This subject is explored by means of the current view of the scientific profile and the historical course of the profession from written and oral sources, reflecting on knowledge, conceptions and perspectives produced by occupational therapists up to the present time, including external and internal forces that make up the production of knowledge and action fields. The objective of this research is to understand the processes of production of knowledge about Brazilian Occupational Therapy by means of professional trajectories, theoretical and methodological production, conceptions and perspectives. It is about an exploratory research of a subject that is supposed to be revised nowadays with a qualitative and participant approach bringing the participants to the dialogue and composition of the text. Plural methodological procedures, articulated and compound, have been included at the presentation of results. Researchers who invest on general subjects of the Brazilian Occupational Therapy have been identified through a mapping process. Two identified researchers and three occupational therapists indicated by them are the interlocutors of this work, because of their production of dialogues about Brazilian Occupational Therapy in a comprehensive way. These interlocutors have been interviewed to get to know their trajectories, conceptions, perspectives and production about Occupational Therapy. Historical routes, challenges about the profession in Brazil, their construction of knowledge and debate on identity have been presented. It reflects about fundamentals, epistemology and theoretical and methodological perspectives, objects of study, concepts, conceptions and knowledge of Occupational Therapy in Brazil along history and at the present time. The aim is to value the diversity of expressions, stories and the interlocutors' individual production as well as to relate to their trajectories and experiences in knowledge production, which currently contribute for the composition of the net of knowledge about the profession. By means of their individual trajectory and its context, it is possible to find connections and instigating components for knowledge production about the profession. By gathering action fields, knowledge areas, references, support nets and other interlocutors, it has been possible to map part of the composition of the net of knowledge production of the profession at the present time. Some changes and transformation have been observed in the way of conceiving a profession, of acting and producing knowledge which influences on the national identity of Occupational Therapy and its epistemologic construction. It has been possible to explore the field, make up stories, memories, trajectories and reflect on produced knowledge about the profession in Brazil, thus, conceiving history and memory as collective and social constructions, identifying this way, producers and interlocutors of this knowledge and outstanding connection points in their trajectory, valuing knowledge production about Brazilian Occupational Therapy, and contributing for a discussion around general knowledge about the profession, its fundamentals, epistemology, identity, concepts, conceptions and perspectives, theoretical and methodological, in the Brazilian and contemporary context.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Relational structure in the global automotive industry: groups, networks and fields(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12) Sacomano Neto, Mário; Matui, Paulo César; Candido, Silvio Eduardo Alvarez; Amaral, Roniberto Morato do; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0000793038362058Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the network structure of automotive companies linked by cross-shareholding, joint ventures, manufacturing contracts and alliances, from 2004 to 2012. The study also explored how the network structure affects the competition in the field. Design/methodology/approach: The sample involved 3695 dyads. Based on this data, it was possible to build and assess networks using Gephi and UCINET software. The study considered network analysis metrics such as centrality, group and network densities temporally. Thus, associated with a contextual and longitudinal analysis, the construction of sociograms allowed visualization of the interactional structure and the automakers’ position in the field. Findings: Results showed that the internationalization and growth of automakers and suppliers are made possible through these relationships among companies (cross-shareholding, joint ventures, manufacturing contracts and alliances). Connections may generate greater power, access to resources and market opportunities. It also enhanced the elaboration of inferences about how these resources influence the competition in the field. Originality/value: The increasing importance of this relational resource shapes the industry competitive structure, which is composed of cooperative and competitive relationships found in meso-level orders.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Análise do estado de conservação do manguezal do rio Sergipe(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-01) Soares, Marcelo Steinmetz; Soares, João Juares; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6093800182799882; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1377239701436382Mangroves are ecological systems at the interface between marine and terrestrial regions and subjected to natural disturbances of the stressful environment and anthropogenic actions due to urban development. The mangrove of the Rio Sergipe suffers high environmental pressure because this river, in addition to bathe the capital of the State of Sergipe and other cities in the region, is surrounded by agricultural areas and aquaculture tanks. The objective of this work was to analyze the state of conservation of this mangrove considering the structure of the vegetation, human interference by the presence and quantification of trash and burrows of crabs, regeneration capacity through the quantification of individuals regenerating and elaboration of environmental vulnerability map. The results obtained show that the mangrove vegetation of Rio Sergipe presents, for the most part, good condition considering their structure and composition. Aspects such as the presence and number of burrows of crabs give indications of anthropogenic interference. Environmental vulnerability analysis demonstrated a high degree of susceptibility considering the set of information about the type, use and occupation of the soil, geology, geomorphology and climate. Considering the set of information in this paper can be considered that the mangrove forest of Rio Sergipe is in good condition, but is susceptible to anthropogenic interference of various natures because of their degree of vulnerability and the occupation and human exploration. So it is recommended if intense surveillance and awareness of the importance of the mangrove forest.