Item type:Item, Synthesis and characterization of Biosilicate/F18 bioglass scaffolds for dental application(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-10-16) ;Abadia, Claudia Patricia Marin ;Crovace, Murilo Camuri ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/2960564171443068 ;Zanotto, Edgar Dutrahttps://lattes.cnpq.br/1055167132036400In this work, Biosilicate scaffolds were synthesized using the foam replica technique. Biosilicate is highly bioactive, biodegradable, antibacterial, and non-toxic. Despite of these properties, Biosilicate scaffolds present low mechanical strength, limiting their clinical applications. Therefore, our aim was to increase the mechanical properties of the Biosilicate scaffolds by several F18 glass coatings. First, the Ryshkewitch and Ashby & Gibson models were used to calculate the maximum theoretical compressive strength of the scaffolds in function of their porosity, taking into account the ideal conditions found in the literature. Biosilicate scaffolds were prepared through the foam replica technique; then, they were coated several times with F18 Bioglass slurry to eliminate their defects and reinforce their structures. The scaffolds were characterized by microstructure, total porosity, average cell size, and compressive strength. The material exhibited a total porosity of 82%, an average cell size of 525 μm, and compressive strength of 3.3 (± 0.3) MPa, values in the range of commercial scaffolds based on Hydroxiapatite and β-TCP. Scanning Electron Microscopy showed that F18 bioglass helped to remove surface defects and partially infiltrated the hollow Biosilicate-struts, increasing significantly the resistance of the material. Also, in vitro osteogenic differentiation of human Adipose-derived mesenchymal Stem Cells (hASCs) was evaluated using F18 glass-coated Biosilicate scaffolds and their ionic dissolution products. Gene expression profiles of cells were evaluated using the RT2 Profiler PCR microarray on day 21. Mineralizing tissue-associated proteins and osteogenic differentiation factor expressions were measured using Q-PCR. Additionally, alkaline phosphatase enzyme production and extracellular matrix mineralization were evaluated. The alkaline phosphatase activity, mineralization and bone-related gene expression of hASCs were significantly enhanced upon stimulation with both scaffolds and their ionic extracts. This work evidenced that F18 glass-coated Biosilicate scaffolds have a high potential for dental applications.Item type:Item, Efeito de um complexo de rutênio em células de câncer de mama em diferentes modelos 2D e 3D in vitro e in vivo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-10-18) ;Becceneri, Amanda Blanque ;Cominetti, Márcia Regina ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/3725318894555272https://lattes.cnpq.br/0287592842289363Cancer is among the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in the world. Specifically, breast cancer is an extremely heterogeneous disease, being composed of different subtypes and this heterogeneity makes treatment difficult, since each disease subtype has specific characteristics and requires differentiated treatment. Despite progress in the field of molecular and cellular biology, the development of new antitumor drugs is still a major challenge, as many drugs currently used are not selective for tumor cells, making the treatment difficult and causing unwanted and adverse effects on patients. Metal complexes are being used as an alternative for cancer treatment and several other diseases, and ruthenium complexes have been gaining prominence for cancer treatment due to their unique characteristics and important results. The aim of the present work was to select among different molecules a new ruthenium complex, which would be the candidate for an antitumor drug and to evaluate the effects of the selected complex through in vitro studies on breast cells in two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional cell culture (3D) and in vivo toxicity and genotoxicity studies. The results demonstrated that the complex Ru(ThySMet) was the most active against MDA-MB-231 breast tumor cells among the three complexes after 24 h incubation and in in vitro 2D tests induced cytotoxicity, inhibited invasion, adhesion, morphology and apoptosis-induced alteration, DNA damage and nuclear fragmentation of MDA-MB-231 tumor cells in lower concentrations compared to MCF-10A non-tumor cells, suggesting the selective action of this complex for tumor cells. In vitro 3D experiments with 24 h incubation with the complex Ru(ThySMet) also show higher cytotoxicity to T4-2 and MDA-MB-231 tumor cells compared to S1 and MCF-10A non-tumoral breast cells and induced apoptosis in different culture models and DNA damage. Also, the complex reverses the malignant phenotype of T4-2 breast cancer cells due to a suppression of substances related to this process, such as EGFR, p50 NFκB and β1 integrin. In vivo, the complex Ru(ThySMet) does not cause toxicity and caused DNA damage only at the highest dose administered. An analysis of the effect of the complex Ru(ThySMet) synthesized on a microemulsion nanostructured system on different breast cells, MDA-MB-231, MCF-10A and 4T1.13ch5T1 and on Balb/C 3T3 