Determinantes das estruturas de governança das fecularias na compra de mandioca no estado do Paraná

In the agri-chain of cassava starch in Brazil, the supply of firms is through different governance structures. These structures range from the purchase via the spot market - without any contractual control over the production - to the hierarchy or vertical integration, structure in which the company is growing in own areas, with full control over the production. Between these two extremes were also identified other governance structures, which are called Hybrid arrangements that can approach the spot market or hierarchy. This essay aimed to identify the factors that influence the decisions of the paranaenses starch factories on the governance structures in buying - cassava supply in the state of Paraná. The specific objectives are: a) show if there is specifics that support the necessity to search for a particular organizational arrangement to the detriment of business through the spot market in the state of Paraná; b) analyze the factors that justify the choices of cassava starch factories for plural or singular forms in the state of Paraná; c) comparing the efficiency of the use or the combination of governance mechanisms in cassava starch factories in Paraná State, considering idleness as an index for the year 2014. The entire analysis of this essay is based on the theoretical assumptions of the New Institutional Economics (NIE), especially in the Transaction Cost Economics (TCE). In this essay the explanatory method was the most appropriate, once for this it sought to identify the determining factors for the occurrence of the phenomena observed: i) coexistence of plural forms of governance to coordinate the purchase of cassava by starch factories in Brazil and in the state of Paraná. This research method more approach the scientific knowledge to the real world as it explains the reason and why the facts. In the case of cassava, the characteristics of transactions - temporal and locational characteristics, as well as uncertainty and frequency – were not relevant for the choice of governance structures, on the contrary to what literature indicates. Even considering these characteristics, in Brazil and in the state of Paraná was prevailing the coordination by the spot market. The results also indicated the existence of a plurality of transactions in many levels - with different agents, and similar agents in a single transaction - since the combination of different governance structures can reduce transaction costs and even increase the efficiency of industry here measured by the reduction of industrial idleness.

The present research is guided in discourse analysis "about" and "the" practice of security officers at "Cracolândia" (or Crackland) - located in the central region of São Paulo. The main purpose is to identify the differentiation between users and drug dealers by the officers. The empirical view focuses the Municipal Program to Combat Crack and Other Drugs, entitled "Open Arms", which foresees the intersectorality between the work of Social Welfare, Health and Public Safety in the "fight" to crack. I discuss my object from the speeches of security officers, social workers, health workers and crack users on how policing will be in the region as well as on how it is performed in practice. Documental and field research was performed with different agents that act on the management and use of crack users in the region of "Cracolândia". From the field data, it was possible to note the production of a criminal selectivity in how to operationalize the distinction between users and dealers, question to which I would like to give attention. Thus, I try to fill a gap in the studies of public policies to combat the drug in relation to the apparatus of control exercised by state agents of public security in the region of "Cracolândia".

For any action in fauna’s conservation it is necessary to have the previous knowledge of the species in order to adopt the best intervention strategies and to optimize the process. This way, even though the Southern Brown Howler monkey is considered vulnerable to extinction in Sao Paulo State, by the Environment Ministry, few studies on these animals have been conducted at the Fontes do Ipiranga State Park - PEFI, Atlantic Forest urban fragment in the city of Sao Paulo. Therefore, this study is aimed to get basic information about the ecology of the two groups that inhabit the region, as home range, activity pattern and diet, create data in the role they play in the maintenance and regeneration of the forest, as the seed dispersers and to analyze the effects on germination in seeds that passes through their digestive tract. The groups were followed in the period of November 2013 to October 2014, the group in the Zoological Park Foundation of São Paulo (area 1), with the final number of five individuals, and the group in the Botanical Garden of São Paulo (area 2), with final composition of nine individuals, both located in the protected area Fontes do Ipiranga State Park - PEFI. The areas belong to different zoning in the management plan of the protected area, and have different degrees of conservation of its forest. Each group was monitored monthly for three full days. Diet items were recorded by the ad libitum method and subsequently identified, totaling 55 species. Syagrus romanzoffiana highlighted by the large participation in the diet of both groups. The seed germination tests comparing a control group (seeds that have not passed through the digestive tract) with samples taken from animal feces showed a significant positive effect on Ficus luschnathiana and Cecropia spp. seeds. The home range was determined by the method of the Minimum Convex Polygons with points being marked in the GPS every half hour, and found home range of 3.5 ha and 5.6 ha for the area’s groups 1 and 2, respectively. The activity pattern was made by the scan sampling method, with scanning every ten minutes and resulted in the usual pattern described for the species: high percentages of time spent resting and low social interaction.

Continuous flow technology of cycloheptanic compounds derived from (R)-(–)-carvone and the C23-C31 fragment used in the total synthesis of spirangien A methyl ester and spirodienal A polyketides” In the first part of this thesis is described the improvement and development of two synthetic routes to the cycloheptenone 73, in the deca-gram scale, from the monoterpene (R)-(–)-carvone (58). Were developed reactions in the continuous flow mode to accelerate and increase the scale production of 73, and thus avoiding chemical logistics issues. Sharing the principle of the diversity oriented synthesis and taking advantage from the cycloheptanic chiron flexibility, were developed α-carbonyl alkylations followed by catalysis with transition metal, to get, in a fast way, structurally diverse compounds such as spiro 74, guaiane type 75, xathane 76 and the tris-ketal compound 78. The second part of this thesis encompasses some results of our collaboration with Prof. Steven V. Ley CBE FRS and deals with the synthesis acceleration of the fragment 145 through the usage of continuous flow processes. The compound 145 is an advanced synthetic intermediate for the spirangien A (79), spirangien A methyl ester (80) and spirodienal A (81) syntheses, which are on matter at the Prof. Ley`s group. xxiii

This research is the analysis of the trajectory of Super National Festivals of Super8 film, an initiative of the Group of Independent Filmmakers Experimental Films (GRIFE) of São Paulo, of its first edition in 1973 until 1983, when the festival ends. The idea is to give an overview of this important chapter of Brazilian cinema, which has not aroused great interest among researchers of cinema. To this end I make use of extensive documentation and critical fortune composed around the national superoitista production as articles in newspapers and magazines, exhibitions catalogs, etc., as well as historical documents related to the realization of GRIFE’s Super Festivals.
Profissionais da mídia em São Paulo : um estudo sobre profissionalismo, diferença e gênero no jornalismo

The aim of this study is to analyze how professionalism, difference, gender and generation in the journalism career are articulated, from the exam of the journalists’ discourses in the city of São Paulo. We use up the concept of professionalism and the Sociology of the Professions theoretical reference, based on the contributions of Eliot Freidson and Julia Evetts to understand the values of journalism, the representations around what it would be the journalist’s function, the meaning of the changes in the profession, with the emergency of a new journalist’s profile, the relations of the profession with the learning at the universities and at the editorial rooms, the historical changes according to the orientation of the journal and the professional, and their specificities with reference to the process of professionalization of the journalism in Brazil. Our aim is to comprehend how female journalists are represented in different discourses of difference. For this, our approach is set on the Avtar Brah’s theoretical assumptions, highlighting the concept of difference as an analytical category and its several meanings. We have also based our analysis on other cultural studies agents that discuss about the decentralization of the subject and its identity, as the internal diversity that characterizes gender. Fifteen journalists were interviewed, women and men, who live and work in the city of São Paulo, of different generations who act in different types of media and with different types of hire in their relations of work. The selection of the interviewed women searched, contemplate single women professionals, married, with or without children, with different time of work, that represent the time dedicated to the personal and professional lives, corresponding to the impact of personal life in the construction of the career and to the possibilities to balance between these two dimensions in the social life.