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Influência da região de extração em propriedades físicas e mecânicas da madeira de Cupiúba (Goupia Glabra Aubl)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-02) Silva, Carlos Eduardo Gomes da; Christoforo, André Luis; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7623383075429186; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7765163970552265This research aimed to investigate, with the aid of the Brazilian standard NBR 7190 (1990) Wood Structures Project, of the Kruskal-Wallis analysis of variance (ANOVA), and the regrouping bootstrap technique, the influence of extraction regions Caracaraí, Bonfim and Claudia, in physical and mechanical properties of Cupiúba wood (Goupia Glabra Aubl), and assess the possibility of estimate (linear, exponential, geometric and logarithmic mathematical models) the physical and mechanical properties investigated as a function of density. The results of ANOVA indicated equivalence in 94% of the properties of the regions of Caracaraí and Claudia, and no equivalence in 50% of the properties in the region of Bonfim, even after extrapolated by the bootstrap technique, the non-equivalence was still 44%, whereas the results obtained from the regression model implied a possibility of an estimate of the physical and mechanical properties of Cupiúba wood due to its apparent density.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Análise da inserção da educação ambiental no volume I do currículo do 6° ano/5ª série do ensino fundamental do estado de São Paulo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-05) Timoteo, Camila Kwiatkoski; Di Tullio, Ariane; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9511903187279525; Logarezzi, Amadeu José Montagnini; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6153358744019882; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1394593387253518The current environmental situation is a worrying scenario, making it inevitable to take different measures that result in solutions that overcome social and environmental challenges, pointing to a world of sustainable societies. As an important part of the complex and articulated group of necessary measures, education is essential, since it is capable of raising awareness that mobilizes people for social transformation. Environmental education is a practice that incorporates themes that are crucial in the society development in general and, if implemented in a critical, reflexive, transformative and emancipatory perspective, can increase the power of people action in this direction, favoring the challenging inflection, now in demand. In Brazil, this practice is referred to in concepts and principles known and established, which must be followed in its exercise, in projects and programs of community interaction, or in contents worked in the school environment. In this context, based on an evaluation of the National Curriculum Parameters of the Environment Transversal Theme and the National Curriculum Guidelines in Environmental Education, this paper defined four indicators for the analysis of the the São Paulo State official curriculum of the elementary education in relation to the approach to the environmental question: knowledge, participation, values, contextualization. Bibliographic review followed by documental analysis were the procedures used in the research, complemented by surveys of empirical researches to verify the occurrence of environmental education initiatives in the hidden curriculum in school practices. From the documental analysis of the Teacher's Notebook of all disciplines, we sought, among the description of the activities proposed there, to verify the occurrence of the different indicators. It was observed that environmental education practice is still restricted mainly to the areas of Science and Geography, which contrasts with the main indication, parameters and guidelines established, that this should be a practice that transcends the curriculum, pointing to a possible interdisciplinarity. We made suggestions for insertion of the environmental theme in different situations of its absence in the materials analyzed, trying to show concretely possibilities of approaching the environmental issue in all disciplines.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Mapas da transmutação : modelagem, propriedades estruturais, estimação e aplicações(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-05) Granzotto, Daniele Cristina Tita; Louzada Neto, Francisco; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0994050156415890; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1804132689797867Initially, we use the quadratic transmutation maps to compose a new probability model: the transmuted log-logistic distribution. Transmutation maps are a convenient way of constructing new distributions, in particular survival ones. It comprises the functional composition of the cumulative distribution function of one distribution with the inverse cumulative distribution (quantil) function of another. Its comprehensive description of properties, such as moments, quantiles, order statistics etc., along with its survival study and the classical and Bayesian estimation methods, are also part of this work. Focusing on analysis of survival, the study included two practical situations commonly found: the presence of regression variables, through the transmuted log-logistic regression model, and the presence of