Literature presents that students with Down Syndrome (DS) learn to write and read in a slower pace than students without the disability. From these considerations, the present work considers the following question: to what extent the proposition and application of stimulator activities of the reading and writing, based on Emília Ferreiro theory, about the four levels of writing develops and enhances the knowledge of a young DS group? To answer this question, the present study was divided into two stages. In Stage one the goal was to conduct a survey of Dissertations, Theses and Articles (national and international) concerning the DS thematic, focusing on reading, writing and literacy in the period from 2001 to 2011. Bibliographic research was used. The tools used for search were: Portal Capes, SciELo, Google Scholar e Journal Portal Capes. In short, the life sciences showed a large concentration of Dissertations, Theses and Articles in Biological area, followed by the Humanities. In Stage two the goals was to investigate the acquisition of reading and writing of a young DS group from a specialized institution, checking on what level of writing and reading it was. The case study had six young DS participants, being two of the male gender and four of the female. Fictitious names were used to preserve their identity. The tools used for the research were: notes of interventions; document of activities developed on week; document of students attendance; Test of the 4 words and one phrase ; An adapted test from a new magazine (Test of reading); Literacy Pre-syllabic Program; Literacy Syllabic Program; and Literacy Syllabic-alphabetic Program. The materials used were assembled to provide functional support for the proposed activities. After prior approval by the Ethics Committee, the data collection was done thought three testes and a number of intervention sessions. The data was qualitatively analyzed for the identification of an evolution (or not) in writing and reading of the students. A quantitative analysis was also done trough a compilation of data about the reading aptitude of students who were in syllabic and syllabic-alphabetic level. Results were divided in three parts: writing of the name; writing of four words and a phrase; and textual reading. Fabiana regarding the writing of the name passed from syllabic level to syllabic-alphabetic; regarding the writing of four words and a phrase passed too from syllabic level to syllabic-alphabetic; regarding textual reading passed from 20% to 51% of reading units present inside the text. Raquel regarding the writing of the name and regarding the writing of four words and a phrase stayed on pre-syllabic level, showing improvement in her fine motor skills; regarding textual reading she started to identify letters A, I, O U. Lucas regarding the writing of the name and regarding the writing of four words and a phrase stayed on pre-syllabic level, but began to write down the letter A; regarding textual reading the student didn t identify any letter. Talita regarding the writing of the name passed from syllabic-alphabetic level to alphabetic; regarding the writing of four words and a phrase stayed on pre-syllabic level (initially presenting differentiation between words , with posterior differentiation between words and letters ); regarding textual reading started to recognize letter E, besides further the others that she already knew. Ricardo regarding the writing of the name and regarding of writing of four words and a phrase keep on pre-syllabic level, starting to write letter A and I; regarding textual reading on the first test identified letter A and on the final test the letters A, E, I, O and U. Rose regarding the writing of the name stayed on alphabetic level; regarding the writing of four words and a phrase passed syllabic-alphabetic level to alphabetic level; regarding textual reading improved from 51,1% to 64% the reading of the units presents inside the text. To summarize, the structure activities helped the young DS students to improve their reading and writing, given that stimulating activities of reading and writing were always concrete and/or adapted. Therefore, the students learned.

Workers quality of life is a very important aspect to be considered by both health professionals and executives and the Yoga practice can contribute in this context. Therefore the aim of this study is to identify the effects of a Yoga intervention program onpostural control and well-being of healthy workers. The effects of Yoga on different physical and mental health conditions werereviewed in the first part of thisstudy. Then an experimental study was conducted with twenty-four healthy workers from the same company as volunteers. Two groups were distinguished, one as experimental group, which engaged in a program of 16 Yoga classes (each class with 60 minutes of duration) at the company twice a week, and the other as control group. The effects of Yoga practice were evaluated through the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire and Work & Well-Being Survey Questionnaire (UWES 17) . The degree of postural stability was evaluated by a force plate and the center of pressure was the studied variable. After the intervention only the experimental group showed significantly improvements in musculoskeletal conditions and working engagement. Additionally significantly lower oscillation areas and center of pressure mean velocities were observed only for the experimental group. We conclude that the Yoga practice has improved musculoskeletal complaints and wellness in the workplace, as well as the sensory integration of the healthy workers.

