Item type:Item, Tecnologia educacional e possibilidades construtivistas a partir da percepção dos alunos sobre os processos de aprendizagem no curso superior a distância de tecnologia em gestão de turismo - CEFET-RJ / CEDERJ(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-02-21) ;Damas, Helton Luiz Gonçalves ;Kerbauy, Maria Teresa Miceli ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4762029784021248https://lattes.cnpq.br/2448723570436658This paper aims to analyze how students from Course of Technology in Tourism Management evaluates the operating platform moodle seeking to prove the relationship between education and technology in accordance with the Critical Theory of Technology from Feenberg. Andrew Feenberg is one of the pioneers of distance education to create a course based on this modality in the 1980s and since then studies the distance education with relation of social studies of science and technology and his research is based on technological constructivism. Thus, the state government of Rio de Janeiro in 2000 created the CEDERJ - Center for Distance Higher Education in Rio de Janeiro - a consortium of six public universities of Rio de Janeiro. Among the courses offered by CEDERJ, can highlight the Course of Technology in Tourism Management, administered by the Federal Center for Technological Education Celso Suckow da Fonseca (CEFET / RJ). Since it is the first half of the course students have difficulties in dealing with learning technologies, and relevant to assess the perceptions that they have on the learning processes and to analyze the possibilities of student participation in the building of moodle platform, molding according to the interests of all actors involved in the course - the governing, teachers and students. As methodology, the work is a case study based on qualitative and quantitative research, data obtained through a questionnaire on line targeted at students from the five centers of the course. After interpretation and data analysis it became clear what was the perception that students have about the learning processes of the course. As a result, we can verify that students have sense evaluative notes relevant to achieving satisfactory with respect to the learning process in which they are inserted and they can constitute social agents capable of modifying educational technology.Item type:Item, Análise bibliométrica da produção científica sobre direitos das pessoas com deficiência(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-02-21) ;Bravo, Aline Droppé ;Hayashi, Maria Cristina Piumbato Innocentinihttps://lattes.cnpq.br/7577682239269227The relationship between law and persons with disabilities existed since ancient times and is changing, albeit slowly, in search of human dignity. In the context of construction and warranty rights, scientific study was present, contributing new theories and mapping the social events. Thus, this study focuses on the rights of persons with disabilities in the Consolidated represented by scientific theses and dissertations in the Graduate Programs in the coun period between 1991 and 2009 and aims to: select the theses and dissertations in the period between 1991 and 2009 are available at the Bank of CAPES thesis and whose object of study people with disabilities and the law; analyze this scientific production, through bibliometric approach, methodology resource that allows, among other things, understand the configuration of certain knowledge areas from the analysis of the scientific production; produce bibliometric indicators of scientific output selected using the following parameters: authorship, institutional affiliation and professional profile of authors; encouragement received; regional and temporal distribution of the work; themes focused, among other , analyzing the content of selected theses and dissertations, by selecting a sample of at least one work linked to each knowledge area identified. As a theoretical framework we used the current law regarding the rights of persons with disabilities, as well as work on the analysis of scientific production and rights of people with disabilities. Regarding the methodology, the research is characterized as documentary, descriptive and analytical, based on bibliometric approach. The methodological procedures involved the following stages: a) literature review, b) survey and analysis of theses and dissertations involving thematic c) systematization and analysis of results. It was observed by the data obtained, among other things, that most research was developed between the years 2007 and 2009, and most often in programs related to the area of law and it was found that few institutions are responsible for developing most studies.Item type:Item, Eletrogoniometria de punho: avaliação de sensores e procedimentos matemáticos de correção para reduzir erros de medida(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-02-21) ;Foltran, Fabiana Almeida ;Coury, Helenice Jane Cote Gil ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8631547579695270https://lattes.cnpq.br/3445798406709343The human movement record is an essential requirement for biomechanical, clinical and occupational analysis, allowing assessments of postural variation, occupational risks and improvement of preventive programs in physical therapy and rehabilitation. Electrogoniometers have been used to record wrist movements during work. However, different sizes of sensors are used, bringing difficulties to the comparison of