[EN]This research aimed to understand what is manifest in the mathematical practices of members of the remaining community of quilombos of Agrovila Espera, Alcântara - MA, in their everyday social practices, questioning them from their not universal and decoding the effects of significance and meaning assigned to them by community members. The study that led to this text was developed through a qualitative research of ethnographic and analyzes were assisted by ethnographic microanalysis with the support of elements of philosophical thought of Ludwig Wittgenstein. Part initially of theorizing of what became known as “early Wittgenstein” to forward understandings about the notions of “Wittgenstein”, in particular the language of games, trying to present contributions to research in mathematics education that apply to the Ethnomathematics. The leading practice was to manufacture and “empaneiramento” of cassava flour and observations and interviews with audio recordings and video, helped in understanding the dynamics of social relations that are established in the community who have the mathematical practice their sense of existence. It is emphasized that the intertwining of Wittgenstein's notions with the speeches of individuals, allowed also to understand how the mathematical language games that make up and characterize such practices and that remain in its different uses, collaborate for the development of their social practices relating to work and livelihood. The made bibliographic studies and research developed ethnographic allowed further understand that since the 1980s, when the start of dispossession, displacement and resettlement for the implementation of the Alcantara Launch Center (CLA), there is the systematic loss of traditions and socio-cultural aspects of these people and, among them, their mathematical practices. Compulsory changes in their lives, also caused changes in their ways of relating to other communities and interrelate with their own members by changing their historical social practices.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Studies on emotional aspects in the design of user interfaces(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-11-25) Bianchi, Renata Germano; Neris, Vânia Paula de Almeida; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0268728255033469; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6430242746242972Emotions play a crucial role in the way people interact with each other, objects and computing systems, and are a key factor in human-computer interaction. The choice of the appropriate elements for a user interface may result in a better experience of how it can be used. However, most studies investigate people’s preferences and visual aesthetics, without taking into account people’s emotion in the design. This dissertation carries out a series of detailed studies on the emotional effects of user interface elements, by examining colors, fonts and images. A critical analysis of the literature (through a systematic review) combined to the Semantic Space of Emotions, which covers a broad spectrum of emotions, resulted in the proposal of Bianchi’s Color Wheel. An empirical study was conducted on the emotional effects of font types and sizes; this involved 60 users and was necessary because there are so few studies on fonts and emotions in the literature. With regard to font types, in statistical terms, it was found there were no significant differences, although Arial was more closely linked to positive emotions than Times New Roman in the discourse analysis. Small font sizes, 8pt, caused negative experiences and led to tiredness, while medium (12pt) and large (16pt) sizes were mainly related to pleasant and comforting experiences. The third study investigated tagged and felt emotions evoked by images which were collected through social tags that were clearly related to emotions. The aim of the study was to determine whether or not these images are reliable for the design and retrieval. Thus, an online survey was planned and carried out by a group of 410 volunteers who classified pictures from Flickr. The results suggested that there are some emotions tagged that were similar to observers emotions, while others are diffuse and need other criteria for their selection apart from social tags. Finally, it should be mentioned that further studies are needed to address the complete user interface with all these elements and findings combined.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Verificação do atendimento das recomendações do mapeamento de riscos a inundações no município de Sorocaba - SP(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-11-25) Arruda, Marcia Magalhães de; Sola, Fernanda; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2265749626773521; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7926-6378; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2502052957759675; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3964-4818This case study presents the profile of the neighborhoods Jardim Abaeté, Parque Vitória Régia, and Parque São Bento, which are classified as medium-risk (R2) and high-risk (R3) flood areas in the North Zone of Sorocaba. The main objective of the research is to assess the management of natural risks based on the guidelines proposed in the Summary of the Risk Mapping Results of the Municipality of Sorocaba, an annex to the Risk Area Mapping for Landslides and Floods prepared by the Geological Institute in 2015. Through the hypothetical-deductive method, bibliographic and documentary research, and the use of the software