For the last decades, many Machine Learning methods have been proposed aiming categorizing data. Given many tentative models, those methods try to find the one that fits the dataset by building a hypothesis that predicts unseen samples reasonably well. One of the main concerns in that regard is selecting a model that performs well in unseen samples not overfitting on the known data. In this work, we introduce a classification method based on the minimum description length principle, which naturally offers a tradeoff between model complexity and data fit. The proposed method is multiclass, online and is generic in the regard of data representation. The experiments conducted in real datasets with many different characteristics, have shown that the proposed method is statiscally equivalent to the other classical baseline methods in the literature in the offline scenario and it performed better than some when tested in an online scenario. Moreover, the method has proven to be robust to overfitting and data normalization which poses great features a classifier must have in order to deal with large, complex and real-world classification problems.

Environments such as zoos are becoming less visited, especially by children and young people. It is important, therefore, for zoos to seek more interactive activities, such as educational games, which can provide a more ludic and enjoyable experience, and serve as a tool in Environmental Education. Thus, the objective of this study was to develop an educational game as a facilitating tool for teaching and learning about some species of animals present in the Zoológico Municipal Engenheiro Cid Almeida Franco (PEMA, Americana, SP), based on the card game Super Trunfo® (Grow Jogos e Brinquedos Ltda.). A bibliographic survey of more than 400 species present was conducted, and 32 were selected based on the following criteria: i) the degree of threat of extinction; ii) whether the animals are exotic; and iii) species that do not have characteristics known to the general public. After this stage, periodic visits were made to the enclosures to observe the animals in captivity and obtain photographs. The material developed was called "Zoo Cards - The Animal Super Trunfo," and the adopted characteristics were weight, development, litter size, longevity, and threat of extinction. The game accommodates two to eight participants, is rated for all ages, and can be played by any literate person. Additionally, it will be available for download (free access) and printing on the PEMA website (https://www.researchgate.net/publication/361265721_Zoo_Cards_-_manualpdf) and (https://www.researchgate.net/publication/361265499_Zoo_Cards_-_cartaspdf). To assess the quality of the material produced, a questionnaire was administered to a group of 15 participants, whose responses followed the Likert scale. Overall, "Zoo Cards" received a good evaluation, mainly for being a fun activity that involves the cooperation/competition relationship in an educational context, making the teaching and learning process more comprehensive and interactive. Zoos have a significant influence on connecting people with nature and are vital for building support for preservation. The educational game, in this context, can be an important agent, engaging visitors in preservation behaviors and respect for biodiversity.

This thesis aproaches the process of designing an appliance factory that produces mainly: fans, exhaust fans and extractors of fruit juice. The company has a high level of verticalization in its production process and has around 500 employees. In this work it is used the qualitative research to the generation of theory, as a methodology, starts from the perspective of Reflective Practice (SCHÖN, 1983), in which the reflection will be realized from the application of the SimuCAD method. The objective is to present a description of what happens in the design process, which addresses the method and perspective of technical construction and the perspective of designers activity as a social construction. From this description the work presents a working model for the project process in question. Five specific contributions for the technical and social perspective are presented: (i) ABC Composed Classification, (ii) Expected Capacity Equation, (iii) Horizontal Weighted Moving Average used in Demand Forecasting, (iv) Presentation of the process of project in the technical and social perspective (v) Insertion of knowledge derived from the real activity of the designer in the theory on Industrial Facilities Design. In particular, the contributions help to highlight gaps in the theory of factory design and help to build knowledge for this research field. The thesis is structured in five chapters, the first presents an introduction to the research problem and to the methodological aspects, as well as the thesis organization and its limitations. In the second chapter a review is presented, it provides an immersion in the body of established knowledge. In the third chapter we present a discussion about methodological aspects and an introduction about Reflective Practice. The fourth chapter presents the results obtained in the design process and the fifth chapter presents the considerations and contributions of the text from the perspective of the established body of knowledge. The thesis is completed presenting a representative model of how the factory design theory is structured. This theory is fundamentally based on the level of prescribed work for designers, in this sense, the thesis proposes reflections at the level of real work in the project and highlights such aspects in the context of a case.

