The training of teacher educators is a underexplored research topic, therefore, this research aims to understand some functions of the learning process and the constitution of aspects of professionality of teacher educators in exercise in the early years of elementary school. The education research was based on theoretical and methodological assumptions of the autobiographical approach and the teacher education, having been developed a virtual space in order to provide an online learning community in which the forming of teachers could take their experiences as possibility of analysis and reflection aspects that constituted their professionalism as a educator. The online extension course called "Educators of the early years of Elementary education: formative routes and autobiographical" was held at the Portal Teachers UFSCar (www.portaldosprofessores.ufscar.br) in the period April-November 2013 and certified by the Pro-Rectory of the UFSCar extension. The interactions between the participants occurred in the discussion forums with the mediation of the researcher-forming and preparation of memorials that formed the data corpus of research that included seventeen participants, forming teachers who work in the early years of elementary school, both in the school context as in municipal or state school systems. The movement of "being virtual together" in an online education proposal and collaborative education was analyzed based on the narratives produced. Realizing that the professional education takes place in a continuum and that the experiences of practice and education provide different apprenticeship of the function, we highlight the importance of a collaborative reflection on these routes according as the participants indicated the importance of the other educator to recognize themselves as formers, as well as its role in this function. It was possible to analyze the constitution of the aspects of their professionalism in a search to define the educator’s role, in the desire to be recognized by the specificity of its function, the indication of the weaknesses of your routine, the difficulties that appear on tasks related to the action of the educator which make it impossible to control their action. We noted some gaps in the belonging feeling of these formers in a collective where it could be possible expose their experiences of acting and justify their actions, enabling that their knowledge could be shared. This research announces the need of continuous education for the educators, and the online learning community inserted in this study showed very promising for the development of continuing education projects for teacher educators. As main results we highlight the influence of experiences lived in the profession and the working conditions in which made it possible to carry over into his work as teachers educators. A specific knowledge that stands out in the educator's role is to promote the professional development of teachers. For this, the educators need to utilize their expertise and their pedagogical knowledge content to take the classroom as an object of knowledge to the teachers themselves. A specific knowledge that stands out in the educator's role is to promote the professional development of teachers. For this, the educators need to utilize their expertise and their pedagogical knowledge of the content to take the classroom as an object of knowledge to the teachers themselves. This can be only achieved by the intervention of the educator, promoting studies that take the pedagogical practice as a focus and analyze the knowledge involved, the opportunities of progress and performance for teachers. It is necessary to ensure that the educators are, first, recognized for this role, and have time and space to participate in continuous education activities that stimulate reflection by the interaction with other professionals who play the role of teacher educators, having as a wire conductor changes in the ways of teaching as promoters of better student learning conditions.

Relação entre a amplitude de dorsiflexão do tornozelo e a cinemática do membro inferior durante a corrida
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-02-24) Santos, Daniel Augusto dos; Serrão, Fábio Viadanna; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8137335642635433; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0266200471915177
The reduction in dorsiflexion has been related to the presence of movement patterns in the knee and hip potentially injurious the patellofemoral joint in various tasks. However, no studies have evaluated the association during running. The aim of this study was to investigate the association between the range of ankle dorsiflexion and the kinematics of the hip, knee and ankle during the stance phase of the running. Were recruited 39 healthy runners of both genders and aged between 18 and 35 years. The evaluation of ankle dorsiflexion amplitude was performed by lunge test. The kinematics of the running on a treadmill was performed using the Qualisys motion capture system. Pearson correlation was performed to evaluate the association between the range of ankle dorsiflexion and kinematic variables. Three kinematic variables were significantly associated with the range of ankle dorsiflexion: peak knee flexion (r = .510, p = .001), peak lateral rotation of the knee (r = -.527, p = .001) and peak ankle dorsiflexion (r= .377, p = .022). Whereas the decreased knee flexion and ankle dorsiflexion, and the increase in lateral rotation of the knee, increase the burden on the patellofemoral joint, limitation of ankle dorsiflexion range may be related to the origin of patellofemoral pain in runners.

