Corrective Postural Training (TCP) ® is a gymnastic method with variability of movements that aims at postural control, metabolic changes and improvement in the quality of life of its participants. However, few studies have analyzed the behavior of physiological and metabolic variables in relation to the acute session of the modality. Thus, the present study aimed to analyze the effects of a session of the method (TCP)® on the concentration of lactate, glycemia, lipid profile (Triglycerides (TG), Total Cholesterol (CT), Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) (IL-6) and Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha (TNF-α)) and Creatin Kinase (CK) in human serum. active and healthy men without prior method experience. Sixteen adult and active men underwent for 40 minutes procedure (TCP) ® session. Blood samples were collected pre- and post-intervention to perform the dosages of: CK, lipid profile and IL-6 and TNF-α. For glycemia and lactacidemia analysis, samples were collected before, during and immediately after the session. The data were analyzed using the statistical software IBM® SPSS®. Results are expressed as mean and standard deviation. Statistical comparisons were performed using a one-way ANOVA and Paired Test-t for parametric data, and Wilcoxon's test for non-parametric data, being considered significant p <0.05. The main results showed that the (TCP) ® evaluated session promotes maintenance in the glycemic levels and significant increases in blood lactate at times 20 and 30 'compared to time 40'. The variables CT and LDL increased immediately after the session. However, the changes were insignificant for fractions of HDL, TG and VLDL. In addition, changes were found for neutrophil and eosinophil concentrations immediately after the session. Finally, cytokines TNF-α and IL-6 were not altered immediately after the session; as well as levels of CK 24hs after the protocol was performed. Thus, it was concluded that the (TCP)® session evaluated presented moderate intensity with predominance of the oxidative system and non-strenuous metabolic stimulus. The session presented maintenance of glycemic levels and alterations in mean lactate levels in relation to the involved musculature. As for the inflammatory profile, the session presented low inflammatory grade and low muscle damage, which makes it a session option for the beginning of a training protocol or as a regenerative approach after strenuous efforts.

Brazil faced accelerated urbanization without sanitation planning. This process evidenced deficiencies in the sanitation sector, directly affecting the quality of life and health of the population and generating impacts to the environment. Given this scenario, the planning of service delivery and the achievement of efficiency and effectiveness in their management become the premises for the search for universal access. Federal Law 11445/2007 defines the Municipal Basic Sanitation Plan (PMSB) as the main planning and management tool for the sector. The objective of the present study was to evaluate five PMSBs based on indicators and indices. The research included a review of the literature on sanitation plans (stage 1), reading and interpretation of five selected plans (step 2), application of a method to evaluate the content of the plans (Quality Index - IQ) and their performance (Audit Index - IA) in relation to the defined goals and objectives. The method proposed by the Ministry of Cities was applied in a comparative way to the selected one, in order to observe the potentialities and limitations of each instrument (step 3). The intention of the study was to observe deficient information that deserves to be detailed in the plans. The main results indicated that the documents analyzed partially meet the requirements of the Sanitation Law. The IQ has identified that some issues (social participation, service diagnosis, goals, actions and environmental education) are adequately addressed in the content of the plans. Institutional development presented itself as a weak point in all evaluated plans. The Ministry of Cities method has identified that all the documents analyzed need improvement (compatibility with other plans, absence of schematic drawings or sketches for technical engineering solutions for sanitation service systems and identification of the low-income population).

Demolition is the process of planned fragmentation of elements of construction that can be total, representing the ruin of the building, or partial, occurred in reforms and structural changes. However, it is considered as a risk activity, as it is often affected structural elements, and consequently, the static behavior of the building, and the study of the demolition project and controlled collapse is left without specific criteria. This research features a study of national and international standards, guidelines and code of practices that discuss the project and the useful techniques for demolition of reinforced concrete structures. In Brazil, the demolition is executed through empirical methods and often without technical safeguard, since the Brazilian norm that regulated the contracting and offered guidelines for the execution of demolition services was canceled. Therefore, were presented a study of the Brazilian norm canceled and standards of other countries, showing their differences and procedures, as well as the main current techniques, such as: manual, mechanical, wire rope pulling demolition, by explosives, wrecking ball, chemical demolition, thermal procedures and by hydrodemolition with pressure jet. Therefore, the different techniques are presented, the considerations for project and execution of demolitions and examples of projects applications, which is presented and discussed the planning criteria. The decision of the most appropriate method should be made by evaluating the factors of restriction, cost, availability of equipment and access, distance of neighboring buildings, the state of the structure and meteorological conditions. Thus, according to what was observed, it was concluded that a preliminary adequacy of the building to be demolished is important, to consider the most efficient and effective method in its correct dismantling and disposal of the waste generated.

