Item type:Item, Juristas autoritários versus juristas liberais o debate estabelecido no campo jurídico brasileiro 1964-1969(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2007-08-22) ;Lotúmolo, Marinês Bernardinelli ;Martins Filho, João Robertohttps://lattes.cnpq.br/4463972200610019The analysis of the trajectory of the jurists in the period between 1964 and 1969 requires the identification of diverse chains of the same jurists. Three main chains of jurists in this period had been identified the authoritarian, the liberal and the nationalists jurists. For this analysis it took in consideration the position and ideas politicians of each one of the chains. After that, it was searched to identify the trajectory of each one of the groups, in special the observation of the increasing hegemony of the chain of authoritarian jurists, that directly remained in contact with the military governments after April of 1964. While the construction of a new government happened, the performance of the authoritarian jurists became more frequently, permitting a great debate with the idea of the other group of jurists the liberal. The performance of the authoritarian chain occurred in reason much more of the necessity of internal control to the military sphere than in relation to the manifestations of the society.Item type:Item, Desempenho térmico de cobertura verde utilizando a grama Brachiaria humidicola na cidade de São Carlos-SP(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2007-08-22) ;Andrade, Nixon César de ;Roriz, Maurício ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/6355579765506588https://lattes.cnpq.br/4761868369332802This work aims to analyze the thermal behavior of a green roof with the Braquiária grass (Brachiaria humidicola), that reaches 1m height, comparing it with a traditional roof (concrete slab on show). Considering temperature and relative humidity data obtained through field measurements in different months, the thermal performance of the green and traditional roofs was analyzed. The inside and outside temperatures, and inside superficial of two test-cells were analyzed. The outside superficial temperatures were estimated through computation program and the solar radiation data and wind speed, necessaries for the use of this program, were provided by the Water Resource and Applied Ecology Center (CRHEA,) and the Engineering School of São Carlos (EESC), both from the University of São Paulo (USP). The results indicate that, submitted to the local climate, the green roof presents optimum performance, particularly for decreasing the temperatures of external and internal roof surfaces. In the same test-cell it was recently realized a similar research, which used the Esmeralda grass (Zoysia japonica), a short vegetation. Comparing the measurement results for cold and hot periods, it was noticed differences between the thermal performance of the two grasses.Item type:Item, A resolução de anáforas pronominais da língua portuguesa com base no algoritmo de Mitkov(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2007-08-22) ;Chaves, Amanda Rocha ;Rino, Lúcia Helena Machado ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/0315640846525832https://lattes.cnpq.br/0486342889109075One of the problems of natural language processing systems is to assure referential cohesion in a text. This property allows connecting the text constituents and making it readable. We address the anaphoric phenomenon as one of the main factors of referential cohesion. Anaphors depict a reference relationship between two or more text components, and the interpretation of the anaphor is dependent upon the interpretation of its antecedent. This work is limited to pronominal anaphors, thus, to automatic pronoun resolution. Several algorithms have been proposed to this end. They usually involve (1) identifying the anaphoric component; (2) determining the set of its possible antecedents; and (3) identifying and selecting the most likely antecedent of the anaphor. The lack of anaphora resolution in, e.g., information extraction and automatic translation or summarization may yield non-cohesive texts. Herein we present an adaptation of the Mitkov´s algorithm for pronoun resolution. 3rd person pronouns for Brazilian Portuguese are especially addressed, whose antecedents are noun phrases. This approach has been intrinsically evaluated on annotated corpora. It has also been compared with Lappin and Leass algorithm for pronoun resolution, adapted to Portuguese. Annotations embed morphological, syntactic and co-referential information. The evaluation measure adopted was the success rate. This is defined as the ratio between the number of anaphors correctly resolved by the system and the total number of anaphors in the text. The results of both evaluations are discussed here.Item type:Item, Política e internet : o governo eletrônico da Prefeitura de São Paulo (2001-2006).