Mo, NiMo or NiMoP HDS catalysts were supported on Al2O3, Al2O3-TiO2 or TiO2. These supports were synthesized via sol-gel and in the case o TiO2 it was used a commercial sample. The active phases were introduced by impregnation. Supports and catalysts in the oxide form were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), diffuse reflectance UV-Vis spectroscopy (DRSUV-Vis), thermogravimetric analyses (TG), temperature-programmed reduction with H2 (TPR-H2), N2 adsorption/desorption, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), temperature-programmed desorption of NH3 (TPD-NH3), high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and evaluated at 300°C in the HDS of thiophene, used as a model molecule. Alumina presented a high specific surface area and meso/macroprous characteristics, allowing a high dispersion of the active phases, as was evidenced by XRD and DRSUV-VIS data. A HRTEM image of a NiMo/Al2O3 catalyst showed the presence of crystalline MoS2 whose activity was substantially promoted by the presence of Ni. The NiMo catalysts were active in the HDS of thiophene, however, the activity was enhanced significantly by the incorporation of P. This result corroborates the positive influence of P in the preparation of HDS catalysts. It was suggested that P must participate as promoter in the formation of the NiMoS phase during the sulfidation process of the Ni and Mo oxides. The supported NiMoP catalysts prepared in this work were more active than a commercial NiMoP/ Al2O3 catalyst, with this result validating the preparation procedures used here. The titania addition in the alumina framework led to NiMo catalysts possessing lower activity. That behavior was attributed to the formation of Ni and Mo sulfides without interaction diminishing the generation NiMoS phase, which is highly active in the HDS of sulfured organic compounds.

This research aims to discuss the work with gender request letter in school, from a proposal for intervention, along with a group of sixth grade of elementary school to a public school in São Paulo. The theoretical framework is based on studies of Social Interactionism (Bakhtin, 2000, 2002, Vygotsky, 1989) and specifically in studies arising from Sócio-Discursive Interacionism, didactic in his shed on the use of textual genres in the classroom (Bronckart; Dolz, NOVERRAZ and SCHNEWULY, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007). In order to develop a work that integrates the language practices, which favor the use of language and situated to contribute to the effective development of the students, it was decided methodologically by developing a didactic sequence (SD), as a tool for teaching and data collection for research. Thus, we adopt the perspective of Action Research, finding the qualitative paradigm a viable way for the development of this research-oriented problem solving and / or processing of a given situation. The results achieved with the research showed some potential of SD methodology while working with the language. On the one hand, its use promoted the development of contextualized writing students, and collaborate with the experience of a language teaching situated on the real needs of the learners. Also made to reflect the importance of starting the learning of the grouping of genres argued early so that children can develop all the skills regarding this complex speech genre, and thus ensure a consistent learning that seeks inclusion of students in practices of communicative activities. The approach from Didact Sequence proved to be, in our research, a useful means to identify the strengths and difficulties of students and to better align the work of the teacher in the classroom. Thus, the results demonstrated that the development of Didact Sequence was productive and viable in our research context, made possible because the teacher work formal content (spelling, verbal inflection) and textual production while, in addition, the most important, that was to make students understand the social function of gender letter of request. Finally, but not least, the elaboration of didactic model and the very fact that the SD characterized as action research enabled us apropriássemos of theories relevant to teacher education, which led us to the conclusion that the only change understand and practice when we appropriate theories appropriate to the social nature of language.