Aims: This study investigated the impact of moderate ID on family quality of life (FQoL) on a sample of families from the city of São Carlos, SP, Brazil. Methodology: It’s a descriptive and cross-sectional research, in which 50 families with children with moderate ID and linked to the Association of Parents and Friends of Exceptional (APAE) of São Carlos participated. The data was collected using forms applied face-to-face, with families’ sociodemographic information, personal information from the individuals with ID, the Barthel and the Lawton & Brody functionality indexes of individuals with ID, and the Beach Center Family Quality of Life Scale (BCFQoLS). For statistical analysis, parametric tests were used. The statistical significance of the differences was determined by t-test or ANOVA, depending on the numbers of variables analyzed. The Pearson correlation test was used to evaluate the degree of binary correlation between the FQoL and the other variables, and the linear regression method was used for multiple correlation analysis. The level of significance adopted was 5%. Results: The individuals with ID reached an average of 90 points (SD±13.36) in the Barthel index, indicating moderate dependence for activities of daily living; and 3.12 points (SD±1.66) in the Lawton & Brody index, indicating a severe dependency for instrumental activities of daily living. The mean score reached in BCFQoLS was 3,587 (SD±0.470); this value of total QVF was significantly higher than the scores obtained in the domains "emotional well-being" and "physical/material well-being", and significantly lower than the scores obtained in the "family interaction" domains, "parenting" and "disability-related support". Emotional well-being was the domain with the lowest score in relation to the other domains. The domains most strongly correlated with total FQoL were "family interaction", "parenting” and "emotional well-being", aspects intrinsically modulated by family dynamics and cohesion. The only variable that showed a significant binary correlation with the total FQoL was the Lawton & Brody index (r=0.326; p=0.021). The adjusted linear regression model, considering this index, explained 10.6% of the variability found in the total FQoL results (p=0.021) and showed that the increase of one unit in the value of the Lawton and Brody index represented an increase of 0.092 points in the total FQoL value. Final considerations: It was observed that the FQoL of families with children with ID in the city of São Carlos, SP, is below the results of most international studies. The domain with the lowest scores was "emotional well-being". It is recommended that actions be taken to strengthen the dialogue and family cohesion in order to strengthen relationships and care among members. It is also important to offer activities that stimulate tasks of basic and instrumental activities of daily living early on, in order to promote greater autonomy of the disabled individual. Finally, it will be important to develop actions to raise awareness and training of public opinion, in order to facilitate a change of attitude that allows improvement in the integration of people with ID in society, promoting the exercise of citizenship.

This research investigates the meanings attributed to the word “science” in discourses of scientific divulgation the way it is built on an important communication device: Pesquisa FAPESP magazine. It is seen, here, as a mídium (DEBRAY, 2000): a vector and value that allows to identify one formative matrix, the FAPESP – Foundation of support to research of São Paulo state, because it is an editorial object tailored for results communication obtained by one of the largest research sponsoring agencies of Brazil, as it mobilizes 1% of the state of São Paulo’s tax revenue per year and e.g. disbursed R$1,058 billion for supporting 24.026 research projects in 2017, according to the activities report published by FAPESP in edition n. 270 on August 2018. Our corpus is constituted by the first 270 editions published, which includes all editions published between August 1995 and August 2018. To employ a descriptive listing of all editions aiming to map the genesis of such discourse, looking after meanings attributed to the word “science” present in scientific divulgation done by Pesquisa FAPESP magazine, we used the theoretical precepts of French Discourse Analysis as foundations, specifically the theory of enunciation scenes proposed by Maingueneau (2008a), which contributes towards comprehending of textualized discoursivization on Pesquisa FAPESP magazine, since it approaches the textual surface in which the discursive regime employ its values and powers.

