Several studies have investigated the deleterious effects of the association between the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS), however, it is still unknown whether coexistence of COPD and OSAS ("OLDOSA") is associated to greater autonomic impairment, as well as, whether the changes triggered by overlap disease are associated with greater functional impairment for this population. Thus, a study titled "Severity of COPD and its association with OSAS: impact on autonomic modulation and functional capacity" was carried out with the purpose of evaluating whether this coexistence would imply greater autonomic impairment and functional capacity than when presented in the COPD conditions in isolation. In the present study, the heart rate variability indexes (HRV) of twenty four individuals with COPD (n=12) and OLDOSA (n=12) were evaluated by means of electrocardiographic recording during rest, active posture maneuver (APM), respiratory sinus arrhythmia maneuver (RSA-m) and six-minute walk test (6MWT). Our results showed that the COPD group presented higher parasympathetic modulation during APM in contrast to the OLDOSA group (p = 0.02). In contrast, the OLDOSA group had marked sympathetic modulation during RSA-m when compared to the COPD group (p = 0.00). Additionally, the exercise performance during the walking test was similarly impaired in both groups despite the greater severity of the COPD group. Therefore, our results suggest patients with OLDOSA coexistence have marked sympathetic modulation, and the presence of OSAS in COPD patients has a negative impact on functional capacity regardless of the severity of the lung disease.

There is a growing perception in the industry that ergonomics is important, not only for the comfort, safety and health of the worker, but to improve productivity and quality in manufacturing. Brazilian companies have incorporated Ergonomics through different processes of ergonomic action. However, when looking at different models of Ergonomics programs, a few questions arise: what aspects of a management project in ergonomics do the current management systems meet? How are ergonomics management programs validated? What documents can be used as guidelines for management in ergonomics? In order to find answers to these questions, this thesis had as main objective, propose a guidelines for a management model in Ergonomics that is certified, based on the methodological approach derived from the Ergonomics of the activity. For this, a theoretical revision was made on the ergonomics of the activity and its performance in the companies, as well as the actions they have been seeking to differentiate themselves in the market, such as the search for new management models, the forms of evaluation and validation of the actions and, finally, the existing national and international standards and certifications related to ergonomics. Interviews were also conducted with professionals in the area of ergonomics to understand how has been their performance in their workplaces; and also a exploratory case study in a multinational company, which in partnership with a national certifying body, sought the development of a certification for ergonomics programs in Brazil. Through the results found, it was possible to identify that there is no uniformity in the performance of ergonomics programs in companies, that is, each company does ergonomics in a different way, and often, not following a management model. In addition, it has been found that there is a wide range of standards, both technical and regulatory, that make reference to ergonomics, however, none of them also address the issue of management. Therefore, a procedure that considers both the legal or technical (management) aspects and the concepts and bases of the ergonomics of the activity, as presented in this thesis, offers minimum guidelines for the development of a program that effectively acts in the improvement of working conditions And through the process of validation of actions, mainly with the operators, seek the continuous improvement of its management system, thus helping ergonomists and other professionals, such as labor inspectors, in their actions.

Various processes in food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries have to handle with solid particles at some point during their processes. From the manufacturing process to storage of these materials, interparticle forces may intensify and lead to serious issues as incrustation inside the equipment or blocking a silo output. Therefore, it becomes necessary a better understanding about particle systems flowability, which include a good physical chemistry characterization and morphology associated with flow parameters analysis that will help on the flowability prediction. The purpose of this work was to investigate the flowability of four types of sugars: icing sugar from União® (IS), granulated sugar from Colombo® (GS), very high polarization (VHP) sugar from São Martinho industry (VS) and refined sugar from União® (RS), through classical tests as repose angle and Hausner ratio and dynamic tests in rheometer. For particle characterization, sieving was conducted to obtain size distribution and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) for morphology visualization. GS and VS types presented to be more similar in shape and size, with crystal configuration and higher particle mean diameter. RS and IS, on the other hand, showed greater percentage of fines and irregular shape, where IS was the type with more agglomerates. Cohesive forces were more noticeable in the IS type since this is the sugar with the smallest grain size distribution. As a consequence, this presented a greater resistance to flow, with a Hausner ratio of 1,33 (good flowability is between 1.12-1.18) and the higher angle of repose of 40º. Dynamic shear tests were made in powder rheometer FT4 from Freeman Technology and returned uncertain data for GS and VS, evidencing that this equipment may not be suitable for this kind of material. Compressibility analysis always showed greater values in dynamic condition than static ones and despite of GS and VS similarities, GS and RS were closer in compaction kinetics due the related values of D90. Overall, one may say sugar IS had the worst flowability among the 4 types following by RS wich is the second with a greater number of fines. VS and GS were classified as free flow materials according to classical tests. However, powder rheometer presented some limitations to higher particle size (about 1 mm) materials analysis. On the other hand, as seen in classical tests, IS and RS showed similarity in some tests made using powder rheometer.