The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of a teaching program for home caregivers of adults with intellectual disabilities who needed general support for teaching occupational skills to these adults. A multiple probe design was used. The study included three adults with intellectual disabilities, with ages ranging from 21 to 31 years, and 10 caregivers, with ages ranging from 19 to 78 years old. The study was divided into three phases. Phase I consisted of gathering information from caregivers to prepare the training program. Phase II sought to implement and evaluate the effects of the training program with caregivers. Phase III examined the effects of the intervention and a possible generalization of skills learned by participants in other environments. The training program was conducted in two phases that occurred simultaneously; theoretical training and practical training. In the theoretical training, it was presented to caregivers some theoretical frameworks that could assist them in teaching skills to adults with intellectual disabilities. In practical training the caregivers behaviors were modeled to favor learning skills by adults with intellectual disabilities. The results indicated that caregivers through systematic guidance were able to teach new behaviors to adults with intellectual disabilities in the context of daily activities. Moreover, the data suggest that adults with intellectual disabilities were also able to learn the behaviors necessary to perform the daily activities when appropriate teaching strategies were used.

Information retrieval systems for information retrieval can occur through the search by author name, title of the work, by text words and through the theme or subject of a work. For accuracy in information search by subject, it becomes essential to use structured languages, called indexing languages, which are instruments with a view to enabling represent the contents of the collection. Thus, the theme of our research is to identify construction parameters of an instrument subject representation for information retrieval by subject in units of scientific and technical information (USTI). In this study, the units of scientific and technical information correspond to the libraries of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of São Paulo. Our research problem is characterized by the absence of social cognitive parameters for the construction of an instrument of representation of thematic information of technical and scientific areas. Identify proposed construction parameters of an instrument of thematic representation of information on the technical and scientific literature in the area of Knowledge Representation and Organization in the context of social cognitive librarian and user and the prospect of the units of scientific and technical information feds. Our overall objective was to present parameters for the construction of social cognitive instrument thematic representation of information techno-scientific areas. The specific objectives were: 1. identify the interdisciplinary Science, Technology and Society, Information Science, with emphasis on the Organization of Knowledge and Cognitive Science, to establish a collaborative dialogue in building a tool for thematic representation of information 2. present on the documentary languages, viewed as representation language for subject areas of technical and scientific information retrieval systems; 3. identify methods of construction of alphabetical indexing languages, given the technical and scientific literature in the area of Knowledge Representation and Organization in Information Science, 4. describe the context of social cognitive librarian and user units of scientific and technical information feds 5. the views of librarians and users of information units on federal technical-scientific parameters in the collaborative construction of an instrument subject representation in Science, Technology and Education, from the application of verbal protocol viewed as a qualitative methodology with sociocognitive approach. Our research is justified by the need for an indexing language for representation and retrieval of information in units of scientific and technical information to enable the correct representation of information by librarians in indexing activity and access to information for users seeking quality and specificity in recovery the information. As methodology we conducted bibliographic research on thematic Science, Technology, Society, Information Science, Cognitive Science, Knowledge Organization, Documentary Languages, Intelligence Units, Thesaurus, Federal Institute of Education. Subsequently, we apply the Protocol Verbal Group (PVG), knowing opinions of librarians and users on indicators for the construction of the instrument. The results were analyzed from grants acquired by literature accompanied by statements of participants and enabled PVG Eleven parameters indicate the collaborative construction of an instrument subject representation: 1. characterization of the user profile (target) that will make use of language learners and teachers of upper-level courses and medium 2. terms must serve the needs of representation and retrieval of information (guarantees and literary usage) 3. terms must originate in natural language and specialty (fair usage and literary) 4. terms should represent the vocabulary usage of the organization (organizational guarantee) 5. language must have both generic and specific terms; 6. language should promote control of synonyms; 7. language must identify the homonymous accordance with the use of qualifiers 8. establishment of logical-semantic relationships between terms of orders hierarchical, associative and equivalency; 9. inclusion of terms of scope notes when needed; 10. assignment of terms must be contemplating the balance between comprehensiveness and specificity achieved by the information retrieval system; 11. identification / building information retrieval system (catalog) that includes also factors such as being available online, offering reservation services online and renewal; allow viewing of information such as: cover, table of contents, introduction and full text materials contained in the collection of USTI; possess and to enable a feature suggestion terms, the timing of the search, both to fix the search expression as for the storage of subjects / search terms. This feature is important in terms of collection, aimed at updating process of language also from the user's perspective; provide and ensure accessibility of the language so that the librarian can realize the representation of information with it and from it, and allow available the accessibility of the language so that the user can perform a search by subject, for recovering useful information with it and from it. We believe that the diversity of the public pointed verbal protocols with respect to factors such as age, level of education (knowledge) and different areas of expertise, which makes us think and recommend to the IFSP USTI the construction and use of an indexing language with vocabulary arising from natural language and specialty (as in a thesaurus) but with the logical structure semantics between terms / headers from a list of subject headings, covering scope also notes that become necessary.