Cyberbullying is characterized by virtual violence that spreads through the technological media connected to the Internet, in which there is the distribution of repetitive episodes of exposure, humiliation, aggression and threats directed at the particularities of the victims. Thus, the propagators of Cyberbullying, using the speed with which the posts are shared by Cyberspace, aim to reach the public by disseminating content in which victims are caricatured and their faces become the image of their expositions and humiliations. Thus, many victims of Cyberbullying, using the same viral context of virtual social networks, are instigated to reveal details and repercussions of their cases, evidencing the forms of aggression, characteristics of the aggressors and viewers. These victims still give instructions on how a user can act and protect themselves from virtual violence. Based on the need to investigate the reactive nature of Cyberbullying victims and to observe if this behavior causes significant impacts in online communities, this study intends to analyze video material and campaigns against Cyberbullying attacks, qualifying the reaction of users against these depositions.

Friction surfacing is a thermo-mechanical process employed to deposit coatings in solid state resorting to friction between a rotating consumable rod and a substrate. The current work focuses on deposition of Ti-6Al-4V coatings reinforced with carbide particles (TiC, B4C and SiC) on Ti-6Al-4V substrate. Particles were added using holes drilled into the rod tip. Different configurations of hole placements within the rod were correlated with process behavior, coating quality, deposition efficiency and particle distribution within the deposits. Configurations varied in number of holes and their distance to the rod’s cross-sectional center. Holes placed near to the rod center increased axial forces during the plastification stage, whereas particles in holes far off the rod center were mainly expelled, not yielding as much effect on the process response. An increase in number of holes amplified the effects of the hole distance. The axial force during plastification stage affected both coating appearance and process efficiency. No full intermixing of coating material and particles during deposition occurred, thereby preventing a uniform distribution of particles throughout the coatings. Particles were mostly deposited along trails, which influenced the behavior of growing grains during recrystallization. B4C and SiC particles underwent dissolution, whose degree was influenced by the rotational speed. Moreover, a refined α-Ti microstructure was reported, related to the development of shear bands independent of the particles’ presence.

“Specific precautions” are measures taken during the hospitalization of patients with a suspect or a diagnosis of air or contact transmitted diseases. Those measures involve the utilization of private rooms or individual protection equipment and aim at preventing cross infection. The permanence in precaution can provoke different emotions in these individuals. This study’s goal is to learn about the perception, significance and repercussions of the specific precautions to the hospitalized patient. It is a qualitative study, using the clinical qualitative methodology and the theoretical references of vulnerability. For the data collection stage, semi-directed interviews were utilized, and the data was analyzed through the thematic model of the content analysis. It has been identified three thematic units: “received orientation”, “perceptions about the private room”, and the “stigma associated with the condition of ‘isolation’”. Under “received orientation”, it has been observed a lack of information and mistakes about the real cause for implementing the precautions. In the unit “perceptions about the private room”, it has been identified not only favorable perceptions, like privacy, not having to share a room, and the sensation of being more protected and being better served, but also unfavorable ones, like feelings of despair, anguish and boredom for being alone and restricted to their room. In the last unit, “stigma associated with the condition of ‘isolation’”, it has been identified embarrassment related to the stigma of being in a unit called “isolation”, and fear for being segregated from the other patients and from their families. It is considered that this study can contribute to health services by broadening their vision beyond the controlling of the dissemination of microorganisms. It is perceived that the information offered to the patient is not adequate, varying from the total lack of information to mistaken justifications, which can contribute for the non-engagement of the patient and their families in the adoption of necessary measures. In addition, the hospitalization in specific precaution has caused in the interviewed patients the sensation of receiving better assistance, but also caused feelings of loneliness and anguish, as well as reinforced the perception of stigma, which in turn intensified their vulnerability.

This thesis aims to investigate how Information Technology (IT) can support the formulation and implementation of competitive strategies in small and medium-sized companies in the footwear hub of Jaú / SP. Technological development in the areas of IT and telecommunications, especially since the end of the 20th century, has resulted in dramatic changes in society and, among the most visible effects, is the increase in communication capacity and access to information. Along with the hardware development, several systems and methods were created and implemented to support and improve various business activities: from simple spreadsheet use in customer tabulation to complete management of activities through systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Despite the development of IT, companies make little use of technology to support the development and deployment of their competitive strategies. Few papers in the literature discuss this relationship of support to competitive strategy, especially in the footwear industry, where literature is scarce. This study was developed in two stages: a survey was carried out, aiming to collect data on the general state of the APL (local productive arrangement) in relation to the producers of footwear and their competitive strategies, and then five case studies were carried out. The results show that companies employ diverse competitive strategies as well have different levels of automation and IT support in their tasks. Although issues related to cost, labor and training are still considered limiting factors in the implementation of support systems, some companies employ IT in the development of differentiated competitive strategies, which gives them better conditions to operate in the market. The main results of this work include, in addition to the discussion of the IT support to competitive strategies of the companies: the presentation of a scenario of the local footwear industry from the survey data, which confirmed some indications from the literature; the creation of a model of IT used by companies that includes their driving elements (legal and industry requirements, administrative complexity and support of the competitive strategy); the theoretical and practical identification of strategic actions supported by IT elements; and the discussion about how IT can help the development of competitive strategies through the support of administrative operations and the creative elements of them.

