listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, O plágio acadêmico na percepção de estudantes universitários(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-08-22) Lima, Thaís Aparecida de; Furnival, Ariadne Chloe Mary; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1291482506649810; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8055062665833481The definition of Information Literacy is related both to the set of knowledge, skills and attitudes that individuals must possess to use information in a critical and ethical way, as well as lifelong learning. The ethical dimension of Information Literacy is based on the behavior that reachs the worry with legal aspects about the use of information by the individual for the realization of the collective good. The use of information and communication technologies and the ease of access to a large amount of information makes even more relevant the issues of the adequate use of information sources and the ethical dimension of Information Literacy to combat plagiarism for the legal use of information. The present work aims to verify the perception that undergraduate members of an academic community have regarding academic plagiarism based on the ethical use of information in the context of Information Literacy, addressing the issue of plagiarism. The research developed has a quantitative-qualitative character, based on a bibliographical review of the topics addressed, and it was exploratory in relation to the research objectives. To collect data and present the results, a questionnaire was applied to university students on the Bachelors Degree in Library and Information Science (BCI) and Biological Sciences, at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar). The research results allowed us to identify that: respondents can understand what plagiarism is, but from the responses chosen regarding the sanctions to be applied, most of them do not identify plagiarism as a crime of copyright infringement. And although most respondents stated that they cite the sources used in their academic work, the consistency of the citation may be impaired due to the lack of frequency in consulting referencing and bibliographic standards. Finally, we identified that within the university, initiatives to tackle plagiarism are still incipient and the issue requires further debate and reflection therein.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Diversidade sexual e gênero: um olhar para os discursos que envolvem a prática educativa dos professores na EE Ary Leite Pereira(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-08-22) Scherrer, Renato; Tagliavini, João Virgílio; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1979817459932992; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2117943922062264The objective of this master’s dissertation is to analyze how the discourses present in the school environment of EE Ary Leite Pereira on sexual and gender diversity. The aim is to verify if there is a relationship between the perceptions of teachers in the face of social, historical transformations and the affirmation of the subjectivity and human identity that occurred due to the struggle for civil, political and social rights. Historical dialectical materialism was used in order to find the contradictions present in discourses and practices. For this, was developed a Research Roadmap, with questionnaires applied to school teachers, which allowed to expand the results of the research, which although present in the speeches, it appears in few situations of pedagogical practice and in the personal relationships between those involved in the school environment and is restricted because there is a lack of official guidelines and documents to allow such dialogue. The Research Roadmap was characterized as a research tool for an analysis of the speeches produced in the school and to relate them to the concepts studied. In this way, there is a need for continued training on the issue of sexual and gender diversity in the school environment, provided by competent bodies and addressing the scarcity of time of educators.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Sobre a pele, paredes e papéis: a escrita entre os Xikrin do Bacajá(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-08-22) Beltrame, Camila Boldrin; Vander Velden, Felipe Ferreira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7289231173735671; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0995074384060751This thesis constitute a ethnographic study concerning the appropriations that the Xikrin of Bacajá, Jê speaking people in the state of Pará, made and makes of non indigenous writing. It seeks to highlight the manipulations as well as the effects that these graphics cause in their relationships. Writing is brought to them by non natives and its learned by children at school. Regarding the Xikrin people, it was aimed for the younger ones of the tribe and it began to compose the set of knowledge shown by this public. It has been incorporated into a indigenous logic that organizes the exhibit of knowledges from the gender and stages of one’s life. Furthermore, the Xikrin group chooses for the disarticulation between orality and writing and it becomes evident in different situations. Finally, writing is not a form of expression that spontaneously mobilizes these people. It depends on foreigners requests to be shown. However, graphics are made freely by the young ones when they write their personal names on various supports. This action that Xikrin people makes of writing in different contexts, its use - and mainly the refusal to use - allow us to observe relations through other forms of expression. Thus by tracking non native visual manifestation that reflections were constructed on the meanings the Xikrin acknowledge on the writings.