(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2007-08-22) ;Tonhati, Tânia Mara Passarelli ;Azevedo, Fernando Antonio Farias dehttps://lattes.cnpq.br/5459428002829264This dissertation provides a reflexion about the use of the Communication and Information Technologies (CIT s), particularly, the Internet, by São Paulo city s government. In order to achieve this, we have used, as empirical corpus, the analysis of São Paulo s electronic government politics from 2001 to 2006, we also emphasized both elements which are included in this politics: the City Hall Portal and the Digital Inclusion Plan. This way, we intend to comprehend how and in which extension this politics integrates the city s government with the actual installation demands of a new management model, which, in its turns, is defined by the Market principles. It is also important to understand how São Paulo s city government intends to enlarge citizens participation in the public management. With the aim to measure these elements, this research is based on five participation degrees, called digital democratic degrees. To reinforce this investigation, we have studied documents (such as laws, decrees, bylaws and communications), interviewed people responsible for the electronic government politics in the designated period, and we have evaluated the City Hall Portal as well as the users of the telecentres, idealized by the Digital Inclusion Plan.Item type:Item, Estudo das reuniões de coordenação da produção em obras(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2007-08-23) ;Haka, Osmar Roberto ;Serra, Sheyla Mara Baptista ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8528385567782505https://lattes.cnpq.br/5713242578306999This work presents an exploratory study on the coordinating meetings, in the stage of production of the Civil Engineering in the subsector constructions, classifying the different forms of management, raising the ways of communication and identifying which are the fiscalized elements. Some case studies based on Aspecting was performed and it inferred that the reduction of efforts could be observed if computational support had been created previously and used. The List of Indications (of aspects) originally specified in Aspecting used lexical analysis for identification of crosscutting concerns found in Java code. Therefore, an Indication Model was presented in this paper in order to perform identification of crosscutting concerns in legacy code by syntactic analysis, using AST (Abstract Syntax Tree) and reorganization of Java code to AspectJ. The resulting system has enhancements in its internal structure, due to the separation of crosscutting concerns and elimination of problems related to scattering and tangling of code, observing better modularization, legibility and maintenance of system. A computational support that automates some of guidelines of system reengineering makes this migration process possible. Thus computational support called ReJAsp (apoio computacional para Reengenharia de sistemas Java para AspectJ) was built as plug-in of Integrated Development Environment Eclipse. The evaluation of ReJAsp was performed as case studies using systems written in Java, one of them found at Internet and others developed by students of computer science course of UFSCar.Item type:Item, Escalonamento de aplicações paralelas: de clusters para grids(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2007-08-24) ;Jacinto, Daniele Santini ;Guardia, Hélio Crestana ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1780902767520967https://lattes.cnpq.br/4978298159144069Different algorithms provide efficient scheduling of parallel applications on distributed and heterogeneous computational platforms, such as computational grids. Most scheduling algorithms for such environments require an application model represented by a directed acyclic graph (DAG), selecting tasks for execution according to their processing and communication characteristics. The obtainment of DAGs for real applications, however, is not a simple quest. The required knowledge about the application tasks and the communication among them, considering existing transmission cycles, harden the elaboration of appropriate graphs. Particularly, MPI programs, that represent a meaningful portion of existing parallel applications, usually present a cyclic communication model among the master and the processing nodes. This behavior prevents most scheduling algorithms to be employed as they recursively traverse the graphs to prioritize the tasks. In this sense, this work presents a mechanism for the automatic creation of DAGs for real MPI application originally developed for homogeneous clusters. In order to do so, applications go through a monitored execution in a cluster and the collected data are used for the elaboration of an appropriate DAGs. Data dependencies are identified and existing cycles among the tasks are eliminated. The HEFT scheduling algorithm is used to evaluate the application model and the schedule obtained is then automatically converted into an RSL (Resource Specification Language) file for execution in a grid with Globus. Results from running real applications and simulations show