The proper disposal of solid waste has driven studies to enable the use of recycled materials and waste. So, in this work were molded composites using raw materials from industrial waste and evaluated several mechanical and thermal properties of composites developed. As thermoplastic matrix was used recycled polypropylene (PP) and as filler was used the residue containing thermosetting powder from high-pressure laminate manufacture process (HPL) in the proportions 10%, 14%, 20%, 30% and 40% by weight, obtaining the composites. In order to evaluate the mechanical properties of recycled PP and their composites were performed test of tensile, flexural and Charpy impact. In order to evaluate the thermal properties were performed test of softening temperature, thermal deflection temperature, dynamic-mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA), thermal behavior by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and degree of crystallinity. In addition, were performed analyzes of density and morphological analysis by scanning electron microscopy (SEM).The elongation, tensile and flexural strength reduced with the addition of the HPL. The flexural modulus did not change until an addition of 20%, however, the stiffness increased with 30% and 40% of HPL which contains thermosetting. The softening temperatures in relation to the recycled PP increased with the addition of 40% of the HPL. In the temperature of thermal deflection the addition of 40% of the residue caused increase when compared to the recycled PP. The presence of thermoset residue reduced tenacity of the recycled matrix from addition of 14% of HPL. The density showed increase from adding 10% of HPL. The storage modulus improved with the addition of filler. There was no change in the melting and crystallization temperature. The degree of crystallinity of recycled matrix increases with increasing amount of HPL present in the composite; and an addition of HPL showed good dispersion in the recycled PP matrix. In general, it is considered that the best results of mechanical properties (flexion and tensile) and thermal properties of composites were obtained with addition of 40% of HPL. So the use of HPL as reinforcing filler in composites is feasible and can be used for example in the manufacture of supermarket boxes, pallets, chairs, internal coating of vehicles and among others.

Eosinophils are multifunctional cells that have pro-inflammatory cytotoxic activities and stimulate CD4 + T cells in experimental models of allergy and parasitic infections. Eosinophils, when exposed to antigens are activated and express CD38 / CD69 molecules and exhibit increased expression of the Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC-II), CD80 and CD86, suggesting their role as atypical cells in the Presentation of Antigens. In the present study, we evaluated the hypothesis that, in addition to professional APCs (monocyte, dendritic and B cell), eosinophils are activated by Toxocara canis antigens and express a range of cell surface markers characteristic of antigen presenting cells. Thus, contributing to the immune responses induced in the experimental model by Visceral Migrans Larva syndrome associated with T. canis infection (VLMS). By means of flow cytometric assays the cell profiles of antigen-presenting cells were evaluated during T. canis experimental infection. Data analysis demonstrated that, during murine T. canis infection, peripheral blood, spleen and bone marrow eosinophils showed regulated expression of CD69 / MHC-II / CD80 / CD86, assuming a role as APC in comparison with the antigen presenting cells. Unlike eosinophils of the spleen and bone marrow, circulating eosinophils showed increased expression of activation markers along with APC-related molecules after T. canis infection. The same activation was not observed for professional APCs in the same compartments. Improved connectivity between eosinophils and T cells in T. canis infected mice in all three compartments (peripheral blood, spleen and bone marrow) also supports the hypothesis that eosinophils may play a role as PCA during T. canis infection. In addition, in vitro stimulation of T. canis antigen resulted in activation and elevation of regulation of APC-related molecules by eosinophils derived from bone marrow. These findings strongly suggest that T. canis infection reshapes eosinophils to act as APCs in this infection and not only as an effector cell in the control of parasitic infection.