Down’s syndrome is defined by its genetic component. There is a set of anatomophysiological commitments that interfere in these children development, especially in language development. To evaluate this instruments and tests were developed, and they may auxiliate in the early detection of possible risks, identifying their potential and making interventional procedures easier. The main goal of this research was to characterize global language development repertoire in children younger than 48 months with Down’s syndrome, with the specific goal of comparing the contributions of Denver’s II Test of Triage Development, Portage’s Operationalized Inventory and Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP) for the assessment and characterization of children’s younger than 48 months with Down’s syndrome linguistic repertoire. Participated on this research one boy and three girls with Down’s syndrome between the ages of 14 and 46 months old, whom frequented a public daycare and/or a specialized school in a city in São Paulo’s countryside. The evaluations were made through direct observation and interaction with participants. The evaluation sessions happened in the institutions frequented by the children and had the duration of 1 (one) hour. The number of meetings with each child variated. The sessions were composed of activities required by Denver’s II Test of Triage Development, Portage’s Operationalized Inventory and Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP). With the legal responsible were made presential interviews for the filling of both Brasil’s Criteria Questionnaire and Anamnese Record. Regarding global development, although the children in this study had different ages, they presented similar repertoire and bellow the expected for their age range. The development bellow their age range was also verified regarding the language area. Regarding the instruments used, concludes that they complement each other, and make it possible to verify required abilities in a more specific way. The assessed evaluations matched the literature, pointing that children with Down’s syndrome tend to present a different development from the one seen in children without deficiency in all evaluated areas. The findings obtained with the instruments used allowed to verify the installed development and the potential of the participating children, favoring the elaboration of interventional programs considering the specificities of each children with Down’s syndrome. However, for the deeper comprehension of these children’s development, it is necessary new studies and the use of other instruments.

The causative relation has been, for centuries, an interesting source of research in the most di erent areas of knowledge. In this dissertation, we investigated the possibility of certain unergative and unaccusative verbs to express causality, although not being causatives in their base, such as the children sat on the oor Ð→ the mom sat the children on the oor . Our proposal is that the causativization phenomenon is a syntactic mechanism by which the events can receive a (direct) causative interpretation in the situational domain ([ cause P]). The analysis is developed on the basis of Nanosyntax assumptions (Starke, 2009) and demonstrates the role of the terminals of the event domain, the Spell-out rules and the lexical-encyclopedic knowledge in the license of the causativization process in Brazilian Portuguese.

This research aims to analyze the work and subjectivity of the professor that works at the postgraduate program of UNESP, comprising the relationships between distress and delight, compliance and strangeness regarding the productive sociability and the possibilities and hindrances of the construction of meaning at work. In this investigative path, we examine the reality of two postgraduate programs, from the humanities area that have high academic performance. The theoretical assumptions are based on the contribution of the Psychodynamics of Work and Psychosociology, to which the interaction of researchers whose focus of analysis comprises the work, the subjectivity and the health of the university professor are related. The research anchors, at first, in the analysis of documents of UNESP, from the Brazilian postgraduate and the higher education, composed by laws, publications, ministerial orders and statistical analysis. Following that, questionnaires were conducted, composed by objective and essay questions, to a sample of 36 professors. Finally, 10 semi-structured interviews with professors were carried out. With data triangulation, some analysis guiding categories were created: the meaning of work and the relationships between distress and delight in the teaching office; compliance and strangeness regarding the productive sociability; the dynamics of the union of work and recognition; and work intensification and deterioration of work conditions. It points out that the work and subjectivity of the postgraduate professor are inserted in a political and economic context configured by the predominance of the financial sphere of capitalist accumulation (capital globalization) and by the conformation of the Reform of the State Apparatus to the neo-liberal guidelines. In this scenario, deep reforms were made in the role to be played by the university, transforming it in a managerial institution, productivity-focused and mercantilized. Practices of Human Resources Rationalization and the dissemination of the ideology of academic excellence are present in the education sector, among them, at UNESP, deteriorating work conditions due to its intensification. The dynamics of recognition – important factor to the delight at work - , is undermined due to the conflicts, individualization of relationships and competitiveness among pairs. Still, the particularity of the teaching office provides the existence of authentic recognition echoes among the shredded union. Delight and distress are revealed over and above its apparent dichotomous perspective between delightful or distressful potential in activities, respectively, of construction and transfer of scientific knowledge and of bureaucratic and administrative nature. It points to an intricate dialectic and contradictory movement of the process of construction of meaning at work and of the relationships between distress and delight. The research indicates distress experiences coexisting with delightful ones, as well as limitating, but not suppressing, them. Also, following a pathogenic distress resulting from pressures, overload and meaning senses there are narcissistic and fetish delight forms due to the malpractice of the recognition dynamics. However, it does not remove successful creative distress and sublimation at work alternatives, resulting from the unyielding and unalienable intellectual and creative office dimensions, of the authentic recognition echoes and of the ethical and political meaning. The conclusion is that there are various possibilities presented to the subjectivity of the postgraduate professor, peered in the complex dialectic and contradictory interplay of the pair distress-delight, and in the limits and possibilities of the construction of meaning.

