The main concern of this work is related to the development of an aggregate production planning model of a cooperative society of sugar and alcohol milling companies. This mathematical model is based on a hierarquical approach between the annual planning problem of the cooperative and the tactical planning horizon of the sugarcane mills. In the cooperative level the main questions are related to the allocation of production goals to each mill and the management of inventory and dynamic demands. In the milling companies level a process selection model aims at helping the decision makers to determine the quantity of sugarcane crushed, the selection of sugarcane suppliers, the selection of sugarcane transport system suppliers, the selection of industrial process used in the sugar, alcohol, molasses and energy production. Besides that, this work presents an analysis of the impact of uncertainties in the aggregate planning problem parameters, using robust optimization techniques. To solve the linear and mixed integer mathematical problem found in this modeling, we applied a state of the art modelling language with an optimization solver. A case study was developed in a cooperative of sugar and alcohol milling companies located in the state of Alagoas- Brazil and at Santa Clotilde mill, located in the city of Rio Largo-AL. The results of this case study helped us to verify the applicability of the proposed models in the aggregate production planning of the studied organizations. Computational results are presented and analyzed with real data application.

Ecologia reprodutiva de Sterna hirundinacea Lesson, 1831 e Thalasseus sandvicensis (Lathan, 1787) (Aves, Sternidae) na ilha dos Cardos, Santa Catarina, Brasil
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2009-04-24) Fracasso, Hélio Augusto Alves; Verani, José Roberto; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0053232138684810; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6981162649888529
Despite being widely distributed in South America, the South American Terns (Tierra del Fuego to Bahia and all around the Pacific coast to Peru), and Cayenne Terns, (from the Caribbean Islands to the region of Deseado Port), and having relatively large populations, little is known about the ecology of these species in the Neotropical region. The present study is a contribution to the knowledge of the reproduction and trophic ecology aspects. Samples were taken daily on the Cardos island, SC, Brazil, along 2003, 2005, from 2006 to 2008, aiming to characterize the reproductive ecology of these species. The season of 2003 began with the arrival of the first adults in mid-May, and in 2005 and 2006 occurred in late April, with the departure of adults in early October. 2486 nests of S. hirundinacea were recorded in 2005 to 1,852 in 2006, with average clutch size ranged from 1.45 in 2006 to 1.19 in 2003 and the hatching success in 2006 was estimated at 82.16%. While for Thalasseus sandvicensis in 2003, it took on average 23.5±0.2 days for the hatching of chicks, and success of 83.33%. Was recorded 6,248, 5,140 and 4,006 preys transported by S. hirundinacea and 1157, 628 and 98 by Thalasseus sandvicensis for the colony during seasons of 2003, 2005 and 2006, respectively. The delivery of food to the chicks occurred since the early hours of the morning until late afternoon. The first chicks hatched in July 2003 and June 2005 and 2006, with reproductive success for S. hirundinacea of 50.94%, 35.96 and 53.47%, and Thalasseus sandvicensis of 48.00, 29.94 and 5.00%, respectively. The highest growth rate for S. hirundinacea occurred in the first 20 days of life with small increments until the flight and subsequent abandonment of the island around 46 days in 2003, 45 in 2005 and 42 in 2006. The small size of the island, the human low pressure and little activity of the gull (Larus dominicanus), considered the main predator on the Brazilian coast, during the egg laying period, allowed the regular occupation, making it an important site for the conservation of these species.

The rubber industry is a sector that contributes significantly with the national economy due to the fact that it is part of a wide range of products. Therefore, we verified the need of a terminological systematization in this field. Based on this fact, our objective is to elaborate a monolingual vocabulary (glossary) of rubber goods in the automotive sector, with English equivalences. This paper is supported by the Communicative Terminology Theory proposed by Maria Tereza Cabré. Under a communicative perspective, the methodology of this research contemplated the compilation of a corpus as well as the utilization of a computer tool, the Unitex, in order to manage the texts that make part of this corpus. We extracted words (semi automatically) which we considered a term candidate, inserted them in the ontology, elaborated and filled out the terminology forms which were used as a term dossier; elaborated a text definition basis which was constantly fed with new information and sequentially we wrote the definitions. The definition texts of the rubber vocabulary (glossary) are based on the researches at Terminology Group Studies department GETerm. The microstructure - headword - contemplates systematic (obligatory) and asystematic (non obligatory) information that facilitates the peoples use. Concerning the vocabulary/ glossary microstructure we followed the TERMICAT s (1990) proposal, which aims the specialized communication.

The exposure of animals to aversive situations, such as elevated plus-maze (EPM), activates serotonergic pathways with projections into structures involved in the defense system, such as the amygdala, septum, hypothalamus, hippocampus and periaqueductal grey matter (PAG), producing behavioral changes that can be characterized as anxiety. However the serotonin (5-HT) presents a dual role in this modulation. Thus, while the stimulation of the receptor subtype 5-HT1A and 5-HT2 prosencephalic in structures such as amygdala and hippocampus result in potentiation of responses of anxiety in rodents, the activation of these receptors in the PAG, often tends to reduce behaviors related to anxiety . This study focused the role of 5-HT3 receptors in the PAG in the anxiety in the mice EPM test. In experiments 1 and 2, mice received infusions intra-PAG of ondansetron (0, 0.3, 1.0, 3.0 nmol/0.1 μL) and mCPBG (0, 40, 80 and 160 nmol/0.1 μL), 5-HT3 receptors antagonist and agonist, respectively. As the mCPBG not changed any of the conventional indices (% open-arm entries and % open-arm time) and risk assessment, we investigated in experiment 3 the possibility of interaction between 5-HT3 and 5-HT2 receptors. For this, we perform combined microinfusions of intra-PAG ondansetron and mCPP, an agonist of 5-HT2B/2C receptors, on behavior of maze-naïve mice. The results showed that intra-PAG infusions of ondansetron (3.0 nmol) increased the behavioral indices of anxiety. None of the doses of intra-PAG infusions of mCPBG modified the conventional and ethological indices of anxiety. The anxiolytic-like effect produced by intra-PAG infusions of mCPP (0.03 nmol) was blocked by infusions of ondansetron (1.0 nmol) in the same mesencephalic structure. All effects were observed in the absence of significant changes in locomotor activity (closed-arm entries). Our results indicate that there is a possible interaction between 5-HT3 and 5-HT2B/2C receptors modulation into the PAG of anxiety in mice.