right censorship. In a second moment, searching for a more exible model than the transmuted, we present its generalization, the transmuted distributions of cubic rank. Using the methodology presented in this rst generalization, two models were considered to compose the new cubic transmuted distributions: the log-logistic and Weibull models. Faced with problems presented in the transmutated class of quadratic and cubic orders (such as the restricted parametric space of the transmutation parameter ), we propose in this work, a new family of distribution. This family, which we call e-transmuted or e-extended, is as simple as the transmuted model, because it includes a single parameter to the base model, but more exible than the class of transmuted models, once the transmuted is a particular case of the proposed family. In addition, the nem family presents important properties such as, orthogonality between the baseline model parameters and the e-transmutation parameter, along with unrestricted parametric space for the ! e-transmutation parameter, which is de ned on the real line. Simulation studies and real data applications were performed for all proposed models and generalizations.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Existence and multiplicity of solutions to a class of elliptic problems involving operators with variable exponent(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-05) Hurtado, Elard Juárez; Miyagaki, Olimpio Hiroshi; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2646698407526867; Rodrigues, Rodrigo da Silva; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9606661651573155; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0455290275199042We study the existence and multiplicity of nontrivial solutions for two classes of elliptic problems. The theoretical framework adopted was Locke's Theory of Work Satisfaction, along with the interaction of other psychosocial aspects related to work, such as Motivation; Sense, Health and Ability to Work; Personal Identity; Organizational Identity; And the question of Leadership. Through the application of questionnaires, among them, the Satisfaction Questionnaire at Work S20 / 23 - adapted to the Brazilian reality, a descriptive and exploratory research was carried out. An analytical survey and logistic regression were used to analyze the data. The survey had a very significant sample, covering 124 individuals out of a total of 147 possible, considerably increasing the reliability of the data obtained, mainly in relation to the data found in Questionnaire S20 / 23, with significantly higher Cronbach's alpha indices. Once verified the degree of satisfaction of the researched agents, it was possible to evidence some factors that may be affecting the organizational behavior of the subjects studied in a way that leads them to the dissatisfaction and that can not be neglected by the organization. In this sense, this work contributed to a better analysis and understanding of job satisfaction within the public organizational context, pointing to ways of creating and consolidating in the individual a sense of belonging that does not come substantially through extrinsic rewards, but mainly through Rewards, where leadership has a primordial role that, together with the institutional mission, are fundamental for the good progress of the organizational flows of the University and of organizations in general.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Implementação inicial da RFC 6897(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-06) Silva, Alan Castro; Verdi, Fábio Luciano; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9143186843657940; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6695358074494763The Multipath TCP (MPTCP) protocol allows applications to better explore the network resources available to multi-connected devices such as mobile phones or multi-homed systems. Here, some advantages are envisioned: bandwidth aggregation, the ability to maintain the connection, if one of the network path fails and the use of multiple paths. To extend these capabilities to the application, RFC 6897 defines an API to better control each of MPTCP’s subflows, so that these can be added or removed as needed. This work presents an initial API implementation as defined in RFC 6897. We implemented some functions described in the document, such as protocol on/o, check existent subflows and add new subflows. To test the API and validate our implementation we built an HTTP application that detects elephant flows and uses the API for open new subflows using the original TCP connection. Some tests were performed in a network using a cubic topology and showed that the API utilization decreased the Flow Completion time of TCP connections.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Sondagem de relações entre variáveis paternas, problemas de comportamento e desempenho acadêmico de pré-escolares(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-06) Fantinato, Aline Costa; Cia, Fabiana; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5999108571365402; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4655774422303804The role that the father plays in the family context is in the process of transformation, becoming a figure of greater affective involvement with the children. The father as well as the mother are important figures for the child, but there are few studies that investigate the father under his own eyes. Thus, the present study aimed to: (a) compare educational social skills, the characteristics of the marital relationship, the abuse potential for child maltreatment, according to the father's opinion, among the parents groups of preschool children who Present behavioral problems, low academic performance or typical development; (B) compare the index of behavioral problems according to the father's opinion among groups of preschoolers with behavioral problems, low academic performance or typical development, and (c) relate the variables. 