using the grid can be advantageous.Item type:Item, Estabilidade em edifícios de concreto armado com pavimentos em lajes planas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2007-08-24) ;Cicolin, Luiz Antonio Betin ;Figueiredo Filho, Jasson Rodrigues dehttps://lattes.cnpq.br/0732866094426766This present work covers possible manners of evaluating steel concrete frames designed for multiple flooring buildings as far as instability and necessity of second order efforts are concerned. Starting from single floor projects with simple flat slab frame, models with different numbers of floors are considered. The models do not use large rigidity elements such as staircases and lift shafts. The modeling used in this piece adopts simplified criteria for vertical action dimensioning, forming frames with flat slab layers taken as low height beams. These models are evaluated. Based on the results, the work analyzes the application validity of criteria to dismiss consideration of the NBR6118:2003 code presented second order global effort, and compares this against the P-∆ process utilization. Results both with and without inverted beams at the periphery are compared.Item type:Item, Desenvolvimento de eletrodo modificado com filme de poli(1-aminoantraceno) para determinação de dopamina em formulação farmacêutica(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2007-08-24) ;Troiani, Estela de Pieri ;Faria, Ronaldo Censi ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8659496864305621https://lattes.cnpq.br/9076749540281154The aim of this work was to study the electrochemical response of the electrode modified with poly(1-aminoanthracene) (PAA) for dopamine (DA) determination by means of cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry measurements. The PAA were electropolymerized on platinum electrodes and conducting glass ITO, by cyclic voltammetry in a solution of 0.01 mol L-1 1- aminoanthracene and 0.1 mol L-1 tetrabutylammonium perchlorate (TBAP) or 0.1 mol L-1 lithium perchlorate (LiClO4) in acetonitrile medium, being that the best results for DA determination was obtained with Pt/PAA electrode prepared with TBAP. The parameters applied in differential pulse voltammetry were a = 0.1 V, Ei = 0.002 V and ν = 0.002 V s-1. The solution used for DA determination was phosphate buffer solution pH 6.0. The method was applied to determine DA. The system showed a good response for DA when a conditional potential of -0.7 V was applying for 3 s before the cyclic voltammetry. With this pre-treatment the PAA electrode presented a permselective response for DA with no interference of ascorbic acid (AA). The system was available for DA determination by means of differential pulse voltammetry and detection and quantification limits of 4.64 μmol L-1 and 15.4 μmol L-1, respectively, were obtained. A recovery of 99.7-104% was found. The precision of the method was checked by performing ten successive measurements of a 5.0x10-4 mol L-1 DA solution and a relative standard deviation (RSD) of 1.2% were achieved. The analysis of the morphology of PAA film by SEM and FEG showed a flat structure indicating a compact and smooth film. By AFM the film morphology presented small spherical structures with maximum height of about 18 nm indicating that the film is nanostructured. The electrode stored dry presented biggest life-time and better analytical response. In the present study, the PAA electrode showed as a very interesting system for DA determination in pharmaceutical formulation with no interference of AA.Item type:Item, Educação de jovens e adultos : palavras de mulheres a respeito do processo de escolarização.(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2007-08-27) ;Manzato, Carolina Rodrigues ;Reyes, Cláudia Raimundohttps://lattes.cnpq.br/2522868599367468The study approached some women s reintegration to the school environment, students from the Municipal Program of Youngsters and Adults Education in São José do Rio Preto, with the aim of understanding their reasons and objectives in the process. In order to do so, the following goals were established: comprehending their first school experiences to identify the factors responsible for the interruption (or privation) of their learning process, and the implications of these factors in the women s comming back to school; understanding the reasons why women with little or no education look for the school environment; identifying the kinds of learning offered by the school and investigating if they had implications in these women s practical lives; discovering if the women are satisfied (in case their lives have been changed by the learning process) and if they noticed the changes or not. This research s main questions: the education of youngsters and adults EJA, initial reading instructions and critical education, and the role destined to women throughout history, were accompanied by theoretical support of authors such as Paulo Freire, Sérgio Haddad, Maria Clara Di Pierro, Ana Maria Freire, Henry Giroux, Cláudia Viana, Joan Scot, among others. Data collection