Cleaner Production represents one of the approaches which can be used by manufacturing companies in the attempt to achieve this purpose, rightfully represent this a strategy oriented to the reduction of negative impacts arising from production processes in all its extension. As a direct result of the implementation of cleaner production practices, enhances the efficiency of the production process, thus increasing competitiveness of enterprises, whether in terms of increases in manufacturing capacity, both in terms of better prospects of generating financial results. However, in the case of the Brazilian context, are relatively sparse theoretical-empirical evidence that greater intensity as the implementation of cleaner production practices on the part of corporations effectively shown able to influence your financial performance. Under such circumstances, the objective of the present study is to assess whether the greater or less intensity about the implementation of cleaner production practices by manufacturing companies listed on the BM&FBOVESPA shown effectively able to provide significant differences in terms of financial performance. To this end, a survey research was undertaken by the manufacturing companies listed on the BM&FBOVESPA, whose research instrument was constituted in the questionnaire. The collected data were subjected to statistical analysis by means of appropriate software to such purpose, by use of Multivariate Statistical technique called multiple Linear Regression. Finally, the survey results point to the perception that some of the cleaner production practices seem to influence corporate financial performance, profitability, and profitability, than be seen to be viable your implementation under the economic-financial point of view.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Newsminer: um sistema de data warehouse baseado em texto de notícias(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-05-12) Nogueira, Rodrigo Ramos; Gonzalez, Sahudy Montenegro; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9826346918182685; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0327974399448757Data and text mining applications managing Web data have been the subject of recent research. In every case, data mining tasks need to work on clean, consistent, and integrated data for obtaining the best results. Thus, Data Warehouse environments are a valuable source of clean, integrated data for data mining applications. Data Warehouse technology has evolved to retrieve and process data from the Web. In particular, news websites are rich sources that can compose a linguistic corpus. By inserting corpus into a Data Warehousing environment, applications can take advantage of the flexibility that a multidimensional model and OLAP operations provide. Among the benefits are the navigation through the data, the selection of the part of the data considered relevant, data analysis at different levels of abstraction, and aggregation, disaggregation, rotation and filtering over any set of data. This paper presents Newsminer, a data warehouse environment, which provides a consistent and clean set of texts in the form of a multidimensional corpus for consumption by external applications and users. The proposal includes an architecture that integrates the gathering of news in real time, a semantic enrichment module as part of the ETL stage, which adds semantic properties to the data such as news category and POS-tagging annotation and the access to data cubes for consumption by applications and users. Two experiments were performed. The first experiment selects the best news classifier for the semantic enrichment module. The statistical analysis of the results indicated that the Perceptron classifier achieved the best results of F-measure, with a good result of computational time. The second experiment collected data to evaluate real-time news preprocessing. For the data set collected, the results indicated that it is possible to achieve online processing time.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Avaliação dos efeitos antitumorais do complexo de rutênio [Ru(GA)(dppe)2]PF6 em células não-tumorais e tumorais de mama cultivadas in vitro(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-05-12) Naves, Marina Araújo; Cominetti, Márcia Regina; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3725318894555272; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6398544243407478Cancers have become an increasingly relevant problem of public health in the last decades. Within neoplastic diseases, breast cancer is one of the most incidental in female population and related to a high mortality rate. Within types of breast cancer, triple-negative is the most aggressive one and prone to form metastasis to lung and brain. Because they do not express hormone receptors, triple-negative tumors do not have an auxiliary target therapy, thus, treatment is hampered and chemotherapy is the only option of treatment remaining for metastatic cases of this tumor type. However, chemotherapy drugs currently used, in some cases are not selective to tumor cells, acting only on the proportion of cells exposed to treatment or cells that are at certain stages of the cell cycle. Thus, non-tumor cells are affected and some neoplastic cells remain intact, characterizing tumor recurrences and resistance to treatment. Rosenberg and colleagues, in 1964, were responsible for the discovery of cisplatin, a metal and antiproliferative compound still widely used in therapies against various types of tumors, but despite its effectiveness, it has several side effects. Therefore, the search for more selective antitumor drugs for neoplastic cells and with fewer adverse effects is critical to advances in the treatment of cancer. With the limitations of cisplatin, new researches have been developed with ruthenium complexes. Ruthenium has properties that may justify its antitumor potential and selectivity for tumor cells; within them, the ability to imitate iron binding to many biomolecules, including transferrin and albumin. Previous studies have suggested the antitumor effects of ruthenium both in vitro and in vivo. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the chemosensitizing ability of the ruthenium complex [Ru(GA)(dppe)2]PF6, which we called Ru(GA), as well as its antitumor activity on triple-negative breast cancer cells (TNBC). In addition, differences between the in vitro behavior of cells treated with the compound and untreated cells were verified, as well as differences between the activity on tumor and non-tumor cells used in this study. The results demonstrated that the complex Ru(GA) was more efficient in inhibiting the proliferation of triple negative breast cancer cells MDA-MB-231, compared with the non-tumor cell line MCF-10A, which was more resistant to the complex. Furthermore, the compound was able to reduce the number and size of colonies, to modify the cytoskeleton and act inhibiting the migration ability of tumor cells. The complex also induced apoptosis by increasing the expression of pro-apoptotic genes such as Bax, Caspase-9, Caspase-3 and decreasing anti-apoptotic genes Bcl-2 in TNBC cells. Moreover, Ru(GA) was able to increase the expression of apoptotic proteins and sub-G1 phase distribution on tumor cells. Interaction assays with Ru(GA) and transferrin showed that this protein has a strong participation in the contact between ruthenium complexes and tumor cells, increasing their effectiveness. These results show that the complex Ru(GA) has antitumor potential against breast tumor cells and it might be a good alternative drug for the treatment of cancer.