105 men participated in the study, 45 parents of children with typical development; 29 parents of children with behavioral problems, and 31 parents of children with low academic achievement, and their children's teachers (N = 26). To achieve the goals: (a) parents responded to the Social Skills Inventory, Conjugal Relationship Questionnaire and Abuse Potential Inventory, and (b) teachers and parents answered the Skills and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ). The data obtained in the teachers' evaluation for the SDQ and the academic part of the Social Skills Rating System (SSRS) were used to divide the groups. To compare the results of the three groups, we used the t test, considering the comparison of two groups separately and to evaluate the relationships between the variables, the Pearson correlation test was used. The results showed statistically significant differences between the groups, and parents of children with typical development showed a better repertoire of educational social skills, more positive characteristics in the marital relationship and less potential for abuse. The parents of children with behavioral problems and low academic performance seemed to have more difficulties in the marital relationship, as well as in the interaction with the offspring, specifically on the social educational abilities, it was noticed that the parents of children with behavioral problems had the lowest averages. The correlations between the variables showed significant relationships between the adequate behaviors of parents and children; On the other hand, a poor repertoire of educational social skills was related to the behavioral problems of children. There were positive relationships between educational social skills and the positive characteristics of the marital relationship and negative relationships between educational social skills and the potential for paternal abuse. It is concluded that the positive interaction of the father with the offspring constitutes a mechanism of protection to the child development, besides the data of this study point to the influence of the marital relation with the way that the parents interact with the children, emphasizing the importance of the Positive interaction of the father with the children and of a family environment that promotes positive interactions among its members.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Ligação covalente coordenada boro-nitrogênio : um estudo comparativo entre moléculas derivadas do etano, eteno e etino orgânicos e inorgânicos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-06) Pupim, Carina Fernanda; López-Castillo, Alejandro; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2599181118729458; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5648050749050230This work consists in the theoretical analysis and comparison of some organic compounds and its similar inorganics, through the change of the BN pair, and, in some cases, the BP pair, in the place of CC pair. First, ethane, ethene and ethine molecules, organic (with CC pair) and inorganic (with BN and BP pairs), were analysed; they worked as reference for the analysis of organic and inorganic (here, just BN pair) functionalized molecules (ethanol, ethenol and ethanal, ethanoic acid and ethenediol, ethylamine, ethylbenzene, propane and fluoroethane). For ethane, ethene and ethine molecules, dipole moment, population analysis, energy, bond length and molecular orbitals were analysed. In this case, the DFT method (with b3- lyp and pwlda functionals) and HF method were used. For the molecules with functional group (CC and BN), energy, bond length, bond order and a comparison between isomers were done. Here, DFT (b3-lyp) and CC2 methods were used. For all calculations we used TURBOMOLE. So, it was verified that the dipole moment of the reference molecules follows the same tendency of the Löwdin population analysis (corroborating with the idea of the donation of the electrons pair from the basis to the acid – Lewis acid/basis). This analysis presents results coherent with the chemical feeling, although it has limitations because it concentrates the charges over the atoms. For the molecules with functional groups, we verify a bigger bond length, smaller bond energy and smaller bond order (“main” bond) for the inorganic molecules (dative bond) when comparing to organic molecules (common covalent bond). Besides that, BN molecules are more stable than NB ones, although the bond energy of BN molecules is smaller than of the NB ones. And, also, the analysis of bond strength, bond energy and bond order for the B-N bond showed that the functional groups sequence is different according with each inorganic isomer (BN or NB). So, just the analysis of the electronegativity or bond strength doesn’t necessarily lead to correct values of acidity.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Sistemática para mapear áreas do conhecimento da ciência brasileira : o caso da nanotecnologia(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-07) Brito, Aline Grasiele Cardoso de; Quoniam, Luc; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4754764003480925; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3592352976742741In recent years the social studies of science have revealed a special interest in the extraction of knowledge in databases, which enables the treatment and analysis of sets of data available on the scientific and technological production of researchers, institutions and countries. The objective of this research was to develop and apply a systematics for the collection, treatment and analysis of information about areas of scientific knowledge in Brazil, using essentially open access data and free tools. The method was a case study, the unit case was the priority area nanotechnology and the source of information comprised the bases: Lattes Curriculum Base; Directory of Search Groups; Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations; And the Espacenet of the European Patent Office. The results achieved were 1) the creation and presentation of a systematic for the collection, treatment and analysis of information 2) indicators for the treated area. It is concluded that the Information in Science and Technology, with open access, allow a democratic generation of knowledge in this context. The sources of information and the set of tools made possible the elaboration of indicators capable of elucidating multiple dimensions of scientific and technological production - of researchers and research groups - in addition to teaching and research in postgraduate studies. The indicators obtained and their application reinforce the objective of the data mining process, in the sense of transforming data into information to be used in the decision-making process of organizations that are dedicated to the preservation and innovation of knowledge.