To Study is a class of behavior as complex as relevant in modern society, and such as, should be taught to children and teenagers in order to promote adequate repertoires for this process to occur effectively and autonomously. Studies developed with the objective of training educators to promote appropriate behavior studies indicate the importance of this kind of initiative; access opportunities of this kind, however, is limited to subjects participating in these studies. Based on the teaching programming as established procedure for the preparation of appropriate teaching conditions, and self-preparation as a comprehensively way provide adult education, this study aimed to develop a program to self-prepare of parents and teachers as promoting agents of appropriate behaviors of studies of children and examining the process of development of educational programs itself in terms of favoring and adverse conditions of using represented technology. The development of the program involved: preparation of an teaching program for teacher training (Step I), integration of teacher’s program with one for the preparation of parents, previously produced by other programmer (Step II) and the project writing of the unified program to training parents and teachers (Step III). In terms of the unified program, four terminals objectives were proposed, 22 intermediate objectives of more generic level described in the form of behavioral relations and 731 in more specific levels, corresponding to expressed behavioral relationships synthetically. These objectives were sequenced and arranged in order to compose a 14 modules program, structured in units developed from a regular standard structural and graphic with teaching conditions that promote active participation of learners in each unit, requirements are made in small steps or stages of learning, informative consequences on performance for each evaluation activity (immediate feedback), and considering potential characteristics of learners (whose initial repertoire was defined in the program preparation process). The produced material shall become accessible to the population that may need it through publication and available for review through systematic and controlled applications. With regard to the program preparation process, it was possible to identify conditions that interfered both positively and negatively in the process (programmer's repertoire, access to experts on the subject, self-correcting condition of the program among others) and highlight measures taken in relation to variables that negatively influenced the process, as well needs for further study, process improvement and subsidies for it uses, given its relevance as a tool to produce more effective and socially relevant teaching-learning processes.

The purpose of this dissertation is to identify the elements that favor (or not) students’ engagement in learning physics based on the relation to knowledge theoretical framework proposed by the French philosopher Bernard Charlot. In order to that, we characterized students relation to physics knowledge identifying their conceptions about school physics, school, the act of learning, themselves as learners at school and understand how their life and school experiences give light to the phenomena under study. We collected information from a population of 142 high school students from public or private schools at São Carlos. This PhD research was executed in three steps which the previous one oriented the actions implemented of the next one. During the first step, we applied a questionnaire in order to characterize students’ relation to school knowledge in general and students’ relation to physics knowledge and we analyzed the information collected using content analysis (analysis of categories). During the second step, we elaborated profiles of relation to physics knowledge implementing cluster analysis to a set of categories created in the previous step. During the third step, we interviewed 15 students in order to identify the elements the favors or not students’ engagement in Physics learning. We analyzed interviews contents using content analysis (analysis of themes). We concluded that the elements that favors or not students’ engagement in learning physics are related to physics knowledge itself, to teaching actions in physics classrooms and the effects those actions produce, to others and the relation the subject maintains to his/herself.

This study aimed to analyze the relationship between cognition, frailty, urden and depressive symptoms in older caregivers from rural communities of Sao Carlos, Brazil. The study was exploratory and analytical. Approved by the Ethics Committee of the interviews were conducted in homes with two or more elderly. We used scales for basic activities (BADL) and instrumental (IADL) of daily living evaluation(Katz and Lawton), sociodemographic and care information forms, the Addenbrooke’s Cognitive Examination - Revised (ACE-R), that includes the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) for global cognitive assessment and domains (Attention/Orientation, Memory, Verbal Fluency, Language and Visospatial Skills), frailty evaluation according to Fried’s phenotype (weight loss, fatigue, weakness, slowness and low levels of physical activity), Zarit Burden interviw for assessment of caregiver burden and, in addition, the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS). We interviewed in homes 85 pairs of elderly (85 elderly care recipients and their older caregivers 85). The elderly who were receiving care, most were male (n = 60; 70.5%), mean age of 72 years and 3.78 years of education, pre-frail (42.8%) and with significant frequency cognitive impairment (CI) (45.9%). The elderly caregivers were mostly women (76.7%). The average age was 69 years and 4.35 years of education. Regarding the context of care, 89.4% were taking care of their spouses, an average of 145.68 months (about 12 years), and received help for care (76.5%). The average score for ACE-R was 68.78 points and 24.44 points for the MMSE. 15.3% of caregivers showed evidence for CI, 9.4% were classified as frail, 52.9% were pre-frails and 37.6% non-frails/robusts, 67.1% were classified with a small burden, 24.7% had a moderate burden, 8.2% had severe burden and 84.7% showed no depressive symptoms. Comparison analysis showed that groups with higher levels of burden and frailty had worse cognitive performance and more depressive symptoms compared to those non frails and less burdened. Regression analysis showed that being pre frail represents a decrease of almost 12 points in the ACE-R, in the univariate model, and 8.6 points in the multiple model, interestingly being frail decreased 28 points in the cognitive battery if it is analyzed in the univariate model. In both models, theburden is associated with poor cognitive performance, This association is more intense in the univariate model (β = -7.83; p = 0.02). Being a burdened caregivers decreased nearly 8 points in cognitive battery (p = 0.04), as evidenced in the multiple model. This shows that not only the frail condition, but also burden condition represent a negative relationship with the cognitive performance in older caregivers in rural context. The older caregiver in this context certainly experiences working within the available resources. Longitudinal studies may be ways for in-depth knowledge on the subject. It is recommended the study of variable stress and its relationship to cognitive frailty in caregivers and seek to understand the differences between rural and urban.

