Item type:Item, Estudantes moçambicanos em Belo Horizonte: uma discussão sobre a construção identitária e de redes de sociabilidade(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-10-20) ;Ngomane, Yara Neusa ;Machado, Igor José de Renó ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4705450652848752https://lattes.cnpq.br/7234441229568980The paper shows how identity processes are built for Mozambican students established in Belo Horizonte - arriving through agreements between governments and higher institutions of both countries - and how are woven their social networks. To this end, these students were observed as they related to each other, with Brazilians and Africans of other nationalities in their daily life. Through the fieldwork was noted in this migration, family networks and kinship being re-built. Likewise, through stories of prejudice and exoticism about the way of being and living of these individuals, their phenotype and behavior, it was perceived as ethnic and race relations were taking place and these students were transformed into Brazilian territory. Thus, throughout the dissertation refers to the concepts of ethnicity, race, nationality, kinship and social networks because they are interwoven to show a better understanding of the presence of Mozambican students in Brazil.Item type:Item, Uso de "ecotécnicas" no manejo de águas pluviais em meio urbano: uma abordagem crítica(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-10-21) ;Silva, Eduardo Araujo ;Silva, Ricardo Siloto da ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5346985934880710https://lattes.cnpq.br/5330738759062637The environmental situation of the cities, especially the larger ones, presents serious problems arising from human's inability to meet the demands of the agglomerations as they are settled, generating environments with low conditions of habitability. The supremacy of economic interests on natural ecosystems has established a complex network of impacts in raising resources to build the cities, from the extraction of material to the issuance of its final waste. In the last decades, several issues have been presented, many of them referring to urban systems, however, in spite of all the discussion related to preservation and restoration of ecosystems, there are still few transformations to be seen in the cities. This work aims to identify possible confrontations for this panorama, facing both the needs to meet demands for urban infrastructure and to preserve the environment by broadening the debate about implementation of solutions that comply characteristics and cycles of the territory, as well as increasing environmental quality to conviviality. Emphasis was given to the systems of rainwater management, since its inadequacies or shortcomings have been causing crescent collapses, with catastrophic consequences and severe damage to the affected populations. From reviewing some specific literature to this theme, such as Natural Engineering and Bioengineering of Soils, the concept of Urban Ecotechnique was defined, in which 8 variables have been outlined to analyze the application of 28 building techniques related to rainwater management systems, in order to evaluate the degree of service in qualitative sense. Finally, it has been done a discussion of the results from the interpolation of the information collected in an array, where the 28 techniques were crossed with the 8 variables, in an attempt to synthesize and better illustrate the result of the research process. It was noted that, in addition to the different degrees of service and readings generated, the association in chain of Ecotechniques and the cultural transformation of society can be guiding parameters of new attitudes to overcome the current situation. It was then concluded that the employment of Ecotechniques has been shown as a viable way of allying the resolution of urban environmental issues to the promotion of a cultural transformation that integrates people to the built environment, in a complete and natural way.Item type:Item, Perfil epidemiológico e fatores associados ao óbito por tuberculose no Departamento Regional de Saúde III do estado de São Paulo (2006-2008)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-10-22) ;Yamamura, Mellina ;Figueiredo, Rosely Moralez de ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/2597491235073085https://lattes.cnpq.br/6221450513629923The area of the Regional Department of Health (DRS) III has been demonstrating that it possesses good indicators of life quality, besides a number of establishments of health that you/they overcome the average of the state. However, studies demonstrate that the reality of control of TB is far away from the established rates for the organs of health. The death for TB should be a rare event, some authorities of health have been recommending the establishment of a surveillance that qualifies the information through the verification of the death, using methods that identify diagnosis mistakes, what really appears not just for the characteristics of the lethality as a quality indicator and of the treatment opportunity, but it goes much beyond, with the observation of deaths non included previously. It was aimed at to characterize the epidemic profile of the cases of TB that