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Astronomia no ensino médio: uma proposta de sequência didática(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-07) Carboni, Ariovaldo; Campos, Sérgio Dias; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5443100596356812; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0598948386547170Astronomy classes in the high school, are usually used only to elucidate some physical issues when they could be addressed in a way to make students learn physics using astronomy. Astronomy is no longer a curricular subject for a long time, but belongs of the physics curriculum and can be taught to high school students through the structuring theme Universe, Earth and life. This work developed a didactic sequence that addresses the theme the Solar System and Stellar Evolution, to be applied in high school initial series. Our intention is to provide the teacher a study that it is possible to make the astronomy classes attractive to students, boosters and able to keep students intrested in physics. The proposed activities are based on many teaching methodologies that fit according to the content to be worked making more relaxed classes, where the student is no longer mere supporting and becomes an essential part of the process. In the project development was revealed that several students who at first were reluctant, yielded to the methodology proposed by the didactic sequence, spontaneously started to participate. We also noted, after the analyses of the results with qualitative data, that students were more engaged in the learning process, facilitating the development of the proposed abilities, ensuring the skills needed to finish the process.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Um modelo para apoiar a gestão do conhecimento no gerenciamento ágil de projetos de software(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-08) Almeida, Luís Fernando Magnanini de; Silva, Sérgio Luis da; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4164265591178698; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9522305814931992The Agile Project Management (GAP) emerges as a response to criticisms made to Traditional Project Management Methods for being prescriptive, bureaucratic, and not very dynamic, thus limited when applied in innovation-intensive and knowledge-intensive environments. The main differences between those approaches are the self-management teams, use of the concept of vision rather than scope, iterations, greater customer involvement and pursuit for simplicity. All have an impact on how Knowledge Management (KM) is performed, in particular, the prioritization of the use of tacit rather than explicit knowledge. Several authors approach the intercession between agile project management and knowledge management theories, however, they made little progress in their proposals for management models. Through systematic theoretical reviews and case studies, we advance in this aspect, proposing a Conceptual Model for Knowledge Management in Agile Project Management. The main peculiarities are: consider both intra and interproject knowledge; consider GAP differentials; focus on the project team; use GAP rituals to potentiate the KM; and the applicability to any agile method.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Aplicação de inoculante no plantio e doses de adubação nitrogenada de cobertura na cultura do feijoeiro (Phaseolus vulgaris)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-08) Nyssen, Diego; Soares, Marcio Roberto; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6337462438517339; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9543-6450; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5348908378174922The bean crop has the great challenge of increasing productivity and reducing dependence on nitrogen (N) fertilization from biological N fixation, aiming at a sustainable development of agriculture. The objective of this work was to evaluate the productivity, biometric parameters, and N absorption in the bean crop with or without the application of inoculant at planting and with the supply of different doses of N in coverage. The experiment was carried out in the experimental area at the UFSCar Center for Agricultural Sciences, in a completely randomized design with five replications, consisting of two factors: with and without the addition of biological binoculant at planting; five doses of N top-dressing fertilization (0, 50, 75, 100, and 150% of the recommended dose by the Agronomic Institute of Campinas). After 25 days of plant emergence, top-dressing fertilization was carried out and 48 days after emergence, leaves were sampled for foliar analysis. The parameters evaluated in the experiment were: phytomass, number of pods per plant, number of grains per pod, length of pods, mass of 100 seeds, production and productivity of the plot, and levels of foliar N. The lack of response of several biometric parameters to biological inoculation and to the top-dressing N fertilization was attributed to the current fertility of the experimental area (scenario of low response to N). However, the addition of inoculant at planting, with top-dressing N fertilization equivalent to 150% of the recommended amount, resulted in a significant increase in yield, foliar N contente, and number of pods per plant. Seed inoculation was considered an indispensable practice, but it is possible that the top-dressing N fertilization doses, recommended for the edaphoclimatic conditions of the State of São Paulo, are being insufficient for the maximum expression of the currently cultivated bean varieties.