The mansoni schistosomiasis is the most important of human helminthiasis. Despite advances in its control this disease continues to spread to new geographical areas. It currently affects more than 250 million people. However, limited options are available for and Praziquantel is the drug of choice. Various authors have been searching new drugs and vaccines to control schistosomiasis. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of a prior immunization with recombinant enzymes of Schistosoma mansoni: Adenosine Kinase (AK) and Hypoxanthine-guanine Phosphoribosyltransferase (HGPRT), which are important for parasite purine metabolism, as well as a MIX of these enzymes, and subsequent challenge with cercariae of the parasite in the control of murine infection. Female Balb/c mice were divided into 5 groups. The groups were enzyme-immunized in three doses and 15 days after the last immunization, animals were infected with S. mansoni. After infection in the 47º day egg count were carried in mice faeces and in the 48º day mice were sacrificed for evaluation of leukocyte numbers (blood and peritoneal cavity), worm burden, antibodies production, cytokines quantification and histopathological analysis of the liver of these animals. Our results strongly suggest that, immunization with a MIX originated in these animals reduction in the number of eggs in faeces by 46% when compared with the animals of the infected group. Animals of the groups immunized with AK, HGPRT and/or MIX seem to induce a reduction in the number of eosinophils in the peritoneal cavity when compared to the animals of the infected group. Concerning worm burden, the animals of the MIX group presented greater reduction (31.27%) when compared to the animals of the infected group. The animals of the immunized groups, AK, HGPRT and/or MIX were capable of producing IgG1 antibodies and IgE anti the enzymes and anti the parasite proteins. The animals of the immunized group MIX showed a slight increase in IL-4 production and observed reduction of IL-10, and in the HGPRT group induced a slight increase on IFN-γ production when in compared with the infected group. In addition, the animals of the AK group showed a decrease in the number of hepatic granulomas in tissue (44,55%) and the eggs present in liver (42,31%). Therefore, it suggests that immunization with these enzymes can contributes to schistosomiasis control, as well as it might helps to modulate experimental infection inducing reduction of physiopathology of this parasitosis.

In Of the Social Contract, Rousseau says that in the civil state the man enjoys individual freedom at the same time as a member of the social body, whose general will is the driving force of the State. That is, the philosopher shows that, on the other hand, the general will, founded through the metaphor of the social body united for the common good of the members, is sovereign to drive life in society and, on the other, the man is to be free in that, as a member of that body, rules your life through laws that he erects on himself, because to be truly master of himself is nothing but to listen the voice of duty or consults the reason, rather than the physical impulse that drives human life in the state of nature. Therefore, according to Gérard Lebrun, Rousseau’s social pact confines the man in the public good, denying him individual freedom. Our research consists to examine as is possible to think the general will and individual freedom in society, aiming to refute the criticism of Lebrun.