fibroblasts, exhibited that with 48 h of incubation there was an increase in selectivity of this new complex and also that this complex was able to alter the morphology and inhibit cell migration of tumor cells with more specificity than non-tumor cells, but its mechanism of action was altered causing cells to die from necrosis rather than apoptosis. Taken together, the results indicate that the complex Ru(ThySMet) has potential for breast cancer therapy and ¬¬further studies should be conducted to prove this potential.Item type:Item, O modelo de barras como recurso na resolução de problemas algébricos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-10-22) ;Fontes, Gabriel de Oliveira ;Barbosa, Grazielle Feliciani ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5368292206467565https://lattes.cnpq.br/1408933519555387According to Saeb data (assessment used by the federal government to measure student learning at the end of each stage), most Brazilian students do not achieve results considered sufficient when referring to mathematics teaching, considering that it is sufficient to perform operation with natural numbers or recognizing function graphs, who knows that these students have a minimal understanding of algebra. Therefore, the work foresees the study of a model for teaching algebra that became known in Singapore, which obtained excellent results in international exams. In addition, the work has the resolution of 7 problems, using the Singapore model together with the Problem Solving which aims at four steps that were proposed by Polya, they are: Understanding the Problem, Establishing a Plan, Implementing the Plan and Retrospect. These two methodologies aim to serve as a basis for mathematics teachers in algebra teaching. The paper also presents a brief understanding of the transition process from arithmetic to algebra, recognizing that understanding this process facilitates the teacher to find the difficulties of students. During the resolution of each problem, we tried to create, in some points, dialogues between teacher and student, trying to simulate the teaching-learning environment, besides providing what started the work, improving the training of mathematics teachers.Item type:Item, Análise do conhecimento pedagógico do conteúdo de professores de educação física: pré-escola e anos iniciais do ensino fundamental(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-10-23) ;Zanotto, Luana ;Alves, Fernando Donizete ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/3812723309905378https://lattes.cnpq.br/9718778267626503This research comprises Physical Education teaching practice and its field of investigation is the early years of Basic Education, comprehended by a) Children’s Education (Preschool), and b) Elementary School (early years), in this study named Children’s Physical Education (CPE). This study aims to analyse teacher’s pedagogical content knowledge; then, relate to how the knowledge base organizes the pedagogical practice. This knowledge base in teaching refers to the subject, the content, the context, and general pedagogical knowledge. To achieve that, the project was based on a qualitative approach. In the first stage, 14 teachers from different schools in a city on the countryside of São Paulo state, Brazil. For the data collection, an extension activity was proposed to a specific group of participants during their Collective Pedagogical Work Time. The second stage consisted in interviews with four teachers in the interest of the correlation of a pedagogical content knowledge in teaching; as well as collected information regarding the vertical articulation of CPE’s curriculum. The results showed that teachers are aware of the subject - the child - from the direct contact with them. The subject’s knowledge reveals when the teacher adapts the classes according to their demands and the expectations created by the teachers themselves. Also, regular and cultural games consist the content applied on CPE, which highlights a sufficient knowledge expressed by the teachers, mostly in their didactic application of this theme. The children’s context concerned the teachers as well, and reflected on their pedagogical practice. On the other hand, the awareness about other schools, the teaching community, and social factors were less present in their reports, indicating small contributions for their pedagogical content knowledge. Also, interdisciplinary activities and continuity in teaching were identified, although no effective measures were taken for a vertical articulation of the curriculum. The conclusion points to an array of practices for teacher’s professional development through a continuing education process specific and contextualized for each teaching profile.Item type:Item, Aplicação de estratégias combinatórias para mapeamento de fases quasicristalinas em ligas do sistema Al-Cu-Fe(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-10-24) ;Kiminami, Claudio Shyinti ;Wolf, Witor ;Bolfarini, Claudemiro ;Botta, Walter Joséhttps://lattes.cnpq.br/5443002033733395Item type:Item, Estudo da produção de nanofibras de carbono por fiação por sopro em solução a partir de poliacrilonitrila e lignina(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-10-24) ;Camargo, Lais Angelice de ;Mattoso, Luiz Henrique Capparelli ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5839043594908917https://lattes.cnpq.br/6529712290982189Carbon nanofibers (NFC) are highly resistant materials and are widely used in the aerospace and battery industry. Methods such as eletrospinning and solution blow spinning (SBS) are used for the production of carbon nanofibers and these can be produced from polyacrylonitrile (PAN), among other petroleum polymers. In this work the carbon nanofiber production by SBS from PAN enriched with lignin content from bio-residue was studied. The nanofibers produced in this work were characterized by physicochemical properties by XRD, FTIR, Raman and NMR, thermal properties by Thermogravimetry (TG/DTG) and Differential Exploratory Calorimetry (DSC), as well as structural properties by Microscopy Scanning Electronics (SEM). An experimental design was carried out to optimize the nanofiber production parameters of PAN by SBS and those that influenced the nanofiber diameter according to the model were PAN concentration and the injection rate, thus, the higher the concentration and the lower the injection rate, the larger the nanofiber diameters. NFC from PAN were produced by SBS and presented an average diameter of 153.2 nm for 6 %, 254.0 nm for 8 % and 369.0 nm for 10 % of mass fraction confirming the tendency of concentration increase with increased diameter of the produced nanofibers indicated by experimental design. Carbon nanofibers from PAN with the addition of lignin were obtained up to the 20:80 PAN/Lignin fraction for 18 % mass concentration. For the ratio of 10:90 PAN/Lignin it was only possible to obtain nanofibers from the fixed viscosity of the 0.2 Pa.s solution for both wood lignin (Lig-M) and sugar cane lignin (Lig-C). These nanofibers had an average diameter of 228.5 and 300.6 nm, R (ID/IG) of 1.26 and 1.22 and crystal size of 15.3 and 15.7 nm respectively. These results for carbon nanofibers obtained through Lig-M and Lig-C by SBS corroborate those found in the literature for nanofibers produced from eletrospinning. Thus carbon nanofibers with up to 90% lignin were successfully produced in this work using the new solution blow spinning technique.Item type:Item, Efeitos térmicos durante a foto-eletro-oxidação de glicerol catalisada por CdS(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-10-25) ;Oliveira, Cristian Hessel de ;Sitta, Elton ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4326476348284298https://lattes.cnpq.br/1960387014755134Cadmium sulfide (CdS) is one of the most important chalcogenides applied to water splitting, which has a band gap of 2.4 eV that suits very well with the solar spectrum. Moreover, CdS possesses a strong reduction activity for H+ to H2, which makes this material interesting as a cocatalyst with another material for water splitting. Unfortunately, the use of water as electron source (oxygen evolution reaction) is difficulted due to the high overpotential and sluggish kinetic. Thereby organic molecules, as glycerol, oxidation appears as an alternative anodic reaction once it has high power density, renewability and low cost. In this work we focused on the glycerol electro-oxidation reaction (GEOR) catalyzed by FTO/CdS decorated with Platinum above or between FTO/CdS films under visible light irradiation and from 15 to 35°C temperature range. The CdS film was deposited by chemical bath deposition and Pt were deposited from Pt2+ precursor. The films were characterized by Raman and UV spectroscopy, XRD and SEM techniques. Electrochemical experiments were conducted in a quartz window 3 electrodes glass cell, with same solution reversible hydrogen electrode as potential reference and a platinum plate as counter electrode. The measurements were performed in KOH 0.1 mol L-1 and glycerol 1.0 mol L-1 under 100 mW cm-2 light irradiation. The experiments showed that increasing temperature the photocurrent also increases, following the Arrhenius equation and resulting in an apparent activation energy (Ea) of 35, 35 and 26 kJ mol-1 for the FTO/CdS, FTO/CdS/Pt and FTO/Pt/CdS, respectively, for potential under 0.5 V. For potential above 0.6 V the Ea decreases linearly with the potential increasing, tendency which is observed when Pt electrode is used as catalyst and probably linked with GEOR. The above results suggest that glycerol is a candidate to replace water in the anodic process for H2 production, and that increasing the temperature the kinetics of the process is improved.Item type:Item, Contribuições para um léxico-gramática das construções locativas do espanhol(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-10-25) ;Rodrigues, Roana ;Vale, Oto Araújo ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/2277403284693571https://lattes.cnpq.br/5277363935076195Locative verbs establish a relation of localization between the elementary parts of a sentence: subject and complements (la mujer puso las llaves en la mesa). The aim of this work is to create a first version of a lexicon-grammar (GROSS, 1975) of the locative verbal constructions in Spanish. In order to do so, we first compare verbs classified as space found in the ADESSE database of verbs in Spanish (GARCÍA-MIGUEL et al., 2003), and the verbs classified as locative in the