Systems for Coordination of Orders (SCO) are information systems involved in all or some of the following Production Planning and Control (PPC) activities: to schedule or organise material requirements, and/or to control the production and purchasing orders release, and/or to schedule jobs on machines. The SCO can be applied in production environments as flow shop, job shop and cellular manufacturing. This research aims to compare the systems for coordination of orders kanban, CONWIP and TBC (kanban-CONWIP) in a real case that has as a flow shop production environment and propose a mind map with features that help in choosing the SCO. To accomplish this goal, we used the theoretical and conceptual research method, the experimental method, via computer simulation, and a case study in an automotive company. Among the main results for the company studied, it was observed that, in a global analysis, the TBC and kanban proved better than the CONWIP and the push system (current company situation). As to the main results of the analysis of pull systems in various scenarios, in most of these, the CONWIP and TBC were present as a generator of higher throughput and TBC and kanban had the lowest values of WIP. Another point to be noted is that the kanban performed better regarding WIP and/or throughput in scenarios with high coefficients of variation in arrival and processing times, greater variety of items and with the presence of bottlenecks in the line. The aid to the choosing procedure for the most appropriate SCO in management practice is among the contributions of this work. As for the literature of production management, this thesis originates important information for the area of PPC and supports the accomplishment of future research on this topic.

Children who don t have a positive and loving relationship with his father or whose father uses strict disciplinary practices and are exposed to violence and / or marital problems, are at a high risk to develop problems in their social development. Thus, this study aimed to: (a) compare the father s social educational skills, the characteristics of marital relationship in view of the father and behavior problems of children, between the group of children with developmental delay (G1) and the group of children who do not have developmental delay (G2) and (b) examine the relations between the variables. The study included 40 fathers who had children at preschool age (four to six years old) and their children's teachers. The research was conducted in four preschools of a small city, in the state of São Paulo, in Brazil. To reply the objectives: (a) the fathers were evaluated in relation to their repertoire of social educational skills (Parental Social Educational Skills Script Interview- RE-HSE-P) and the characteristics of the marital relationship (Marriage Questionnaire) and (b) teachers and fathers evaluated children's behaviors (Strengths & Difficulties Questionnaire - SDQ). To compare the results between groups of children s fathers, it were used the t-test and chi-square and to assess relations between variables it was used the Pearson correlation test. The results showed that fathers of children without developmental delay used the speech to express positive and negative feelings and to establish limits on the child more often compared with fathers of children with developmental delay, while the last ones emitted more inability behaviors while interacting with their children. Furthermore, fathers of children without developmental delay had better ratings in the categories evaluated in RE-HSE-P. Related to the marital relationship, it was noticed great differences in the way to describe the spouse, expression of feelings between the couple, evaluation and characteristics of the marital relationship. In most cases, the differences were positive for the group of parents of children without developmental delay. In relation to behavior problems, great differences were noted between the groups in the relationship problems with peers scale, in the teachers and fathers evaluation and in the emotional symptoms scale and in the total score of the difficulties in teachers evaluation, and the group of children with developmental delay had significantly higher scores on all scales. Overall, it was found positive correlations between fathers social educational skills and marital relationship and negative correlations between parental variables and children s behavior problems; in other words, positive educational practices and quality in the marital relationship collaborate for a good behavioral repertoire of children. These results indicate the importance of positive parental interaction with their children, as well as the quality in the marital relationship to the social development of preschool children and point directions to the need of attention to fathers of children with developmental delay. Keywords: parental involvement, social educational skills, marital conflict, behavior problems, developmental delay, preschool.