recordings. Moreover, although of flexible electrogoniometers (EGM) are considered a reliable and accurate equipment for dynamic recordings of different joints the EGM, they are susceptible to measurement errors, known as crosstalk. There are two main types of crosstalk, crosstalk due to sensor rotation and the inherent crosstalk. Correction procedures have been proposed to correct these errors, however no study evaluating the efficiency of corrections from both procedures in subject wrist measurements was identified in the available literature. Thus, this study aims: 1) to evaluate two different sensors in order to check its performance in an anthropometric defined sample; 2) to evaluate the effects of mathematical correction procedures on: the crosstalk due to the forearm rotation, the inherent sensors crosstalk, and the combination of these two procedures. To compare the two models of sensors 13 subjects were evaluated (7 women and 6 men) who performed flexion/extension and ulnar/radial wrist movement, reaching maximum amplitude in the pronated forearm position. Two sensors measuring 65 and 110 mm of length (XM110 and XM65, respectively) and an acquisition data device (Datalog, Biometrics) were used. The sequence of movements and the sensor placement were randomized. The data were analyzed descriptively and statistically bymultivariate analysis. The intra-individual variation (root mean square RMS between trials) were calculated. The results showed there was no significant difference between the sensors for all movements. The maximum intra individual variation was 2.2°. There were significant differences between gender for wrist flexion and ulnar deviation, women have higher values than men. The maximum variability between sensors was 7.1°. Although no significant difference was identified between sensors, it was found that the sensor XM110, bigger than XM65, presented bulging during the extension. Therefore, for individuals with height up to 1.8 m, the data obtained by both sensors are comparable. In the second stage of the study we evaluate the maximum amplitude of the flexion/extension and ulnar deviation/radial wrist of 43 healthy subjects recorded by EGMs. Correction procedures were applied to the crosstalk due to the rotation of the forearm, crosstalk inherent and combining the two procedures. The results showed there was no significant difference in measurements before and after the correction procedures (P≤0.05). Furthermore, the differences between the correction procedures were below 5 ° for most cases, indicating small clinical impact on the measurements. Considering that the corrections are time consuming, require specific technical knowledge and have provided inefficient results, the correction procedures are not recommended for clinical wrist electrogoniometers recordings. Thus, improvement of equipment should be provided by the manufacturers.Item type:Item, Análise da produção científica brasileira sobre o conhecimento tradicional(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-02-21) ;Mello, Livia Coelho de ;Rigolin, Camila Carneiro Dias ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/2388584081961836https://lattes.cnpq.br/5660714451333471In the last two decades, the traditional knowledge has been the subject of intense discussion. This subject is studied by researchers from various areas of knowledge, generating a large number of documents, such as, journal articles, theses and dissertations. A way to evaluate the science on this subject is analyzing these documents. In this dissertation, through quantitative, descriptive and exploratory methods, it has been conducted two bibliometric analyses. The first regards the scientific production of theses and dissertations with thematic related to traditional knowledge, defended in Brazilian universities and indexed in the CAPES theses Database. The second analysis, carried out on the Web of Science database with articles about the theme Traditional Knowledge , encompassed three searches: (1) articles written by Brazilian authors; (2) international scientific production about Brazil; (3) global production of scientific documents. The bibliometric analysis pointed out that the Federal University of Santa Catarina is the Brazilian institution that has published most of the theses and dissertations on the subject, spotting the Graduate Program in Agroecosystems. Environmental studies were the ones that stood out the most, mainly the areas Ecology and Agronomy. These results suggest the treatment of traditional knowledge as a thematic subordinate to its ecological dimension.Item type:Item, O campo científico, os conflitos e relações de poder no trabalho de professores de uma universidade pública(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-02-21) ;Graetz, Carla Fabiana ;Silva, Eduardo Pinto ehttps://lattes.cnpq.br/3492708361349827The main target in this dissertation is to identify the constitutive elements of the dynamic in the scientific field, standing out the experience and the point of view of professors on the conflicts and relations of forces. There was an approach to a postgraduate course on humanities of a renowned Brazilian public university. Twelve semi-structured interviews were conducted about life history and scientific academic trajectory. The professors were intentionally selected. Professors, who entered in the institution in different historical moments (before and after 1995), were interviewed. These professors were also in different stages in their