listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Atenção à saúde nas pequenas e médias empresas de São José dos Campos: estudos de caso(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2007-06-22) Costa, Denise da Conceição da; Menegon, Nilton Luiz; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5461487552981919; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5929039577875606Building actions related to health and safety in small and medium enterprises are not easy tasks, since these enterprises need to deal with poor information, lack of available resources and methodologies developed according to big company characteristics. Based on Case Studies techniques, the present study investigated in four SME not only the way health and safety interventions are carried on, but the reasons why they are conducted that way as well. This investigation made us conclude that lack of available resources, poor information access, the firm culture and management model exert clear influence on the way Heath and Safety actions are conducted. Ergonomics, if conducted in the small firm, will be guided by perception and based on informality, either for changes or measures of the changes. We can conclude that some rules and laws, as well as ergonomic tools, should be developed according to the limitations and needs of the small and medium firms, and so be used to help improve health and safety into them.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Definição de metodologias para determinação de ferro em sangue de bovinos resistentes e sensíveis a carrapatos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2007-06-22) Pelizaro, Cláudia Bartoli; Nogueira, Ana Rita de Araújo; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7034773971317045; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4325393434731904Different forms of iron had been determined in the blood of animals with resistance and sensitivity to bovine s ticks. The determined variables were: Iron in total, plasma and serum blood, quantified by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS); Fe (II), and Fe (III), quantified by spectrophotometry by flow injection analyses; iron freedom through flow dialysis and quantification by g raphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS); and hematocrit (packed cell volume). The used techniques and the developed methodologies are shown as complementary and adequate for the inquiry of the forms of iron founded in the blood. Blood digestion was not necessary for FAAS total iron determination, avoiding possible contaminations and decreasing the time spending to sample preparation. The Fe(II) and Fe(III) flow injection speciation presented good reproducibility and easy to implement in routine analysis. After freedom iron separation by dialysis membrane, GFAAS allowed the determination of small iron amounts. A statistical study was used for better comparison among the evaluated variables. The t test indicated differences between Canchim and Angus animals resistant and sensible to ticks related to iron amount in the blood s plasma, and in the Fe(III) amount between Angus resistant and sensible animals. In spite of no conclusives, the results indicated a possible tendency related to bovine ticks resistance and iron blood form. With the use of the methodologies defined in the present work, studies with a grater number of animals and small variables could be applied to confirm this hypothesis.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Função de intensidade Poisson perturbada pelo número de ocorrências para dados de eventos recorrentes(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2007-06-22) Caetano, Sabrina Luzia; Louzada Neto, Francisco; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0994050156415890; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2340330162391128listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Sistema FOQuE para expansão semântica de consultas baseada em ontologias difusas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2007-06-22) Yaguinuma, Cristiane Akemi; Biajiz, Mauro; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8331600770992494; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8473904363105984As availability of data from several areas of knowledge grows, it is even more necessary to develop effective techniques to retrieve the desired information, aiming to reduce irrelevant answers and ensure that relevant results are not ignored. Considering this context, we present the FOQuE system, developed to perform query expansion in order to retrieve semantically relevant and broad results. Based on fuzzy ontologies, this system is able to obtain approximate results that satisfy user requirements according to expansion parameters defined by the user. The additional answers retrieved by the FOQuE system are classified according to the semantic expansion performed and the relevance to the query, therefore it is possible to improve results that are presented to the user.
