Desenvolvimento de novos compostos de borracha natural a partir da desvulcanização em extrusora com rosca dupla

The present study investigated the utilization efficiency of an intermeshing co-rotating twin-screw extruder (ICTSE) in the devulcanization of natural rubber compounds (NR), evaluating the physical, chemical and mechanical characteristics of these materials in each project step. Three accelerated compounds with different sulfur concentrations were submitted to torque rheometry and vulcanized according these results aiming the achievement of elastomers with different crosslinks densities. The influences on the characteristics of the devulcanized material caused by the variation of the extruder barrel temperature, screw rotation, thermoplastics addition and material stiffness were evaluated. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), soluble fraction extraction and crosslink density were performed, evaluating the devulcanized compound. Horikx's theory was also used as an indicator of selective crosslink cleavage, defining the compounds to be revulcanized for comparison with the virgin pure material. The revulcanization was carried out with the mixture of the devulcanized compound with the pure, in the proportions of 30/70 w/w, respectively, and in the devulcanized compound singularly, with addition of complementary vulcanization system in both cases. The mechanical, dynamic-mechanical and crosslink density properties of the revulcanized compounds were characterized and evaluated in relation to the properties of the pure compounds. The increase in the concentration of uncrosslinked BN chains and the concentration of sulfur compounds in the extruded samples was observed by thermal tests and spectrocopy, together with the verification of a high level of devulcanization percentage, according to Flory-Rehner, evidencing the regeneration of the natural rubber existent. Also, satisfactory mechanical properties were found in the revulcanized compounds, especially when using auxiliary thermoplastics, revealing the great potential of ERDCI processing for the reuse of discarded BN compounds.
O Fantástico em Edgar Allan Poe e Machado de Assis : um estudo comparado

The goal of the dissertation is the comparison of fantastic tales of the romantic writer Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849) and the Brazilian writer, who also produced stories of the fantastic genre, Machado de Assis (1839-1908). The predominant issue is how the two authors who lived in different eras and in different countries so diverse socioeconomically may have their supernatural works compared. To answer this disturbing question, some clues of Poean influence on the fantastic tales from the Brazilian writer were obtained, such as the celebrated translation of Poe's poem "The Raven" (1845), made by Machado (or "O Corvo", as translated by himself in 1883); it is also important to our studies to analyse the quotes in newspapers in which Machado wrote, such as o Diário do Rio de Janeiro (1866) and Gazeta de Notícias (1895), as well as the comparison between the short stories “O Espelho” (1882) and “Sem olhos” (1876), by the Brazilian writer, and “William Wilson” (1839) and “Ligeia” (1838), by Poe.

The present dissertation aims to analyze three essays from the german philosopher Immanuel Kant that deal with his philosophy of history, highlighting within them the concept of unsociable sociability. The essays are: Idea for a Universal History from a Cosmopolitan Perspective, Conjectural Beginning of Human History and Toward Perpetual Peace. In our understanding, it is possible to assume the idea of antagonism as a guiding thread of an analysis of Kant's philosophy of history, insofar as it is shown that for the philosopher the unsociable sociability is the source of all human progress. Our objective is to highlight three historical philosophical moments in the analyzed texts, and to demonstrate how antagonism is responsible for the passage from one moment to another, thus, corroborating its importance.
É tempo de travessia: os múltiplos caminhos de jovens universitários para a vida adulta

The main objective of this research is to understand the transition modes for the adult life of University students. From comprehensive interviews guided by a semi-directive script, we sought to understand a set of experiences and challenges - especially in the University, in the world of work and in family life - that could be revealing of the processes of transition to adult life lived by ten young people - five girls and five boys - who study at the Federal University of São Carlos - Sorocaba campus. Held between the years of 2015 and 2016, the study focused on students from different courses and social insertions who had already attended at least half of their degree. The analysis of their narratives evidenced a multiplicity of trajectories, which are characterized by non-linear biographical pathways. The study revealed the importance of the new policies of access and permanence in the University, which have promoted a growing heterogeneity of subjects in a space historically restricted to the elites. In addition, it was possible to observe that while the trajectories are increasingly heterogeneous and unique, structural issues - especially linked to social origin and gender - appear as common challenges to be faced by girls and boys in their processes to conquer autonomy and Independence.
Uso de alimentos convenientes : uma proposta de modelo conceitual