careers and they also presented different hierarchical positions in the institution and also in the scientific field. There were also pilot interviews with a professor from another institution and two complementary ones, one of which with a university worker and another one with a student, which guided this research about the procedure and questions of the interviews. The analysis of the content of the interviews was made by reading, rereading and gradual building of analysis categories that allowed pointing inferences and interpretations. Two categories of analysis were indicated: work, sociability and subjectivity; and field, university practices and relations of forces. The analysis of the interviews was complemented with some documents (inter alia, meetings minutes, lattes CV, data from the institution website) that allowed us to consider, within the limits of the ethic commitment of not identifying the researched institution, some features of its institutional culture, its faculty profile and also of its sample. It was used as theoretical background Bourdieu‟s concepts of fields, capital and habitus, as well as studies on Brazilian public universities and also studies of other authors that approach themes related to the subject of our research. It started from the hypothesis of the reconfigurations of the public universities under the guidelines of the State Reform that took place especially after 1995. It was considered that could be worsening clashes and disputes in obtaining and also distributing the scientific capital due to the postgraduation model that is being consolidated. The results pointed out to the inseparability, contradictions and clashes between sociability and subjectivity under the mediation of work. It was pointed to epistemological and political conflicts in the scientific field and relations of forces permeated by competitiveness and individualism. The internalized provisions of the professors were understood as formed in a variety of their lifelong socialization processes and reconstituted in a more or less conflicting way from their insertion in the scientific field and in their current historical moment, in which the universities practices tend to be reconfigured under the aegis of the instrumental rationality of the evaluation model of the professors production performance and also of post-graduation programs. It was evident that there was a dialectical relationship between habitus and field, as the professors are constitutive part in the scientific field, the same way that they extract elements that influence their subjectivity, (con) forming it, according to each case, in different ways, to the productive sociability. The professors need to tacitly accept the rules in the scientific field and the established evaluation parameters of productivity, in order to remain therein, even that, many times, the subjectivity and the habitus clash with the productive sociability.Item type:Item, Alterações bioquímico-fisiológicas em pacu (Piaractus mesopotamicus Holmberg 1887) exposto a um inseticida à base de deltametrina(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-02-21) ;Rossi, Priscila Adriana ;Moraes, Gilberto ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4427903557163246https://lattes.cnpq.br/1610724290229252The use of insecticides is increasing not only for agriculture purposes but also against threats to public health caused by insects. However, in the last few years it is possible to see a frequent replacement of current pesticides for new others, which differ in toxicity. Pyrethroid insecticides, deltamethrin is an example, are considered ideal xenobiotics due to low toxicity to mammals and birds, a wide range of targets and no biomagnification. Nevertheless, several studies report the toxic effects of deltamethrin on non-target organisms, such as fishes. In this vertebrate group, high toxicity seems to be due to an enzymatic deficiency in hydrolyzing pyrethroids and this fact can be assessed through hematologic, metabolic, neurologic, and oxidative stress investigations. Pacu, Piaractus mesopotamicus, is a freshwater fish from South America and is affected by massive use of pyrethroids. This species is widely known in the Midwest region of Brazil, wherein the largest agrochemicals use takes place. The aim of this study was the acute toxicity determination of deltamethrin (LC(I)50;48h) for pacu juveniles; evaluation of hematologic, metabolic and antioxidant defenses of pacu after 96 h of sublethal exposure to deltamethrin (10% LC(I)50;48h); evaluation of deltamethrin effects on the brain acetylcholinesterase (AChE) in vivo. The LC(I)50;48h estimated to deltamethrin in pacu juveniles was 17.32 μg L-1. In response to sublethal exposure, pacu depicted blood changes suggestive of erythropenia and dehydration. Metabolic changes included hepatic glycogenolysis, muscle proteolysis, and hyperglycemia, suggesting an overload of the energetic metabolism to serve the detoxification processes. Regarding antioxidant defenses, the occurrence of hepatic lipid peroxidation is indicative of oxidative stress with depletion of non-enzymatic antioxidants and alterations in antioxidant enzymes activity. Also, deltamethrin depicted AChE inhibition in fish exposed to sublethal concentrations. There is a lack of studies that evaluated within day and between day reliabilities of 3-D scapular kinematics during elevation and lowering of the arm in different shoulder conditions, as well as studies about low-amplitude