ViPEr database of verbs in Portuguese (BAPTISTA, 2013). From that intersection, 352 could potentially be part of the LGLE (Lexicon-Grammar of Locative verbs in Spanish). After thorough analysis of each lexeme, and with help of native Spanish speakers and a selection of sentences from the Web, 318 constructions were finally chosen for the LGLE. The words were classified into 10 categories, according to structural, distributional, and transformational properties, and organized into binary tables. For didactic purposes, we offer a general typology that separates the constructions into verbs with prepositions (vivió en Barcelona) and direct transitive verbs (ocupó el colegio). Beyond that, we list their main characteristics: restrictive verbs by omission (viajó -de Nicaragua- a Londres), restrictive verbs by toponymy (lo deportó a España), denominal verbs (encarceló al empresario) and phoric verbs (vino de Brasil). We also offer a brief comparative survey on locative verbal construction in Spanish and their equivalents in Portuguese, as available on ViPEr. The main divergences between the two languages are related to the false cognates and prepositions. The description of this phenomenon and its comparison the Portuguese language can contribute to the descriptive studies of natural languages, besides the application to other areas of knowledge, such as Natural Language Processing and teaching of Spanish and Portuguese as first and second languages.Item type:Item, Um modelo lean & green para a ecoeficiência em processos produtivos da construção civil(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-10-25) ;Rezende, Marilia de Oliveira ;Moris, Virgínia Aparecida Silva ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1101036108950133 ;Silva, Diogo Aparecido Lopeshttps://lattes.cnpq.br/1101747760784249In Brazil, construction activities are fundamental for economic and social development. However, its importance is damaged by the intensive consumption of natural resources and use of energy. It is estimated that 50% of annual solid waste generated in Brazil comes from the civil construction, but few companies seek to change it. Therefore, it is desirable study ways to add value and reduce the environmental impacts while maintaining business viability of construction activities. Lean Construction (through Lean production) and Sustainable construction issues can solve these questions, but there are few studies that focus on integrated approach of Lean & Green with business perspective. In this sense, this study aims to propose a Lean & Green model for assessment of construction processes using eco-efficiency indicators. The model combined: Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and eco-efficiency indicators, in a cradle-to-handover perspective for seven categories of environmental impacts. The application of the model was done by a case study that considered the concrete frame and light steel framing (LSF) processes of the same high standard residence located in Sorocaba/SP. The results showed that the LSF had higher environmental impacts than concrete alternative in five of the seven evaluated categories. Nevertheless, under the analysis of eco-efficiency indicators, the LSF presented better indicators than concrete frame in four of the seven categories. To guiding decision-makers, the Lean & Green approach considers four possible results for the analysis of the indicators and provides recommendations on how to achieve the scenario of sustainable construction, which increases added value and reduces environmental impacts, maintaining business competitiveness. Finally, compared to other existing Lean & Green models from literature, the proposal of eco-efficiency indicators based on VSM + LCA was a differential of this study, as it brings new guidelines to make construction processes closer to the integrated sustainability needs.Item type:Item, Applications of topological degree theory to generalized ODEs(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-10-27) ;Macena, Maria Carolina Stefani Mesquita ;Federson, Marcia Cristina Anderson Braz ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1945447546918726 ;Schiabel, Karinahttps://lattes.cnpq.br/2677541143976758In this work, we present original results concerning the theory of Generalized Ordinary Differential Equations (we write generalized ODEs for short) using tools from the Topological Degree theory. In particular, we proved results on Existence of bifurcation points and we applied the results to measure differential equations; Differentiability of the solution operator of generalized ODEs, including a Fredholm Alternative-type theorem, and we applied the results to measure differential equations; Existence of periodic solutions of linear generalized ODEs to which we applied not only results from the topological degree theory, but also from the Fredholm operator theory; Existence of affine-periodic solutions of generalized ODEs. It is worth mentioning that the present work generated 3 original articles which are in their final stages of preparation and will be submitted for publication soon. In addition to the above, we also generalized the results from my Master Thesis which are contained in a submitted article, coauthored by