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Análise das aplicações de metadados baseada em FRBR e RDA em repositórios institucionais digitais: contribuições do domínio bibliográfico(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-08-22) Cerrao, Natalia Gallo; Castro, Fabiano Ferreira de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7124931056289027; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0889233459179310Descriptive Cataloging goes through a moment of reflection and reorganization in search of its identity and has been studied in an increasingly interdisciplinary way by professionals from heterogeneous fields. In the bibliographic domain, with the development of conceptual models, such as the Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records (FRBR) and the propose of Resource Description and Access (RDA) guidelines for resource description, it is necessary to understand how such initiatives relate to digital institutional repositories. The objective of this research was the study of FRBR and RDA established in the bibliographic domain, in order to identify the state of the art on the trends of the bibliographic domain and if they can be applied in digital institutional repositories. The theoretical and methodological support of the Systematic Literature Review (RSL) provided the mapping and identification of key elements to answer the research question. In addition, an empirical study was conducted in the Institutional Repository of the Federal University of Sergipe, from the analysis of a descriptive record that could be identified the theoretical and applied principles of FRBR and RDA. Twenty-five (25) documents were analyzed in the RSL, which can be considered a relatively low index on scientific production consistent with the research proposal and the need for further studies on the subject. Computational technologies, use cases and specific applications were identified in bibliographic, academic and Web environments. Through RSL it was possible to identify and analyze FRBR and RDA based metadata applications in digital institutional repositories, with the extraction of mapped theoretical and methodological requirements. by the international scientific literature. It is emphasized that the state of the art built in this research presents itself as a starting point for the development of tools and applications that bring the bibliographic domain closer to digital institutional repositories. Thus, the contributions of the bibliographic domain characterized in this context by FRBR and RDA and their application in digital institutional repositories can be evidenced in the transfer of concepts, processes, methods, instruments, technologies, models and patterns for the description of features from Descriptive Cataloging, favoring the modeling of open and interoperable environments and systems, providing more intuitive and accessible interfaces, ensuring the most optimized retrieval of information for users.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Crowdsourcing: como a sabedoria das multidões pode interessar ao campo de pesquisa e ação da Ciência da Informação(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-08-22) Lu, Yi Chieh; Gracioso, Luciana de Souza; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4898201916360294; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5240357347783495With the advent of the Internet and the constant adaptation of the Web, the space of exchange of information with different interests and needs has been reshaping the way of research of individuals connected to the network, especially the way of producing information and knowledge in this space. Due to it, more and more discussions about Crowdsourcing are emerging as a way of producing new knowledge. It is a model of information production that provides for collective collaboration and takes advantage of the “wisdom of the crowd” to generate innovation. In this sense, the objective of this research is to investigate the extent to which Crowdsourcing is used as a resource for the production of knowledge and innovation for the field of research and action of Information Science, within the University Libraries, aiming to identify possibilities for approaching librarians with their internal and external community. As specific objectives, it is necessary to verify how much this model has been explored in the scope of the Integrated Library System of UFSCar, since it is understood that these Libraries are configured as indispensable equipment to optimize the production of knowledge and innovation. Methodologically, the work was based on the Systematic Review of Literature, developing bibliographic surveys in national databases - BRAPCI and BENANCIB, and international - LISTA and SOCUPUS (multidisciplinary) databases. The profile of the Brazilian researcher on crowdsourcing was also analyzed through the Lattes Platform, using Lattes Machines and VantagePoint tools. Direct observation was carried out on WebSites of University Libraries for identification and mapping of crowdsourcing practices. Finally, a Case Study of the UFSCar Community Library was conducted to identify potential applications of crowdsourcing, describing the proposed implementation of Starteca. The results reveal that there is a lack of knowledge about crowdsourcing in the field of research and practice in Information Science, especially in the scope of Brazilian university libraries, which is a common practice abroad in public libraries in general. It also revealed the change of position of the librarians in face of the community’s needs, who are no longer imprisoned only access and material physical support, promoting in these places an environment of collaboration and collective construction of solutions, and can be used also for crowdsourcing application in physical environment - Starteca, space to undertake - by the library. Therefore, it is concluded that crowdsourcing is an innovative resource for Information Science within the University Libraries, since it is possible to innovate its practices through the wisdom of the crowd, opening the doors and opportunities for the connected society to contribute, approaching the community and giving visibility to the library. At the same time, it is possible to be a tool to overcome the financial crises encountered today, becoming a creative and active way for the library to collaborate with its community. In this way, it is possible to boost products and services, since these are inputs to support the development of new knowledge and generation of innovation. However, prior to this, the library must adopt mechanisms to approach its users, welcoming them to be part of the space, becoming an equipment that fosters sharing, exchanges and problem solving together, their value to the community through active attitude.