There is no consensus on the literature regarding the definition of Parental Alienation (PA), fact that hinders the measurement, assessment and research of the phenomenon. Despite that, Brazil has a law that punishes the practice of alienation although this phenomenon is not well documented on academic circles yet. Considering the conceptual frame on PA and its specificity in the Brazilian context, the present study had two main goals, presented in two articles: 1) to propose an operational definition of the PA concept based an a ten-year systematic literature review, and 2) to investigate the knowledge of Psychology students on PA and to compare their answers in simulated alleged PA cases with the answers from psychologists. The search was conducted on 5 databases and 339 articles were found. Sixty-three papers were analyzed considering the definitions and use of PA and Parental Alienation Syndrome (PAS), authors’ attitudes towards PAS and recognition of PA as a modality of psychological abuse. Additionally, analysis and functional classification of parental alienation strategies mentioned on the articles was conducted. From the literature reviewed, Parental Alienation can be defined as a modality of psychological violence or abuse perpetrated against the child by a parent, caretaker, or family member, in which the behaviors emitted by the alienating member have the function of showing hostility and/or estranging the child from the alienated part. Ninety-one Psychology students participated on the research that involved collecting empirical data. Participants answered an online survey that assessed their familiarity with the PA concept, factors considered important and procedures they would use when conducting PA assessment. In addition, vignettes containing PA simulated cases were presented. The number of professionals who answered the vignettes varied between 42 to 58 and their answers were previously collected and registered on a database. In terms of students` knowledge, the results indicated that 72.5% of them reported to be familiar with the PA concept. Students were more accurate in evaluating the vignette involving a possible PA case, while professionals evaluated the case where PA allegations occurred simultaneously to sexual abuse allegations in a more accurate way. Given the reported results, one may conclude that the field of PA is characterized by strong conceptual divergences. As a consequence, the assessment of this phenomenon is a challenge both for forensic professionals and students.

This thesis is an ethnography of the social uses of applications for partner’s search in the countryside of Sao Paulo state, and argues that the social uses of digital media constitute themselves as mediatization devices of subjects. The research field is built from the network of connections that I establish with my interlocutors: men born between the decades of 1975 and 2000, of the popular classes, who live in the countryside of Sao Paulo and who use commercial services for partner’s search for gay men. From the connections between my interlocutors and the interfaces, I propose an ethnographic approach to the social uses of apps. The ethnography presents and analyzes the ways in which these technologies are shaped by the contexts in which they are used. Technology generates opportunities, but also consequences that the subjects are forced to deal with. The “digital” generates new questions, approaches, conditions and also contingencies for the field research. The thesis mobilizes a diverse set of perspectives on ethnography alongside and inside digital media and proposes an understanding of the field as a network and, far from seeking a complete answer, intends to break apart an emerging theoretical-methodological framework to deal with fields wholly or partially constructed by technology. The work seeks to investigate the underlying rationale behind the platforms. Drawing on cultural, historical and sociological sources, I present a history of commercial services for partner search that connects preexisting forms with those in digital media. The uses placed in empirical contexts show how the subjects mobilize the technology also to respond to the contingencies that surround them. The ethnography shows how for men, especially those who live their sexual experiences with other men in secret, the digital interfaces can be read as a private and safe environment, but which requires the subject to take an active control position on the social situation. The explored hypothesis is that the applications generate a procedure for social interactions and, in doing so, legitimize the practices that engender. Furthermore, as occurs with the interfaces, the subjectivities and procedures adopted for intersubjective interactions are also socially modeled and displaced by its uses, as far as the forms of interaction undertaken here are instrumentalized for partner’s search within a set of previously established and enforced standards. Since it is from the materiality of the interfaces that subjects recognize themselves, by generating a procedure for intersubjective relations, applications are also constituted as materialized fragments of subjectivity.