J. Mawhin and M. Federson. While in such article we deal with the existence of periodic solutions of generalized ODEs involving bounded variation functions, in the present work we consider the regulated functions. Such new results are part of a chapter in the book entitled Generalized ODEs in Abstract Spaces and Applications and organized by the editors M. Federson, E. Bonotto and J. Mesquita. The book will be published by Wiley in 2020.Item type:Item, Altas habilidades/superdotação: conhecimento científico e informação midiática(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-10-29) ;Mani, Eliane Morais de Jesus ;Rangni, Rosemeire de Araújo ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/6399149504309769https://lattes.cnpq.br/3262109594164736In Brazil, public policies for Special Education offer guarantees for identifying and serving students with high abilities/giftedness. However, there is a static situation of invisibility of these students in the educational scenario, due to the lack of knowledge on the subject, observed in the inexpressiveness of the minimum enrollment data for these students, in addition to the low scientific production in this field. Moreover, the media is an important communication vehicle to transmit, as well as to information, socially constructed knowledge, especially that which is based on scientific evidence, since the media has high relevance for the formation of opinion and the adoption of values, concepts and concepts that reflect and influence the citizen profese. In this study, the aim was to investigate and analyze the media representations of high abilities/giftedness in six vehicles, two on television and four in the written press, in the years 2008 to 2018. The specific objectives were: to verify the incidence of theses and dissertations that address the dissemination of high skills/giftedness in the media; and, identify and categorize the reports of the Brazilian communication vehicles signaled about high abilities/giftedness. For that, a documental and descriptive research was developed. The searched media were: television media – Rede Globo and Record TV; written media – newspapers: Estado de São Paulo (Estadão) and Folha de São Paulo – magazines: Veja and Isto é. The results brought a total of 143 reports, including written and televised publications, published over a period of 10 years, on the theme of high abilities/giftedness. The categories on the themes that stood out the most in these publications were identification and service. An important factor found was the presence of myths in the reports, especially referring to the idea of genius associated with high abilities/giftedness. Thus, it was possible to conclude that despite the advances in the legal sphere regarding the inclusive educational process in the country, the media vehicles have not contributed as expected with the dissemination of scientific knowledge in relation to the area of high abilities/giftedness, so that it is possible to break, mainly with the lack of knowledge, myths and inattention present in the social and educational context, arising from common sense.Item type:Item, As estratégias de criação e localização dos outlets: um estudo de caso sobre o Complexo Integrado Catarina localizado no município de São Roque-SP(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-10-29) ;Santos, Joe Andrew Mateus ;Silva, Carlos Henrique Costa da ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5444248390841543https://lattes.cnpq.br/4058772491775563Trade and consumption have a significant relevance in geography studies, after all, influences social life in multiple aspects and also in the formation and transformation of geographical space, especially the urban one. Taking into account their multiformity, this research analyzed one of several commercial forms outlets, having as object of research Catarina Fashion Outlet, built in the municipality of São Roque, located in the Sorocaba Metropolitan Region in the state of São Paulo. This research object was chosen because it is the only one located in this metropolitan region and is part of a complex made up of business towers and the first executive airport in the country, and this outlet has a great representation as a consumer space for the population. this and other regions of the state. Our research aimed to analyze the commercial dynamics of this typology, especially the elements that make possible the desired discounts on luxury goods, such as features such as location and architecture, as well as their role in urban (re) spatial production and in contemporary times. The research methodology included a bibliographic and documentary survey, in addition to the procedures performed in the field: fieldwork, photographic records through non-participant observation. The research found the uniqueness of this commercial form due to the set of elements that characterize it, but mainly by its commercial strategies and its location that takes into consideration the regional context, placing itself as another modern commercial form attracting new content, forms and according to new logic and changes in the market and consumption.Item type:Item, A "nova política" na mídia: discursos da imprensa brasileira sobre um candidato "não