was carried out by means of semi-structured interviews with six learners, 41-58 years old. Data analysis was based upon Paulo Freire s theory, including the categories of oppression, marginalization, conscientiousness, autonomy, among others. We can previously and primarily stand out these women s courage, they still fight to restore rights that have been historically taken from them.Item type:Item, Educação física, educação ambiental e educação infantil no contexto escolar : uma sinergia possível(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2007-08-27) ;Rodrigues, Cae ;Freitas, Denise dehttps://lattes.cnpq.br/6159440346233422The pursuit for synergies between physical education and environmental education in elementary education stems from two main characteristics of contemporary life, namely the environmental crisis on the one hand, and the valorization of body culture, human movement, and ludic experiences in children development, on the other hand. The contemporary environmental crisis is substantiated by a disintegrated relationship between society and nature, precipitated by a fragmented awareness of the world that privileges human values and desires over nature. Once ensuing from this simplistic world view, that disregards a wealth of potential learning relationships, conventional environmental education has usually been uncritical and conservative. In order to meet a relentless human quest for a more meaningful societal life, for being-ones-with-the-others , for being more , a new education must be sought, one that comes to contend the bases of conservatism, a challenging education, set on liberty and aimed at intervening to change. To consider an environmental education that underscores the principles of a democratic education presupposes working with contents that are significant to the student, stressing the relevance of experience, of attitudes and values - all genuine marks of Freire s pedagogy. In elementary education, focus of this study, significant apprenticeship is proposed to be based on essential elements present in children s universe, such as movement, ludic experiences and the development of body culture. All these elements are present in the contents and pedagogic objectives of physical education. Hence, it is possible to define as objectives of this study: (i) to ascertain and ascribe the effective role of physical education in elementary education, (ii) seeking to promote children s environmental awareness. This research, which applies a typically qualitative approach, was carried out on the basis of a critical bibliographical review on the philosophical, pedagogical and methodological knowledge about the synergies between physical education and environmental education, emphasizing the potentialities of their relationships as concepts for understanding and proposing improved approaches regarding the building up of environmental awareness in childhood.Item type:Item, Realidade psíquica e inconsciente em Freud e em Bérgson : considerações a partir de uma filosofia da ação(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2007-08-27) ;Cossu Junior, Franco ;Simanke, Richard Theisen ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5431145327759147https://lattes.cnpq.br/8871513367560163Although both the Bergsonian philosophy and the Freudian metapsychology have been not properly considered, in the last decades, regarding an ample debate about the nature of the mind, it is about two recent speeches that might contribute significantly to the new theoretical-practical outlines in the contemporary philosophy and sciences that examine the mind. Both thoughts show the unconscious as something without what the psychic events could not be understood entirely, which demands total attention of any future scientific paradigm that intends to establish itself over the psychic phenomena. The key to this enterprise we find in the concept of Action, openly in Bergson, but also clearly in Freud who never withheld himself to understand the human in their constant relationship to the world around. It is not about the fusion of two speeches in the name of a new psychoanalysis , which inevitably might cause several epistemologic problems, but, chiefly, about the possibility to verify how much we can learn with the thesis about the mind that emerge from the both theories.Item type:Item, Perovskitas La1-xSrxMnO3, suportadas em alumina e zircônia, aplicadas à combustão do metano(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2007-08-28) ;Santos, Lidiane Faria ;Assaf, José Mansur ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/9563312407691130https://lattes.cnpq.br/6141017395528482The total oxidation of the methane is an important environmental and industrial reaction, mainly because it is extensively used in energy production and in the control of gases emission to the atmosphere. With catalysts, the methane combustion is available at lower temperatures, thus decreasing the emission of NOx, a gas of green house harmful to human health. Perovskite-type oxides of the series