you/they developed for death registered in DRS III of the state of São Paulo, in the period from 2006 to 2008. It was treated of a quantitative and descriptive exploratory study, in which the information of the database were used TBWeb and YES. In the YES, it was used CID regarding the definition of TB, that you/they are the classifications of A15.0 to A19.9. After the individual collection of each bank, the information were confronted for the possible identification of cases subnotificados or sub detected. The characterization of the profile epidemic of the cases of TBWeb identified that, of the 640 cases notified in the period, 22 developed for death, being these 82% of the masculine sex; the predominant age group was of 30-59 years, but with occurrences also among the ends of age, only that in smaller frequency; education from 4 to 7 years of studies; defined occupation as others e not specified in the system; it forms lung clinic in 95% of the cases; in discovery type, 45% happened in the service of Emergency, and the comorbidade alcoholism appeared in 45% of the cases. In the YES, they were identified 34 death declarations that contained as basic cause one of CID with definition of TB and similar occurrence was observed: the masculine sex presents larger acometimento (73,5%), with age group between 30 and 59 years and 91% of the deaths for TB happened in the hospitalar. In the confrontment of the data, he/she identified only 22 cases in common, and 11 were notified in TBWeb, but they were not in the YES and 12 were in the YES, but they consisted in TBWeb. This way, the total of deaths for TB of the area was of 45 cases. The analysis of the systems of information YES and TBWeb identified inconsistency of data pointing flaws in the completion of the same ones. The information disponibilizeds indicate the need of better qualification of the same ones, what can feel through the involved professionals' larger training, as well as for the establishment of periodic confrontments of data in search of possible mistakes. Although they are clear the limitations of the research, imposed partially by the quality of the data, the study made possible to know the profile of the population more reached by the disease and your possible tendencies. It is done necessary also to detach that these information cannot be considered in real time, because although the systems are on-line, it is observed that there is still delay in the flow of the information.Item type:Item, Da filantropia à responsabilidade social(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-10-22) ;Assis, Karina Gomes de ;Grün, Roberto ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/6028266827740491https://lattes.cnpq.br/4058077286734344In this work, from a case study approach, we discuss social responsibility from the idea of philanthropy. Analyzing the Brazilian subsidiary of a north-american cosmetics company whose disclosures says their social actions began in the nineteenth century, we point out and discuss the changes in the forms of involvement with society and how it deals with the issue of social responsibility. We addressed the most significant changes the behavior of the company in social issues and the kind of engagement with actors outside the firm. Therefore, we performed the analysis of the material of the company and its social projects, interviews with people involved in these projects and a literature search on the topics addressed. The results show a change in the treatment of social issues by the company and the importance of emotion in marketing the company and its social responsibility programs for customers and resellers of the brand, while for the market the use of this emotion is justified in a ' more rational ' manner. It became apparent even to the insertion of new actors in the framework of responsibility and commitment: government agencies, resellers, customers, non-governmental organizations are being included in the context of responsibility, making the idea of social responsibility be seen as a joint and not an individual attitude of the company.Item type:Item, Constituição e sociedade: uma análise sobre a (re)formulação da arquitetura do Estado-Nação na Assembleia Nacional Constituinte de 1933(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-10-22) ;Cabral, Rafael Lamera ;Cepêda, Vera Alves ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4917331423373631https://lattes.cnpq.br/8035594335420500The objective of this research was to examine, within the platform for social change that is promoted by the Revolution of 1930 until reconstitucionalização the country with the National Constituent Assembly - NCA in 1933, the themes (i) federalism, (ii) regulation work and (iii) class representation were incorporated, through the political disputes, when it was projected to be (re) formulation in the architecture of the Brazilian Nation-State. The constitutional process performed showed the presence of the state politics (through the issues and social work) and Law (in its formatting in the legal framework Law of State) would be critical to the passage of modernity in Brazil. This constitution would be the first of the historic constitutional political and legal thinking about the modern Brazilian and both had important