O Cio da Terra: diálogos entre música caipira e globalização

Abstract

Music, sometimes neglected in the human sciences, is one of the ways in which space, Geography’s object of study, can be analyzed, allowing new possibilities of comprehension of the reality. This work, studying the lyrics and the structure of Brazilians music genres caipira and sertanejo, through evolution processes of themselves in time, seeks to understand how music consume and production happens in Brazilian space in face of globalization. Based in the relation between both musical genres, we seek to understand the contradictions between rural and urban space, as well as local and global space.