La1-xSrxMnO3 (x = 0, 0,3 e 0,5) supported on γ-Al2O3 and ZrO2 were prepared and characterized for application in methane oxidation. The samples were prepared by co-precipitation and depositionprecipitation methods, using aqueous solutions of metals nitrates and urea as precipitant agent. Each catalysts were calcined in two steps: first at 600 ºC for 5 hours and later in one of these conditions: 700 ºC/10 h, 800 ºC/10 h or 900 ºC/10 h. Chemical analysis, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Specific Surface Area (BET), Temperature Programmed Reduction (TPR) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) were applied to characterize the samples. The XRD spectra showed that the crystalline structures of the unsupported La1-xSrxMnO3 perovskite were best defined with the increase of the calcination temperature. On the other hand, in the supported samples the complete visualization of the XRD spectra was difficult, being the perovskite structure just confirmed by the presence of its more intense peak. As La3+ and Sr2+ do not reduce at the experimental conditions applied in this work, all the peaks showed in TPR analysis corresponding to reduction of the species Mnn+. The influence of the calcination temperature can also be observed in the variation of the specific surface area of the catalysts. The catalytic essays showed that the compounds are actives at relatively low temperature. The supported catalysts presented higher activity than the unsupported ones and the calcined at lower temperature showed more satisfactory catalytic activities. The substitution of La by Sr increased significantly the catalytic activity of the studied systemsItem type:Item, Procedimentos para o processo de planejamento da construção : estudo de caso, São Carlos, Estado de São Paulo.(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2007-08-28) ;Moraes, Rosa Maria de Mattos ;Serra, Sheyla Mara Baptistahttps://lattes.cnpq.br/8528385567782505The competitiveness at the civil construction companies segment depends on the management efficient of its planning and execution control systems. Through this new technology is possible that Supply Chain members exchange informations in real time about stock, replace request, location of the products, and business strategy. However, the Radio Frequency Identification do not considered by software reuse and component-based development processes. In this sense, the Domain Engineering presents one solution to collecting, organizing, and storing past experience in building news systems used to reduce costs in RFID-based software development. Thus, this work presents an Domain Engineering Process based on a well defined set of guidelines and steps to RFID-based software engineering Systems in Supply Chain. We showed as results three Domain Engineering phases and one study case of the Supermarket Supply Chain.Item type:Item, Aprendizado supervisionado incremental de redes bayesianas para mineração de dados(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2007-08-29) ;Yoshida, Murilo Lacerda ;Hruschka Júnior, Estevam Rafael ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/2097340857065853https://lattes.cnpq.br/5724332859332178The objective of this work is to introduce two algorithms for supervised Bayesian network incremental learning, AIP (Algorithm for simple Bayesian network numerical parameters supervised incremental learning) and ABC (Algorithm for Bayesian network supervised incremental learning in layers). In order to develop these algorithms we studied relevant works about the Bayesian networks concepts, the algorithms for supervised Bayesian network learning and the algorithms for incremental supervised Bayesian network learning. To improve the performance of the ABC algorithm, we studied the AD-Tree structure and implemented it on the algorithm. To measure the quality of the networks learned by the algorithms we used these networks learnt to classify a test set, resulting in the correct classification rate (ICC). To do that we studied the test set classification process and the propagation of evidences along the Bayesian network. The result of the studies is described on this work, along with the results and discussions about the experiments made with the introduced algorithms.Item type:Item, Filtragem de projeções tomográficas da ciência do solo utilizando Kalman e redes neurais(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2007-08-29) ;Laia, Marcos Antonio de Matos ;Cruvinel, Paulo Estevão ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7924553462118511https://lattes.cnpq.br/7114274011978868This work presents the space variant noise filtering of tomographic projections based on the Kalman filter. For development and filter selection it was evaluated different modalities of the Kalman filter, as well as included the use of Ascombe transform and neural network. Results were analyzed by means of Improvement in Signal to Noise Ratio (ISNR) measurements, which were obtained in a region of interest (ROI) on the resultant images, reconstructed with the