and high-velocity thoracic spine manipulation (TSM) effects on scapular kinematics in subjects with shoulder dysfunctions. Objective: To establish within day and between day reliability of scapular motion during elevation and lowering of the arm and at rest position and to evaluate the immediate effects of a TSM on pain and scapular kinematics during elevation and lowering of the arm, both in subjects with and without shoulder impingement syndrome (SIS). Methods: Kinematic data were collected using Flock of Birds® electromagnetic device. Subjects were divided in 2 groups: control and impingement. For reliability kinematic data were collected during elevation and lowering of the arm and at rest position on 2 different occasions separated by 3 to 5 days. Forty-nine subjects were tested for within day reliability. Forty-three subjects were reassessed for between day reliability. For kinematic evaluation pre- and ppost-manipulation, scapular kinematics was collected during elevation and lowering of the arm before and immediately after the intervention. Numeric pain rating scale was used to assess shoulder pain during arm movement at pre- and post- intervention. Fifty subjects (31.76 ± 10.91 years) with SIS and 47 subjects (25.76 ± 5.01 years) asymptomatic for shoulder dysfunctions were randomly assigned to one of the groups: manipulation or sham. Results: There was very good within day reliability for assessing scapular internal and upward rotations and tilt from both groups during elevation and lowering of the arm (ICC=0.92-0.99). In general, there was good between day reliability for assessing scapular motion during elevation and lowering of the arm from both groups (ICC=0.54-0.88). There was also good and very good between day reliability for assessing scapular rest position in both groups (ICC=0.66-0.95). Study 2: Subjects with SIS experienced reduced shoulder pain (from 3.29 to 2.45, p<0.01) during arm movement immediately after TSM. Subjects with and without SIS who received TSM and asymptomatic subjects who received sham intervention showed significant increase in scapular upward rotation at post-intervention. Increase in scapular anterior tilt at postmanipulation was also observed in asymptomatic subjects who received TSM. Conclusion: Flock of Birds® electromagnetic tracking system is a reliable device for measuring 3-D scapular motion during elevation and lowering of the arm and at rest position in subjects with and without impingement symptoms over time. TSM is associated with improved shoulder pain and scapular upward rotation in subjects with SIS. Although with questionable clinical relevance, TSM may not be immediately favorable to scapular tilt in asymptomatic subjects.Item type:Item, O significado do direito autoral na era da sociedade da informação: um estudo comparado de convenções internacionais(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-02-22) ;Baracat, Alyssa Cecilia ;Rigolin, Camila Carneiro Dias ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/2388584081961836https://lattes.cnpq.br/1216338194711621The Information Society is defined in terms of production, circulation and access to knowledge. Therefore, the copyright became a strategic element to the social, economical, political and cultural configuration of the Information Society. The history of copyright, including the creation of the current international regime for the protection of intellectual property rights, reveals the link established between this category of protection and international political economy. At the same time, new information and communication technologies allow diversification in creating process and access to knowledge, as well as enable the making of new devices which enhance the protection of intellectual assets. This scenario led to the questioning of the forms of regulation of copyright that goes through a process of reconstruction of meaning. The contradiction that is established in the Information Society is emphasized in the field of scientific production and communication, since it involves legitimate social interest as well as principles common to the scientific community. The present study aims to examine this contradiction in the international scenario considering the normative aspects linked to the international copyright protection, evaluating and comparing documents and international regulatory actions of the following international organizations: UNESCO, WIPO and WTO. The objective is to verify, by comparative analysis and data from interviews with key informants, the level of openness of organizations to dialogue with civil society. It will analyze the specific case of the inclusion of Open Access on the Agenda for Development administered by WIPO, and the effects of these debates on the international regime for the protection of intellectual property, as well as on the reconstruction of the legal framework of copyright in Brazil.Item type:Item, Profissionalidade docente na educação do campo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-02-22) ;Lopes, Wiama de Jesus Freitas ;Bezerra Neto, Luiz ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4809080593333472https://lattes.cnpq.br/5222750643490502This thesis entitled "Professionalism in Teacher Rural Education analyzes the process of formation of the teaching profession of educators in the field of Breves riversidemultigrade classes on the island of Marajó, state of Pará, through the subject matter of teaching based on its implications