Google Earth and ArcGIS, an analysis was conducted on the urbanization process and its socio-environmental impacts, with an emphasis on the concepts of risk and vulnerability, examining the adoption of structural and non-structural measures by public authorities aimed at preventing natural disasters. It was evident that measures have been implemented to mitigate the population's risk, with highlights including the construction of a retention basin in Jardim Abaeté, the installation of dikes in Parque Vitória Régia, the relocation of families from risk areas in Parque São Bento, and the installation of a data collection platform (DCP) that monitors the water level of the Sorocaba River and the municipality's rainfall index. The research indicates that the lack of dredging of the Sorocaba River for several years; inadequate urban drainage planning; real estate speculation on land; irregular occupation of floodplains; absence of riparian vegetation in certain areas; high average precipitation levels; and the characteristics of the local terrain are the main factors causing Sorocaba and its neighborhoods to still suffer from flooding during the rainy season, especially in the summer period.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Narrativas educativas de professoras que atuam na EJA: percepções sobre gênero e sexualidade(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-11-25) Santos, Luiz Fábio; Nakayama, Bárbara Cristina Moreira Sicardi; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9746628149674449; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0946348536052241This paper reports a research linked to the Center for Studies and Research on Narratives, Training and Teaching Work (Nepen) developed at the Graduate Program in Education of the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) - Campus Sorocaba. The research is focused on perceptions about gender and sexuality to teachers who work in the Youth and Adult Education (EJA). The issue that guides the development of this research of the following question: What are the perceptions about gender and sexuality evidenced in educational narratives produced by teachers who work in adult education and from them which settings can guide their educational practices? The research aims to seek to understand the perceptions of gender and sexuality to teachers who work in adult education and the importance of discussing these issues in the statement of respect for differences in school; point out problems for convergence between education and issues related to gender and sexuality in the adult education and discuss the perceptions of gender and sexuality in the relationship of the daily school EJA driving the reflection on the values that mark our society. To answer this problem the study is structured from a qualitative perspective and uses for production data preparation of educational narratives in the context of an extension course offered for education professionals working in adult education. As a methodological theoretical framework considered the contributions of Freire (1976,1996,1988); Valdés (2014) and Vóvio (2013) for the reasoning of EJA; Louro (1997, 2000, 2009, 2011) and Miskolci (2010, 2015) for reasons of gender and sexuality; Bogdan and Biklen (1994), Deslauriers and Kérisit (2012), Thiollent (2011), Tripp (2005); Sicardi Nakayama (2015), Bardin (1977) and Franco (2005), for reasons of methodological route and analyze data. For teacher training: Sicardi (2008), Cunha (1998) and Nóvoa (2009). The results foresee possible educational subsidies for improving the social quality of education in classrooms of AYE.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, IPS: um plug-in para templates de códigos associativos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-11-25) Moraes, Rodrigo Vieira de; Guimarães, José de Oliveira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1861719424612392; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7919040444278953The APIs are becoming increasingly more popular and they play a important role in software development. However, many APIs are large and complex that makes them hard to learn. Among avaliable resources to learn to use an API, there are the code samples. A code sample can be used to demonstrate to a programmer how to use API’s components together to attain a specific goal. But, code sample are static and they haven’t information about how to adapt the code snippet shown as example to programmer’s context. Tools have been proposed to assist the programmers in finding and adapting code snippets that may be useful for a programming task. A specific type of these tools are the code template tools. Code templates are code snippets manually registered containing integration directives. The integration directives instruct the code template tool on how to adapt a code snippet to programmer’s context. In this work, code snippet tools are investigated and it is proposed a code template tool called IPS. It presents some novelties in relation to other code template tools. In the IPS, a code template can be associated to a Java class and the IPS has a code template recommender that is automatically updated as the source code is edited by the programmer. Also it is proposed the role parameters, a new concept for the parameters of code templates that extends the concept of the parameters associated to a type which is present in current code template tools. The role parameters has the objective of accepting arguments that would at first be incompatible with a specific type, but that obey a expected pattern.