use of a backprojection algorithm. In this context the results qualified the unscented Kalman filter with a neural network as the best configuration for filtering of soil tomographic projections.Item type:Item, Processamento da rede neocognitron para reconhecimento facial em ambiente de alto desempenho GPU(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2007-08-30) ;Silva, Gustavo Poli Lameirão da ;Saito, José Hiroki ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7065615446493390https://lattes.cnpq.br/2857602364684106This work presents an implementation of the Neocognitron Neural Network, using a high performance computing architecture based on GPU (Graphics Processing Unit). Neocognitron is an artificial neural network, proposed by Fukushima and collaborators, constituted of several hierarchical stages of neuron layers, organized in two-dimensional matrices called cellular plains. For the high performance computation of Face Recognition application using Neocognitron it was used CUDA (Compute Unified Device Architecture) as API (Application Programming Interface) between the CPU and the GPU, from GeForce 8800 GTX of NVIDIA company, with 128 ALU s. As face image databases it was used a face database created at UFSCar, and the CMU-PIE (Carnegie Melon University - Pose, Illumination, and Expression) database. The load balancing through the parallel processing architecture was obtained by means of the distributed processing of the cellular connections as threads organized in blocks, following the CUDA philosophy of development. The results showed the viability of this type of device as a massively parallel data processing tool, and that smaller the granularity of the parallel processing, and the independence of the processing, better is its performance.Item type:Item, Determinação e fracionamento de bário em castanha-do- Pará(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2007-08-30) ;Gonçalves, Alexandra Mary ;Nóbrega, Joaquim de Araújo ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8833989058164529https://lattes.cnpq.br/1292148611034352In this work it was studied the determination and fractionation of barium in Brazil nuts employing several strategies for sample preparation and spectroanalytical techniques, i.e. graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS) and inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry with axial view (ICP OES). Brazil nuts is a widely consummed food due to its nutritional value and good taste. The chemical analysis of Brazil nuts is not trivial due to its complex matrix. The fractionation of barium in Brazil nuts was studied owing to the toxicity of this element and the strong correlation between chemical form and absorption. The total content of barium varied from 860 to 2084 mg/kg. Sequential extractions were performed based on solubility in different media and also lipids, proteins and low molecular weight fractions (LMW). Barium was determined in all extracts by ICP OES. The highest contents of barium were determined in the LMW and insoluble fractions with 778 to 1606 and 551 to 1520 mg/kg, respectively. As expected, these results indicate the unavailability of this element in this food for humans. Based on the contents of barium and sulfur in different fractions and stoichiometric calculations it was possible to infer that barium occurs in the BaSO4 form. The presence of this chemical form was also confirmed by thermogravimetric experiments.Item type:Item, Análise da estabilidade de estruturas pré-moldadas de concreto: influência das ligações semi-rígidas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2007-08-30) ;Jeremias Júnior, Antônio Carlos ;Ferreira, Marcelo de Araújo ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4199122391532470https://lattes.cnpq.br/8002545890872886This research comprehends a study of the analysis procedures of the global stability in precast concrete structures, considering the effect of the semi-rigid connections. A Look over in the standards and directives of the precast structures project was necessary specifically on the procedures of global stability verification, recommended by the NBR 6118. Besides, it was looked to identify particular situations where the analysis of the precast concrete structures differentiates of the analysis of the structures cast in place. Such discussion is relevant at the moment of the publication of the new NBR 9062, where the effect of the behavior of the beam-to-column connections must be considered in the analysis of the global stability. In the carried through studies, the frame action proportionate by the bending moment resistant beam-to-column connections is a efficient method of bracing of the structure since that the interdependence of some factors is analyzed as the number of the floors, the stiffness and the cracking of columns and the beams and the fixity factor αR. Finally, examples of numerical application are presented with intention to guide the designer of precast concrete structures in the analysis of structures with semi-rigid connections.