characteristics, because it gave voice to political and social actors in the ANC (the recruitment election result was a generalization multiplied in their representations to the model classical liberal model and the class/organic, with the participation of women, capital and labor). More than institutional innovations in engineering these changes expressed the structural transformation of Brazilian society in the period. If the new actors and interests could not be concerted in the frame of the old Constitution, it became necessary to further the political agenda and a new form of negotiation. Analyses were performed by mapping three phases of political disputes culminating in the final text of the Constitution: it was to a) draft constitution sponsored by the subcommittee of the Foreign Office (official proposal of the Provisional Government), b) discussions constituents (represented by opinion of the 26) and c) the final text of the Constitution. Across these three crops appear in the disputes highlighted the themes of federalism, the regulation of labor rights and class representation, expressions of changes in the modernization process underway in the country as resources and strategies with regard to constitutional procedure.Item type:Item, Economia solidária como estratégia para o desenvolvimento territorial: a atuação da INCOOP no Jardim Gongaza e entorno, São Carlos, SP(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-10-25) ;Ferreira, Danilo Malta ;Shimbo, Ioshiaqui ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/6315114291031702https://lattes.cnpq.br/2047056981012254Item type:Item, Considerações sobre a utilização de pavimentos intertravados e betuminosos em áreas urbanas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-10-25) ;Carvalho, Denise Barroso Andrade ;Ferreira, Marcos Antonio Garcia ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/2643134259454260https://lattes.cnpq.br/6253896178328457The reality of pavement in médium and small brazilian cities is the execution of urban roads devoid of study, planning and sizing. This situation occurres a less useful life, a big maintenance cost and a big environmental degradation. Concerning this situation, allied the fact of the financial resources are usually insufficient since there is also the necessity of improvement in other social areas like basic sanitation, health and education, this work searches to establish guideline to help minicipal administrations to choose better the type of pavement to be used, concerning the trafficability, environmental and economic aspects. It is still imperative, it notes the cost of new ambiental requirement in the execution of paviments generating main for production process, and for taxes quarterly collected for the public organ. This study contemplates the interlocked and bituminous (bituminous hot machined concrete) pavements. It is presented a study of case in Passos city, Minas Gerais, searching to do a comparative analysis of these two types of pavements accomplishment. The result permited to collect an extense group of variables that can be used for definition of economic, tafficability and environmental aspects. It also permited a satisfatory evaluation of choosed methods for comparative analysis done by case study.Item type:Item, As múltiplas funções da agricultura familiar: um estudo no assentamento Monte Alegre - Araraquara/SP(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-10-25) ;Gavioli, Felipe Rosafa ;Costa, Manoel Baltasar Baptista da ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4748534388515487https://lattes.cnpq.br/6986957391734201From the emergency of the idea of sustainability, agriculture has acquired new connotations beyond the productive aspect, and associated with conservation of natural resources and rural territories, in recognition of their multifunctionality. Based on this concept, which values the socioenvironmental functions performed by rural families, the present work made an analysis on the rural settlement Monte Alegre, in the state of São Paulo, and identifies the functions beyond the production and their expression in this particular territory. The research starts form the hypothesis that family farming, by its polyvalence and by its sociocultural aspects, has the potential to conserve natural resources, ensuring food security of society, maintain cultures and ways of life in the countryside, among other aspects that are tributaries of the practice of agriculture. With a methodology based on qualitative and quantitative information, it was observed that the focused settlement has an agriculture that carries with it questions of identity, territorial cohesion, agrobiodiversity conservation and encouragement to other productive activities being the central element of the rebuild of a rural way of life in this environment.Item type:Item, Dinâmica da inovação tecnológica no Brasil: estudo do segmento de máquinas e implementos agrícolas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-10-25) ;Lucente, Adriano dos Reis ;Nantes, José Flávio Dinizhttps://lattes.cnpq.br/1900976112613026This study aimed to characterize the dynamics of technological innovation in Brazilian MIA segment. To achieve this objective this work realized a survey with IBGE information, the institution