This monograph aimed to understand aspects of teaching within the context of the appropriation of school culture, as experienced by undergraduate students in the Chemistry program at UFSCar/Araras. The theoretical framework was supported by authors such as Julia, Chervel, Forquin, Viñao Frago, and Perez Gomez, important references when it comes to reflections on school culture, and Tardif, for more specific discussions on teaching knowledge. The final paper adopted qualitative research principles as its investigative premise, also supported by Bogdan and Biklen (1994). The methodological procedure used semi-structured interviews with both beginning and graduating students. The results were described and analyzed under three general categories: student characterizations; the students' trajectories from elementary school to university admission; and university and teacher education. The data allowed us to identify various aspects of teaching that permeate practices, norms, customs, values, expectations, hierarchy, in the information that circulates within the university environment; in short, in the university experience.

The major dysfunctions of the upper extremity related to postoperative (PO) breast cancer, such as functional limitations and muscle weakness, have been studied. The three-dimensional (3D) scapula movement may be altered in the short and long term, but conclusive studies on this subject are still lacking. Although upper extremity rehabilitation programs are recommended after surgery, the great variability in intervention protocols associated with the lack of specificity of training hinders referral to clinical practice. Thus, the general objectives of this Doctorate project were: to evaluate the 3D scapula movement during both elevation and lowering of the arm of individuals treated by breast cancer surgery and to compare with a healthy and asymptomatic control group for shoulder pain; to evaluate the effectiveness of early physiotherapy interventions in the preservation of upper limb function; to investigate the short-term effects of surgery on kinematics and scapuloumeral rhythm after a physical therapy program in the immediate postoperative period. The thesis gave rise to three studies: 1 - Case-control study of 3D kinematics of the scapula, 2 - Systematic review on physiotherapy in the immediate PO, 3 - A series of cases of the short-term effects of surgery on kinematics and rhythm after a physiotherapy program in the immediate postoperative period. A total of 47 women (Study 1, n = 21 surgery group and n = 21 control group, Study 3, n = 05) participated in this study. The 3D kinematics were collected using superficial electromagnetic sensors during arm movement in the scapular plane, the range of motion (ROM) and shoulder muscle strength were evaluated by a digital inclinometer and manual dynamometer, respectively. Pain intensity, upper limb function, and quality of life were assessed using the Visual Analogue Scale (EVA), Disabilities of the arm, shoulder and hand questionnaire (DASH), 36-item Short Form Health Survey (SF36), respectively. A series of databases were consulted to select the studies relevant to the review, based on the Cochrane recommendations, the PEDro scale was used to verify the methodological quality of the included studies and the GRADE was used to analyze the synthesis of evidence (Study 2). Data from studies 1 and 3 were analyzed according to the comparisons between groups (Study 1) and within groups (Studies 1 and 3), using the SPSS version 21 program and the Cohen d index to calculate the effect size. The main results of study 1 were: lower superior rotation of the scapula (120º), lower ROM and shoulder strength, in addition, high scores of EVA, DASH and SF36 in the surgery group; study 2: moderate level of evidence regarding the efficacy of both isolated and associated ROM exercises to muscle strength training for shoulder ROM gain; study 3: lower upward rotation and more anterior scapula tilt along the arm movement, decrease of the scapulohumeral rhythm, high EVA and DASH scores during the evaluations; After the surgery of the breast cancer functional alterations of the scapular kinematics, ROM and shoulder strength, scapuloumeral rhythm as well as self-report of pain and incapacities are evidenced. Early rehabilitation of the upper limb after surgery should be focused primarily on the preservation of shoulder ROM. Future randomized and controlled clinical trials should investigate the efficacy of physiotherapeutic treatment to restore upper limb function, especially considering periods of long-term treatment.