político"(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-10-29) ;Zamboni, Patricia Helena Ferreira de Campos ;Piovezani Filho, Carlos Félix ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1677609008094603https://lattes.cnpq.br/6553390901164123In 2016, Brazil was experiencing moments of effervescence in its political history: major corruption investigations, protests and President Dilma Rousself's controversial impeachment process. All this, spectacularized by the media, contributed to reinforce discourses of rejection to the political class. That year, elections would take place in public executive and legislative positions within the Brazilian states and municipalities. To conduct an effective campaign in such a scenario, it is not surprising that many candidates have invested in building a self-image representing a “new politics”. So did João Doria, candidate for mayor of the São Paulo city who, being better known in his career as a businessman in private enterprise than for his actions in public life, chose to repeat tirelessly that he was not a politician but a “manager”. Given this electoral strategy, media coverage may or may not adhere to labels created by the candidate during the campaign. In dealing with political agents and events in the electoral context, the major media of the national press addressed aspects and facets of these agents and events and thus contributed to the construction of certain events and certain meanings. The events and meanings produced could have been different, if the ideological positions were different, the aspects and other focused dimensions of the involved subjects in that electoral campaign were different, and the resumption, reformulation and erasure operations were still others. The same for the refutation of the memories inscribed in the constitution of that electoral context. It is from this assumption that we are proposing here a better understand what the great vehicles of the national press are talking about when dealing with João Dória's campaign. In the midst of this purpose, we also intend to describe and interpret the ways of saying that characterize the media statements in which the discourses of the great press materializes. Therefore, our work is based on the postulates of Discourse Analysis of Michel Pechêux and his group. It is also on this basis that we extend our reflection to the analysis of the comments of the readers of these press texts dealing with João Dória, as a candidate and as elected, also seeking to understand the properties of what is said in these comments and their ways of saying it. In this way, we will consider the relations between politics, media and society from the discursive perspective. More attention will be given to the recurrence of statements that theorize the alleged non-political condition claimed by Doria himself, the press mentions of his social class and the reception of these statements by readers. For this, our object of study will be the media utterances extracted from texts of major press communication vehicles. The material that makes up the corpus includes, in addition to texts from the journalistic sphere - from the Folha de São Paulo and GGN newspapers, and from the IstoÉ and Carta Capital magazines - the comments posted by the readers of these newspapers and magazines. Through our analysis of these data, we believe to be possible to support the thesis that the mediatization of politics has as its counterpoint the politicization of the media and society. More precisely, the last one comprises both political awareness and a more or a less direct action in public life, when it contributes to the consolidation of anti-political discourses and the depletion of public space.Item type:Item, Vigilância sanitária e atenção básica: percepção dos agentes comunitarios de saúde em um municipio do interior de São Paulo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-10-30) ;Adalberto, Silvia Aparecida de Souza ;Figueiredo, Wagner dos Santos ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5780408703746760https://lattes.cnpq.br/1080019206732786This study aimed to contribute to the understanding ofintegration between Sanitary Surveillanceand Basic Attention, specifically in the Family Health Strategy, in a city in the countryside of São Paulo.Based on the theoretical frameworks on comprehensiveness, health promotion, Primary healthand health surveillance –Sanitary Surveillance-we seek to analyze the practices of Sanitary Surveillancein Basic Attention–specifically in the strategy of family health, through the perceptions of the Community Health Agents, considering the conception of Sanitary Surveillance, the actions and potentialities and weaknesses related to that integration. This study was attended by ten Community Health Agents, belonging to a Family Health Strategyof each territorial region and, as a qualitative research, developed from semi-structured interviews with the mentioned agents, whowork in the Family Health Strategyof the chosen city. The data wastreated based on the thematic content of the interviews through a subsequently ideographic and nomothetictrajectory, and organized into thematic categories, where the general characterization was initially performed and subsequently analyzed and empirically