responsible for carrying out PINTECs occurred between 1998 and 2005, which allowed a quantitative analysis about technological innovations on MIA companies. In addition, a national scenario with a qualitative analysis was elaborated, based on surveys conducted by IBGE and on a field research in five MIA´s manufacturers companies of São Paulo state. Results indicate that technological changes have changed the way MIA companies treat the needs of their customers by improving the processes of development and manufacture of products. Moreover, it was found that the variables size and export orientation significantly influence the innovative activities. The influence of size company on innovative activity is justified by the fact that the larger companies find it easier to finance innovative projects and the returns of innovation are more expressive when the company has increased sales volume and the fixed costs are more easily absorbed. The export orientation also generates positive impacts on the ability to innovate, because the international competitiveness encourages investments in innovative activities. Exports, while facilitating the expansion of markets, contributing effectively to the reduction of fixed costs generated in the process of innovation.Item type:Item, Mensuração e controle dos custos na cadeia interna de valor: um estudo de caso na suinocultura da região norte de Mato Grosso(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-10-26) ;Sornberger, Geovane Paulo ;Nantes, José Flávio Diniz ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1900976112613026https://lattes.cnpq.br/0905948361902938The objective of this study was to propose systematic processes to measure and control costs of the Complete Production Cycle in a pork carcass manufacturer. Such processes will evidence the contribution of each internal value chain activity towards the generation of economic result. The methodology used includes a qualitative research and a case study. In addition to the literature review, the data were collected according to the following steps: (i) mapping the productive process in loco, which was considered the direct observation phase; (ii) semi-structured interviews with decision makers and those responsible for value activities; and (iii) documentary research through the analysis of internal documents. Based on the understanding of how the activities manage and use the resources, it was possible to develop systematic processes that enable cost analysis and the assessment of the contribution of each value activity towards the creation of operating results in the company. Those systematic processes can assist decision makers through different analyses of the company s internal value chain allowing comparisons with services provided by competitors. In general, it can be said that the adoption of the systematic processes proposed allows continuous assessment of all value activities of the company ensuring adequate and proper decision making.Item type:Item, Certificação de grãos no estado de Mato Grosso: estudo de caso em uma empresa produtora e exportadora de soja(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-10-26) ;Redivo, Arlete ;Nantes, José Flávio Diniz ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1900976112613026https://lattes.cnpq.br/2210524417319849Large sized companies in the grain segment are trying to make their products stand out in the market. In order to do so, they seek for certification to meet the expectations of consumer markets, regarding the intrinsic quality of the grains traded, aiming to ensure health and socioenvironmental responsibility. Worries related to the environment expressed by the rejection of consumer class in acquiring goods that throughout their life span may cause environmental harm and the trends resulting from changes in the standards of competition, derived from the new scenario of increasingly open and globalized economy, as well as the lack of quality certificates for those products, justify such market behavior. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the certification programs used by a company that acts as a producer and exporter of soybeans in the state of Mato Grosso, highlighting the benefits and difficulties faced by the organization to obtain and maintain such programs once they were implemented. The proposed research approach was qualitative, exploratory, carrying out a case study, which used a single case, and the information was gathered from those responsible for process of implementation and maintenance of grain certification. Through the development of the research, it was possible to observe the certification process of grains as an instrument that may be compatible with the diversification of production and increase in the interactions established between the producers and the actors involved in the trade and export of grains. The main contributions of this study were the noticed benefits in the implementation of certificates and seals that have the role of catalyzing the changes in the production process with credibility and commitment to continuous improvement. On the other hand, in order to reduce the identified difficulties, what we proposed are some criteria and procedures that could be included in the adoption of the