This thesis is part of the analysis of the French discourse, building on the reflection on how, historically, in the media discourse and in its associated domain, the female body was objectified and subjectified, as regards the control of its weight and its measures, receiving different denominations, raising different perceptions and, thus, producing senses and subjectivities. Our research is developed in the light of Michel Foucault, based on an archegenealogical methodology, in which the concept of device impels us to recognize the network in which the discursive and non-discursive practices on the female body, its weight and its measures were constituted / constitute; and looks for ways of analysis in the perspective of the Historical Semiology traced by Jean-Jacques Courtine. From the immense archive on the body, throughout the analysed period, historians have given us clues that the media discourse could be the right cutting: from printed publications from the early 1900s to the online of this 21st century, the sayings about woman, her body and her silhouette, in each age, showed themselves by naming the body of the woman, now supporting patterns, sometimes building them. In the announcements of Modernity, the first exclusively feminine journal - Revista Feminina - associated with the so-called journals considered as current – The Cigarra and FonFon - the woman of the early 20th century, envisioned the possibility of reaching new social positions, however, impelled to control other spheres of herself: the belly and, in sequence, the whole body. From the 1950s, the lifestyle sought by Brazilians was the US lifestyle: many appliances and a lot of ready and industrialized food were consumed, especially in the more affluent classes. At the same time, capitalist consumerism established as one of its enunciative regularities the use of the image of a woman with a long line silhouette in her major advertising campaigns. In addition, magazines such as Manchete, and the newspapers like O Globo discussed the causes of obesity, disseminating in society the medical knowledge built for this pathology. Since the 1990s, the national government has begun to consider the increase in obesity rates among the Brazilian population as a prerogative for the development of other onerous diseases to the State. Therefore, discourses based on biopolitical strategies came into play, so that the responsibility for the control of obesity fell on the subject, thus legitimating an intense vigilance over the body, as we can perceive it in the 21st century: in the statements that circulate in the various print and online media, obesity must be fought by every social body. Therefore, we can say that the control device of the female body, during the period observed by us, has expanded its strategic configuration, from controlling the behaviour to the tight control of weights and measures.

This objective is broken down into three other specific objectives: (i) identify the responsibilities of the pedagogical coordinator; (ii) to select and analyze training proposals developed by the pedagogical coordinators on mathematics teaching; and (iii) seek, together with the pedagogical coordinators, the challenges and possibilities of formative work for the teaching of mathematics. For this, the research was qualitative and interpretative, using as a tool the first stage of the data collection a mixed questionnaire, offered to all the coordinators of the initial years of Elementary School of the municipal network. In the second stage of data collection, used and triangulated three instruments (questionnaire, interview and training projects) of two coordinators. For the analysis of the data we find the theoretical contribution referring to the work of the pedagogical coordinator, the formative work performed by this professional, authors who defend the school as a space of continuous formation, teacher training and about the teacher who teaches mathematics. As a result, we verified that the pedagogical coordinator has four different natures that correspond to the teaching and learning processes, school organization, democratic and participatory environment, and teacher training.

Imagining and reasoning about hypothetical possibilities is an exclusively human characteristic and confers on cognition an important status for the study of different themes. The need for studies about imaginative processes is based on the inventive capacity of the human mind and on the flexibility that it must take in the face of the technological evolutions of today's world. Counterfactual thinking is a type of imaginative thinking characterized by mental simulation of alternatives to past events to alter the sequence of events to arrive at a different outcome from what actually occurred. Studies have indicated that this type of cognition is involved in different cognitive processes, such as decision making processes, moral judgments, motivations, inferences that enable behavioral changes and the adaptation of the individual and emotional elaborations. The studies on cognitions about past events in specific groups are necessary since they can give indications of the function that this type of thinking has for each group and also to focus on the different ways that the groups have in perceiving and to modify their thoughts in relation to the lived reality, as well as the consequences of thinking counterfactually to the emotions, cognitions and behaviors of each group from its specific characteristics. This doctoral thesis is organized in the form of three articles. The first one refers to the literature review of the area of counterfactual thinking that aimed to gather, evaluate and systematize the main findings of research on the subject between the years 2005 and 2015. The second article refers to the evaluation of counterfactual thinking in two specific groups: women victims of intrafamily violence and women with indicative of depression and analyzed the modifications from explicit request, called directed counterfactual thoughts. The third and last article deals with the evaluation of counterfactual thoughts elaborated spontaneously and under the choice of pre-defined alternatives.

This text, which is presented as a Course Conclusion Paper, intends to gather in its composition a knowledge incorporated over five years while studying undergraduate in Occupational Therapy, at the Federal University of São Carlos - UFSCar. During these years, I looked at three theoretical references outside of Occupational Therapy to try to understand the human body - Nietzsche, Merleau-Ponty and Deleuze-, who will be my interlocutors almost all the time, as they have been in the last five years, as well as other interlocutors. occupational therapists who served as inspiration - Marcus Vinícius Machado de Almeida, Flávia Liberman, Elizabeth MFA Lima, Eliane Dias Castro, Mariângela Quarentei, among others. Lewis Carroll's writings on Alice and Wonderland will be part of this composition, because, through experiences lived by my own body, I found in Alice thousands of intensities, pulsations and identities that fit me for now and serve as an artistic representation of these experiences. Throughout the text, drawings, paintings and photographs will be presented which, like Alice's tale, serve me as an artistic representation, but in addition, they serve me as a representation closer to the reality of my body's experiences. After all, a book without illustrations is not a book, Alice

Music, sometimes neglected in the human sciences, is one of the ways in which space, Geography’s object of study, can be analyzed, allowing new possibilities of comprehension of the reality. This work, studying the lyrics and the structure of Brazilians music genres caipira and sertanejo, through evolution processes of themselves in time, seeks to understand how music consume and production happens in Brazilian space in face of globalization. Based in the relation between both musical genres, we seek to understand the contradictions between rural and urban space, as well as local and global space.