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Participação de pequenos grupos neurais seletivamente ativados do córtex pré-límbico na reinstalação da autoadministração de etanol induzida pelo contexto(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-05-12) Palombo, Paola; Cruz, Fábio Cardoso; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4804337113083801; Planeta, Cleopatra da Silva; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2514762545280942; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2519982739467859Context-induced reinstatement of drug seeking is an animal model for assessing the neural mechanisms underlying context-induced drug relapse, a major factor in human drug addiction. Neural activity in prelimbic cortex has been implicated in context-induced reinstatement drug seeking. Here, we report a new and feasible training procedure for context-induced reinstatement of alcohol seeking to explore the role of prelimbic cortex in context-induced relapse to alcohol seeking. Long-Evans rats were first given home-cage access to 10% ethanol. Using a saccharin fading technique, rats were first trained to self-administer 10% ethanol in one context. Next, lever pressing in the presence of the discrete cue was extinguished in a different context. Subsequently, context-induced reinstatement of drug seeking was assessed by re-exposing rats to the drug-associated or extinction context under extinction conditions. Re-exposure to the alcohol-associated context reinstated alcohol seeking and increased expression of the neural activity marker Fos in the prelimbic prefrontal cortex. The percentage of neural activation in this brain region was 3.4 % in extinction context and 7.7 % in drug associated context. Reversible inactivation of neural activity in prelimbic prefrontal cortex using GABA agonists muscimol and baclofen attenuated context-induced reinstatement. Based on previous findings of the literature that Fos-expressing neurons play a critical role in conditioned drug effects, we assessed whether context-induced reinstatement was associated with molecular alterations selectively induced within context-activated Fos-expressing neurons. We used fluorescence-activated cell sorting to isolate reinstatement-activated Fos-positive neurons from Fos-negative neurons in prelimbic cortex and used quantitative PCR to assess gene expression within these two populations of neurons. Context-induced reinstatement was associated with increased expression of the GABAα5 gene and decrease in the AMPA receptor subunit genes GluR1 and GluR2 in only Fos-positive neurons. Our results demonstrate an important role of prelimbic cortex in context-induced reinstatement of alcohol seeking and that this reinstatement is associated with unique gene alterations in Fos-expressing neurons.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Seletividade de herbicidas aplicados em pré-emergência e pós-emergência sobre Crotalaria ochroleuca, Cajanus cajan e Raphanus sativus(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-05-12) Pereira, Laís Molinari; Monquero, Patricia Andrea; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2766526793830455; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9612469769486531Green manure has been widely diffused because of the benefits it brings to the chemical, physical and biological characteristics of the soil. However, the adoption of this practice by farmers depends on the definition of management strategies that allow the full development of these crops in the field. Among the strategies, the definition of selective herbicides is a fundamental point in helping the development of the crop. The objective of this work was to evaluate in the greenhouse if pre-emergence and post emergence herbicides are selective for the three green manure species: forage turnip (Raphanus sativus L. cv. CATI AL 1000), dwarf pigeon pea (Cajanus Cajan (L) Millsp cv. IAPAR 43) and crotalaria (Crotalaria ochroleuca L. comun cv.). In the field evaluate if the herbicides defined as selective in greenhouse will damage crops, in relation to phytomass production. The herbicides applied in greenhouses in pre-emergence were atrazine, saflufenacil, sulfentrazone and metribuzin. Separately, post-emergence bentazon, fluazifop-p-butyl, fomesafem, chlorimuron ethyl, mesotrione, imazethapyr, nicosulfuron, clomazone and imazapique. The doses were 0.5, 0.75, 1 and 1.25 of the commercial dose. The three species of green manure were planted in cups with a capacity of 0.5 L. The application of pre-emergence herbicides was performed one day after sowing, and the post-emergence herbicides were applied when the plants had 2 to 3 Pairs of definitive leaves. Phytotoxicity evaluations were performed at 7, 14, 21 and 28 days post-emergence (DAE) for pre-emergent herbicides and 7, 14, 21 and 28 days after application (DAA) for post-emergence herbicides. At 28 DAE / DAA the aerial part of the plants were collected to determine the dry biomass. In greenhouse the herbicides considered selective for Cajanus cajan were fluazifop-p-butyl, bentazon, imazethapyr, clomazone, imazapique, mesotrione and nicosulfuron. For Crotalaria ochroleuca: fluazifop-p-butyl, imazethapyr, bentazon, clomazone, fomesafem and mesotrione. No herbicide was selective for Raphanus sativus. In the field experiment were used the herbicides that were selective in the greenhouse, in the case only for the crotalaria and dwarf pigeon pea. The experimental design was a randomized block design with 4 replicates for treatments and controls. When the crotalaria plants were with up to 3 pairs of true leaves were sprayed with the herbicides bentazon, fluazifopp-butyl, fomesafem, mesotrione, clomazone and imazethapyr. The application in pigeon pea occurred at the same phenological stage with the herbicides bentazon, fluazifop-p-butyl, mesotrione, imazethapyr, nicosulfuron, clomazone and imazapique. Phytotoxicity of the crops was evaluated weekly until flowering corresponding to 42 DAA for pigeon pea and 56 DAA for sunflower. In the field only the mesotrione in the crotalaria crop caused 100% of phytotoxicity, in the other treatments all herbicides selected in greenhouse were also selective in the field, allowing the complete cycle of the crop and producing significant biomass