certificate to ease the implementation process.Item type:Item, A percepção do pedestre sobre a qualidade da paisagem urbana(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-10-26) ;Schützer, Kléber ;Ferreira, Marcos Antonio Garcia ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/2643134259454260https://lattes.cnpq.br/0285150589276385Item type:Item, Sustentabilidade territorial urbana : uma análise conceitual(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-10-28) ;Sampaio, Danusa Teodoro ;Shimbo, Ioshiaqui ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/6315114291031702https://lattes.cnpq.br/3129713046214557The emergence of the term "sustainability" practiced in the world from the 80 end has been replaced by an extensive design, based on the appropriation and politicization that academically involved in the maturation studies in order to provide a more defined space for discussion of theory and practice in public policies aimed at sustainability. The main objective of the research was to analyze the concepts of urban sustainability and identifying convergences and divergences found in the literature. The general strategy used research was the literature review for this study have probing nature on a theme still insufficient, especially with regard to different approaches to territorial urban sustainability. The general steps of the research are: 1 choice of authors who discuss the terms of sustainable development, sustainability, political ecology, rural urban sustainability, moderate environmentalism, until reaching the border of interest, territorial urban sustainability; 2- analysis of the terms and concepts discussed by each author; 3- analysis of the discussion advance in chronological order; 4 collation and analysis of convergence of discussions between authors; 5- analysis of the differences in terms and concepts. They were used as evidence sources to consult the books, electronic articles, academic papers, magazines and other materials of literary sources published in tangible media and intemet, able to bring relevant information to the realization of this study. The results refer to: 1- analysis of how each author appropriated the terms and concepts; 2- definition of each concept discussed; 3- discussions of convergence of identification; 4- advance the discussions in chronological order; 5- amflise divergences between authors, terms and concepts. The results indicate that the use of terms and concepts allows derivations as each form of ownership and still have the other dimensions of lifting sustainability can be discussed, but that are not easily identified in the literature.Item type:Item, Fatores de influência na urbanização em APPs - áreas de preservação permanente. O caso da APP do córrego do Gregório - São Carlos / SP(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-10-28) ;Silva, Poliana Risso da ;Salvador, Nemésio Neves Batista ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/9930582531600560https://lattes.cnpq.br/8656322279894975This dissertation is a theoretical study developed on urbanization processes involving Permanent Preservation Areas (APP) marginal to water bodies. The verification of a constant breach on the principle of inviolability attributed to APP, especially in urban areas, motivated this research. The objective focused on identifying and discussing the factors that influence the processes of urbanization in Permanent Preservation Areas marginal to water bodies. From the literature review, 28 factors of influence could be pointed out and organized into 08 dimensions. The case study conducted in São Carlos-SP, on the Conservation Areas of the Gregory stream, allowed the identification of influencing factors in the four analyzed periods in the history of urbanization of the municipality: 1857-1965, 1965-1979, 1979-1986 and 1986 to 2010. The results obtained in this research enabled the understanding that some permanent preservation areas, present in urban areas have been urbanized for assuming the value of urban land as defended by Villaça (2001). The value added to them is thus, not only restricted to their environmental value, but also to values of location, culture and affection among others related to the local context.Item type:Item, Proposta de protocolos de segurança para a prevenção, a contenção e a neutralização de agente agressor bioativo em incidentes bioterroristas e estudo por docking molecular do fator letal do Bacillus anthracis (Antraz)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-10-29) ;Negré, Walkmar Silva ;Moreira, Fernando Manuel Araújo ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1809254923092721https://lattes.cnpq.br/7195217104298622For centuries, infectious agents have been used as weapons in armed conflicts. In 1972 the Biological Weapons Convention prohibited the creation and stockpiling of biological weapons. However, some countries continued to research and develop these weapons. Proof of this fact was the crash in 1979 in a military factory in the USSR, where Bacillus anthracis were dispersed. Biotechnology in a globalizing world facilitates and contributes not only to the development of weapons programs of regular armies, but also to terrorist groups. Examples of such this are the contamination by the bacterium