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Educação Transmídia: contribuições acerca da cultura da convergência em processos educacionais(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-08) Montanaro, Paulo Roberto; Reyes, Cláudia Raimundo; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5187942717120318; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9722367900588242The present work aims to reflect on the different aspects about the new paradigms of communication and dialogue that are shaped by the transformations resulting from a social restructuring from the development of digital technologies of communication and information. The proposal, therefore, is to understand how the concepts of the transmedia storytelling and the culture of convergence can become catalysts of mediation processes that consider the characteristics of ubiquity and social nomadism, as well as incorporate to teaching and learning strategies elements such as gamification of contents; Immersive technologies; Participatory culture of knowledge construction and other elements that have developed as a result of this new network society. Thus, in a bibliographical research that addresses issues of the field of education and communication, the research intends to elaborate a critical analysis on the different aspects of the use of digital technologies in education, prioritizing the dialogicity and the involvement between the different actors and contents, within strategies of transversal articulation between the different media. Divided into three parts, the work is initially intended to establish a context about the use of different digital communication technologies and languages derived from the particularities of each one of them. It then reflects on this social reconfiguration where, at the same time as we create and invent new ways of communicating ourselves and having access to information, we are transformed by each of these new tools and our relationship with the other and with the world It changes completely, and finally, as the concepts of the transmedia storytelling already widely studied in the fields of art, culture and entertainment can add value to the surrounding teaching and learning strategies.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Estudo do processo de soldagem a ponto por fricção de juntas dissimilares entre ligas de alumínio e titânio(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-09) Plaine, Athos Henrique; Alcântara, Nelson Guedes de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3123107570992184; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8992899102845408Multimaterial structures between aluminum and titanium alloys are a technologically attractive field of research and their increasing use in the transportation sector for weight and emission reduction is part of the motivation of this study. The currently used techniques are either too expensive or limited in performance, especially by excessive formation of undesirable intermetallic compounds, opening opportunities for innovation in this area. Friction spot welding (FSpW), a solid state joining process recently developed by Helmholtz Zentrum Geesthacht, has proven to be one of the promising technologies for joining dissimilar materials as it involves short steps and low thermal cycles, also with the advantages of adding no weight to the structure and having geometrical compatibility to replace rivets. The present work studies the feasibility in welding AA5754-H22/Ti6Al4V and AA6181-T4/Ti6Al4V joints through FSpW. In addition, it is intended to establish the microstructure/ properties / process relationships of the resultant joints, in order to understand the formation and growth of the joining interface and its consequences on the mechanical performance. The proposed joints are produced in overlap configuration through different combinations of parameters, which were established by statistical methods involving design of experiments, and later submitted to mechanical and metallurgical characterization. The results reveal that Al/Ti dissimilar joints with high strength and reproducibility can be produced by using FSpW. The mechanical behavior of the joints presents a strong dependence on the intermetallic thickness formed at the bounding interface, identified as TiAl3. Tool rotational speed and dwell time are key process parameters in controlling the resistance of welded joints. Moreover, the bending load associated to differences in stiffness and/or thickness of the welded specimen appears as an important variable influencing the crack propagation path during shear and fatigue tests.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Identificação dos principais atributos para o projeto de uma rede cicloviária(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-09) Pitilin, Taiany Richard; Sanches, Suely da Penha; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3857424839674606; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2653656667798172The aim of this research project was to identify what the key attributes that should be considered in the design of a cycling network from the point of view of cyclists and transport planning experts. The methodology for development of research consisted of: (1) application of questionnaires to cyclists on the factors that influence the choice of your routes, (2) application of questionnaires to experts about what attributes should be considered in planning a cycling route urban area and (3) Analysis of the results using statistical methods. The survey results were analyzed using the method of successive intervals, also applying t test and ANOVA for comparison of results. From the results of these two studies was possible to identify the aspects considered important for cyclists and experts, analyzing their divergences and proposing guidelines for project cycling networks that meet the needs of cyclists and attract new users.