Introduction: The number of Brazilian elderly people has been increasing in recent decades. However, there is also a significant increase in spending on health and greater consumption of medicines. Guaranteeing the right of the elderly person in the public and private care network is currently expanding enormously to eliminate the possibility of negligence or the absence of the right to health. On the other hand, when the right is violated, one of the supporting agencies is the Public Ministry (MP), and especially in relation to the interface with the elderly and the need for pharmacological treatment (drugs) the MP has received numerous requests. Thus, this research characterized requests for support for pharmacological treatment with the Public Prosecutor's Office for the Elderly in a Brazilian city of the São Paulo state. Methodology: Descriptive, exploratory, retrospective study, based on documentary study fundamentals. Data collection was carried out using the @e-SAJ system (Justice Automation System). The analysis was based on the assumptions of simple statistics and thematic content. Results: A total of 153 cases were analyzed regarding the request for drugs by elderly people at the MP of Araraquara city from June 2015 to April 2016. The elderly median age requesting persons was 72 years, the majority composed of women, married and widows, with income up to 3 minimum wages and living in the central region of the city. The requests were related to the support of pharmacological treatments for diseases, with decreasing prevalence: Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Neoplasms, Macular Degeneration, Arthrosis, Alzheimer, Stroke, Depression, Heart Failure and Dyslipidemia. The most requested drugs were: Lucentis Ranibizumab, Rivaroxibana (Xarelto), Eylea, Insulin, Carvedilol, Clopidogrel and Galvus Met. Discussion: The discussions and actions regarding health promotion and disease prevention policies are expanding and investing in long-term primary care can result in a reduction in spending on old age and avoid the processes with the MP, establishing a guarantee the right to health. The MP has a fundamental role in supervising and assisting in the construction of public policies that are effective and efficient to structure the Unified Health System and the support network for the elderly to improve social support and seek the eradication of discriminatory and violence.

Formalização das Instituições de Longa Permanência para Idosos de acordo com o Cadastro Nacional de Atividades Econômicas (CNAE)
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2020-12-01) Matiole, Ana Carolina; Varoto, Vania Aparecida Gurian; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7449531039410521; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2661373553377066
Introduction: The phenomenon of population aging is a fact and with the increase in the number of elderly people each year, the care offered is facing important transformations, both for the spaces and for the people who provide care. The quality and integral care provided are guaranteed by law, primarily by the National Policy for the Elderly and the Statute of the Elderly and emphasizes that the family, society and the State must offer to support and needs to theirs elderlies. The guarantee of quality service includes the inspection of those who offer, among them Long-Term Care Institutions for Elders (ILPI), which are inspected by the Public Ministry, Council of the Elderly, Health Supervision/ANVISA and others provided by law; identifying the formalization of the type of economic activity provided and target public, in relation to the activity offered in the day to day and for those who offer. Objective: characterize the ILPI of two interior cities (São Carlos and Araraquara) of the São Paulo state, from the registers collected of the Municipal Council of the Elderly and the Prosecution of Justice of the Elderly; besides comparing with the registers of the National Classification of Economic Activities (CNAE). Methodology: This is a qualitative and quantitative study, descriptive, retrospective character and foundations of thematic content analysis. This study was linked to the research group Law, City and Aging. There was a bibliographic deepening through descriptors related to the theme in databases of SCIELO, BVS and repository of theses and dissertations of UFSCar and University of São Paulo (USP). The collection occurred in the Gerontology Department of UFSCar in the research group database, between the first and second semesters of 2019. The general characteristics of the ILPI (nature, public attending, main and secondary activity) were identified and in the sequence the collection took place through the internet at the IBGE and according to the CNAE records, aiming to characterize the typology of each ILPI with emphasis in its activities. Results: Twenty-six ILPI were identified, 21 (80.8%) are private, 5 (19.2%) philanthropic, and the majority of the vacancies occupied (712) by women (483, 67.8%). The primary activities related to the registration of ILPI are among the majority (11, 42%) highlighting the social area of performance. However, other classifications are adopted characterizing a care services in the health area like the typification of Clinics and Geriatric Residences.