Salmonella typhimurium by a religious fanatic group that in 1984 poisoned 751 people in the U.S., and the bacterium Bacillus anthracis spores mailed in the U.S. to several people during 2001 and 2002, immediately after the attacks of September 11th. A biological weapon is of extreme difficult detection by security equipment. Most infectious agents are present in almost every continent, making it easier to obtain. The production is cheap and it is easy to carry, being a small amount enough to reach very large area and thousands of people. It is an invisible weapon, odorless and causes symptoms unknown to most physicians. So, given this background, in this master thesis we attempt to demonstrate the reality of the threat of a biological weapon based on Anthrax as the biological agent used as a weapon of mass destruction. Based on this study, we show the fragility of the state system for dealing with such incidents, and we propose security protocols in order to regulate what should be done in time of crisis, defining its management and streamline the decision-making. Finally, using the technique of molecular docking, we also studied the lethal factor of anthrax, and proposed the compound 1-Phenylsulfonyl-2-propanone (DARXOJ, C9H10O3S) as a good candidate to inhibit its effects.Item type:Item, Espaços livres urbanos : praças públicas centrais de Maringá(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-10-29) ;Daniel, Letícia Weiller ;Falcoski, Luiz Antonio Nigro ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/3200660670856698https://lattes.cnpq.br/8776535118936016This research aims to analyze the origins and socio-cultural characteristics of the main central squares of the Maringá City, considering the dependence and complementarity between public and private spaces and their importance to users. Aims to characterize the influence of these squares, wheter for living, recreation, circulation and meetings with nature , both for cooperation with the improvement in environmental quality and for the constant change in the morphological structure and social spaces that they produce in the downtown. To that the public squares act as urban spaces of permanence, it‟s desirable that they present physical and ambient quality. The increasing specialization of the space inside of the city, the displacement of the forms of entertainment for closed enclosures, the growth of the use of vehicles and the conditions of the actual urban life show alterations in the forms of appropriation of the public squares. To understand the functioning of the central squares it is necessary to study the relation between uses, functions and physicist-ambient aspects of these with neighborhood and its paper in the city. To understand the phenomenon of appropriation of the central public squares offices we carry through two distinct stages: the revision of literature and the field research. In the literature revision, we argue the following subjects: urban centers, free spaces and central public squares. The field research was carried through in five squares located in the Maringá city. The adopted methodology was the Study of Case, in which they had used the following procedures: documentary analysis, observation of the physicist-ambient performance of the square and the behavior of the user, through the techniques of interview in the place. The application of these methods assisted in the agreement of the phenomenon of appropriation of the central public squares, therefore, beyond demonstrating the current situation that the squares if find, it allowed to identify the opinion of who if it appropriates or not of these spaces. Thus, from the systematization of the gotten dates are presented common parameters with basis of the analyses of the joined situations that aim at a qualification of the squares and a bigger appropriation on the part of the inhabitants of each city where they meet.Item type:Item, Compostos de metais de transição neuroativos: investigações fotoquímicas, fotofísicas, físico-químicas e citotoxicidade para drogas neuroativas em fase III(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-10-29) ;Camilo, Mariana Romano ;Carlos, Rose Maria ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1589143355309943https://lattes.cnpq.br/1588289751421610The photochemical and photophysical properties of the cis-[Ru(α-diimine)2(4Apy)2]2+ complexes where 4Apy= 4-aminopyridine, α-diimine = 1,10 -phenanthroline (phen) (1), 4,7 -diphenyl-1,10 -phenanthroline (Ph2phen) (2), 2,2 -bipyridine (bpy) (3) and 4,4 -dimethyl-2,2 -bipyridine (Me2bpy) (4) are reported. The four complexes have been characterized using HPLC, 1H NMR, UV-vis and emission spectroscopy. The Xray structure of complexes 1 and 3 were also obtained. The complexes are thermally stable throughout the course of many hours in non-aqueous and aqueous solution and highly colored. The absorptions are characterized by two broad shoulders for the phen derivatives complexes and one peak and one shoulder for the bpy derivatives. The four complexes show two emissive states at room temperature in fluid solution; their emission lifetimes (Tem) are solvent (CH3CN and DMF), excitation wavelength and α-diimine ligand dependents and are assigned to the population of two different MLCT (3MLCT and 