The enormous amount of intellectual production inside universities makes important to spread and preserve it. Therefore we have the concept of institutional repositories. The repositories developed by higher education institutions display works of academic character and doctoral thesis, master's dissertations and scientific articles. However, other types of production, as the technical one, can also be added to a repository. This study aimed to identify the types of technical productions existing in the Federal University of São Carlos, in which the technical productions elaborated by university professors and the technical administrative production was highlighted. To identify these technical productions, the Lattes Platform was used, which developed by CNPq and provides access and standardization of academic and professional records of the researches who work in the Brazilian territory. The scriptLattes tool was used to extract and visualize the data obtained from the curriculums. The period analyzed was from 1968 to September 2016. From the 1.296 professors at the Federal University of São Carlos, 1.291 have Lattes curriculum. The extraction of the professors' data resulted in 24.832 productions. From the 1.014 administrative technicians of the Federal University of São Carlos, 510 have curriculum on the Lattes Platform, the extraction of the technicians' data resulted in 866 productions. A hundred different types of technical production were identified from the extracted data from the professors and technicians. The technical and administrative production was also verified in the proceeding of the various internal administrative documents, by using the Sistema Tramite (Proceeding System), which provides the document types proceeded inside the University. To identify the documents with intellectual or historical value, the temporality tables of the Archive National Council were applied. Therefore, we found 165 types of documents with temporality indication of 47 years or permanent guard.

The variety of environmental factors to which Cerrado or Savanna vegetation is subjected has favored the potential for the synthesis of new compounds by the plants and also by the endophytes isolated from them, which are characterized as fungi or bacteria that host the plant tissue without establishing harm. The Cerrado is characterized as an excellent mosaic of biomes for endophytic research. Endophytes found on its environment displayed great biotechnological potential, producing new compounds with antimicrobial, enzymatic, leishmanicidal, antitumor, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, diuretic and cicatrizant activities. In this context, the present work aimed to evaluate the biotechnological potential of the Paenibacillus polymyxa strain RNC-D isolated from the plant species Prunnus sp. Concerning the antagonistic activity of phytopathogenic fungi in vitro. The results obtained were: Ceratocystis paradoxa (negative) Colletotrichum sp. (40%), Fusarium oxysporum (51.7%), Phytophthora sojae (61.3%) and Rhizopus microsporus (negative). Also as antimicrobial activity, in vitro, the Fresh crude extract produced in medium Yeast extract peptone mannitol, filtered, the obtained results were: Candida albicans (negative), Citrobacter freundii (15mm), Enterococcus faecalis (14mm), Escherichia coli (17mm ), Micrococcus luteus (15mm), Proteus sp. (Negative) Salmonella sp. (16mm), Staphylococcus aureus (15mm), Staphylococcus epidermidis (12mm), Staphylococcus saprophyticus (18mm). The search for substances and anti-inflammatory compounds is of great importance for the control of inflammation, since the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory have severe side effects such as gastrointestinal reactions, severe dyspepsia, gastric and duodenal ulcers. Carrageenan-stimulated paw edema model (acute inflammation) was used to evaluate the extracts for their anti-inflammatory potential. Later on, the effects that contributed to the reduction and control of this process were observed, showing a positive effect in the temperature drop in the groups treated with extract, this presented effect was similar to that exhibited by the commercial treatment sighting at a possible and promising anti-inflammatory to be evaluated in other experimental models.

In chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) the marked disuse of the peripheral musculature due to bed rest decreases peripheral muscle strength and muscular performance, known as dynapenia. However, the presence of this condition in patients with COPD in the acute phase of the exacerbation, as well as its consequences in the prognosis of the disease, were still little explored. Objectives: To identify the prevalence of dynapenia in patients with exacerbation and post-exacerbation COPD, to assess peripheral muscle strength 30 days after the exacerbation, and to compare it with acute exacerbation and one another group of patients in the stable phase of the disease, in addition to verifying if the decrease in hand grip strength could predict worsening of quality of life, new exacerbations and death in a period of 30 days post-exacerbation. Method: This was a longitudinal observational study in which 40 patients of both genders (age> 50 years) with moderate to very severe obstruction COPD were divided into two groups: exacerbated group (GEx) and your follow-up (GEx follow-up) and stable group (GEst). The patients were submitted to strength tests of the peripheral musculature, using manual isometric dynamometers, in order to quantify the muscular strength between the groups. Results: Dinapenia was identified in 95% in the GEx, 86% in the GEx follow-up and 47% in the GEst. In the assessment of peripheral muscle strength, when comparing the GEx and GEx follow-up groups, no significant differences were identified. In the GEx follow-up and GEst groups a significant difference was seen in the following evaluations: knee extension (p = 0.003), percentage of knee extension (p = 0.013), elbow flexion (p = 0.015), shoulder flexion P = 0.004), hand grip strength (p = 0.004) and percentage of hand grip strength (p = 0.011). As a predictor of poor outcomes, hand grip strength showed a statistically significant degree of accuracy (area = 0.94) when lower than 14 kgf. In addition, we found difference in the distance walked in the 6MWT when comparing the groups GEx and GEx follow-up (p = 0.018). And when comparing the GEx follow-up and GEst groups with a statistically significant difference in the distance walked on the 6MWT (p = 0.020), on the percentage of distance covered in the 6MWT (p = 0.007), in CAT (p = 0.01) and SGRQ (p <0.0001). Conclusion: From the results found, it can be verified that patients with exacerbated and post-exacerbation COPD present a significantly higher percentage of dynapenia when compared to patients in a more stable state of the disease, besides presenting a lower peripheral muscle strength. Furthermore, it can be observed that exacerbated patients presenting a handgrip strength of less than 12 kgf are more likely to present poor outcomes within 30 days post-exacerbation.

BACKGROUND: Walking acquisition is one of the most important milestones during the first year of life that involves changes in spatial perception, cognition and emotional development. The acquisition and improvement of gait are influenced by intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Prematurity is an intrinsic risk factor for child development, even when infants are classified as moderate and late preterm, due to vulnerability in many body systems, especially in the Central Nervous System. Studies report that preterm infants present poorer motor and cognitive performance and quality of walking movements when compared to full-term infants. However, little is known about how intrinsic and extrinsic factors interfere in this process. OBJECTIVE: To investigate how intrinsic and extrinsic factors influence the motor, cognitive, sensory development and walking characteristics METHODOS: 34 preterm infants (mean corrected age of 15.6) and 34 term infants (mean age of 13.7 months) were enrolled in the children development evaluation and 10 preterm infants (mean corrected age of 16.8) and 16 term infants (mean age 15.4 months) participated performed the gait analysis. Information about birth and socioeconomic conditions was collected through a questionnaire. Motor, cognitive and language performance was assessed with the Bayley Scale of Infant Development-3rd Edition scale, the Sensory Profile was applied through an interview with mothers for evaluation of sensory modulation. The Home Observation for Measure of the Environment Inventory was used to evaluate the care quality and kinematic gait evaluation used the Qualisys ProReflex MCU motion analysis system. For comparison between groups T-test was used for parametric data, Mann Whitney test for the non-parametric data and Chi Square for the categorical variables. In addition, Spearman and Pearson tests were performed for correlation according to data distribution. RESULTS: A gap has been identified in the literature regarding the impact of intrinsic and extrinsic factors on the gait acquisition and refinement process. Preterm infants presented lower motor and cognitive performance than term infants. The quality of care of preterm infants also presented lower scores, with lower family income and maternal education. Lower gestational ages were related to lower motor and cognitive performance. Higher degrees of maternal education and higher family income were associated with higher motor, cognitive and language performances. Lower scores on quality of care were associated with lower cognitive and language performances and higher scores on the aversive and spectator quadrants. The premature group presented similar gait characteristics as the term group, except for hip angulation, that was higher in the preterm group. Factors such as age of acquisition, time of walking experience, gestational age, height at birth and APGAR in the first and fifth minutes, home environment and maternal and paternal education are related to several gait characteristics. CONCLUSIONS: Moderate and late prematurity cause lower motor and cognitive performances and more immature gait in comparison to term infants. Intrinsic (gestational age, weight) and extrinsic factors (quality of care, family income and maternal and paternal education) were shown to influence motor, cognitive and language development, sensory modulation and gait characteristics. Moderate and late preterm infants require a carefully follow-up during first two years, even if there are no clear signs of dysfunction.