The discussion is about the access of Target audience students of Special Education and mainly about their presence in the regular school becomes appropriate. So, in the perspective of scholar inclusion is necessary that the teacher has pedagogical practices to assist and guarantee these conditions. The permanence of these students must be considered from the first years of basic education, even in kindergarten. These early school years are crucial in the human formation of individuals, it´s essential that the teacher, through their teaching and their inclusive pedagogical practices, can include all students, giving them proper conditions for their learning. The pedagogical practices when well-planned and properly applied can produce effective results. Thus, the qualitative approach of research, delineated by descriptive research was conducted in the city of São Carlos, São Paulo, and the participants were three teachers from the public schools. The aim of this study was to investigate the pedagogical practices of Childhood Education teachers who have in their regular classroom, Target audience students of Special Education and as a central question: “How does the pedagogical practice of Childhood Education teachers who have in their regular classroom, Target Audience students of Special Education " Order to answer the question and the goal it used two data collection instrument: field journals and semi structured interviews, and the results of the collected data were analyzed by content analysis, it´s the main category pedagogical practices, organizing the data analyzed by other categories, systematizing them as follows: academic and vocational training, scholar inclusion, planning pedagogical practices, opportunities and challenges, these divided into subcategories. So, following the analysis of these data was achieved as results that despite efforts of teachers to include students Target Audience of Special Education and offer necessary conditions for their learning, there are still some elements that make it impossible the inclusion be, in fact , successfully carried out like the absence of specific training in special education, the absence of cooperation of directors and municipal agencies, as well as the presence of a specialist teacher of special education, the backing of those responsible by the student Target Audience of Special Education and the need to prior planning for activities in the school environment and favoring the interactions of teacher and other Target Audience students of Special Education.

The present study had as its object the investigation of discourses present in the perceptions of the school principal about the school democratization and education in Brazil. Therefore, we seek to understand aspects of the production of subjectivity of public school principal among the speeches and democratization processes experienced in our country. They analyzed the statements of public school principals of municipal Ribeirao Preto, with over fifteen years of experience in office, in order to understand how it produces its subjectivity considering the complexity of relationships in which they operate and social, cultural and historical elements that permeate. The methodological bases used guided in qualitative approaches, theoretical and bibliographic interdisciplinary study, semi-structured taped interviews, nonparticipant observation and analysis of speeches in French perspective. The main theoretical framework adopted, based on the theories of Michel Foucault, includes numerous studies on the analysis of speeches and the subject while production of power relations that is part and elements that make up its historical and social context. We note that the speeches concerning the democratic management often define this school management model as one in which the director allows the students at school entry and family that they give opinions freely. However, in many situations, such access is only allowed for matters involving the student in a timely manner, while other matters concerning the institution remain centralized in the head, leaving him, the final decision. The dicurso democratic management by the free access of parents to school, so keep hidden these mechanisms, Aleem to strengthen the authority of the director, the institution away from behaviors that promote democratization.

The musical education developed in the context of social projects has some specifics. Between them is the prospect that, along with the musical development, be done a contribution in human and social development of individuals. Thus, this research develops an investigation of human development carried out from the educational processes of music in a social project in the state of São Paulo. The compreention of human and his promotion was given by personalist philosophy, expressed especially in Karol Wojtyla. The research has a qualitative approach of a case study. Data collection instruments were observations with registration in field diaries and interviews with individuals in social work. Data analysis was given by content analysis. From reading and analyzing the data were found three analytical focuses: understanding of music and music education; understanding and evaluation of the educational process; and understanding and evaluation of human development. Through them it was possible to understand the significance attributed to the file by the members of the social project as well as the dynamics of its operation. Aspects such as the arrangement of musical and human development goals proved to be important, so that could be conceived the concept of redemptive vision of human development. Other important elements were the understanding of performance and presentations as a means of visibility of the institution and family integration and the need for articulation of essentialist and contextualists aspects of music education. Finally, also stands out the need for appropriate training for professionals who work in this place. By the experiences studied in this context, it was found that the musical development was suppressed in view of the proposal for a human development, which ended up compromising both.Consequently there was only a few non-articulated elements favoring a possible human and social action, which in view of the weak configurations of the educational process have not been explored in order to enhance their formative action.