professional educators in in rural areas in multigrade classesriverside. The research was conducted in two public schools in the region of São Carlos-SP, with the participation of 04 teachers and 444 students divided into 11 classrooms. The methodology for data collection was divided into two steps. First, students performed experimental inquiry activities and were assessed through written individual and group activities, being also interviewed and filmed. These activities and interviews were useful for monitoring their mental models. It should be pointed out that the activities were developed based on the Curriculum Proposed by the Secretariat of Education of the State of São Paulo and the following chemical concepts were included: proposal for experimental procedure, submicroscopic representation of reactants and products, evidence of chemical reactions, Lavoisier s Law, concepts of reactants and products, Proust s Law and stoichiometry. In the second step of data collection, a short course was performed on the Laboratory for Chemistry Teaching and Learning (LENAQ). In this course the methodology used was the same as in the first step. Regarding the student s performance in the first step, it was observed that one third of the subjects showed oscillation in their mental models, 27.8% showed evolution of performance, 24.5% presented regression and 13.5% showed a constant performance. Thus, it can be inferred that although in some moments students showed evidence of difficulties in the development of mental models, the inquiry approach contributed to the development of the different chemical concepts. It should be emphasized that it was observed an evolution of a significant number of students regarding the development of experimental procedures. Finally, in the short course, improvements were observed in the constant and evolution performances in comparison to the school year.Item type:Item, A indexação social na construção discursiva midiática de Jogo de cena(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-02-22) ;Silva, Marco Donizete Paulino da ;Sá Neto, Arthur Autran Franco de ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5055550097454248https://lattes.cnpq.br/1474293377346927This work is a desk research and was elaborated in order to ascertain to what level is the process of indexing Social within the documentary film, specifically in the discursive construction developed by media around the movie Jogo de cena (Eduardo Coutinho, 2007). It was used the theoretical repertoire pertaining to Information Science to delineate differences between the concepts of indexing and Social Indexing in the field of Social Knowledge Organization and then was observed the direction of the Social Indexing in relation to the field of Documentary filmmaking. Furthermore, analyzing the correlation between the number of steps with subjective questionnaires of physical activity, age, BODE index and its variables. Methods: Cross-sectional study were evaluated 30 COPD patients divided into group 1 (≥ 4580 steps) and group 2 (<4580 steps), by monitoring with pedometer, short International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ short) and modified Baecke questionnaire, Index BODE and its variables. The difference analyzes were performed using the Mann-Whitney test or unpaired t test, correlations by Pearson or Spearman test (p <0.05). Results: There were no differences between the groups in relation to the classification score and BODE index and its variables (BMI, FEV1 and mMRC), modified Baecke questionnaire (total score, sports fields and home) and the IPAQ short score (metabolic equivalent domains (MET) in moderate and vigorous activity per week). We observed higher values for group 2 in the modified Baecke questionnaire (leisure domain) and age, and lower values of distance covered in 6MWT, % predicted 6MWT and in the scores IPAQ short domain (MET walk in during the week and total score). It found a weak correlation between the IPAQ short with the number of steps (r = 0.399), with age (r = -0.459), with 6MWT (r = 0.446) and % predicted 6MWT (r = 0.422). Conclusions: The value of 4580 steps suggested in the literature, was not sensitive to reflect differences between the groups when compared with established predictors of mortality. The IPAQ short can be an acceptable and feasible to measure the level of physical activity in patients with COPD.Item type:Item, Avaliação de fala de usuários de implante coclear após ensino de relações modelo articulatório/figura e palavra falada/figura(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-02-22) ;Oliveira, Sabrina Roberta ;Souza, Deisy das Graças de ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4404800720856419https://lattes.cnpq.br/8022477493426972Cochlear implants have been effective on cases of deep hearing loss, by allowing sound perception. People with prelingual deafness must learn hearing skills, when using this implant. This study is part of a research program on the development of speech comprehension. Goals were, regarding a sample of four children using cochlear implant: using matching-to-sample model, to teach them conditional relations among articulatory model and figures (AC), dictated words and figures (BC); to verify the effects of these relations on new emerging ones (CA, CB, AB and BA), and also on figures naming, echoic behavior and lip reading skills. Multiple baseline design was used with two participants in order to assess teaching outcomes. Participants