, we investigate the use of commutation infrastructure provided by MPLS networks. Using traffic engineering mechanisms for routes determination, we aim to provide better control of data flows, improving the performance of distributed applications in geographically highly spread environments.

This work aimed to analyze the process of reformulation/creation of Teaching Courses in Chemistry of public universities of São Paulo to attend the new legislation. It was also observed the engagement of professors and students staffs in this initial forming process, looking at the reflexive paradigm of Donald A. Schön. The gathering of data in this qualitative research consisted in analyzing pedagogical projects and curriculum matrix of courses before and after that reformulation, as well as in interviewing personally coordinators of courses, teachers of the older subject Teaching Practice in Chemistry and Supervised Stage and three students of the conclusion year in nine different courses in the state. It was observed that this process of reformulation/creation occurred with a low involvement of the professors; in addition, in a general way, we can say that exist a strong diverse treatment related to these courses and the teaching occupation, diminishing them if compared to bachelorship course and researching activities. Excepting isolated cases, the professor staff of those courses demonstrates a low preoccupation with his teaching activity as well as to educate his students to become teachers according to the reflexive professional model. The activities of Teaching Practice as a Curriculum Component and Curriculum Stage are not detailed in some pedagogical projects, to the point that some coordinators do not know the nature of these activities or facts, such as, for example, the observing classes as a kind of stage is not relevant as a formative experience in the students opinion. There is a significant detachment among the units that teach the Chemistry and Pedagogical subjects as well as among the University and High School, that injured the forming of Chemistry good teachers. It was noticed to be necessary (and urgent) institutional changes in the direction of requiring that the professors be dedicated in equal responsibility to teaching activity, as occurs concerning to research.

It is presented the development of a liquid chromatography-UV-tandem mass spectrometric method for spiroquinazolinic alkaloids analyses in a variety of matrices where the fungus Eupennicilium sp. was cultivated. Sample preparation was conducted using a solid-phase extraction stratergy. These rare alkaloids were isolated from Eupenicillium sp an endophitic fungi obtained from Murraya paniculata (RUTACEAE). The fungus when cultivated in corn and rice subtracts produces spiroquinazolines alkaloids that exhibit high important activities, mostly analgesic. The structures of these alkaloids are formed by a sequence of amino acids similar to these carbazolic alkaloids produced by Murraya plants, which might explain some aspects of the microrganism-plant interaction. The analytical methodology was used in experiments to determine the amount of these alkaloids produced over cultivativation time. Biogenesis investigation was performed to obtain data useful to increase alkaloid production. Three unprecedented spiroquinazoline alkaloids were identified and characterized using 1D and 2D RMN together with MS and MSMS experiments.

This research presents the application of the Strategic Manufacturing Management Paradigm (SMMP) identification method and the most appropriate SMMP for an organization in the three main footwear areas of the state of São Paulo: Franca, Birigui and Jaú. This method was developed by Godinho Filho e Fernandes (2006a). The research procedure used was survey. Thirty companies were selected using random probabilistic sampling, where 10 of them were interviewed in each studied area. Only 29 companies that composed the sample participated in the research. Based on the identification of the used SMMPs, it was verified that most of the companies didn t have strategic focus, which was elucidated by cases of inconsistency among ends and means. The SMMPs identified in some companies were: Responsive manufacturing and Mass customization. During the identification of the ideal SMMPs, it was observed that most of the companies focused non-coherent objectives due to the turbulence of the market in which they are inserted into. Amongst the SMMPs considered appropriate to some companies, the following could be identified: Responsive Manufacturing/ Mass Customization and Mass Customization/Agile Manufaturing. This dissertation presents contributions for the Production Management literature, by means of the identification of the possible types of strategic integration in an organization, as for the Brazilian shoe factoring market, supplying relevant information for a field that is in crisis, besides motivating new researches on the researched theme.

This work reports the study of a surprising plant microorganism relationship, involving the plant Sapindus saponaria, which is rich in antigungal saponins, and an endophyte fungus isolated from the pericarpe of the fruits collected in the host plant, and identified as Xylaria sp. The main objective of this work was to understand the survival mechanism of this fungus in such inhospitable ambient. It was found that this fungus biotransforms the structure of the saponins present in S. saponaria, making it less toxic, allowing the fungus to survive in the plant tissue. The reaction involved in this survival mechanism was a hidroxilation at ring C of the aglicone skeleton of saponins present in S. saponaria. This study also had as objective the stablishment of a fast method for the isolation and identification of saponins and ASOG (Acyclic Sesquiterpene Oligoglycosides) present in the plant s fruits. For the isolation of these compounds, the Sephadex® LH-20 column showed to be very efficient and the mass spectrometry technique (ESI-MS) was used as a rapid method of identification of this substances. The Xylaria sp. fungus was cultivated in synthetic mediums for the isolation of secondary metabolites. The microorganism showed a great potential for the production of several compounds, especially the isocoumarins. The analytical tools used to monitor all the experiments reported here comprises chromatographic and spectrometric techniques as HPLC, GC, open column chromatography, MS and MS/MS, 1D NMR and 2D NMR. Mechanisms of fragmentation were tentativelly suggested for all compounds studied by mass spectrometry.