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Autoarquivamento e representação de assunto: estudo analítico de teses e dissertações do Repositório Institucional da UFSCar(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-08-22) Freitas, Marina Penteado de; Dal'Evedove, Paula Regina; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1170937498266968; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1466679811400874There is a lack of research in the Information Science literature on self-archiving in institutional repositories, regarding the quality of representation of the documentary information and, consequently, the information retrieval capabilities. Investigations on the indexing practices of scientific production using self-archiving procedures are relevant on order to contribute to the improvement of quality both of information representation and of information retrieval by subject in institutional repositories. The research focus of this dissertation is on the lack of empirical investigation on the consequences of information retrieval in open access institutional repositories. Therefore, the aim is to investigate the self-archiving effects on the consistency in indexing by subject in institutional repositories focusing on the theses and dissertation collection. The empirical investigation concentrated on analyzing the results of unmediated self-archiving by authors/researchers compared to the same process executed by a librarian specialized in self-archiving. The evaluation centered on the dissertations and theses of the Science, Technology, and Society Postgraduate Programme available in the Institutional Repository of the Federal University of Sao Carlos (UFSCar). The aim is to contribute from a theoretical-methodological perspective to harmonize self-archiving practices and the consistency in indexing scientific production of the Brazilian institutional repositories. The secondary objectives are the following: a) contextualize the institutional repositories from the Information Science perspective emphasizing the modern practices of documentary information representation in a digital context; b) characterize self-archiving practices in both national and international institutional repositories; c) investigate the indexing consistency of theses and dissertations in the RI/UFSCar applying the intrinsic qualitative evaluation method. The investigation is exploratory and descriptive, applying the bibliographic research method to perform a qualitative analysis. The results show a similarity between the indexes evaluated, but the user’s indexation took more time and was less precise than the expert librarian’s indexation. A possible solution to deal with the lack of terms precision is to provide documentary languages to users/researchers as references for terms assignment, subject metadata validation by librarians, and indexing policies elaboration to improve representation and retrieval by subjects in institutional repositories.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Síntese de acil fosfodiésteres por mecanoquímica: uma metodologia de química verde(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-08-22) Patrocinio, Katiana Lima do; Moura, André Farias de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0746428641961163; Marques Netto, Caterina Gruenwaldt Cunha; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8042236152815373; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6895713868339732Green chemistry is very concerned with the sustainability of chemical reactions, where one of the objectives, which in the formulation/remodeling of synthetic routes can replace toxic solvents with solvents of lower toxicity, can be highlighted the methodologies that use none or a minimum of solvents. Mechanochemistry is a technique that employs the mechanical maceration of reagents without solvents, achieving excellent results in less reaction time. This technique can improve traditional reactions that have low yields of products with high value, such as acyl phosphates. Phosphate esters have a wide application such as enzymatic substrates, surfactants, and prodrugs, and their synthesis employs several steps with highly toxic reagents and solvents. Therefore, in this work, we aimed at the synthesis of acyl phosphates via mechanochemistry to improve the sustainability of these processes. The methodology was optimized and involved the use of acyl chloride and a phosphate source in the presence of tetrabutylammonium bromide, eliminating excess solvents and decreasing reaction time from hours to minutes. Tetrabutylammonium bromide was shown to be essential for the selectivity towards the phosphate diester, and its role in the reaction was evaluated by molecular dynamics simulations. From the simulations, it was evident that the size of the carbonic chain from the acyl chloride had a major influence in the reaction outcome, in which the tetrabutylammonium bromide was needed to order the acyl chloride in the solid matrix. Comparatively, despite its low yields (maximum 50%), the methodology of this work presented better values of the E-factor and environmental coefficient than the ones described in the literature, exhibiting great potential in the sustainable synthesis of acyl phosphates.