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Diagnóstico de influência local no modelo de calibração ultraestrutural com réplicas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-09) Andrade, Bruno Pinheiro de; Aoki, Reiko; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0621850261580868; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8657847482314007This paper aims to present the local influence diagnostic methodology of Cook (1986) along with the selection of the appropriate perturbation schemes proposed by Zhu et al. (2007) in ultrastructural calibration model with replicas. The methodology of Cook (1986) will be used to investigate the robustness and sensitivity of model, where the adopted perturbation schemes were weighting cases and response variables. Perturbing the model and/or data in an arbitrary way can lead to miss interpretations of diagnostic analysis and wrong conclusions. Therefore, this study will evaluate the induced perturbations according to the methodology of Zhu et al. (2007) and if the perturbations are not suitable, we will propose a new way of perturbing the model or the data. As an application it was considered a data set with balanced repeated replication to evaluate which levels and laboratories exercise a disproportional effect on inferences made in the model.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Conservação de bio-recursos algais no Brasil: estabelecimento de um banco criopreservado(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-09) Tessarolli, Letícia Piton; Day, John Godfrey; Vieira, Armando Augusto Henriques; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4428377384377272; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4024406734152899The establishment of culture collections is a vital aspect for the conservation freshwater microalgae, which are a very diverse group of organisms with important ecological functions on the ecosystems maintenance and an immense although still sparsely explored biotechnological potential, particularly for the use of metabolites and biodiesel production. The traditional protocol for culture maintenance is the serial subculturing of metabollicaly active cultures. Although strains have been maintained in metabolically active cultures for decades, there are several reports of loss of characteristics for the organisms thus maintained, and an increase in the number of strains could be the cause for logistical challenges on the maintenance regimes and elevated costs with material and functionalism. Cryopreservation, which is the maintenance of organisms at ultra-low temperatures to the point that all cellular metabolic functions are paused, appears as a recommended alternative for the maintenance of long-term culture collections. The use of this technique allows the maintenance of samples for long periods of time with minimal handling, severely reducing the maintenance costs, while maintaining the stability of cultures, which should be stored at ultra-low temperatures to eliminate the occurrence of intracellular chemical processes. The Freshwater Microalgae Culture Collection (CCMA-UFSCar) currently maintains approximately 700 microalgae strains in metabolically active cultures, which is reaching maximum support capacity for routine maintenance practices. The requirements with cultures maintenance will also, consequently, affect the provision services of the collection, which are the basis of research of a large number of projects throughout Brazil. Thus, the main objective of this project was to test the feasibility of the use of cryopreservation as a technique to maintain algal cultures in this culture collection. For this, initially positive results were obtained for the application of a standard freezing protocol, particularly for green coccoid algae. However, larger and more complex organisms are still recalcitrant to freezing, with low rates of recovery, which will require further research and adaptation of the protocols to meet the particularities of each strain. In parallel to the establishment of the cryopreserved biobank for CCMA-UFSCar, projects were developed in order to further clarify details and consequences of the process of freezing and storing organisms at low temperatures, seeking to improve the success rates for the implementation of this technique. The effects of the presence of contaminating organisms on the microalgae cultures on the response of strains to freezing, and consequently on the formation of viable and robust post-thaw cultures, were verified a few selected non-axenic strains. It was noticed that the choice of cryoprotectant solution (CPA), used to protect cells during freezing, may be crucial for post-thaw recovery, and it is necessary to search for balance between obtaining the highest possible viability levels and avoiding the extreme proliferation of contaminating organisms, which could lead to inhibition in the recovery and quality of the desired algal cultures after the process. In addition to direct survival to the freezing process, which is a potentially damaging for cells, the longevity of samples maintained at different temperatures was also tested, aiming to establish the simplest and most cost-effective procedure to ensure the long term survival of frozen samples. It was observed that the storage temperatures, as well as the CPA used during freezing, were significant aspects to guarantee the continued viability of the frozen cultures, and only samples maintained immersed in liquid nitrogen were sufficiently protected against temperature fluctuations, ensuring the survival of all the samples for longer periods. Furthermore, the continuity of the viability for samples maintained immersed in liquid nitrogen was also observed in a study with samples maintained on these conditions for up to 40 years at Culture Collection of Algae and Protozoa (CCAP, UK). The freezing process per se is potentially damaging to the cultures during the process, which might be the cause for functional and genetic differences in cells that have undergone this process. Thus, biochemical and genetic analysis were used to verify the stability of the cultures submitted to the freezing protocol. To ensure the successful implementation of a cryopreserved microalgae bank for CCMA-UFSCar, in addition to viability and stability measures, it is necessary to establish protocols for sample management and routine maintenance. Thus, a case study was carried out with the experiences acquired in CCAP during the 40 years of the history of a cryopreserved bank, and how the application of these techniques can benefit the quality control and management of CCMA-UFSCar, facilitating the implementation of the cryopreserved biobank for this culture collection.