Estratégia de marcas próprias: estudo multicaso no atacado brasileiro
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-12-15) Piato, Éderson Luiz; Silva, Andrea Lago da; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1439984077907071
For the past years, wholesaling has been stimulated by a series of changes in its traditional activities. Through a deeper involvement with marketing strategies, wholesaling has included the management of own brands to its activities. However, academic literature s references include mostly inferences about own brands strategies in retailing. Therefore, wholesaling does not have the proper focus to evidence its involvement with own brands strategy. The purpose of this dissertation is to identify and analyze the marketing elements that influence the management of wholesaling own brands, and to evidence advantages and disadvantages that some of the most important Brazilian s wholesalers face when they decide to introduce own brands. First of all, a theory reference is developed, including some issues related to own brands, such as marketing strategies development, description of the main elements of marketing strategy and the development of own brands strategy. During the empirical research, a multi-case study with wholesalers and industries that supply own brands is developed. The aim of the interviews with the wholesalers is to identify the elements of marketing strategy that influence the management of own brands strategies. To do so, managers responsible for own brands in three Brazilian wholesalers are interviewed. The companies were chosen because they concentrate the higher level of own brands development in Brazilian wholesaling. The industries are interviewed to corroborate the process of own brands suppliers selection and evaluation. Managers of two industries, both of them responsible for the supplying agreements with wholesalers, were interviewed. These interviews focused only issues concerning the selection and evaluation process. As a result of the research, it is possible to identify the main elements of marketing that influence wholesalers own brands management, the advantages and disadvantages (or difficulties) of this strategy, as well as to understand the importance of suppliers selection and evaluation process for the effectiveness of own brands strategy. The information allowed the inference of some critical and fundamental elements for the management of own brands strategy in wholesaling. Besides that, the dissertation also contributes for the development of future researches that may consolidate the construction of a broader knowledge about own brands in wholesaling.

The all-purpose of the present paper is to evaluate the hydrological behavior of some real experimental lots of different uses and occupation. For trial, three pilot urban lots were implanted in real scale and measuring 12 (twelve) meters front by 30 (thirty) meters depth each one, reproducing the urban standard characters of coast side of Bertioga / São Paulo. One lot was kept in natural conditions, with no edification; another one got 75% of its area, related to floor and edification, waterproofed, called common lot. The third one, identical to the conventional lot and called sustainable, got two microreservoirs (with total useful volume of 1,5m³) installed on its inside. The lots were grounded elevating their land level on 0,6m, and the lots soil and grounding characterized on their granulometria. The precipitation was continuously recorded, minute by minute, with a pluviograph installed on central lot. The effluent outflows were individually measured with a triangular spillway with fine walls, lab calibrated. The visual analysis of the hydrograms concludes that the convencional lot responds much faster than others, for its greater outflow peeks and smaller ascending time. The presence of micro reservoir on sustainable lot has considerably reduced outflows related to conventional one, with a consequently sensible reduction of outflowing coefficient of superficial outflow average of 0,72 (conventional lot) to 0,10 (sustainable lot). The delay time of conventional lot was mostly third part of sustainable lot s time because of micro reservoirs effect.

This doctoral thesis intends to analyze the main concepts of mental disease and the problematic relation between the organicism and the psychodinamism throughout the history of the psychopathologic ideas that came to constitute the scientific clinical psychiatry, from Philippe Pinel, in the beginning of XIX century, until the chaos of the no theoretical pretense descriptive of the official nosography of the end of XX century and beginning of XXI century (I.C.D.-10). The epistemologic conflict between the psychogenic and organogenic doctrines had resulted in many frustrated attempts of solution. The hermeneuticsynthetic psychopathology of Carl Gustav the Jung (1875-1961) and the phenomenonstructural psychopathology of Eugène Minkowski (1885-1972) stand out among the most promising proposals of XX century. The basic concepts of these authors keep an essential similarity, besides belonging to schools have different thoughts. However, their theorization go in parallel thinking about a psychopathologic formularization psychorganodinamic that is similar in its most essential principles. The antimechanist solution, anti-atomicist and antireductionist, of both, remind the current biological psychiatry that the desired and necessary consensual psychiatric theory will not do without a Metapsychopatology of the psychiatry that consider the irreducible biopsychosocial complexity of the normal or pathological human being. And, neither psychiatry will gain a satisfactory nosographic formularization while they don t reveal the mysteries of the complex etiology of mental disorders.