categorized: actions and work routine ofthe agents; the conception of Sanitary Surveillance; the relations between the work of the agentsand the Sanitary Surveillance; Difficulties and facilities for the development of related actions. The findings of the study pointedto the need ofdiscussion regarding issues related to Sanitary Surveillanceand the integrality ofhealth care: understanding about health surveillance; the need to approach Sanitary Surveillancewith Basic Attention. Also questions regarding health surveillance and actions of promotion and prevention of healthcare and other important issues for the interaction of basic attention and Sanitary Surveillance:professionaltraining. Thus, we understand that apparently the perceptions of the Community Health Agents, as well as the practices and actions of Sanitary Surveillancein the context of their actionsin the Family Health Strategy, from the perspective of the integration of actions is an incomplete process and that often theirconception on the Sanitary Surveillancepoint almost exclusively to the regulatory and surveillance issues of Sanitary Surveillanceto the detriment of health promotion and protection actions. However, we identified that the Community Health Agentsperform various actions in the territories related to the actions of the Sanitary Surveillance, but they do not make this correlation. Therefore, it seems essential that this discussion is highlighted in the context of Unified Health System, seeking strategies for greater integration of Sanitary Surveillanceand Basic AttentionItem type:Item, Modelagem matemática e educação ambiental: desenvolvimento de fichas ambientais para aplicação no ensino básico(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-10-30) ;Rapelli, Osni José ; ;Salvador, José Antonio ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/2487171069472158https://lattes.cnpq.br/8612937971342684This work is about the development of environment-related mathematics worksheets to give students a critical view of the world, make them search for solutions to their own communities and, in that process, understand how useful and necessary the mathematical tools are. That is the challenge that this work tries to overcome. Using Mathematical Modeling through analysis on real, serious problems concerning our environment, we introduce mathematical concepts which, through several exercises, take the students to a new thinking and rethinking about the world, perceiving information, making predictions and finding solutions to make life better for them and for their community. Item type:Item, Direito é luta: o legado do Pronera para uma educação socialmente referenciada(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-10-30) ;Maia, Maria Claudia Zaratini ;Bezerra Neto, Luiz ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4809080593333472https://lattes.cnpq.br/5811576326229195This thesis deals with the right of the rural population to education, especially the access to higher education in law courses, through the public policy called Pronera - National Program of Education in Agrarian Reform. In 2006, started the first law course through Pronera, at the Federal University of Goiás, with formation of the first class in 2012. In 2013, two new classes began in the State of Bahia. In addition to the three groups mentioned, there are three other Pronera Law classes in progress, one at the Federal University of Paraná, the other at the Federal University of Goiás and the Federal University of South and Southeast Pará. The research analyzes these courses and their impact. in guaranteeing the rights of the rural population, if they have the possibility to train organic professionals to their social classes and if the specificities of the Course can contribute to legal education. To this end, a bibliographic and documentary research and interviews were conducted with the coordinators and students of the courses. The method used was dialectical historical materialism, more suitable for understanding concrete reality. The conclusions are that the courses make possible the access to the Law Course for the rural population, despite the small number of vacancies still offered, and the difficulties still faced, with the pedagogy of alternation and the limitation of resources, which contribute to there is counter-hegemonic legal education, as opposed to traditional legal education, which has the possibility of training organic professionals to their social classes, committed to the realization of rights and social justice.Item type:Item, A unidade da sensação em Aristóteles(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-10-30) ;Santos, Felipe Calleres Amaral dos ;Lopes, Marisa da Silva ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5427042421727621https://lattes.cnpq.br/8326204205221180Aristotle's account of sensation starts from two main sense objects that actualize the senses, namely, those proper to each sense and those common to all the senses. Proper as color to sight, sound to hear, and so on; and common are listed as movement, rest, figure, unity and size. Proper and common sensible are held to act on the senses as concomitant (ἀκουλουθουντα) to each other, which means that we cannot see a color without a size, and