performance was also assessed via tasks involving copying and selecting, as well as their auditory and expressive abilities. In order to control teaching tasks sequence effects, half of participants were taught AC followed by BC, and the other half BC followed by AC. Participants learned eight trained conditional relations (four ACs and four BCs) and learning was more effective on BC/AC sequence. Participants formed equivalent stimuli classes, which included figures, dictated words and articulatory models. Three participants have demonstrated a better performance on echoic behavior tasks. In selecting and copying tasks, and also in vocal imitation of nonexperimental stimuli, three participants have shown improvements when comparing to pretest. Results confirm that teaching can improve important rehabilitation skills for individuals with prelingual deafness who are using cochlear implant. Furthermore, results suggest that some tasks might be more appropriate for learning effectiveness.Item type:Item, Um estudo discursivo dos blogs: sentidos de/sobre homofobia(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-02-22) ;Bastos, Gustavo Grandini ;Romão, Lucília Maria Sousa ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8828821460772801https://lattes.cnpq.br/5187394116038532The present work aims to investigate how the homosexuals talk about homophobia through blogs (online diaries) having as analytical, methodological and theoretical reference the French Discourse Analysis. The new information and communication technologies have been providing new discursive spaces like blogs that have specific writing productions. The research made it possible to observe the dislocations and repetitions used by gay subjects (the ones who write / post and the ones who read the blogs) that affect the circulations and production of discourses and meanings about homophobia. In those discourses we can notice the productions of different meanings about the prejudice present in those blogs. The corpus of this research is composed by 37 excerpts, comments and posts from three blogs that use the online- diary format, written by brazilian homosexuals. The results obtained by analyzing them allowed the identification of the blogs as information spaces where there are reports of violence (occurred in different moments of their lives) narrated by the subjects. It is also possible to identify marks that highlight homophobia as part of their everyday lives affecting them and the way they themselves use homophobic expressions. By using the discourse that is available, the subjects write their texts sharing reports and building together that discursive spaceItem type:Item, A ambientalização curricular da educação física nos contextos da pesquisa acadêmica e do ensino superior(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-02-22) ;Rodrigues, Cae ;Freitas, Denise dehttps://lattes.cnpq.br/6159440346233422The aim of this research revolves around the following question: considering the global dimension of the environmental happening and the consequent tendency towards the environmentalization of curricula, how do these processes evolve in physical education settings, especially in contexts of research and teaching? For the analysis of environmentalization processes surrounding research contexts in physical education settings we considered papers published in scientific journals that propose dialogues/investigations revealing possible meeting points between environmental and physical education discourses. For the analysis of environmentalization processes surrounding teaching contexts in physical education settings we considered academic units that support discussions concerning environmental issues and that are part of physical education curricula in Brazilian higher education settings. The data was analyzed in dialogue with the theoretical references of the research. These references address, in the main: (a) the characterization of the socioenvironmental issue as a field of disputes of power and the elements that surround the legitimization and institutionalization of the environmental dimension; (b) curriculum theories and processes of curricular environmentalization in higher education settings; (c) the historical contextualization of meeting points between the field of physical education and the environmental field. Interpretative analysis of the data and the sociological focus of the research allow the identification of grounding symbols and structures of knowledge that are associated with the incorporation of environmental issues in physical education settings, especially in the contexts of research and teaching.Item type:Item, Formação de educadores em Rio Claro a partir de uma proposta centrada na escola(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-02-22) ;Velis, Valéria Aparecida Vieira ;Conti, Celso Luiz Aparecido ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/6967887143687279https://lattes.cnpq.br/1082904862999490This research has as main object of analysis the Continued Formation Program of Education Professionals developed by the Municipal Education Department of Rio Claro City SME, in the period 2009-2012, whose focus was shifting to the school unit, as a space for reflection and self-training of professionals who work there. The goal, in turn, is to analyze this program from the perspective of different agents involved in the process: external advisors hired, school units and the SME team from Rio Claro, showing contributions