1MLCT) excited states. Upon photolysis in acetonitrile solution, accompanied by spectroscopic techniques (UV-vis, luminescence, 1H NMR, HPLC), these cis-[Ru(α-diimine)2(4Apy)2]2+ complexes undergo 4Apy dissociation to give the mono-acetonitrile complex (for 2, 3 and 4) and the bis-acetonitrile complex (for 1).The substitution quantum yield (Osubs) (Yirr = 420 nm) was high for 1 (0.233) but decreased for complexes 2 (0.044), 3 (0.145) and 4 (0.152); the range of kobs (rate constant for the substitution reaction) values is seven times higher in magnitude from the slowest photochemical reaction 2 to the fastest one 1. Our spectroscopic data show and DFT/TD-DFT calculations confirm that both α-diimine ligand and 4Apy ligands act as a good electron donor ligand. Among the α- diimine ligand studied the phenanthroline is the electron-richest ligand, which behaves as a good α-donor toward the Ru(II) atom in complex 1 compared to Ph2phen, bpy and Me2bpy in complexes 2, 3 and 4 respectively. On the basis of this data is reasonable to assume that the Ru-4Apy bond would make weaker the XVIII ruthenium atom becomes more electron rich favoring its labilization. Indeed, the NBO (Natural Bond Orbital) charge analysis indicate a strong variation of the charge on the ruthenium ion, that is, +0.287 (1), and ~+0.63 in complexes 2, 3 and 4. The negative charge on the phen ligand is also significantly reduced to ~0.12 (1) and slightly reduced ~0.05 in complexes 2, 3 and 4 suggesting a stronger α-donation and weaker back-donation in complex 1 compared to complexes 2, 3 and 4. As a consequence the ligand field of the complex is decreased, which decreases the energy differences between the t2g and eg* of Ru(II). Doing so, the MLCT and MC states will approach increasing the photoreactivity of the complex. The feasibility of 4Apy release in 1 can be explained by the near proximity of the two low lying energy MLCT/MC states at 3.74 eV (demonstrated by TD-DFT calculations) which can be easily populated by light irradiation. This is probably the key of the photodissociation mechanism of 4Apy in this molecule and its derivatives.Item type:Item, Adaptatividade e resiliência no sistema socioecológico da comunidade caiçara da Ilha Diana, município de Santos-SP(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-10-29) ;Stori, Fernanda Terra ;Nordi, Nivaldohttps://lattes.cnpq.br/8168865557947289In this study we present the case of Ilha Diana caiçara community (Santos, Brazil), which is passing through significant transformations as the artisanal fishing activity declines and the industrial-port complex expands through this territory. We discuss which elements configure adaptability and resilience to the social-ecological system that evolves the Ilha Diana caiçara community in order to build resilience. The aims were the qualitative identification of caiçara cultural aspects, of social mechanisms and management traditional practices of the fishing resources and their transformations (1), as well as the analysis of the social-technological net logique d action composed by the emergent controversy of the environmental licensing of a modern port terminal (2). Proceeding the first analysis, we adopted an ethnoecological approach interviewing 20 Ilha Diana inhabitants (9% of the resident population), with ages varying from 18 to 90 years, respecting the equity between genders. Proceeding the second analysis, ten social stakeholders evolved at the controversy of port expansion were interviewed. Particular aspects of caiçara culture were identified at Ilha Diana territory, as its social organization linked to fishery and the self-recognition of this culture. We identified seven fishing management practices based on the local ecological knowledge, four social mechanisms connected to those practices, three innovation technological practices and the extinction of a traditional practice of selective fishery. The intergenerational loss of ecological knowledge and its linked social mechanisms can decrease resilience in this social-ecological system. However, the social mechanisms here identified may be a counterbalance to the negative aspects of crisis, promoting the re-organization of the system. We also noticed that the commercial and industrial logique d action , dominant worldviews within the ambit of the studied territory exert a negative influence for the maintenance of fishing practices and caiçara social mechanisms of Ilha Diana. The civic, domestic and opinion logics are only the counterpoint to the dominant views, as social-environmental conditions to licensing process of significant environmental impact undertakings. Thus we could not observe a real translation process of the analyzed licensing merely a process of negotiating conditions resulting in suspicions and conflicts which demonstrated that the concerning net is not wide, strengthened, attentive and clear. Then, we conclude that the promotion of resilience within the ambit of the studied social-ecological system will depend on the adaptive ability of the community, starting with sustainable socioeconomic practices, as, for instance, those based on their cultural upgrading. We think that it will also depend on debates with wide popular participation about the Santos estuarine portuary development projects, on