Convenience food can provide individuals with savings in time and effort – both physical and mental – at all stages of food provisioning, from meal planning to cleaning up. In this sense, its consumption fits into the contemporary changes in eating habits, attitudes towards the act of cooking, and also into increasingly stressful lifestyles. Although there is an increasingly shift on the demand from raw foods to foods with some degree of convenience in Brazil, national studies portraying this topic are still scarce. In order to contribute to this debate, this thesis proposes a conceptual model relating attitudinal and socio-demographic variables – directly and indirectly – to the declared consumption of convenient food. This framework is based on premises of two main theories: the theory of domestic production and the convenience orientation approach. The methods we employed include a systematic bibliographic research, followed by a survey with consumers of the state of São Paulo. In order to test the proposed hypotheses we employed a structural equation modeling approach based on a valid sample of 1391 consumers. The use of convenient foods was mainly promoted by an individual’s convenience orientation on the food provisioning process, in the stages of meal planning and preparation and cleaning up, and by an individual’s perception of time constraint. The main attitudinal factors that are likely to restrict the consumption of those products were the desire to keep a healthy and natural way of eating and the pleasure achieved by culinary activities. Based on the impact of certain attitudinal variables on the use of convenient foods, the results deepen the discussion regarding the set of factors supporting the growth of the trend of convenient food consumption in the Brazilian market. By understanding the dimensions of this trend, food manufacturers are able to better seize the emerging opportunities to position their products successfully in the market.
Para além do Ministério da Saúde e do Conselho Federal de Medicina : a (re)construção dos discursos de profissionalismo de médicos brasileiros e cubanos a partir do contexto do programa Mais Médicos

How does the arrival of foreign medical professionals, working mainly in health posts with Brazilian physicians, in the context of the implementation and validity of the "Mais Médicos" program, has stressed the discourses of professionalism and what are the effects of this contact for professional identifications? Different types of professional training, with varied or contrasting approaches, within the same profession, have produced competitive discourses of professionalism, given the same work position? Starting from the official speeches of the institutions of the Ministry of Health and representative organs of the medical profession, I sought to understand how physicians, in their daily lives, have built and have negotiated their identities and negotiate the discourse of professionalism, and how they have positioned themselves in this debate and deal with the differentiation introduced by public police. The fieldwork, consisting of 14 qualitative interviews and the analysis of the discourses from different organs, actors and publications expressing the clash around the program, have allowed us to understand how the processes of reworking and negotiating these discourses and identities occur, and how they appear and are disseminated in the speech of physicians working in the municipality of São Bernardo do Campo, located in the metropolitan region of São Paulo.

In the problematization of the insertion of the desire by disability, as sexual or identity pathologies, this project proposes an incursion into the terminology and biomedical configurations on the subject in order to understand which discourses are triggered when it is sought to discriminate as ‘sick’ those and those who seek to relate erotically to the disabled or who want to cause disabilities in their own bodies. For this, the intention is to investigate the clinical bibliography produced on devotees, pretenders and wannabes, aiming to systematize to the maximum historically the continuities and discontinuities in the creation of these 'pathological types'. Concomitantly, aiming to establish a critical dialogue with the biomedical knowledge on sexuality and disability, I propose a more theoretical theoretical incursion into one intersection between disability studies and queer theory, the so-called crip theory.
Corriendo metas : autogestión de una corporalidad emprendedora. Construcción de corporalidades en grupos de corrida en São Carlos

La corrida de calle es un fenómeno que se ha destacado en los contextos urbanos brasileros, consolidándose, inclusive, como el segundo deporta más practicado en el año 2011. En este contexto, el/la corredor/a se ha transformado en una figura estratégica para reflexionar a respecto de las producciones y reproducciones corporales y subjetivas de la época actual, marcada por una competitividad e el paradigma de la auto superación. A partir de lo expuesto, los objetivos que orientan la investigación consisten en a) analizar la producción de determinado tipo de subjetividad característico de la práctica de corrida para b) reflexionar sobre los diálogos con un tipo de racionalidad que caracteriza al sujeto neoliberal. Para responder a esos objetivos, desarrollamos una investigación etnográfica en un período de dieciocho meses en la ciudad de São Carlos, interior de São Paulo, en la cual buscamos acompañar dos grupos de corrida de hombres y mujeres, caracterizados por diversos niveles de compromiso con la práctica. Con la finalidad de presentar los resultados de la investigación etnográfica y bibliográfica, el texto se presenta dividido en tres secciones. En la primera sección, trabajamos con la construcción de una estética corporal vinculada a la salud y a la cualidad de vida como caminos posibles de elección, así como la construcción de una matriz moral en torno a esas dimensiones. En la segunda, nos focalizamos en el análisis de los elementos que permiten una comparación con la figura teórica del hombre-empresa. Finalmente en la tercera sección, abordamos la producción y reproducción del dolor y el placer así como los diálogos con el tipo de subjetividad neoliberal