Defects are a problem in buildings all over the world. However, there is a shortage of publications that focus on managing this problem. Given that construction companies have limited resources for improvement activities, a method to manage the occurrence of defects is needed. Such a method should be capable of identifying defects that cause the greatest impact on customer satisfaction and finances, in order to focus continuous improvement activities. A method is proposed to manage the occurrence of defects in residential buildings, which is capable of determining the impact of defects on customer satisfaction, as well as their financial impact. The method uses such estimated impacts as inputs to a support decision making tool. Through interviews with companies, the literature review and the investigation of data not previously investigated in the literature, the method determines the impact on customer satisfaction by crossing data from technical assistance departments with data from customer satisfaction surveys, which includes objective questions about the impact of defects on the customer satisfaction. Data on the impact on customer satisfaction, financial impact and the number of occurrences is used as factors in the Choosing by Advantages (CBA) tool, whose output is the choice of the most important defect. Three hypotheses were also tested: H1 - The occurrence of defects in residential buildings negatively impacts customer satisfaction; H2 - Different defects result in different impacts on customer satisfaction and; H3 - The occurrence of defects obtained through interviews with owners or users of residential units is not reliable. The analyzes performed did not confirm H1, whereas H2 and H3 were confirmed. The proposed method was successfully applied to data of a construction company and validated by the company itself. The CBA tool was considered an adequate tool for choosing the most important defect.

Amorphous alloys of the Fe-Cr-Nb-B system are promising materials to supply the demand for new pipe coatings of higher wear resistance in the petrochemical industry due to its good abrasion and corrosion resistance properties. Since the development of the CALPHAD method, which is able to calculate the thermodynamic properties of several materials through computational methods, the development of new metallic alloys has been accompanied by modeling and calculations of phase stability and transformation in this framework. In order to predict the stability and tendencies of transformations of amorphous alloys of the Fe-Nb-B system, the two-state model recommended at the Ringberg 95 workshop to describe the amorphous state is applied in the CALPHAD framework to extrapolate the thermodynamic properties of this phase of the Fe-Nb-B system to ranges far below the melting temperature. The new calculated phase diagram shows good agreement to the recently reported phase diagram of the Fe-Nb-B system and more accurate and physically consistent when evaluating the heat capacity, entropy, and heat of crystallization at low temperature. These properties are compared with the experimental data reported in the literature and with new thermodynamic data of the amorphous alloy Nb84B16 obtained from differential scanning calorimetry in this work.

Semiconductors are promising catalysts for artificial photosynthesis, but to date, there is no consensus on the ideal photocatalyst for CO2 reduction. Among semiconductors used for CO2 reduction, Nb2O5 is a promising alternative, since it has characteristics useful for catalysis, such as surface groups capable of assisting catalytic processes and high chemical stability. However, Nb2O5 absorbs only UV radiation, thus large-scale application of the same under solar radiation is inefficient. Given this problem, the formation of heterojunctions between Nb2O5 and C3N4, a semiconductor that absorbs below 460 nm of the visible spectrum, was investigated in this thesis as an alternative method to improve the photocatalytic properties of Nb2O5. Initially, the ability of Nb2O5 to convert CO2 in C1 and C2 products under irradiation was studied since Nb2O5 is known for its high surface acidity, a factor that could decrease the interaction of CO2 with the surface of the catalyst. However, it was observed that the surface acidity of Nb2O5 favored the formation of CO due to the low interaction of this molecule with the surface of the catalyst. This finding showed that Nb2O5 is a possible catalyst for CO2 photoreduction reactions. Accordingly, the main characteristics of Nb2O5 was verified and alternative synthesis methods for the formation of heterojunctions between Nb2O5 and g-C3N4 were investigated in order to shift the absorption of Nb2O5 into the visible region and increase its photocatalytic performance. To that end, heteroaggregation induced by difference in superficial charge was chosen. The method proved efficient for the formation of g-C3N4/Nb2O5 heterostructures, where the Nb2O5 particles were homogeneously dispersed on the surface of g-C3N4, thus conferring an intimate contact between the particles, high sharing of photogenerated charges, and consequently high photocatalytic activity for the degradation of organic pollutants and conversion of CO2 into CH4.