and perceived challenges. The choice of the object and goal setting are due to my work with the SME, while Director of the Pedagogical Department, a position that allowed me to participate in the entire process of designing and implementing that Program. Based on the main theories concerning the continued formation of educators, sought to put the proposal of the Continued Formation Program in his experience. Therefore, within a qualitative approach was used methodological procedures for data collection involving documentary analysis (presented by Educational Units reviews about work, reports from advisers who accompanied the construction of the political-pedagogical schools) and analysis of news conference with members of the Centre for Pedagogical Improvement - CAP, who participated in the whole process. The literature on the subject of the research showed that there is a declining trend in offering courses with traditional views, opening up space for the development of continuing education originated from the demands presented by educators, that takes into account the specificity of the training process from the perspective of professional development and is linked to the school project. The empirical research, in turn, demonstrated that the incentive for participation was the greatest contribution of the program and organization of the time the biggest challenge to confront.Item type:Item, Aplicação de imagens digitais e técnicas espectroanalíticas combinadas com quimiometria para detecção e quantificação de adulteração em leite bovino(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-02-22) ;Santos, Poliana Macedo dos ;Pereira Filho, Edenir Rodrigues ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/3394181280355442https://lattes.cnpq.br/5317366192057348Milk provides essential nutrients (carbohydrate, fat, protein, minerals and vitamins) of great nutritional relevance for humans, particularly during childhood. Nowadays, the occurrence of milk adulteration is a major issue in the dairy industry, and has been causing concerns among costumers and food manufacturers. In this context, the objective of this study was developed a simple, fast and non-expensive method to identify and quantify milk adulteration. In this study, three different methods were proposed based on digital image, infrared spectroscopy (IR) and time domain nuclear magnetic resonance (TD-NMR). Milk samples were adulterated by addition of tap water, whey, synthetic milk, synthetic urine, urea, hydrogen peroxide and caustic soda, in different concentrations, except for caustic soda. In this case, fresh milk samples were put at ambient temperature and waited to turn sour. Later, a 10- mol/L commercial NaOH solution was added into the sourish milk to establish its original pH. Classification models obtained with digital images exhibited tight and well-separated clusters allowing the discrimination of control from adulterated milk samples. Results obtained with TD-NMR and IR allowed the discrimination of milk samples according to the level of adulteration and the type of adulterant used in the adulteration process. In the case of adulteration with NaOH, the method developed with digital image was able to discriminate fresh from adulterated milk samples. Regression models obtained with digital image showed that the method was able to detect adulteration level ≥ 6% v/v. In the other hand, the models obtained with IR and TD-NMR allowed the quantification of adulteration at levels ≤ 3% v/v.Item type:Item, A riqueza do imponderável: complexidade e desafios da ciência, tecnologia e sociedade e da educação ambiental em rede(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-02-22) ;Ferrari, Maíra Miller ;Ferraz, Maria Cristina Comunian ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/2893153253924855https://lattes.cnpq.br/6412888658400402In the current socio-environmental crisis it is critical that the relationships between Science, Technology and Society (STS) and Environmental Education (EE) are enriched, strengthened and dynamized. From the experience of four years in a cultural network called Circuito Fora do Eixo the following question arose: How to awaken the awareness of socio-environmental complexity within a social network? This study features a qualitative and literature review nature and it aims at understanding the different relationships between STS and the perspective of identifying contributions of these theories for the practice of Network Environmental Education. The epistemological framework of this research is the Complex Thinking according to Edgar Morin along with the Environmental Rationality by Enrique Leff. The study contextualizes: the socio-environmental crisis and the cultural dimension of the human being, the environmental rationality, the network society, and lastly, the relationship between Science, Technology and Society and Environmental Education. Based on these research developments we designed an Environmental Education program for network constituted collectives. We realized that it is essential to the program not to be ruled only in contents and that the most important are the human relationships that are established from there. The program features ways for socio-environmental sustainability in this network universe and considers the multiculturalism as an important bias in the process. It was noted that the Environmental Education and the Science, Technology and Society converge in many of the challenges to be faced