Purpose: Kinematic changes have been correlated with different lower limb injuries, being some of these injuries more common in female athletes, and a likely predisposing factor to these changes is hip and trunk muscle weakness. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the correlation among trunk and hip strength with three-dimensional trunk and lower-limb kinematics during a jump-landing task in female recreational athletes. Methods: Twenty-three healthy women recreational athletes aged between 18 and 35 years underwent evaluation of hip abductor, hip extensor, and lateral trunk muscle strength by manual dynamometry and three-dimensional trunk and lower-limb kinematics during the landing phase of a single-leg drop vertical jump. Pearson's correlation coefficients (r) were calculated to establish the relationship between hip and trunk strength and trunk, hip, and knee movements. Results: Greater hip extensor strength was found to be significantly associated with greater trunk flexion at initial contact. No significant correlations were found among the strength data and the peak values of kinematics during the landing phase. Conclusion: Considering that the greater trunk flexion is related to lower anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) load, patellofemoral stress and patellar tendon force, hip extensor muscle strengthening may be important to prevent and rehabilitate ACL injury, patellofemoral pain, and patellar tendinopathy.

This work aims to evaluate the perception of the different segments of the passion fruit production chain (Passifloraceae edulis) regarding the importance of bees. This agricultural culture is responsible for generating three to four direct jobs and seven to eight indirect jobs in the production chain. Although passion fruit produces hermaphrodite flowers, this plant has mechanisms that prevent self-fertilization - which necessitates the presence of pollinating biotic agents or artificial pollination. Knowing that the natural pollinators of this culture are medium to large bees, and to verify if people knew about it, 162 people were interviewed in 30 cities in Brazil, divided into five segments: Agricultural Input Sellers, Farmers, Primary and Secondary Buyers and Final Consumers. For the analyzes, response frequencies and correspondence analysis were used. It was verified that the Farmers and Input Sellers present greater knowledge about pollination and pollinators, perceive the bees in a positive way and know the importance of large bees for pollination of passionflower flowers. Although farmers know the importance of bees, few adopt friendly practices for these beings. Already the segments related to the sale and consumption of passion fruit have less knowledge about pollination and perceive the bees in a negative way. Respondents, in general, also observe a decline in the number of pollinators, and most believe that this deficit is related to the destruction of green areas, global warming, diseases that affect bees and the use of pesticides.

Será que temos mesmo direitos a universidade? O desafio do acesso e a permanência de pessoas transexuais no ensino superior
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-02-22) Scote, Fausto Delphino; Garcia, Marcos Roberto Vieira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3911188481669270; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1045780522038391
This master thesis aims to analyze the difficulty of access and permanence of the transgender population in colleges. A field work was carried out that involved the realization of interviews with transgenders of different ethnicities, social classes and types of university that they attend. The results obtained indicate that access to the university was facilitated by specific achievements of the trans movement, but also by broader ones, among which the following stand out: legal implementation and the right to use the social name for transvestites and transsexuals those who have adhered to legislation and national assessments such as ENEM; the government's inclusion policies for access to low-income ethnic and racial minorities by offering positions at federal and state public universities by the SISU system and offering scholarships at private and confessional universities by PROUNI. Also fundamental were social projects of the type "preparatory course", that aimed at transvestites and transsexuals. On the other hand, the cases of public policies of permanence are still isolated when the trans population is related, without the existence of specificity in the supply and maintenance of public policies that contribute to this. Have been reported some hardship related to tuition fees, the use of the bathroom according gender identity, access to student housing and foodaid, as well as the lack of adequate treatment by teachers and staff who are unable to deal with transgender people (gender bias). Participation in transgender militancy within the university context has become important for the transformation of the environment they inhabit, contributing to the change of paradigms, acceptance of their subtleties, recognition of rights and respect for human diversity.