(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-02-18) Mezzacappa, Gabriela Gonzales; Zanin, Maria; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2231649606018051
STS field of study has been developed as a critic to the conditions of scientific and technological development. Within the propositions of this field there is STS education, which proposes another logic for teaching, through scientifictechnological literacy. Teaching programming technology offers adequate instruments for behavioral changing. STS education also proposes a different teaching logic. Grupo de Estudos em Programação de Ensino e Treinamento (Study Group of Teaching and Training Programming), originated at the collective of consumers ConsumoSol (São Carlos/SP/Brazil), elaborated the description of a problem-situation as part of elaborating a teaching programme of ethic, solidary and responsible consumption for children (aged four to six). This study´s objective was to identify relations between strategies, procedures and discussions of the group and the guidelines of STS education. Analysis elements were estabilished related to the aspects: principles of the STS field (e. g. "Non-linear relations between science, technology and society"), guidelines of scientific-technological literacy (e. g. "Promotion of democracy and participation in STS" and "Problematization of STS at various educative contexts"), challenges and difficulties of the STS education (e. g. "Capacitation of educators" and "Use of scientific language with lay public") and contributions of scientific-technological literacy (e. g. "Educating critic and responsible citizens"). Data were collected using documents, participation of the researcher in the group and audio records. They were systematized in a fluxogram, in which it was possible to identify elements of the four analysis aspects; part of them was related to specific events of the process of elaborating the problemsituation description (such as "Interdisciplinarity", "Promotion of critic to social reality", "Capacitation of educators" and "Use of apprentices´ context informations") and part was identified during the process (such as "Non-linear relations between science, technology and society", "Promotion of democracy and participation in STS", "Integration of interdisciplinary contents" and "Education of critic and responsible citizens"). Some elements were not identified (e. g. "Unveiling of miths of S&T" and "Diversity of theorical and methodological conceptions ). Most part of the elements were related to specific aspects of the process, indicating the potential of using teaching programming technology at group context as an instrument for STS education. Data analysis showed convergences between STS education and the process of describing a problem-situation. New studies may probe the comprehension of these relations and replicate the procedures for data description and analysis, which can be useful for studies at the STS education field.

The failure to consider the existence of traditional communities in the implementation of protected areas has created serious social problems, causing the reorganization of their lifestyles and therefore change in the identity of the residents. The general objective of this research is based on the relationship between memory and identity, to analyze how elements of social memory of the residents of the community of Marujá − State Park of Ilha do Cardoso São Paulo Brazil dialogue with the political and administrative guidelines in the process of reconstructing their identities. Our intention is to identify changes in administrative policy guidelines, comparing the different editions of the management plan, as well as analyzing the performance of the committee to support management; rebuild community social memories and expectations experienced today; identify the influence of experiences passed on certain cultural and economic spheres of everyday life of the subject, and to analyze the relationship that is established between the social memory of the local population and the politicaladministrative guidelines currently proposed. Information was obtained through bibliographical and documental analysis, pre-interviews and interviews which combined oral reports of life histories and exploratory questions. The information was recorded, transcribed and analyzed to constitute categories: memories of place, memories of work and memories of resistance that allowed us to understand the relation between relationship between memory, political and amministrative guidelines and identity in the community of the conservation area mentioned. From this analysis, we conclude that social memory serve as an instrument for interpretation of present, producing the 'new' and linking it to the past and relates to the political administrative guidelines to the extent that residents participate democratically in PEIC ´s management and have ensured their permanence by recategorization of some patches of land conservation area in which they live and develop their economic activities. Accordingly, the protected areas would become also places where traditional identity can live and accept the new and thus translate themselves.