Urban mobility is one of the pillars for the sustainable development of cities. However, as a result of the lack of a strategic planning that considers the different transport systems, the saturation of the cities has contributed to the general limitation of mobility. Thus, it is noted that these problems are not restricted to large cities, but are also a reality in small ones (with up to 20 thousand inhabitants). In this context, this research proposed to carry out an investigation about the factors that influence the option for a mode of transport for trips to work in a small city. The methodology used was based on data collection by questionnaires where the factors influencing the decisions of the individuals on the choice of foot, bicycle, motorcycle and car modes for journeys to work were identified. The results indicated that the factors related to the health aspects, comfort, chances of being involved in accidents, chances of being assaulted, economy, being bothered by sun and rain, difficulty finding parking space and environment influence the decisions of individuals.

The establishment, permanence and reproduction of a species or population in a given environment is conditioned to some local limiting factors (Liebig's Law of the Minimum), and to the physical-chemical factors within the tolerance range of such species or population (Shelford's Law of Tolerance). Similarly, the more restrictive attributes present in a river basin shall be considered as determinants for the land use and occupation at an early stage. Interventions that would strengthen and improve the availability of initially more restrictive factors or attributes would guide land occupation in an increasingly constructive way, enabling more sustainable, balanced and biophilic relations between built and natural environments. The objective of this research was to develop a rapid, low-cost, efficient, easy to use and scientifically consistent procedure for the diagnosis and quantitative sensorial evaluation of a place and its surroundings landscape, with a view to correlate and make Agroecosystems (agriculture, livestock, forestry and natural ecosystems) and Engineering and Urbanism (infrastructures and urban planning) compatible. In different sampling points of the hydrographic basin or within an area of interest, the aspects of Climate and Bioclimatic Zones, Relief (Relief forms, Declivity, Guidance of Stones, Stones and Rocks, Erosion and Mass Movement), Biota (Flora, Fauna, Soil Coverage, Organic Matter, Odor and Soil Organisms) and Soil (Permeability, Compaction, Structure, Porosity, Color and Tonality, Mottled, Texture and Dry Consistency, Wet Consistency (Agroecosystems), Wet Consistency (Engineering and Urbanism), Plasticity, Tackiness, Disintegration and Dispersion) are evaluated and scored. As a final result, a semaphore numerical framework shows more or less restrictive attributes at each sampling point, composing the basin mosaic and bringing pre-project elements to the decision making process for land use and occupation. A "field notebook" or "field manual", the main product of the thesis, was written in a common language and is accessible to a diverse, technical and non-technical audience, explaining the procedures for the evaluation and score of the 27 attributes associated with the local Climate, Relief, Biota and Soil. Especially to the assessed attributes regarded as more restrictive, technical studies and evaluation by qualified professionals are necessary.

In this thesis two discrete distributions are proposed: Correlated COM-Poisson (CPC) and Generalized partially correlated COM-Poisson (CPGPC). We have also proposed regression models for the Generalized partially correlated Poisson distribution (PGPC) (proposed by Luceño (1995)). We calculated the probability mass function for all distributions with two parametrizations. The distributions were constructed using the same expansion made by Luceño (1995) in the construction of the correlated generalized Poisson distribution. The CPC Correlated COM-Poisson distribution is the same expansion of the zero-inflated COM-Poisson distribution ZICMP. For the CPGPC Generalized partially correlated COM-Poisson distribution, the characteristic function, probability-generating function, moments, and the maximum likelihood estimation for the two parametrizations were determined. We performed the probability mass function, quantile and random number generator of the distributions quoted in program R.

Coragyps atratus is a vulture belonging to the Cathartidae family. Its geographic distribution covers the whole American continent and is especially abundant in areas of cities and farms, avoiding regions with dense forest. Due to its eating habits involving mainly decaying carcasses, this species is constantly exposed to pathogens. In addition, among the health problems that are found in birds, it is possible to highlight the parasitic infections that can generate health risk for the individual, as well as to cause a potential biological risk for others of the same species or of different species, considering also the risk of zoonoses due to their proximity to humans. The objective of this research is to perform a survey of parasites in individuals found in the Parque Estadual das Fontes do Ipiranga and to relate their presence with animal health and public health, since little is known about the health profile of this species. Through the capture of 119 specimens of wildlife black vultures, photographic records of the region of the vulture's head were made, weighing and marking of all individuals. Fecal and regurgitant samples were collected and analyzed to search for endoparasites and analysis of feathers and body for ectoparasites. Ectoparasites were registered with mites (Cathartacarus coragyps), mallophages (Falcolipeurus sp. and Colpocephalum sp.), a low number of ticks (Amblyomma sculptum) and hematophagous flies (Ornithoctona erythrocephala). In endoparasites, eggs of trematodes, low amount of coccidia, a larva and a nematode egg were recorded. The black vultures presented a difference in parasite incidence between young and adult individuals with trematodes, being higher in adults and coccidia in juveniles. Through the analysis of the dry and rainy season from February 2018 to January 2019, it is possible to observe a higher parasitic infestation of mites and malophagous during the dry season. The present study contributed to the knowledge of the health profile of the species Coragyps atratus, suggesting not being a vulture with potential biological risk for environmental and animal health, in addition, it provides support for management protocols.