Patellofemoral pain (PFP) is the most common running overuse injury. Excessive rearfoot eversion is commonly considered as a risk factor for patellofemoral pain and the relationship between the ankle-foot complex movement and the lower limb may be involved with this dysfunction. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between rearfoot eversion with tibia and femur kinematics in frontal and transverse planes during running in individuals with and without PFP. Methods: Fifty-four recreational runners were divided into 2 groups: healthy runners (CG, n = 27) and runners with patellofemoral pain (PFPG, n = 27). Kinematics during running were assessed using a three-dimensional motion analysis. Pearson's correlation coefficients (r) were calculated to establish the relationship of rearfoot eversion with tibial and femur movements (peak and range of motion). Findings: Greater peak rearfoot eversion was associated with greater peak tibial internal rotation and peak femur adduction in the PFPG. Additionally, greater peak rearfoot eversion was associated with greater femur adduction, femur external rotation and tibial adduction range of motion in the PFPG. Interpretation: Strongest associations between the greater rearfoot eversion and the greater peak hip adduction and hip adduction range of motion might be related to the etiology and/or persistence of patellofemoral pain, and indicate that treatment strategies aimed at controlling the movement of the rearfoot could help modify the symptoms.

In this study analytical procedures were developed using laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) for determination of B, Ca, Cd, Cr, Cu, K, Mg, Mn, Na, Pb, and Zn in solid fertilizers and suspensions. Factorial designs (fractional factorial, central composite, and Doehlert) were used to define the most appropriate LIBS parameters. Emission lines for all of the analytes were collected and were employed 12 signal normalization modes in order to minimize laser fluctuations and sample heterogeneity. In the case of solid fertilizers the best results were obtained using a laser energy of 75 mJ, a spot size of 50 μm, a pellet pressure of 10 t/in., and a delay of 2.0 μs, and for suspension fertilizers were obtained with 80 mJ of laser energy, a 50 µm of spot size and after 0.5 μs of delay time. A novel sample preparation method was developed for liquid samples analysis in LIBS. The suspension fertilizer samples were mixed with 10% m/v polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and dried for approximately 2 h at 50 ºC, resulting in a solid polymer film forming with the immobilized liquid sample. The results clearly demonstrate a good agreement between the LIBS predicted concentrations and the reference concentrations determined by ICP OES after microwave-assisted acid digestion (AOAC 2006.03 Official Method). The limits of detection (LOD) for the proposed method for solid fertilizers varied from 2 mg/kg (for Cd) to 1% (for Zn) fit within the intended purpose, mainly aimed at the Brazilian regulators to verify the occurrence of the potential contaminants (Cd, Cr, and Pb). The limits of detection of 0.01% for Cu, 0.008% for K, 0.02% for Mg, 0.001% for Mn and 0.02% for Zn for suspension fertilizers, with lower standard errors of prediction (ranging from 0.02 to 0.06%), indicate that the proposed liquid sample preparation procedure exhibits a significant potential for the development and implementation of methods for determining essential nutrients in suspension fertilizers and other samples for which mineralization is difficult. The proposed methods in LIBS showed high analytical frequency and simplicity, compared to existing methods that require acid digestion, as well as its are within the principles of green chemistry.

Introduction. The memory complaint (MC) reflects the perceptions and the evaluation of the memory by the participant or an informant that knows him/her well. It is very common in the elder. Studies suggest that can exist association between MC and cognitive alterations, in these cases, it could be supposed that physical vulnerability can even increase it. Objective. Investigate the relation between MC in elders that has cognitive alterations and physical vulnerability. Method. It is a cross-sectional study, quantitative and correlational. There were evaluated 100 participants with age starting from 65 years by the Memory Complaint Scale (MCS), Addenbrooke’s Cognitive Exam Revised (ACE-R), Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), Vulnerable Elders Survey (VES-13), Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) and the sociodemographic questionnaire. Results. The participants were divided into two groups according to SMC-A and B. Regarding the sociodemographic variables, the groups were divided similarly. In both groups the sample was composed by a majority of women, education had a median of 4 years, and age median of 72 years. It wasn't verified association between MCS form A or B and VES-13. It was found a significant statistical difference between MCS form A and MMSE, between MCS form B and ACE-R total points and MCS form B and all ACE-R domains. The most evident associations between MC and cognitive alterations were found in MCS form B. Conclusion. The report of the informant about the elder's MC has a wide positive correlation with the cognitive screening tests.