by them. The implementation of this program can encourage both the critical awareness of the socio-environmental issues and the network participation in order to promote a change in the sensitivities and values, while giving rise also to the search of creative solutions into the achievement of sustainable societies.Item type:Item, Estudo de sintomas musculoesqueléticos, fatores de risco e exposição física em trabalhadores de escritório(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-02-22) ;Barbieri, Dechristian França ;Oliveira, Ana Beatriz de ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1049547759186556https://lattes.cnpq.br/7121101795186618The high incidence of musculoskeletal disorders (WRMD) among computer workers can be associated with different risk factors such as psychosocial, organizational and ergonomic. The worker s satisfaction with his/her job, workload, and the demand and control relationship are the main psychosocial risk factors. Although these factors are not predictive of WRMD, they can act together with ergonomic factors and can stand out when biomechanical stress is absent. When considering biomechanical factors, the literature reports the low muscular rest combined to the low variation in activation. The knowledge available in the literature does not support an effective method of intervention to prevent WRMD in subjects doing intensive computer work. Considering the available hypotheses regarding the nature of WRMD in intensive computer workers, it is suggested that the enrichment of work by different tasks that introduce variation to the physical exposure of these workers can improve musculoskeletal health. This variation could reduce the risk of WRMD. However, it is not known if in fact physical exposure of computer workers varies according to such tasks. A recent study comparing muscle activity (EMG) during computer and non-computer work showed that EMG did not effectively changed across the tasks. However, the study has not evaluated movements, and the identification of tasks was based on software. In order to contribute with information on the mechanisms of exposure in office workers performing intensive use of the computer during work, two studies were developed and compose this dissertation. The Study 1 compared ergonomics and psychosocial indicators between office workers characterized as symptomatic and asymptomatic. Forty-two office workers that use the computer at least 5 years at work have participated. Subjects were divided into two groups according to the results of the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (NMQ). Subjects who have experienced any upper limb and neck symptom during the last week were labeled as symptomatic subject (SS). Subjects that have not reported symptoms in these body parts in the last 7 days were classified as asymptomatic subjects (AS). The Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) and Job Content Questionnaire (JCQ) were used to measure psychosocial indicators. Ergonomic Workplace Analysis (EWA) was used as with ergonomics indicator. The results showed higher annual and weekly prevalence of discomfort in the wrist/hand region. The UWES demonstrated that SS have less work engagement. The groups have also differed according to the workspace and job content, according to EWA. Therefore, SS differed from AS regarding both ergonomics and psychosocial factors. In order to obtain more precise information about the risk of this population developing WRMD the Study 2 was developed. The objective was to elucidate if the exposure in non-computer tasks is substantially different from exposure in computer work. Fifty servants (11 male and 39 female), selected according to the same criteria as the previous study, participated of the study. Bilateral EMG of upper trapezius (UT) and wrist extensor (WE), as well as movements of the head, neck, upper back and shoulder were recorded during 2 hours. The tasks performed during the recordings were timed. All data were then concatenated into: Task 1 computer work (CW); Task 2 seated non-computer work (NCW-seat); Task 3 stand non-computer work (NCW-stand); Task 4 - pauses (NC-pauses). Variables that characterize physical exposure were calculated and compared using the Friedman test and alpha level at 5%. Additionally, the contrast between CW and the others tasks was calculated as an indicator of exposure. In general, the results showed that during CW the average EMG of UT was lower, there was less variability in activation, larger and more variable relative rest time - RRT in relation to the other three tasks. The non-dominant WE did not have the same response to the different tasks. On the other hand, the dominant WE presented lower average EMG in CW versus NCW-stand and lower variability (SD and CV) in CW versus the others tasks. Data of movements showed similar results, whit lower amplitude recorded during CW. I general, NCW-stand showed more difference when comparing average data with CW. The data of contrast were consistent with EMG data and movements. The best values were observed when contrasting CW versus NCW-stand. In conclusion, non-computer work performed in upright position showed higher physical demand by considering both EMG and movement data. Therefore, it is possible to suggest that this task can potentially increase variability in physical exposure of computer workers. However, this information still need to be more investigated in order to generate clear and practical recommendations.