Under the approach of social studies of Science and technology (STS), tis research has analyzed issues in the current constitution of the mental health field that has taken care of children and adolescents in Brazil. Based on Pierre Bourdieu’s theoretical contribution, a case study was carried out in a Centro de Atenção Psicossocial (CAPSi), in a country in the state of São Paulo, in order to analyzed the institutionalized relations by the multiprofessionals that work in this Center, which is an apparatus implemented by the National Mental Health Policy (PNSM). The methodology was elaborated on corresponding literature to the theme of this research, and the case study was carried out through semi structured interviews with some professionals from CAPSi, through direct observation of the CAPSi’s team meetings, through meetings between the constituting service network to the municipal mental health, and by analyzed the Minutes Meeting of CAPSi’s team. The analysis of the data showed evidence of the dominance of psychiatric science in the epistemological basis that build concepts and institutions mental disorders care, as well as the existence of conflicting paradigms, the psychopharmalogical trivialization, considerations about children and adolescents social leadership and about the non recognition of CAPSi as healthcare institution by the municipal services and by the scholar and juridical fields. With the results of this research, it is expected to contribute to the STS studies and to researchers interested in the theme, intending to generate reflections and reviews about the efficiency and effectivenss of care for children and adolescents diagnosed with mental disorders, and the social position of children and adolescents.

Experimental evidence suggests that the cerebellum plays a more complex role in learning than simply regulating the motor response. Rather, it is thought to play a significant role in the consolidation of emotional memory in mice. Due to the difficulty of interpreting fear and anxiety behaviors - the standard methodology for the study of the histaminergic system and emotional memory - in mice, we propose a behavioral assessment of mice subjected to the Elevated T-Maze after histamine microinjection of the cerebellar vermis. Young male Swiss albino mice weighing 25 – 35 g were used. In addition, locomotor activity was tested in an open field test. Our data suggest that histamine did not affect memory consolidation during escape or open field behavior at the doses used in this study. However, we observed a significant increase in inhibitory avoidance on the second day in animals receiving a dose of 6.8 nmol/0.5μl, suggesting that histamine facilitates the consolidation of inhibitory avoidance in mice.

Sistema híbrido eletroquímico–fotoquímico para a mineralização do herbicida tebutiuron
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-02-24) Sánchez Montes, Isaac José; Aquino, José Mario de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8847710280926769; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8426184376549148
An electrochemical-photochemical system (EC-PC) using a dimensionally stable anode (DSA®) was used to oxidize and mineralize tebuthiuron (TBT) herbicide, which is a potential contaminant to the surface and ground water. The electrochemical process was conducted using a filter-press flow cell and the photochemical one by irradiation of the solution inside the reservoir using Hg vapor lamps (type UVC). The studied variables were: i) nominal power of Hg lamps (5, 9, 80, and 125 W), ii) pH (3, 7, 11, and no control), iii) NaCl concentration (0, 1, 2, and 4 g L–1), and iv) current density (10, 20, and 30 mA cm–2). Other parameters were kept constant, such as the flow rate (420 L h–1) and the solution temperature (25 °C). The electrolyzed solution was composed of 100 mg L–1 TBT and 0.1 mol L–1 Na2SO4, as supporting electrolyte. The oxidation and mineralization performances of the TBT and its intermediates using the hybrid process were assessed through high performance liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS), depending on the experiment, and total organic carbon (TOC) analyses. The experiment using a 9 W Hg lamp led to the complete oxidation and mineralization of TBT and its intermediate compounds in the presence of NaCl from acidic to neutral solutions, including the one with no control, and independently of the applied electrical current density. High CO2 conversions were attained after 6 h using the combined EC-PC process, due to the generation of hydroxyl radicals (HO•) from HOCl homolysis. The HO• also favored the formation of many hydroxylated organic compounds. Despite the formation of an organochlorine byproduct, this compound was completely eliminated after 3 h treatment. Moreover, no toxicity was observed when using the Artemia salina microcrustacean. Similar removal rates of TBT were attained when only using an electrochemical method with boron-doped diamond as anode. In addition, the EC-PC process showed a slightly higher electrical energy consumption for the removal of organic matter in comparison to the electrochemical one. Finally, only a chlorinated carboxylic acid was detected; however, this compound was completely eliminated in the final stages of the EC-PC treatment. All these features enables the classification of this method as an advanced oxidation process.