In Brazil, the most commonly used means of transport for people and the locomotion of loads is the road, and the paved roads show that most of them have asphaltic coating, as well as urban roads. However, to maintain these roads under acceptable traffic and safety conditions, regular maintenance or restoration interventions are required. Among these processes for the rehabilitation of the asphalt coating, there is the milling process of the asphalt layer, which consequently generates a large amount of waste that needs a final destination. In this case, the reuse of the milled material is an important topic to be studied, since, besides containing properties that can provide an increase of resistance in the layers of pavement, can reduce the execution costs generating less impacts to the environment, since the material to be discarded will be reused. In addition, it is not necessary to extract the materials from the deposits, as well as the need for no deposit areas. From this scenario, we can highlight that the importance of the present study was to seek an alternative to the reuse of waste. In this sense, we had as objective to evaluate the behavior and performance of the mixtures of lateritic and nonlateritic tropical soils with milled asphalt material for possible use in base layers, sub-base and reinforcement of subgrade of flexible pavements for urban roads. The experimental methodology was carried out according to the following steps: selection and collection of five soils of the region of São Carlos-SP; identification of soils, namely: soils 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5; conducting soil characterization tests; and, finally, classification according to the MCT and HRB methodology. Thus, the asphalt milled material was collected and the characterization of the residue was carried out, being the same used in the mixture without any treatment process. The experimental part by means of simultaneous Support California Index (ISC) tests in the Normal and Intermediate compaction energy, in which a variation of percentages of milled material was applied in relation to the pure soils used. The percentages were increased in predefined proportions of 10% in 10% of the recycled material (milling) in substitution to the soil until reaching 50%. The variation of the ISC and the expansion in different moisture contents for the soils purely as for the different mixtures were evaluated. Therefore, based on the results of the tests carried out on the soils analyzed, it was verified that the use of milled material in layers of subgrade reinforcement, sub-base and base of low traffic pavements or urban pavements, can be an alternative technically feasible, provided that the conditions for application are met.

This research proposed a very short-term forecasting framework electricity price and demand based on Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). Effectiveness forecasting tools are essential to facilitate the decision making process of the stakeholders in the deregulated electricity market. Besides, accurate short-term load forecasting (STLF) and electricity price forecasting (EPF) play a significant part for controlling and scheduling of smart grids, consequently, to ensure effectiveness energy resources of smart cities. For case study, a dataset from Australian National Electricity Market was used. The dataset is formed by historical from climate variables, demand and prices series. It should be mentioned that all of these variables were preprocessed using the Weighted Moving Average (WMA) to minimize the effect of noise on the data and help identify trends. Therefore, ANN input set are made by 66 variables/attributes. Correlation-based Feature Selection (CFS) algorithm was applied to form the most relevant variable set to STLF and EPF. As a consequence, reduction of 84 to 90% of the number of variables considered. Moreover, WMA of meteorological variables were selected applying CFS. In sequence, 20 executions of training and validation of Multilayer feedforward ANN were made. The best results have mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) from 2.68% to 4.84%, for STLF, and MAPE from 7.06% to 19.01%, for EPF.