Introduction: In the Brazilian scenario, population aging has been shown in evidence. We highlight improvements and investments in social, health and assistance programs for people over 60, and support for families. Some programs, projects and services gain evidence of care and offer support and assistance to families and the elderly who need care, through comprehensive institutional care, in which the Long-Term Care Institutions for the Elderly (ILPI), also known as asylums, shelters or nursing homes are inserted. Objective: To verify the reason for the requests for vacancies in ILPI in two cities in the interior of São Paulo state (São Carlos and Araraquara), as well as to characterize who sought the vacancy and for whom. Methodology: This is a qualitative and quantitative research, of a descriptive and retrospective nature, the analysis being carried out through the thematic content. The collection of this work was through the database of the research group Law, City and Aging of the Department of Gerontology (DGero) at UFSCar, referring to the initial twelve months of collection of each municipality (São Carlos: October 2018 to September 2019; and Araraquara: May 2018 to April 2019). After the collection, a bibliographic date was carried out with the intersection of the descriptors in the selected databases, restricting the bibliographic productions close to the study theme. In addition, data were collected on the general characterization of the ILPI the number of available and occupied places, the general profile of the elderly (gender, age group, marital status), characterization of who searched for the place and the reason for the search. These data were organized in spreadsheets in Excel and application of simple statistics. The results indicate 154 scientific productions, of which 116 articles and 38 productions referring to theses and dissertations. 32 were excluded due to duplicity and 119 because they did not address the research topic, resulting in 3 scientific articles. There was a total of 26 ILPI, 16 in the city of Araraquara and 10 in São Carlos. In addition, it was observed that some of them offer vacancies for the option of Day Center for Elderly (CDI). 214 job search files were registered, 37 in São Carlos and 177 in Araraquara. Of these, 133 (62%) were for women and 81 (38%) for men. Most of the elderly are aged 80 and over (114; 53.3%), widowed marital status (58.9%). Most of the applicants are family members (daughters, 88; 41.12%), female (150; 70%), between 50 and 59 years old (56; 26%), married (138; 64.48%). Regarding the reasons for seeking vacancies in the institutions, two dimensions were classified, family (152; 71%) and elderly (51; 24%). In both, the category "qualified care" stood out, being for the family (128; 60%) and for the reason of "caregiver without qualification" (100; 47%). For the elderly dimension, the category "qualified care" indicated 27 (13%) for the highlighted reason "you cannot take care of yourself" (27; 13%). In the search for a place at the LTCF, the requests in evidence were for qualified care and socialization (67.5% and 9.5% respectively), while vacancies for CDI were the highlight for socialization (15; 71.4%). Conclusion: The profile of the elderly seeking a vacancy is predominantly female, aged over 80 years, widowed and partially dependent. Regarding those who sought the position, most of them were the daughters because of the need for qualified care for the elderly. The frailty of the elderly and a greater request for the type of care at the ILPI were identified. The search for CDI in the ILPI environment may indicate weaknesses in the understanding of the type of services, or the absence of these types of services in the municipality, signaling demands for part-time care attention that favors keeping the elderly person as long as possible with his family and greater support for family members.

Introduction: Photobiomodulation as a complement to exercise is common in clinical practice; however, the existing evidence for its recommendation is low. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine whether photobiomodulation therapy provides additional benefits to exercise in patients with chronic non-specific low back pain. Material and methods: An electronic search was carried out in databases, including Medline via PubMed, EMBASE and Scopus, for randomized clinical trials published in English from 2003 to 2014. The selected studies were selected independently and the guidelines were used to describe this systematic review evaluated according to PRISMA (Preferred reporting items for systematic analysis and meta-analysis). Results: Six studies met the inclusion criteria for this review. Moderate evidence indicates that low- and high-level laser therapy provides additional short-term benefit for exercise in improving overall pain (10 cm visual analog scale of pain) and disability. Conclusions: Physiotherapists may consider the use of photobiomodulation therapy as a short-term supplement to exercise to improve pain in patients with chronic non-specific low back pain.