This study investigated the relationship between the standards of scientific production and the academic formation policy, through the struggles generated between the different positions of agents in collaborative networks, in the field of Education Policy and Management in the Postgraduate Programs in Education from the Northeast Region of Brazil, in the period of fifteen years (2000-2014). Thereunto, supported by the sociological doing and by the scientific field theory of Pierre Bourdieu, the emphasis reflects on the agent that produce an academic representation about the theme of scientific and institutionalized character, as well as the social the conditioning of its practice. The agents inside such a space, endowed with a disposition system, with specific competencies, different species of capital and its interests, confront each other in the struggle to legitimize certain conception of local and regional theme; which is, above all, a way of vision of the academic social world. Methodologically, it sought to establish the structure of the academic production space, through the use of statistical tools, the factory analysis of multiple correspondences and analysis of social networks, in order to objectify and, thereby, to identify the pathway of academic-professional formation of the agents, the organization of scientific collaboration networks, based on bibliographical production of articles, books and chapters in books, as well as, from semi-structured interviews, to observe the materialization of academic space, through interknowledge and the process of legitimization among peers, evidencing thus the position of academic elites in the space of knowledge production in the Education Policy and Management, its organization strategies - individual and group - and establishment of scientific production schedule. From the results obtained in general characterization of the agents' profile, we verified that most of them are female, with academic formation (degree in pedagogy, master's degree in education and doctorate in education) in the Northeast itself, linked to the reduced access to foreign research centers to accomplish the post-doctoral and/or the research trainee, they are neither productivity scholar from CNPq. For the jobs at SBPC, ANPEd and ANPAE, we noticed that the only programs that presented higher frequencies for the presence of these situations were at PPGE/UFPE, PPGE/UECE and PPGE/UFRN. On the other hand, they have an average time of nineteen years of career in public university performing, essentially, in research and teaching, although they participate of scientific journals committees and provide advisory service to the Ministry of Education. The hypotheses initially raised reinforce the thesis of the formation of academic elites and reference groups in the space of knowledge production in Education Policy and Management that contribute to the engendering of legitimate social practices around the game for imposition of speeches about educational policy, academically valid in the context of intensification of the regional asymmetries.

The research now engendered has as a key objective to contribute to overcome the supposed obsolescence that was associated prematurely with the term “tolerance”, especially today. It performs a brief historical contextualization, as well as a biographical matrix, while considering authors who notably contribute to the semantic exploration of how tolerance has become synonymous with asymmetry, even though originally focused on mutual and equal consideration of human coexistence. This paper still investigates some philosophical aspects that underlie the understanding of the tolerant way of acting, based on its integration with rationality, elaborated bearing in mind ideas by Rouanet. Ideologies are presented as detractors of the tolerant way of acting when considering human relationships from the subject-object binomial, focusing on hierarchy. The communicative action of Habermas and Jasper’s Comprehensive present themselves as an alternative to the said binomial perspective. Weighted by Marcuse and Arendt, the limits and purposes of tolerating demonstrate the political importance of the discussion on the subject. Finally, it is intended to overcome the preconceptualization of this subject, since this is a naïve attitude, belonging to the ideological view aimed at domination. To achieve this, we used the initiatives taken up tolerance as a concept to be taught and therefore pedagogically located in school education. This was made possible by the philosophical foundations provided by Walzer and Freire, and also the intellectual efforts of practical proposals to teach to tolerate.