Control systems are used to suppress the influence of external disturbances, to guarantee operational stability and to optimize the performance of chemical processes. Whatever the purpose, the means of controlling a chemical process go through the measurement of process variables and the adoption of different control strategies. Regards drying processes, the humidity and temperature of the solid product are related to the quality and the maintenance of its physicochemical properties. However, the direct measurement of this variable depends on slow, expensive and imprecise processes, especially in particulate systems and in constant movement, such as a spouted bed. A technological alternative is the use of virtual sensors, also known as soft sensors, which essentially have the role of linking simplified models and available measures in order to estimate the value of variables for which a "physical" meter is not available. In this context, the objective of this work was to develop soft sensors to jointly estimate the moisture and temperature of the solid phase during the drying process of granular porous solids in spouted bed, in view of the potential application in control purposes. It was used mathematical models found in the literature for different applications both in relation to the dryer and the material to be dried. For the moisture estimation, a mechanistic-empirical model was adjusted to minimize the difference between the experimental observations and the respective estimates. For the solids temperature, a fundamental model based on the energy balance equations for the solid and gaseous phases was adjusted so that the estimate outlet drying air temperature corresponded to the experimentally measured value. The results obtained for the humidity soft sensor showed good correspondence to the experimental measurements. For the temperature soft sensor, the unavailability of solid temperature measurements prevented a direct comparison between the estimated and experimental values. However, the results obtained were consistent with the heat and mass transfer phenomena that occur during batch drying.

This dissertation analyzes the digital influencers that make use of the Instagram platform in the scenario of online sociability enhancement, and the consolidation of the oligopoly business model of the Silicon Valley companies that currently concentrate the use of the Internet in its majority. In spite of the rhetoric of providing services or facilitating the sharing of experiences, these companies base their business model on the maintenance of advertising platforms where the users act as a "co-producer" and "partner" although- often – they are exploited in their creative capacity. The objective of this research is to study how Instagram users negotiate the boundaries between the public and the private, which would elevate them to the position / condition of digital influencers by their ability to influence their followers in the consumption of products, brands and services. As specific objectives, we seek to understand how the identity of digital influencers is constructed by analyzing critically the income, class, and ethnic-racial origin that are behind this construction. Finally, we investigate whether digital influencers can be understood as entrepreneurs by seeking to constitute a kind of "me-company" in a period of high unemployment rates and a decrease in labor rights which gain favor among entrepreneurs.

The growth of lung transplantation has been constant throughout the world, and with this, the results presented have been progressively better, both in the short and long term. Despite this reality, some problems of difficult solution limit these programs, such as chronic graft rejection and complications secondary to long-term immunosuppression. The immunosuppressive strategies used in lung transplantation are based on triple schemes, composed of a calcineurin inhibitor, an antimetabolic agent and corticosteroids. A fourth group of immunosuppressants consists of inhibitors of cell proliferation, in particular, mTOR inhibitors. In this sense, this review aimed to compare the immunosuppressive regimen based on a calcineurin inhibitor-associated mTOR inhibitor at reduced dose with the calcineurin inhibitor alone in the chronic rejection of the posttransplant lung graft. In order to do so, we applied the methodological design of systematic review of the literature, through searches in electronic health databases (MEDLINE, Wef of Science, Scopus, Cochrane Central, EMBASE and LILACS) and in secondary manual resources. Six scientific articles composed the corpus of analysis for the qualitative synthesis of the results, which referred to three studies named SHITRIT, NOCTET and 4EVERLUNG. The main outcomes were the safety of substitution therapy for calcineurin inhibitor-based immunosuppressive therapy by the treatment of mTOR inhibitor with low patient mortality as well as maintaining efficacy in controlling events of chronic graft rejection. The relevance of the data that indicated an improvement in the renal function of the patients when submitted to the therapy with inhibitor mTOR in relation to calcineurin inhibitors was unanimously highlighted. The studies present a high reliability index due to the manifestation of low risk of bias in most of the items evaluated for the assertive conduction of a randomized clinical trial, in addition to presenting an important recommendation force for clinical decision making. In this sense, this systematic review guides a weighting in the use of mTOR inhibitors, considering the greater risk of mortality in the first year of treatment associated with this therapy. For patients with renal dysfunction associated with the isolated use of calcineurin inhibitors, this review "recommends" a change in the therapeutic regimen for the insertion of mTOR inhibitors into calcineurin inhibitors at a reduced dose, considering the imminent risk of mortality of lung transplant patients under renal insufficiency.