vice-versa. Since discrimination of sensible differences is putative to a unit of the faculty of perception the clarification of this sensible unit should be able to support the explanation of the discrimination of sensible differences. The first step towards this explanation comes from the joint cause of proper and common sensible. For the second, we must treat of Aristotle's definition of sense in general which says that sense is what has the capacity to receive into itself the sensible forms without the matter. This definition specifies that sensible forms occurs according to a quality (τοιονδί) and a proportion (λόγος). In this way the unity of common and proper sensible would be equivalent to the sensible form received without matter, and hence the foundation of all sensation. Whether and how the clarification of this unity makes it possible to understand discrimination is a more complex matter, since there are two points of view to be discussed: the nature and necessity of a central sense organ and the formal unity necessary for sensitive discrimination. Our hypothesis is that Aristotle's explanation is carried out by taking the proper sensible as a link to a unitary approach of the sense faculty which is the unity for both proper and common sensibles.Item type:Item, Ativismo judicial na perspectiva comparada entre o direito e a ciência política: remédio ou veneno para a democracia?(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-10-30) ;Oliveira, Marcos Rogério Félix de ;Noronha, Eduardo Garuti ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/6908348693613769https://lattes.cnpq.br/4509295487123470The term “judicial activism” has been widely used in the media, well as in the academic papers. It turns out, however, that this is an ambiguous term. Thus, the present work initially sought to find the origins of this expression and to analyze the discourse in which it was used, with the intention of extracting the original meaning of what Judicial Activism would be. It was noticed throughout the study that the author of this expression, Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr., did not intend to create a concept, which turned out to be an effect produced. Despite not intending to create a concept, through the narrative of his text we were able to establish the elements that would characterize Judicial Activism, proposing our concept of Judicial Activism and Self-Containment. From this definition, we proceeded to the study of Judicialization of Politics, with the historical rescue of the expansion of the Judiciary Power, which led, in our opinion, the emergence of this phenomenon. Thus, from the study of the relevant literature, it was possible to extract the various meanings in which this term is used and, based on all these elements, we formulate a concept of Judicialization of Politics, in order to differentiate it from Judicial Activism. Then, we started to study the Politicization of the Judiciary, establishing the various meanings in which this expression can be used, also in order to differentiate them from the other terms. Once the conceptual question was solved, the path through which the studies of Judicial Activism for Law and Political Science went through was established, establishing, in the end, the different trajectories and conceptions of this term for each of the sciences. Finally, the question was answered as to whether Judicial Activism is the poison or the remedy for Democracy.Item type:Item, Desenvolvimento de biossensores eletroquímicos utilizando acetilcolinesterase visando identificar extratos e substâncias para o controle de formigas cortadeiras(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-10-31) ;Araújo, Sean dos Santos ;Fernandes, João Batista ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/2691336077459602https://lattes.cnpq.br/7181896069596980Brazil, which is a continental country, has an appropriate climate for various agricultural practices. Insects, in general, are considered pests for agricultural areas, among them, an Atta sexdens rubropilosa (leafcutter ant) that attacks as eucalyptus, pine plantations among others. Control of this pest becomes essential for the best productivity of cultivated areas. This control can be directed to inhibition of enzymes present in the target insect organism. In this line, the present work aims to immobilize the enzyme acetylcholinesterase (AChE) in SPEs (screen printed electrode), using the layer-by-layer technique, using AuNPs-GSH (glutathione-decorated gold nanoparticles) and EDC reagents ( 1-ethyl-3- (3-dimethylaminopropyl) carbodiimide) and HOBt (Hydroxybenzotriazole) which establish the covalent bonds responsible for immobilizing an AchE in the SPEs. Electrochemical responses confirm effective immobilization of the enzyme with this developed protocol. For inhibition assays, Azadiractin limonoid, Toona ciliata crude extract and Picramnia riedelli and P. ciliata crude extracts showed significant inhibition percentage against AChE. The 1H NMR spectra of the crude extracts used were obtained to propose natural compounds present in them and to indicate possible relationships with the results of the enzymatic assays. These extracts showed good insecticidal activity against the leafcutter ant.