a clear way, in terms of strengthening the concerning nets and elevate the vigilance upon them.Item type:Item, Atividade Física Adaptada no contexto das matrizes curriculares dos cursos de Educação Física(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-11-05) ;Borella, Douglas Roberto ;Denari, Fátima Elisabethhttps://lattes.cnpq.br/5575213011914394Whereas deepen the discussion about teacher training in the field of physical culture and how this training also includes people with disabilities, this study sought to identify and analyze the characteristics of the disciplines that comprise the field of Adapted Physical Activity, contained on curricular of Physical Education courses in Brazil. For this purpose, we sought information and reflections on the discipline that involves people with disabilities in Higher Education Institutions (IES). Thus it was taken as an object of study, data derived from a questionnaire answered by the course coordinators of Physical Education. The study included 114 IES, 101 undergraduate courses in physical education courses and 59 Bachelor of Physical Education. The collected material was analyzed by using as a guiding principle the contribution of the discipline devoted to people with disabilities to the professional training in physical education. The first stage of the study consisted of mapping the IES that offer the course in Physical Education (BA and BS) through the identification and location. The initial search of the IES was given by the electronic addresses of official bodies regulating the education and the statistical and evaluative at all levels and types of education and, through electronic lists that include data on the relationship of all education courses Physics of Brazil. In possession of electronic addresses of the IES, sailed on the pages of each IES to locate the e-mail the coordinators of Physical Education courses address or legal guardians of the IES. The procedure of sending the questionnaire, the second stage took place during the months of April and May 2009. The analysis was done by breaking the following variables: name given to the discipline, working hours, menu, title of professor, supervised training in the discipline, practice as a curriculum component in the training and extension projects aimed at people with disabilities. Research results indicated expertise in Adapted Physical Activity required for teacher performance / physical education professional, which were discussed drawing on the researcher's gaze and theoretical framework that supports the study, seeking to establish relations with the initial and emerging needs in society. Considering the presented problem and considering the knowledge that a physical educator must submit to engender a coherent teaching practice, it is recommended a restructuring of the curriculum in the discipline that involves people with disabilities in physical education courses. From this perspective, it must be emphasized in the speech that the task of this discipline is not only to train professionals in the inclusive perspective, but also exposed that there is still the exception, and seek solutions for teaching and pedagogical education with people with disabilities. It's up to these professionals to develop skills to enable the acceptance of diversity in their sphere of action.Item type:Item, Propriedades eletrocatalíticas de eletrodos nanoestruturados constituídos por multicamadas metálicas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-11-08) ;Freitas Sobrinho, Renato Garcia de ;Souza, Ernesto Chaves Pereira de ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1505400360366643https://lattes.cnpq.br/5262842566597142This work reports the electrochemical and spectroscopic studies of ethylene glycol and ethanol electrooxidation onto Ptpc/(Pt1Ir1)x/Pty, Ptpc/Irx/Pty (where x and y designate different thickness) and alloys Ptpc/(PtxIry)1.5ML (where x and y designate different atomic ratio) metallic multilayer electrodes. About ethylene glycol electrooxidation, it was observed that metallic multilayer electrodes without alloys in the inner layer, i.e. Ptpc/Ir3.0/Pt3.0 exhibited are increase around 175% in the peak current. Using factorial design technique, it was possible to determine that the composition effect of the inner layer was the most significant. Using in situ FTIRRAS, it was observed that the CO2 onset production over Ptpc/Ir3.0/Pt3.0 metallic multilayer electrodes shifted 100mV towards more negative values and its production was increased by approximately 140% compared to Ptpc. During the ethanol electrooxidation, it was observed that the process onset was shifted 200mV towards more negative values over Ptpc/Irx/Pty and the peak current density increased about 375% over Ptpc/Ir1.3/Pt10 compared to Ptpc. The CO2 production was shifted 100mV towards more negative for all Ptpc/Irx/Pty metallic multilayer electrodes, and especially for Ptpc/Ir250/Pt250 the CO2 production increased up to 960%. A complete C-C bond cleavage for ethanol molecule, leading to COL as intermediate and CO2 as final reaction production was for the first time observed in this work. Therefore, no band related to acetaldehyde and acetic acid was observed by in situ FTIRRAS over Ptpc/Ir250/Pt250 metallic multilayer electrodes.