Phenylalanine ammonia lyase (PAL) catalyzes the non-oxidative deamination of L-Phe. It is an important enzyme in the production of enantio-pure mixtures of phenylalanine. Besides being important in plant secondary metabolism, PAL has also been used both for industrial applications as in the treatment of leukemia and phenylketonuria. The PAL have high similarity with histidine ammonia lyase (HAL) and it is believed that the PAL originated from HAL. Use of HAL termini sequences, previously obtained from the metagenome of Poraquê Lake (03°57' S, 63°10' W) to produce an engineered enzyme. The HAL assembled from them had its catalytic core exchanged by one which was designed from the previously described PAL sequences. Thus, We aim to shift the HAL activity making it active in the presence of phenylalanine through an easy protocol. Our phylogenetic analysis shows a clear division between plant and fungal PALs, and showed that recombination played a key role in the separation of these groups. In addition, We also observed that PAL catalytic core is conserved despite positive selection operating in protein termini. The recombinant enzyme, mPAL_c1, was produced in insoluble form and was refolded in vitro. mPAL_c1, when using L-Phe as substrate, has a TOPT. of 30°C (at pH 7.5 with 2mM MnCl2), KM of 55μM and Kcat/KM of 0.01633 mM-1s-1. The activity of mPAL_c1 showed about 30% of activity of commercial PAL from Rhodotorula toruloides at 2 mM L-Phe. Activation of mPAL_c1 was tested through substrate concentration rising from 2 mM to 5 mM of L-Phe, and its activity was almost 5 times higher. The results still suggest a histidine ammonia lyase remnant activity. The low catalytic rates are justified due to protein aggregation and misfolding, detected by size exclusion chromatography and by circular dichroism. In summary, our protocol has proved to be useful in protein design.

The frailty syndrome has been described as an important geriatric syndrome by being associated with an increased risk of functional decline, falls, institutionalization, hospitalization and death. In addition, some studies have found an association with cognitive decline and low level of physical activity. The study aims were (a) to verify the influence of frailty syndrome, level of physical activity and cognition on Timed Up and Go test (TUG) and Timed Up and Go associated with dual task (TUG-DT) performances; and (b) to compare TUG and TUG-DT performances between older adults who developed frailty syndrome. Sixty-four individuals were divided into frail, pre-frail and non-frail groups. The assessment consisted of cognition (ACE-R), physical activity level (triaxial accelerometer), isolated secondary task, TUG and TUG-DT. For statistical analysis, one-way ANOVA or Chi-square tests were used to compare groups. Multiple linear regression to identify variables that could predict the time performance in TUG and TUG-DT, and, ANCOVA to compare the three groups. Regarding the characteristics of the sample, the groups presented homogeneous, except gender, which showed more women in the pre-frail group. Significant differences in daily physical activity level were found in the frail group for energy expenditure, time sitting/lying, time standing, time stepping and step count variables. There were no differences in ACE-R total score, however, there was difference between the frail group and non-frail just in attention and orientation domain. The isolated secondary task was influenced cognition during its realization, but there were no differences between groups. TUG performance was not influenced by age, physical activity level or frailty, however, frail group differed from non-frail group in time and number of steps. Regarding the performance of the elderly in TUG-DT, cognition and age influenced the time of completion and number of steps, respectively, however, no differences were found between groups. The results show that the performance of the TUG is influenced by the presence of the frailty syndrome, age and of physical activity level and the performance of the TUG-DT is influenced by age and cognition.

This present paper, initiated in 2013, aims to investigate which meanings are attributed by Portuguese teachers at the State Public Network in a city of São Paulo on the main actions of Continuing Education offered by the Ministry of Education in the period of 2009 -2014 in the context of Educational Achievement Assessment System of São Paulo State (SARESPPortuguese initials). The survey data have three sources: documents concerning the SARESP and continuing education programs of the Department of Education of the State of São Paulo, the questionnaire and the interviews of the selected teachers to search. It is worth mentioning the involvement of the researcher in this process, since she is involved in the training of teachers as a Professor Coordinator of the Pedagogical Center with the Educational Board, a relationship which enabled the construction of the research unrest. The main theoretical frameworks for the discussion of the theme of the project are: VYGOTSKY (2000) for a discussion of "sense and meaning" BALL (2001,2004, 2005), for analysis of "global policy guidelines," AFONSO (2009), FREITAS (2011, 2012, 2014) and LUCKESI (2006, 2008, 2011) for discussions on assessment, GATTI (2008, 2009), NÓVOA (1992) and PEREZ GOMES (1992) for teacher training, ANDRÉ and LÜDKE (2013) for qualitative research approach in education. From the analysis of the collected data can be inferred that the relationship between external evaluation and teacher training has progressively undermined these actions over the years, primarily by emphasizing the subjects charged at SARESP and prioritize the issues that make up the evidence. Regarding the meanings attributed by the teachers you can see that they recognize the teacher accountability processes as a result of external evaluation of policies; They realize the importance of continuing education and the influence of external assessments of such training and asked that the formations consider their experiences, their practice and the context in which they develop their activities.
