listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Dimensionamento de elementos estruturais em concreto leve(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-04-22) Ferreira, Cláudia Nunes Gomes; Parsekian, Guilherme Aris; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7798651726059215; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5512194065516905The lightweight concrete for structural purposes is a material that has great potential for application in various construction areas. Its main feature is the reduced density compared to conventional concrete. This characteristic is a great advantage, since one of the main shortcomings of conventional concrete is its heavy weight. Thus there is a reduction in foundation loads, reduction in moving cost due to smaller weight, low consumption cost of cement and, in some cases, improved thermal and acoustic performance. However, despite the great potential application of lightweight concrete, there is a lack of studies regarding the design criteria of elements made of this material type. The lightweight concretes have different strength properties when compared to conventional concrete, thus require special design criteria. As there is no specific Brazilian standard, the design is taken to be similar to the design principles of conventional concrete. In this context, the present study aims to evaluate design criteria for lightweight concrete elements in compression, shear and bending available in national and international standardization and specific technical literature. The study includes both the analysis of the design criteria for the Ultimate Limit State (ULS) and for checking the Limit State Service (LLS). Finally, cases are compared assessing beams, slabs and walls on four different types of lightweight concrete, taking into account factors such as material consumption, cost, weight and cement consumption.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Associação da ocorrência de cianobactérias às variações de qualidade do efluente na lagoa de estabilização de Santa Eudóxia – São Carlos, SP e suas interferências no corpo receptor(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-04-22) Morales, Fernanda Igual; Kellner, Erich; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6855091004957784; Cordeiro, João Sergio; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2572864522562875; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8226377172142459Wastewater stabilization ponds are an efficient method of decomposition organic matter in sewage treatment. Both biotic factors such as abiotic act in the ponds. Cyanobacteria are one of biotic factors of great importance to the process of sewage purification. Lot of nutrients can can result in high density cyanobacteria, characterized as eutrophication. These can release cyanotoxins that can harm health human and animal when in contact with them. Physical and chemical parameters are associated with both the presence of cyanobacteria and with the quality of the receiving body and allows evaluating compliance or not the standards required by legislation. Correlate the cyanobacteria density with the physical and chemical parameters and evaluate the receiving body in relation to the released effluent, were the objectives of this work. Quantitative and qualitative analysis of cyanobacteria were realized, and analyzes of the physico-chemical parameters according to Hach manual, and statistical analysis (regression analysis). The phosphorus and nitrogen analyzes have values close to those found in the literature. But phosphorus values downstream demonstrate inadequacy with the rules. The temperature in the pond is higher than the river, characterized by biochemical reactions that take place in this environment. The dissolved oxygen concentration was within the standards and remained in relation to previous studies. The pH and turbidity also attended the law. It has been found through mathematical model, which was thermal stratification in most months in the pond, with the pond in complete mixing in only four months. Statistical analysis showed a positive correlation between cyanobacteria and total nitrogen concentration, but a negative correlation with the effluent temperature. About the cyanobacteria in the pond the main genera found were Merismopedia, Oscillatoria and Pseudanabaena and in the river both upstream as downstream were Microcystis, Pseudanabaena and Limnothrix, indicating the toxic potential of these individuals in the water. The cyanobacteria values in the river downstream mainly, exceeded the value limit of the legislation. In general, some parameters exceeded the limits, but not damaged strongly the quality of the receiving body.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, O produto tensorial não abeliano de grupos e aplicações(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-04-22) Figueiredo, Gustavo Cazzeri Innocencio; Santos, Edivaldo Lopes dos; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2167472456497730; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6375575815874809The nonabelian tensor square GG of a group G was introduced by R. K. Dennis [8] in a search for new homology functors having a close relationship to K-theory and it is based on the work of C. Miller [14]. Subsequently R. Brown and J.-L. Loday [6] discovered a topological significance for the tensor square, namely, that the third homotopy group of the suspension of an Eilenberg MacLane space K(G; 1) satisfies _3 SK(G; 1) _ _= ker(_1), where _1 : GG ! G is the “comutator homomorphism”: _1(gh) = [g; h] = ghg1h1, 8g; h 2 G. They also defined the tensor product GH of two distinct groups acting “compatibly” on each other and showed that it arose in a certain “universal crossed square”. The main purpose of this work is to present the first properties of the nonabelian tensor product of groups and its applications in homotopy theory.