Toxic effects of the pesticides Kraft® 36 EC (i.a. abamectina) and Score® 250 EC (i.a. difenoconazol), isolated and in mixtures were evaluated on zoplanktonic organisms. Daphnia magna was used as test-organism to evaluate pesticide effects using the biochemical biomarkers cholinesterase (ChE), catalase (CAT) and lipid peroxidation (LPO), besides energy-related parameters (total proteins and lipids) together and energy consumption (EC). Possible effects of agrochemicals on tropical aquatic ecosystems were simulated and evaluated by acute and chronic toxicity tests with surface runoff from soil experimentally contaminated with both agrochemicals. The native cladoceran Macrothrix flabelligera was used as test-organism. Potential risks related to exposure to isolated compounds and their combinations were evaluated through microcosm experiments. A review of literature was performed to analyze the use of rotifers species as test-organisms for pesticide toxicity evaluation in aquatic ecosystems with emphasis on tropical configurations. It was found that there is great potential for using rotifers as test-organisms for toxicity evaluations and risk assessment. An evidence of this potential was a higher sensitivity of native species exposed to fungicides if compared to D. magna. The isolated compounds did not have effects on cholinesterase (ChE) and catalase (CAT), but their mixture induced an increase on these biochemical. Lipid peroxidation (LPO) was induced for D. magna was exposed to the fungicide. Reproductive output was small but protein was not quantitatively affected, but the highest combination of both pesticides resulted increased lipid reserves. Consumed energy was highly affected and stimulated in all treatments for both, isolated compounds and mixtures. For M. flabelligera, tests with mixtures revealed a concentration dependent deviation (DL) by IA model, with antagonism in low and synergism in high mixture concentrations. The microcosms receiving runoff from experimental soil contaminated with individual pesticides did not cause toxicity to the test-organism, however their mixture caused immobility. The microcosm treated by spray drift with both pesticides showed the highest toxicity effects. Our results suggest potential risk of the selected pesticides in environmentally relevant concentrations, especially if occurring together.

All over the world today, there are more people living in cities than in the countryside. The accelerated urbanization associated with the socioenvironmental impacts of the capitalist mode of production is presented as one of the main problems of modernity. However, we can highlight in this destabilizing scenario initiatives aimed at reconciling urban environment and nature and the articulation between people in search of better cities to live and live together. Discussing the current environmental crisis requires taking into account actions articulated in the spheres of politics, economics, knowledge production and education, seeking the linkage between the real nature of environmental issues, human activities and educational processes. Critical environmental education can be seen as a possible translator of the language of collectives who bring alternative projects for the construction of a less predatory urban society. The focus of this investigation refers to the educational dimension of social practices of public intervention, admittedly guided by another environmental praxis. This praxis is revealed in the daily work of all those who are included as promoters of this new inhabit in realities of communitarian spaces that are proposed to new ways of working in and with the urban space. The concern that motivated this research is: were these interventions of transformation of urban spaces an environmental education happening in practice? And how do these people educate themselves and others in this group in this reality? In view of these questions, it was intended to understand this environmental educator process of transformation-re-signification-reoccupation of the spaces, from a contextual cut in the communitarian urban gardens that are spread and promote the environmentalization of the São Paulo/SP metropolis. Corresponding to our theoretical-methodological horizon, for this qualitative research, we take the position of participant observation and insert ourselves as participants in the context to be investigated. This point of departure and arrival allowed us a better understanding of the phenomenon (s) that involves (s) the action of humans between themselves and humans in / towards the environment. We conclude that this study focused on the experiences of transformation of urban spaces, with a cut to the context of some initiatives in urban community agriculture in the city of São Paulo/SP, confirms the prerogative of which we learn everywhere and can enrich the field of research in environmental non-school education, which involves efforts not only to look at the institutional and political relationships of educating themselves, but also m qualify its practice from the space in which it takes place. This is an effort that we have achieved by highlighting educational processes in the social practices of transforming public spaces in cities.
